- "This property was great. The views of the lake were enough to make us happy but this property offered so much more. It was a very spacious house and was great for our group of 12. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, two living areas, and a spacious kitchen to prepare meals in made our stay very comfortable. There was plenty of dining seating as well. There were so many amenities on site that we didn’t even have time to utilize them all. The newly installed hot tub and pickleball court were great new additions to the property as well. (FYI, bring your own paddles and balls). We only left the property to go hiking at Lake Bob Sandlin State Park and to eat dinner one night at Vaughan’s catfish on the lake… both of these are 15-20 mins from the house. The house was clean and cozy and had plenty of parking in the circle drive. I would highly reccomend a stay here. It would be even better in the summer when you can utilize the lake and the pool in warmer weather. It’s a perfect place for family gatherings, or a girls/guys trips. "

Guests are free to roam the ranch property which includes expanses of wooded acreage where wildlife and birds abound. Fishing on the lake is available on a "catch and release" basis to ensure fishing remains good for future guests. Lakes are stocked with bass, catfish and bream.

Treehouse is located in a forrested section of a 56 acre ranch. It is a cozy upstairs getaway with a queen bed, sitting area, full kitchen and bath, with a commanding view of the eight acre Lake below. Situated on the second floor of a detached carriage house garage the Treehouse offers a private deck where guests can sit and take in the spectacular views of the lake. The many windows that overlook the woodlands and lake give it that treehouse feel. The guests also have a private stone patio and grill. Accommodations at Treehouse are first class. All bedding including quilts and comforters are washed between every booking.

The lake behind Treehouse is fully stocked with Florida bass, bream, and catfish. All fishing is catch and release to ensure the fishing remains good for future guests . The dock has a small boat provided for getting out on the lake. Please note swimming is strictly prohibited.

The cabin is perfect for a two family share. It comfortably sleeps 8. Arrangements include two bedrooms downstairs (king and queen), 2 bathrooms both en-suite. The “kids” loft upstairs looks over the main living area and is furnished with two iron twin trundles. There’s beautiful lake views from all bedrooms.

There is also a laundry room equipped with a full size washer and dryer, iron and ironing board.
The back porch will quickly be your favorite place with its panoramic lake views. Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening refreshment as you take in the beautiful sunset from either a deep seating area and or the dining area. The lower deck has a six seater granite top. Additionally, there’s a charcoal Weber grill and a chimenia. We have some wood at the front of the house for your use, but can’t guarantee how much will be there.

Pinehill additionally offers a lakeside firepit with 6 Adirondack chairs for your comfort...perfect to enjoy the beautiful Bob Sandlin sunsets..and of course s'mores!!!

As you make your way to the lake the house has a boat dock, perfect for pier fishing and availability to tether your boat to the dock(you can access our private lake boat ramp at the end of the street).

If additional bedrooms are needed our neighbors 2 doors down rent out their finished loft above the garage as well. Rates and photos available upon request.

Our two-story log home boasts a vaulted ceiling with a stone fireplace and stands proudly on its authentic style stone foundation, offering stunning lake views. It features three bedrooms, two baths, and spans 1500 square feet, complemented by 1000 square feet of decks and porches, as well as a 1200 square foot boathouse. The cabin's woodsy charm is enhanced by custom stained glass, vintage artwork, and handcrafted log furniture. Sunlight streaming through the stained-glass windows adds warmth and vibrancy to our home. The dining area seamlessly connects to a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator, ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and blender, with a washer and dryer in the utility room. A large breakfast counter/food prep area features a mosaic of the Texas Flag and cleverly conceals a complete entertainment center with TV, YouTube TV, Netflix, DVD, and Video Game System, along with a selection of music, movies, and games. Wi-Fi is available. Should it rain, the back porch features rocking chairs, bench swing and dining for 6, making it the ideal spot to listen to the patter of rain on the tin roof.

Each bedroom is outfitted with comfortable queen-sized beds and smart televisions. The mattresses are recent and vary from plush to hybrid and memory foam models. The downstairs master bedroom, with antique furnishings, offers a splendid lake view—the perfect scene to wake up to. The two upstairs bedrooms—one overlooking the lake and the other the treetops—are equally inviting. Our property is ideal for couples, families, or a friends' getaway, comfortably accommodating six guests (three queen beds). The cabin can sleep up to 4 guests with a full-size bed in the bedroom, and a new pull-out Sleeper Sofa (also a full/double-size mattress - sleeps 2 together). And the Living area/Kitchen has all new furniture -- including a larger fridge with separate freezer compartment.

Fully furnished with all bedding, towels and kitchen essentials including a toaster oven, coffee bar, microwave, and snacks provided. Relax on the back porch in the swing, while listening to the beautiful sounds of nature and make this a perfect getaway from all of the hustle and bustle of city life while enjoying the serenity of the outdoors.

You can enjoy the view of the lake from the porch swing while having coffee in the morning, or gazing at the sunset with your favorite libation.

Lake Bob Sandlin covers approximately 9,000 acres with 120 miles of shoreline known for excellent fishing and is home to plenty of wildlife, including herons, ducks and many other birds. And you can't miss all the deer, squirrels, and raccoons running around!

Also, since we have a private boat ramp just 2 houses away, it's perfect for anyone wanting to bring their own boat, coming for a local fishing tournament, or maybe just a weekend fishing getaway! And you can tie up at our private boat dock connected to our property.

If you're not into fishing, feel free to explore the local wineries, places to eat, antique shopping and our very own Texas Exotic Animals Zoo (texasexoticanimals.com), just minutes away. One of our favorite wineries is Los Pinos Ranch Winery, just South of Pittsburg - about 20 minutes away. Details can be provided upon booking.

Located near Mount Vernon, Mount Pleasant and Pittsburg, the Rustic Retreat cottage is 2 hours from Dallas and Shreveport. Located conveniently across the lake from Lake Bob Sandlin State Park on State Hwy 21.

The hosts are very thorough in conveying their requests/guidelines for guests as well as any minor quirks that are helpful to know when staying at a VRBO. They were also very considerate and checked in partway through our stay to make sure everything was okay for us. I appreciated all of it. The kitchenette was well-equipped and there was a generous supply of snacks available. :)"

We love this winery and what better way to enjoy it by saying on the property :) Everyone is so wonderful and the hospitality is amazing. We developed new friendships and would highly recommend this cottage. Loved it!" - "This is to celebrate our 14 year anniversary. The cottage was beautifully put together, the Jacuzzi was to die for. Time spent in the jacuzzi was the best relaxed I have been for awhile. The restaurant was exquisite we spent most of our time on the outdoor area of the restaurant. All the staff were knowledgeable and helpful, The wine tasting room was pleasant, we enjoyed the music Friday night and Saturday night. The selections of wine were extensive, we end up buying 4 different bottles, though we went into town for a bit there is no reason to leave the property Kudos to the owners, the executive chef (she came to our table during Sunday brunch), the hostesses and the waitstaff we were treated very well. We will definitely be going back"
