- "I stayed in Le Grand Ermitage by Nemea for 4 days and the experience was fantastic and just as promised. We were planning to check in very late, so I called them and they made arrangements for us to get into to the unit without any trouble. The receptionist was very friendly. She spoke perfect English and when I told her I am learning French, she started teaching me French. This is a very rare degree of friendliness! If you book via Hotels.com, you get a one-time bed sheet and towel service for free. You then have to pay for any extra service you would like to receive (Change of Towels, Bed Sheet, Shampoo, etc). You also have to pay 5 Euro/night for the parking and city tax, similar to any other vacation rentals in the vicinity. There is a super market 3 km away, so you don't have to take a lot with you. The pool is precisely as seen in the picture. An amazing view of Alpes while you enjoy a heated pool. The only regret is that the opening/closure time is a little too short. (9:00 AM to 7:30 PM). You get a free access to Wifi for one device, but you get a very fast internet in a picturesque lobby if you need to stay connected. You will be asked to clean the unit and bring down sheets/towels which I believe it is a fair requirement (Compared to otherwise imposed payments for cleaning). Again, this is not a Hotel. It is a vacation rental and for a vacation rental it definitely exceeds the standards at this rate."

Restaurant has a very unique menu, with specials varying daily. Don't expect burger and fries, but instead true French imagination (fondue, quiche, etc.) with reasonable (although not cheap) prices. Hotel and restaurant staff speak English very adequately, but will happily talk with you in French and won't automatically switch to English if you struggle a little, but they will help you along. We found this refreshing when trying to use our 30 year out-of-date school French.
