This cottage, which is close to the village of 'El Raso' on the southern slope of the peak of 'Almanzor' is perfectly situated for exploring the areas of the 'Valle del Tietar', the 'Gredos regional park' and the area of 'La Vera' in 'Extremadura'. The views from the Finca are spectacular; to the north us we have the magnificent splendour of The Sierra de Gredos with the ‘Pico de Almanzor’ @2592m watching over us. This peak is within walking distance from the casitas although not for the faint hearted. From the south we can see as far as 100km to the mountains of ‘Las Villuercas’ and Toledo across the ‘Campo Arañuelo’.

A nature lovers’ paradise with an abundance of birds and butterflies to keep even the keenest of naturalists occupied for hours on end. The habitat within only a short distance from the Finca covers grassland plains, Dehesa (Holm Oak woodland); the reservoirs of ‘Navalcan’ and ‘Rosarito’ are connected by the River Tietar, one of the great rivers of central Spain. The landscape then rises through mixed broad leafed woodland and scrubland finally being topped off by moorland heath and the high mountain topography of the ‘Sistema Central’ of Spain.
Within the extensive gardens (10,000m²) there is enough space to find a quiet spot to read a book, relax in the shade or dip in the pool on a hot day.

Each of us loved Candeleda independently for years, and unbeknownst to know what became a family project for the future to which we devote many years of effort and love.

We wanted our children to grow up in a natural and rural environment and after years of research and about to throw in the towel we were offered the chance and fell in love instantly dogs and house.

Our neighbors welcomed us with open arms and we opened the doors of his house giving us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in their habits and learn of rural life, they made us feel at home from the start.

For years we concentrate on keeping the essence and learn from this area and its people while educábamos children in love and respect for animals, the countryside and its people.
We work in Madrid, and every weekend we are looking forward, Candeleda is our retreat where privacy and family enjoyed most of our neighbors and friends coming from everywhere.

While our love for this area grew a friend and neighbor wanted to change course, and offered us his home and rural tourism business that much love had dedicated, we decided to take the witness and become hosts of this area we love.
