In the Snowdonia National Park, a 5-minute drive from the market town of Dolgellau, Dolgun Uchaf Guest house and Cottages is a farmhouse full of character offering views, well-equipped bedrooms and free Wi-Fi in the public areas. Free parking onsite is also offered. The bedrooms are spacious and modern, and some retain original features such as beams. Each is nonsmoking and has tea/coffee making facilities, a flat-screen TV and an private bathroom with towels and free toiletries. It is a room only rate basis here as we currently do not serve breakfast. We recommend the local cafe 'Y Sospan' which is located only 1.2 miles away and is available from 8am. The cafe can cater for vegetarian and gluten-free diets. Guest can find places to eat in Dolgellau. Cader Idris Mountain is 5 minutes’ drive from Dolgun Uchaf Guest house and Cottages. There are many activities available around the property, including hill walking, pony trekking, golfing, fishing and mountain biking.

The carpark is rough. Staff made an effort to welcome us, offering fresh milk for the room and help with luggage. Rooms were clean but need some updating especially the TV which you couldn't keep plugged in if you wanted to boil a kettle. You have to move the bedside tables to access the sockets by the bed. The bathroom was well appointed with a modern finish. The shower took some working out and you will get wet switching it on! Breakfast was good, nice to have fresh fruit and cooked to order hot dishes. All that said we think it is overpriced."

It is in a picturesque qnd quiet area, and while not in a town, not far to drive for shops etc. The Cottage had a fully equipped kitchen including a slow cooker, stove top, microwave, dishwasher and full oven. The washing machine and dryer were very welcome. The lounge room was also well equipped with free Netflix, and the cottage had good wifi and TV signals. The bed is a double, but comfy. Glenys, the owner is lovely and sent great directions to find the cottage. You will need to find it in daylight. We opted to eat in both nights, TA once and slow cooked meal another. Would stay again. "
