- "My and I booked for a quick stay at Windrose on the Hudson and although we were disappointed that we did not have a view of the Hudson River from the property the property itself was amazing. The property is vast and the hotel itself is confusing, but that added to the charm. It is close to shopping and areas that offer many food optionsas well as its own cafe on the grounds. The property was not built to be a hotel, and you can tell, but the converdion from A GE training site to hotel seems natural. We definitely wanted to be there longer to explore more. "

Both bedrooms have a Queen size bed with a tilting, adjustable mattress powered by a remote. A full bath has good water pressure with toiletries and hair tools provided.The larger bedroom has a 50” 4K (UHD) TV with streaming.

A fully-equipped, eat-in kitchen with modern stainless-steel appliances: a large French-door fridge, a dishwasher, a microwave and a gas stove (with a hood). There are pots, pans, dinner ware and small appliances. There is a powerful blender for smoothie lovers and an espresso/cappuccino maker.

In addition, Black Cow, our local coffee shop, is a 5 min walk. Black Cow has a large variety of different coffee from all around the world and they roast their coffee beans themselves.

Usually I am available to meet and greet all guests. The apartment offers privacy if you prefer but I can also suggest things to do and provide directions to nearby attractions and landmarks as needed.
Although Croton on Hudson is a suburb of New York City, there are some wild animals and birds that you may encounter from time to time. During summer time there are blue jays and other birds living in magnolia trees near the house and on occasion deer and raccoons could be spotted. A beautiful hawk lives nearby and can be seen in the morning as it flies above the house.

Away from industry and pollution, enjoy a breath of clean air and the outdoors. If you go hiking, take note that poison ivy has been spotted in the area and, as always, there are risks of ticks in any woods and tall grass, so dress appropriately. There is abundant information about ticks and tick bites on internet, it is worthwhile to be informed.

Streets in the village are illuminated but driveways tend to be a bit darker. It is noticeably darker at night on the street, compared to a large city like New York, but as an added bonus, you could see stars! Mars’ red dot is easily seen with a naked eye as well as white dots of Jupiter and Saturn. Orion's belt, Ursa Major and Minor, Vega, Polaris and many more to be discovered.

This location was a good hub for local day trips to Westchester County, Tarrytown, Stony Point Battlefield, Legoland, and Bear Mountain State Park. Harriman State Park is also nearby, as are the Nyacks and the Palisades Mall. The full kitchen had a full size refrigerator and freezer, and I'm really happy there was a dishwasher, as we ended up using lots of mugs sipping tea and looking out over the Hudson."

I live on a dead-end street with Sing Sing prison on one side, and the Beautiful Hudson River on the backside. You can see the Hudson River and Tappan Zee bridge from bedroom, living room and kitchen.. I am close to public transportation with an easy ride on the Hudson line from NYC. You can hear and see the train from the deck. Phelps Memorial Hospital-3miles, Rockefeller State Park-4 miles, Pace University-8 miles.

- "My boyfriend and I stayed at Mary Ellen's home for a long weekend. House is located in a quiet cul-de-sac. The backyard was beautiful, we enjoyed sitting at the bar along the deck watching the water and train pass by. The train was quiet during our whole 4 day stay. The inside was perfect, very comfortable. One thing I will note, we brought a lot of frozen food to cook with and did not realize the freezer wouldn't have much room for our food. So, pack light. Newly remodeled 2 bed/1 bath backyard guesthouse with a patio, small porch, and yard. It includes a patio table that gets lots of sun (umbrella included), a small play area for young children, and a full-sized picnic table in the yard that sits under some trees.

The Cottage is a separate dwelling that sits in our backyard in a residential neighborhood that is in a suburb of the greater NYC area. Living on the property enables us to quickly manage issues that may arise and try to make ourselves available for any questions about the area, etc. To allow our guests as much privacy as possible, a privacy wall was added.

