The home is well insulated, double glazed, heated and cooled with a heat pump/air conditioner. We rely on rainwater and a quality filters are installed for excellent drinking water.

While at Bruny Island, our family loves "screen down time, family up time", enjoying the beach, reading and games, so the TV is small and hidden behind a picture. There is no wifi at the house, however there is great 4G reception for mobile devices.

The property is at Lunawanna, south Bruny Island and has been a permanent residence for 3 years and as such is fully and comprehensively facilitated. The property is situated in an absolutely stunning location with water wrapping around 3 sides. Huge decks take full advantage of this with access 20m away and Cemetery beach itself a short 80-100 m amble to the end of the road. There is plenty of parking and boat launching ramps close by. It is fully fenced with outdoor bbq and living areas at both ends, outdoor tables and chairs at both with dedicated wood stashes provided. There is also a Weber gas fired family Q on eastern deck should you want to cook with gas rather than wood. Recent renovations have seen double glazing and blinds, new carpets and floor coverings throughout. In addition the bathroom has been completely renovated with all new bathroom items and tiled floor. A reverse cycle air con has been installed to take the chill off early mornings whilst you wait for the combustion wood fire to do its thing in winter or to provide cool during hot days. Extensive landscaped grounds complete the picture of a well cared for and loved home. The property sits on a double block with extensive bush garden and is fully fenced with waist high fencing. Small to medium sized dogs may be acceptable upon application. Larger dogs that may jump fences will not be considered. There is a $80 extra pet fee per pet.
The property is on Bruny Island and only accessed by car ferry. The ferry leaves from Kettering(about 30km south of Hobart). Ferry timetable can be accessed via Sealink Bruny Island site and is currently $53.20 return. The ferry ride takes 15mins and you disembark at Roberts pt. North Bruny and drive another 45km south to arrive at Lunawanna. On your drive you will pass through Great Bay and the Oyster shack as well as the famous Bruny Island cheese. A little further you cross the neck with the neck lookout on your left and water on both sides of the road. It is a stunning drive through rural idyll and seascapes. At T junction follow the road around to the right and meander through green valleys and wooded hills until you reach the coast again at Alonnah. Here are most services and Lunawanna is another 10min drive south. There is much to see and do on Bruny from some of the best day walks in Tasmania as well as the famous Pennicott cruises which leave from Adventure Bay. Similarly there are many old forest logging trails close by to be explored by adventurous mountain bike enthusiasts. Maps and details are available at the property for the above but you might very well be content just to relax and unwind on the front verandah and simply soak up the ambience and the beauty. There are two plastic sit-upons, paddles and pfd’s available for use and binoculars in the lounge room cupboard...in case you spot the sea eagle souring over head. Lots of books, puzzles and board games can also be accessed by guests. Alonnah pub is a short drive away or , if you are adventurous can be accessed after a short hike around the coast (a basic track for most of the way-takes bout 3hrs return) or Bruny winery and fine dinning is a short walk from the house itself. More details of things to do and see are in the guide book at the house itself. There are basic food essentials including olive oil and cooking oil for bbq-also plenty of bbq tools. If you are keen, there are 3 paella pans...just bring your rice etc and cook up a lovely smoky paella on the bbq...we do...regularly! A small pkt of full fat milk is provided for each stay .

The Stowaway is the perfect central location to soak up the best of what Bruny Island has to offer.

Sleeping up to four, the cottage is only 100m from the water's edge, accessible by the Sheepwash Track at the front of the property. This coastal esplanade will take you to several beaches, and is an easy walk to the only pub on the island, Hotel Bruny.

With sweeping views of Tasmanian mainland, the property boasts a large deck for you to enjoy meals, drinks and stunning sunsets across the water with Hartz Mountains as a backdrop.

The house is set up for you to unwind and soak up the best of Bruny. Use it as a comfortable base to explore incredible bushwalks and landscapes of the island. The only pub on the island is one minute drive, or a 10 minute walk, and for a more upmarket lunch and wine tasting, the vineyard is 5 minutes by car.

Two cosy bedrooms sleep up to 4 adults. The shack is simple with two bedrooms - One with a queen, the other is a double bed. The 2nd bedroom is small, with a luggage rack, bedside table and limited other space. We suggest smaller luggage is suitable for this room.

The shack sleeps up to four, however, given its size the shack is probably best suited to three adults.

The lounge/dining is equipped with heating which heats the entire house quickly, television, NBN wifi, and a powerful portable bluetooth speaker. Games and DVDs are provided.

We understand that accidents happen so ask that should anything be broken or damaged to please let us know so we can replace the item for the next guests.

Wallabies are usually present at the property from dusk to dawn and you will almost certainly encounter them if driving after dark, which we don't advise. If you must, please keep your speed to 20km on our road in particular.

Guest access:
The keysafe is fixed onto the back door and you can use the same key for the front and back doors. If you choose to enter through the back door, you're entering through the bathroom so simply just pop around the front verandah to enter through the front.

