We had a family wedding in town and a couple households stayed together here for a week. We never were cramped at all. "The Scandia House Loft" was a labor of Love, it took two years to restore this former house of Pleasure. In the process of restoration we discovered old coins, whore house tokens, old newspapers ,wooden nickels and other artifacts. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation far from traffic and noise but still want to have a variety of activities to choose from, this is the place you want to spend your vacation. When you wake up in the morning and see the beautiful mountains out of your window, you will know why this area is called ‘Paradise Valley’. The view is breathtaking of the whole Valley!
There is a bakery, general store, post office and three restaurants within one half mile. Recreational opportunities include hiking, biking and Blue Ribbon trout fishing for native Cutthroat and Brown Trout on the world famous Yellowstone River. The Yellowstone River is only 1/2 of a mile from your front door! There are also several hiking and biking trails accessing the Galatin National Forest. In the winter, these trails can be accessed for cross country skiing. Bridger Bowl ski area is under an hour drive away. World famous Chico Hot Springs is only three miles away. There you will find a wonderful, large, relaxing hot pool which is drained nightly and filled with fresh warm mineral water daily. If you have any problem with achy joints, you will most likely find relief here. Chico Hot Springs also hosts a 5 star restaurant for which reservations are recommended. These procedures will be done after every guest leaves. This is the perfect place to practice social distancing and enjoy some beautiful scenery.

Welcome to Villa Hygge. The Danish owners purchased this property in early 2020 and have since repainted and refurnished the entire spacious villa with hygge (pronounced "hoo-gah") at the core of each renovation decision and purchase. Hygge is a term that roughly translates to "cosiness" but to Danes, the happiest people in the world, hygge illuminates the Danish soul. In essence, hygge means creating a warm atmosphere for enjoying the good things in life with good people.

Villa Hygge is an easy 30 minutes north of Gardiner, Montana, the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. There is ample off-street parking with a circular driveway illuminated by solar lights for easy access in the dark.

The entry way has a bench for gear and shoes. The upper level boasts the master king bedroom, powder bathroom, cozy living room with gas fireplace, beautifully appointed dining area, fully stocked kitchen, and an exterior glass encased patio with a propane BBQ complete with ample deck furniture. The floor to ceiling glass windows and doors lends magnificent views of Emigrant peak from most rooms throughout the entire house.

The master king bedroom has a spacious walk in closet, an ensuite bathroom with a shower and jetted tub with amazing views of the mountains, as well as a private door to the patio facing Emigrant Peak. Both rooms have large windows for plenty of light and mountain views.

The flat rock fireplace and large sectional couch in the living room is the perfect place to relax, watch a show on the large flat screen TV with Sonos surround sound, or enjoy the magnificent views of Emigrant Peak in the heart of Paradise Valley. The whitewashed vaulted ceilings and beautiful luxury plank flooring marry the living and dining area. The wooden dining room table comfortably seats eight with three additional bar stools in the kitchen island as well as outdoor patio dining options.

The kitchen is thoughtfully outfitted with everything for guests to stay in and make meals with family and friends. Highlights are a gas top stove, quartz counter tops, KitchenAid appliances, refrigerator with an ice maker, dishwasher, all the basic appliances and new Ikea cooking appliances. Plenty of glassware and dish-ware for 10 guests.

Downstairs hosts the 3 guest bedrooms, full guest bathroom, powder bathroom, family room with a comfortable queen pull out couch and working desk with large computer screen which serves as a small office. Both the king guest room and the queen plus twin guest room have windows facing Emigrant Peak. Along with a quaint twin room there is also a laundry closet with a new washer and dryer.

The family room has a sectional couch which can convert into a pull-out queen bed. There is a small library and large flat screen TV with Sonos speakers for entertainment. The family room has a large glass sliding door to the lawn.

Villa Hygge is the perfect luxury basecamp for exploring Yellowstone National Park and southwest Montana.

- "The house was clean and comfortable, had everything we needed. Location was great for daytrips to Yellowstone. It rained much of the time we were at the house so we didn’t get to enjoy the porch, but the view through the floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors was wonderful." - "First of all, the pictures of the views from the house don't do it justice! They're incredible, ever-changing with the sun, clouds and rain, and are mesmerizing. The house itself is very nice, very clean and well stocked. We had two couples and another couple with their 14 & 16-year old children. Everyone had plenty of space to relax, play games, or chill on their own. The Sonos sound system upstairs was great to have. The kids loved the surround-sound system downstairs; the adults never had the TV on upstairs. The kitchen (which has just been renovated beautifully) has tons of plates, assorted glasses, silverware, etc. Also had pretty much any cooking/baking equipment you would need, plus a drip coffee maker and blender, large refrigerator and dishwasher. For some reason, the ice maker in the fridge didn't start working until our last day there, but it was no big deal as we bought our own at the gas station in Emigrant, which you may want to do as it didn't look like the ice maker was big enough to handle over a couple peoples' use per day. There was also everything you needed for the dishwasher and the washer and dryer. The dining table was plenty big enough for all eight of us. The beds were all very comfortable, but be aware that, for some reason, there were no top sheets on any of them; just a fitted sheet and a comforter. Again, no big deal, just an awareness for others. My only (very minor) recommendations for the owners would be to add information about local restaur"

Hiawatha bike trail, Pangea float trip on Clark's fork, horse back riding with ruggs outfitters, exploring on the UTV's, shooting at the range, or just hanging on the patio watching the kids play in the sand beach on the pond.
