I was there for a family event that was supposed to start at the same time we were supposed to check in so they let us check in a little bit early so we could make it to the party on time. I have an extremely bad back & being freezing cold put my back into knots - I had patches & meds I had to take to make it back home (an 1 1/2 hour car ride) - would I stay there again or recommend this place to anyone else - unless changes are made - its very questionable - we were just looking for a restful stay & a nice shower in the morning...."

Our private Cottage has been recently renovated and includes 2 bedrooms with 1 queen bed in each along with dressers and mirrors. Both bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen & sitting area on the first floor and overlook the river. Both bedrooms have a/c units along with kitchen/ dining area and living room. Large living room & laundry room downstairs. Lots of windows in this Cottage with amazing views allows for an abundance of natural light to pour into the space. There are steps into the house and into the downstairs living room. We have a complimentary washer, dryer, and dishwasher for your convenience with laundry and dishwasher detergent. There are no TV’s.

Make yourself at home in our fully stocked kitchen, equipped with everything you need to cook up a feast—refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, as well as cooking utensils and dinnerware. They also left a second jar of jelly in the front porch for us to take home. I would definitely stay at Deer River Cottage again!"

This site is private yet close to the road. There is 50 amp as well as 110 electrical service at your site. Just behind where you will park is your private picnic pad with a propane grill, picnic table, Adirondack chairs, fire pit, and tiki torches.
There is a gravel path leading back to our cabin on the Deer River, which hopefully will open next spring. You are welcome to walk or bike the trail and enjoy the riverfront back there!
Some of the things to enjoy in the area are the Adirondack mountains just to the south, the Saint Lawrence seaway to the north, and some of the quaint shops in Potsdam. There are many beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails close b to enjoy as well!
For farm raised produce or home-made baked goods we recommend trying one of the local Amish roadside stands. There is an Amish store right across the road that has fresh eggs, veggies, and baked goods, as well as crafts.
