The receptionist was super nice and in the morning the front office clerk offered us to open the spa one hour earlier, so nice of him, we had the pool for ourselves for 45 mn. It is very close to the centre of Barbizon, which is such a pretty village - perfect for eating out and for art enthusiasts, although not ideal for a pushchair with all the cobbles! The studio is at the back of a really cool art studio with an eclectic mix of art work, I had the privilege of being shown around and practicing my French with Bernard who is an incredible sculptor. There are also amazing sculptures in the garden, along with fresh apples that we enjoyed eating. They provided us a cot for our baby and the kitchen was reasonably equipped - you might want to bring your own knife for chopping veg, it's one of those things that I think is always worth bringing if you're self catering! It is also gated with private parking so nice and secure and convenient. For the climbers, it is a 5 minute drive through the village to Apremont which has a huge amount of climbing."

- "Very nice charming house fully remodeled with style. We were 6 people, 1 couple sleeping on the comfy sofa. Linen were provided but not the towels (it wasn't clear.on VRBo). The house is well furnish for 6. You need to go through the first bedroom to access the second one. Not a pb for us, but could be for some. There is an additional studio available for rent attached to the house in case you are more than 6. The house is just a couple minutes from Barbizon's center. A cottage (1 to 4 people) located in the center of Barbizon, close to the Museums and shops. The Garden of the Arts is located on the property of a painter. The buildings (18th and 19th century) and within it the magnificent Atelier, were restored by Pierre Barbe, fellow student of Le Corbusier.
The forest is a few minutes' walk away and one of the best climbing sites (Bas Cuvier) is a few minutes by car.

The cottage is duplex (located above a boutique-gallery), a south-facing terrace overlooking a flowered garden. On the ground floor an entrance with wardrobe, a modern bathroom with a large shower and toilet.