The downsides are: the access - 4.5KM on a bush track, which is pretty rough at the end. An SUV, preferably 4WD, but at least with plenty of clearance, is advised. There are no window coverings so it gets light early in summer. Although the house has stunning sea views, the beach is not easy to reach, which is a little frustrating. As it was Christmas holidays, there was a bit of traffic on the beach to and from the Cloudy Corner campground, which reduced the sense of isolation a little, but which was not intrusive. The listing should emphasis these points more strongly as visitors need to be prepared. Overall, an unforgettable experience. We'd love to visit again."

A comfortable weatherboard cottage overlooking Nebraska Beach, which is a few minutes walk away. Great view out over the D'entrecasteaux Channel from the decks at the front and side of the cottage. Ideal for a couple and two small children - or an extra two adults who don't mind sharing a small bedroom! The cottage is up a short but fairly steep gravel track - if you haven't got 4WD, just approach from the south, which avoids the sharp turn off Nebraska Road. Inside, there is one large main room, encompassing kitchen, dining area and lounge, all leading out via French doors onto the deck. On the mezzanine level, there is the main bedroom, with its own deck area outside French doors, a small bedroom with two single beds, bathroom with (very good) shower and washing machine, and separate toilet.
This is a family shack, rather than a smart purpose-built modern house. There is no air-conditioning or dishwasher. No internet either, although there is good mobile reception. Small TV/DVD player. But if you are looking for a house that's a comfortable retreat, close to the beach, sheltered from the wind, and with a beautiful deck area, it is a wonderful place to stay. Bird life and wildlife all around (that's why we say No Dogs!) - and unfortunately that may include mosquitoes in the summer months - buzzers and coils are in the cupboards. BBQ out on the deck for summer and a wood-burner for snuggling up inside in winter.

The space
This meticulously-crafted two-bedroom home is built on raised piers, so that it seems to float above the land on the lower part of an attractive bush block. The boundary meets the Crown Reserve on the sheltered shores of an inlet of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel.
This dwelling has a hexagonal floor plan with large windows to maximise the superb water views. In the entrance hall and the open living area there's the warmth of exposed timber beams, pine panelling and a polished hardwood floor. An unusual feature is a wall of reclaimed convict bricks, many with thumb-marks. Warmed by the wood-fired range and the sun, the wall acts as a heat sink in the centre of the home. The master bedroom enjoys sensational views through full-height windows with a Queen bed. The second bedroom also has a Queen. The bathroom has a clawfoot bath, vanity and basin.
Solar panels feed into a battery bank for power and lighting. Most windows are double-glazed for maximum energy efficiency. A beautiful wood burning heater heats the home in the cooler months, and ceiling fans circulate the air in the warmer months. There is also a refrigerator, washing machine, coffee machine, and a modern composting toilet.

Connectivity
We have high speed Starlink internet which is the best you'll find on the Island, as connectivity can be an issue on an isolated Island. For that reason we do ask guests to be patient with power outages etc, as these things can happen and it can take time to have them rectified due to the isolation. Luckily we have a wood heater to keep you toastie in case this is a problem during your stay. Generally we have been very lucky with our internet and power but we just like to let everyone be aware of what may be experienced with Island Life.

The Bedrooms
Each bedroom has a King Bed with soft sheets and pillows (plus more pillows in the wardrobes available if you want something different) and more blankets if required. There is space in the built in wardrobes for you to utilise to help make yourself at home. Both bedrooms boast King Size Beds with Electric Blankets to help keep you toastie during the cooler months.

Lounge Area
The lounge has 2 incredibly comfortable leather lounges - a 2.5 seater and a 2 seater for you to relax on while watching the 65inch TV, Sony DVD Player and Sony Soundbar. The TV has Prime Video, Disney & Netflix available for your viewing pleasure. There is also a Nintendo Wii U for the gamers amongst us, many many many DVDs for watching, books for reading, blankets and pillows for your comfort and electric heated blankets located in the front bedrooms' wardrobe if you need something a bit warmer.

A dining table with 6 comfortable seats. Assorted games on offer to help keep the laughs coming and make your stay even more enjoyable and fun.

Kitchen
A fully equipped kitchen for the avid cooker - You are most welcome to use everything available to you to cook up a storm! We try to keep oil, basic condiments and some herbs and spices available for your use.

Coffee Station
A new Nespresso Coffee Pod Machine is now available so you don’t have to miss out on your caffeine fix! There is also regular coffee and tea available if you prefer. Milk is generally also available.
We run off tank water, and have a water filter for drinking water plus also a water filter in the fridge for cold filtered water.

Located on the waterfront of Alonnah and 2 minutes walk to the swimming beach. 2-minute drive / 700m to Bruny hotel restaurant, direct access to the 3km walking track and the beach and 5 minutes drive to Winery.