Please be aware that we have a poochon who likes to let guests know that he is there. Although we keep him on a leash or in a gated area, at times he has gotten out. He's very friendly with kids, and kids typically love him.

Also, one of our neighbor's chicks grew into a rooster. We have no control over the animals of our neighbors. To counter the noise he might make while guests are trying to sleep (and to help promote sleep for our guests), each bedroom has a white noise machine or fan that should drown out the majority of any noise. If you are very sensitive to noise, however, please consider bringing earplugs.

As hosts, we live in the main house of the property, which offers off street parking and some bicycles if you want to explore the area. Silver Lake, a hidden village beach, is just up the street if you don't want to swim alone at the property amid the ducks, geese and bald eagles. We find it magical and hope you will too.

Easy access to the house from the main road (9A) and only 6 min to Metro North Train. Tired? Alternate with a rest when you come back to your "country getaway". The house offers one very large Master with king size bed. Two smaller rooms each with a twin bed. The sofa in the living room has often accommodated two guests (really good friends) or one adult comfortably. The kitchen is a state of the art with gas stove and contains all the cutlery and condiments you might need. (Grocery store is a 5 min drive). The property is near a main road however, any sound inside the house is snuffed by a beautiful enclosed glass porch. Parking for 4-5 cars with ease (and up to 7 cars with a little diagonal planning in front). A bit of history comes with this house - the tale of the Devil's Footprint and so far no one has been able to find it. Contact us for information and clues about where it might be. As well, If you have kids that you'd like to put in camp - so you can laze around and have long brunches - there are many options which I am happy to recommend (Hudson Sailing School, Sprout day camp, Croton Theatre Arts Camp, etc.).

This is a sweet 2 bedroom house in the charming Historic Village of Ossining. Large eat in kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry facilities, 1.5 bathrooms, a deck off the kitchen and back yard. Parking is on the street.

Walking distance from lots of great restaurants and cafes, as well as the train to NYC.

Our kitchen gives you plenty of space to cook, eat and relax. We have an electric range, full refrigerator and freezer, a table that seats 4 (a couple more chairs can be added)

It opens up to a large deck with a dining table and chairs and a small charcoal grill. From both kitchen and deck you will be able to enjoy our suburban wildlife (mostly birds and squirrels -- but also a large red tail hawk who lives in a tree a couple houses up the hill!)

The laundry nook is right off the kitchen. It includes an iron and ironing board.

Our dining room / library gives you another option for enjoying a bite to eat, reading or playing a game. We keep plenty of books and games in the house, including things to appeal to all ages.

Our living room looks out onto the street, but also maintains a private feel. We have a couch a comfy chair and a couple ottomans... so the whole family can relax and put their feet up! We have a fire tv with a 28 inch screen.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed, 2 large closets and a dresser. We keep extra sheets for both rooms and lots of towels in the closet. This room has a view of the street and gorgeous morning sunlight.

The smaller bedroom has a bunkbed, twin on top and full on the bottom. The bottom has a futon mattress and can fold to a couch or open to the full bed. This room looks out over the back yard.

The upstairs bathroom has a shower and bathtub. There is also a 1/2 bath downstairs off the kitchen.
In the entry way, there is a coat closet.

House is in close proximity to many local restaurants, a supermarket, nature trails and historical sites which makes it an ideal place for a weekend getaway, holidays celebration or business travel. The entire 2 bd 1br apartment is located on the FIRST floor of a multifamily house with a separate entrance.

Tap water is from municipal supply with additional water treatment from a water softener.

To keep a clean house and keep allergens away, please don’t wear outside shoes indoors as there will be individual slippers provided.

Both bedrooms have a Queen bed with an adjustable mattress powered by a remote. Each bedroom has a pair of bedside tables with a pair of lamps and an alarm clock. Each bedroom also comes equipped with an antique dresser as well as a closet with added storage.

A full bath has good water pressure with toiletries and hair tools provided. The main bedroom has a 55” picture-frame-style 4K TV (HDR) with streaming.

