Sandmarsh is a spacious detached holiday bungalow sleeping up to 9, fully furnished and well situated in the lee of the sand dunes at Ynyslas, approximately 1.5 miles from Borth where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and pharmacy / GP. It is a 200 yard walk across the 18 hole links golf course to the fabulous beach - 4 miles of golden sands [dog friendly all year and safe for swimming]. The bungalow has far-reaching views across to the Cambrian Mountains and Plynlimon and is ideally situated for exploring this wonderful corner of West Wales. It is ideal for families with young children, teenagers or adults alike, though it is not suitable for wheelchair users. We accept dogs [up to 2 large/3 small] for a small additional charge. They must be well behaved and regularly de-fleaed, and owners must pick up any mess, double bag it and bin it.
The bungalow is well equipped with everything that you could need for a family holiday, but it is not posh or pretentious in any way - it is a well-loved, well-used holiday home. Parts of its decor and fittings may be considered a bit old-fashioned, but these have accrued over the last 50 years of ownership by our family, and are part of what makes it feel like 'home'.
It has a large living room with plenty of comfy seating, a log fire, telly etc and views to the hills. There are 2 double bedrooms, one triple room [bunks and a single], and one bunk room. The kitchen is relatively small, but well equipped, and there is a large dining/breakfast room with french doors. The washing machine is housed in a small utility room just off the kitchen. There are 2 bathrooms - one with a shower and one with a bath. All linen and towels are provided, and will be serviceable and clean, and we purposely leave some everyday non-perishable staple items such as tea/coffee, oil, herbs, pasta, rice etc and basic toiletries [shampoo etc] for visitor use. We request that these are replaced if you finish them. There are electric heaters in all rooms for winter use.
Outside there is a fenced [but not dog-proof] garden surrounding the bungalow laid to lawn that is safe for relatively young children to play in, a patio area for barbecues, and a double garage. There is a barbecue and deck-chairs etc for your use, and some body-boards/a kayak. There are also some sets of golf clubs for visitor use.
The bungalow has a comfy, homely feel and is a great base for happy family/group holidays or just a quiet break away from it all.
- "Plenty of room for a large family . Stunning location . We had a magic stay . Thank you so much ." - "Wonderful week away with the family at Saltmarsh which is a stones throw from the beach at Ynyslas. Kids had a lovely time and parents had a chance to relax. Property was as described and host communication was fantastic. Thank you." - "Just what we needed and an absolute lovely way to see in the New Year! Quiet, serene and beautiful. Thank you for letting us stay in your property."