The property features three-bedroom family holiday house with 3-bathroom, a spacious living area adjoined with a dining space and includes a well-equipped kitchen. The living has reverse cycle heating and woodfire heater.

Both at living and the two- queen bedrooms are fitted with huge windows and glass doors on the living that looks straight out to the ocean and a great outdoors area equipped with a BBQ and dining table. There is plenty of parking by the house. Access to the property is via a dirt road which is pretty well maintained, but does have some bumps. It is a 10 minute drive to the Adventure Bay township and there are three beaches within 10 minutes drive.

Banyula Cove by Tiny Away is a charming tiny house located on North Bruny Island, Tasmania. There's nothing cozier than an island escape, far from the city's buzz. So swing by and explore one of Bruny's most snug holiday homes.

This cozy 190-square-foot tiny home features a lofted queen-sized bed and a convertible single-bed couch on the ground floor. It has easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include a flushed toilet, hand basin, and gas heated shower.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For your convenience, the toilet is connected to a septic system. All other waste (e.g. toilet paper, tampons, pads) must be disposed of in the garbage bins provided to prevent clogs.

Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny home and surroundings, except "The Bungalow", shed and immediate areas are private. Please take note that guests are advised to stay on cleared areas & paths.

“Banyula” means "place of many trees" in the Aboriginal language. Located on North Bruny Island, Tasmania (7150), it features a small beach called Banyula Cove, with Half Moon Bay forming the eastern shore of Quarantine Bay.

Bruny Island offers many attractions — brochures and maps are available in the tiny house or from your land host. Vehicle access to Banyula Cove is only via the property through the tiny house.

Local recommendations: Visit Snug Falls — a scenic year-round waterfall on the Snug River, fed by Morrison Hill tributaries.

Getting Around:
By car: Private transport or hire car (Hobart & Airport) is required both to and from Bruny and to get around the Island.

By public transport: No public transport is available on Bruny Island.

In short - great location, and great “land host” - the person whose property the Tiny House is located on. But the property? Really really disappointing. No TV. Yes, I get that it’s about the location - but tell me this beforehand. As a solo traveller without a heads-up, I didn’t even take a book. No coffee, no basic cooking stuff - I I took food but wasnt able to cook it. The wall heater. Even with the blades directed at their lowest point, the air was directed at the loft bed. The sitting/lounge area was freezing and the loft/bed area stifling. The steep loft stairs were evident in the marketing - no problem. But take note - the mattress is on the floor and you need to crawl to bed. I can’t crawl on my knees - this was a deal-breaker for me. I have communicated with both the “land host “ and the Tiny House Owner prior to posting this feedback. The target market is a fit single/couple looking for a glamping experience. If you don’t fit this profile - consider other options."

The space
This beautiful home has been clad in macrocarpa pine and is situated on a sloping hill, with large windows offering stunning water views from all rooms.
The central living area and kitchen are open plan and have been styled in a neutral palette with comfortable, plush couches and a dining table for meals. At night, watch the flickering firelight inside in front of the newly installed fireplace, or outside around the fire. The kitchen offers a large stove and oven, a coffee machine, Tasmanian oak bench tops, stainless steel appliances and is fully equipped for your use.
Bamboo flooring throughout the home extends out to the gorgeous deck which can also be accessed through the Master suite which has a comfortable King bed. The private bathroom includes a walk in shower and a free standing bath positioned right under a window!
The second and third bedrooms are also blessed with incredible views and have built in wardrobes. One bedroom houses a King which can also be converted to singles, and the other bedroom has a Queen bed. There are 2 queen fold out sofas for extra guests as needed.
This property is home to abundant wildlife including wallabies, quolls and possums and has been extensively landscaped. The surrounding gum trees provide a peaceful retreat for families or couples looking for a very special getaway.
Laundry facilities include a washing machine and dryer, and a BBQ grill is available to use on the deck overlooking the D'Entrecasteux channel above the gardens.

- "We just spent the last 3 nights here and had the best time. We bought bread from the bread fridge and honey from the honey shop and had so many nights just relaxed with a fire playing board games. The view cannot be beaten. The house is perfection and felt like a home away from home… with a much better view. There were paddymelons all around as well which had my kids so happy!"

- "We had an amazing time and the Bruny Island lodge for four nights over the New Year period. Ben was incredibly helpful as a host and was very accommodating with all the uncertainty that came with COVID. The place itself was exactly as shown in the pictures with everything that we needed. The only thing that could have been improved slightly was some additional details in the guest information pack around the use of some of the amenities. I ended up calling Ben to get some guidance on some of these things, but I think it would improve the experience significantly if these were included in the guest compendium. Things that I can think of were - What happens if pilot in hot water systems goes out (turn generator off/on again). - Where to find the pilot light in the gas oven. - The wifi network is not available for internet use. - Using the turbo cool function on the fridge on arrival, and when turning the generator back on in the morning. - Turning the ice machine off during the evening to reduce noise. Other than that, there is little else that I would fault this place on. Will 100% be returning again!"
