Located just a short drive from the excitement of the city (Aggieland) it's the perfect retreat for game day weekend. Bring the whole family for lots of fun.

Our little cabin has been a family jewel since 1983! Four generations have enjoyed the property over the years and now our grandchildren love it so much, they never want to leave! Since we've always had such wonderful family time here, we decided to share it with others when we aren't using it ourselves! We are 2 - 2 1/2 hours from Houston, Dallas, & Austin so we are a great place to meet in the middle for a lot of Texas families! This fabulous little cabin has 2 bedrooms with 2 custom designed bunk beds (queen on bottom & twin on top) in each room which sleep a total of 12 people. It has 2 full baths with both a shower and a tub, a large open kitchen completely stocked with everything you need, a living area with 3 comfy couches plus a TV/Stereo/DVD Player/Movie Library, and a dining table that seats 8 with additional seating at the island and game table for a total of 14. While the inside is spectacular, we prefer spending the majority of our time on the large tree shaded outside deck overlooking the lake. Sunsets are majestic from this location and at night, the patio lights throughout the property add a mystical ambiance to the evening. If you prefer sitting by a fire, we've got a large fire pit and a steady woodpile waiting to host the day's fishing tales, ghost stories, or even our favorite, popcorn and s'mores! During the day, guests can enjoy easy access to the water, sunbathing via our boat dock, or kayaking in the calm waters of our cove. The property is lined with trees on both sides, so you will feel as though you are the only people who know about this secret paradise. Having this much private space is a rare find at the lake!!!! Lake Limestone is famous for its great fishing, and a lot of it can be found a few yards in front of the dock! Fish species include large mouth bass, striped bass, crappie, brim, and catfish. Whatever your interest, from quiet relaxation with a good book and a glass of wine, to spending the day filled with activities on the water, this property will fill the need! We even have a play area for the kids! There is nothing better in this world than spending time with family/friends while making memories that will last a lifetime!

Pool is completely private and built in the house with access from living Room and two doors from the outside. the pool is heated at 85" and is completely enclosed with a private bathroom. The pool has a measurement of 10’x28’ and has steps leading to a depth of 2’ and gradually gets to 5 1/2”.

Trying to figure out sleeping arrangements? The master bedroom is located in the back of the house with two doors to the pool and offers a King size bed, Fireplace and ensuite bathroom. there are bedrooms in front of the house that share a hall bathroom and 2 additional bedrooms are located in the on the side and share a bathroom but also have private sinks in the walk-in closet and bedroom close to the kitchen that has a queen bed. There are 2 twin size cots available for your use which allow us to accommodate up to 15 guests.

The space:

We have provided numerous outdoor activities for all including: 2 adult and 1 junior kayak. horseshoes, croquette, hammocks, kiddie pool, outdoor baby playpen, , and various floats.

The main house kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans, serving dishes, gadgets, and a Keurig. We also provide some spices and oils.

If you are bringing a boat, there is a private neighborhood ramp (and private house pier) for your use.

In the main house, there are a variety of boardgames, card games, books, and movies for your entertainment.

Also provided are a highchair, bouncer, pack n play, and baby bathtub.

Guest access
Guests have access to all aspects of our property besides locked shed and locked closets.

Other things to note:

There are countless activities at the property- both outside on sunny days and indoors on rainy days. Kayaks, floats, a big floating mat, horseshoes, board games, over 100 movies, puzzles, and much more!

Our main kitchen is fully stocked with cooking accessories, pots, pans, utensils, etc. We love to cook and entertain and so have provided all the things necessary to do so at the lake!

We do have keurig machines and provide some single-use cups, but if you are an avid coffee drinker, please bring more for yourself. The main house has a drip coffee maker for your use also.

Our outdoor kitchen has a gas grill with rotisserie attachment, a beer fridge, and other grilling accessories.

“Shop Small”, family ran business! Anyone needing a place to stay, out of the big city lights this is for you. Even Baby Jesus was born and slept in a barn.

Down the hallway you will find two bedrooms and a full bathroom with powder room attached, with plenty of mirrors. Owner Lori, lives on the other end of the house, home divided by a locked door, for your privacy and ours. Similar to a duplex set up. Come enjoy our sweet farmhouse located between Calvert and Franklin, Tx. We are a 5th generation rancher, come hang out on the porch under the stars with us or alone plenty of outdoor lighting.

This unit does NOT have a full kitchen, more like a hotel stay in a duplex style older ranch house. A few bbq and kitchen ware are located in clear tote. No sink or stove.

- "I originally booked this for our family of 6. Due to kids schedules only one parent and one child stayed. The listing describes that it's connected like a duplex but we didn't expect to hear so much. It felt a little uncomfortable, like we were invading their privacy. Also it made us worry about being too loud for them, I would have been really anxious if we had all gone because our little kids are NOT quiet.There is no control of the AC and it was freezing!! We didn't reach out and ask for them to change the temperature but the hosts were very kind when we did reach out (even let us know we left something behind and helped us get it back) so I'm sure they would have honored the request. We just felt bad asking. This is why I say it's not the set up for us. The location to Franklin ball fields was excellent."

The Property although secluded, offers a Brookshire Brothers Grocery as well as a couple dollar stores within miles to replenish supplies. All the comforts of home and an outstanding OWNER experience made this a perfect stay. Shirley made herself available should we had any questions or concerns. The Kitchen was well stocked with all cooking utensils needed to prepare a meal, or warm something in the microwave. The Beds comfy, and the Homey decor made us feel right at home. There was a smart TV with multiple move channels and Strong WIFI (if you can't just totally disconnect while away.) We will definitely book again when working or staying in the area."

I suggest showing up during the day because if you have city people with you like I did, they might freak out not being able to see their surroundings. I personally was not scared and love how the secluded area is. also there is zero Wi-Fi or cell service inside the house but sitting on the porch I was able to get cell service. very clean I would definitely stay there again. Huge plus in my opinion was the water pressure in the shower!!"

- "We were a bit skeptical to rent this house since there were no reviews (turns out we were the first ones to rent it) and we couldn’t have been more pleased. We loved that we had two different houses on the same property; it gave each family their own space. Everything was so clean. The owners were very attentive and had everything provided for us. Both houses had Wi-Fi and multiple TVs which was great for the kids once we came inside, but with so much space outside, they never wanted to stay inside. The hot tub overlooking the lake was also a big hit with the kids (and adults!!) There are too many great things about this property to list them all, but we really enjoyed our stay. We will be booking here again soon and can’t wait to come back!"