A large fully-equipped chef's kitchen with quartz countertop and modern stainless-steel appliances: Thermador gas range, a powerful hood, a large French-door fridge, a dishwasher and a spacious built-in microwave drawer. There are pots, pans, dinner ware and several small appliances: a toaster, a kettle, a coffee maker and an air fryer.

There is a 77” 4K (OLED, HDR) TV in the living room with Netflix, Amazon PV, Max, Apple TV+, Paramount, Hulu and Disney. The latest Xbox Series X to entertain you during evenings as well as 4k Blu-ray playback. A number of recent 4K UHD Blu-ray films are provided. There is also a ‘Art Gallery’ board game.

For those working remotely, there is fast WiFi, a desk. Warm evenings are great to spend outside! There is very private, fenced yard with a couple of comfortable chairs outside to enjoy a book or a good conversation.

There is designated parking for 1 car is provided on the private driveway (see photo of designated parking area). There is also additional free street parking for guests arriving in 2+ cars.

You will have access to the whole apartment. There is key-less entry with a provided code. There will be fresh towels and toiletries provided in the bathroom. In addition, Black Cow, our local coffee shop, is a 5 min walk. Black Cow has a large variety of different coffee from all around the world and they roast their coffee beans themselves.

Usually I am available to meet and greet all guests. The apartment offers privacy if you prefer but I can also suggest things to do and provide directions to nearby attractions and landmarks as needed.

Although Croton on Hudson is a suburb of New York City, there are some wild animals and birds that you may encounter from time to time. During summer time there are blue jays and other birds living in magnolia trees near the house and on occasion deer and raccoons could be spotted. A beautiful hawk lives nearby and can be seen in the morning as it flies above the house.

Away from industry and pollution, enjoy a breath of clean air and the outdoors. If you go hiking, take note that poison ivy has been spotted in the area and, as always, there are risks of ticks in any woods and tall grass, so dress appropriately. There is abundant information about ticks and tick bites on internet, it is worthwhile to be informed.
Streets in the village are illuminated but driveways tend to be a bit darker. It is noticeably darker at night on the street, compared to a large city like New York, but as an added bonus, you could see stars! Mars’ red dot is easily seen with a naked eye as well as white dots of Jupiter and Saturn. Orion's belt, Ursa Major and Minor, Vega, Polaris and many more to be discovered.

The Farmhouse at Fort Hill is a one of a kind, artistic place to pause, enjoy time away, and immerse yourself in nature’s wonders.

The first floor features a well equipped kitchen, spacious dining room that seats six, a half bathroom and a tastefully decorated living room with a working fireplace and impressive views.

On the second floor you’ll find a master bedroom with a double bed and more impressive views, a second bedroom with two twin beds (and a curtain door), and a third bedroom that offers a pullout sofa and a large, internet-connected TV. The upstairs bathroom offers a full-size shower and soaking tub.

Outdoors, there’s a large backyard with fenced-in patio, a Weber grill and picnic table, as well as a fire pit.

The separate original LR with fireplace has a pull-out for sleepovers. Commutable to the city, and a world away when you get home.

Our home is generously appointed, with original artwork and a well-stocked library for your enjoyment, and all bathrooms have been updated to high standards. For those needing a soak, the seasonal hot tub and pool are available in summertime, and in the off-season a lovely claw foot tub awaits indoors. Also, separate entrances allow for single level living if needed, modern conveniences and country living in comfort, with 2 bedrooms downstairs and one up.

This house is entirely yours when you stay here, with only a couple spaces locked and out of bounds for guests: the basement, a closet and an upstairs office are reserved for the owners' belongings and mechanicals.

Writers, painters, singers, statesmen, dancers, communists and a parade of wild-eyed bon vivants have frequented this street and this very home for over a century – you have big shoes to fill! If you haven’t yet seen the movie “Reds” starring Warren Beatty, you should - much ado about Croton on Hudson, and the protagonists house still stands right around the corner from here.
