- "I have stayed at multiple VRBO units all over the country. The host is always key to a successful stay. John is way up at the top of the list. There was nothing we needed. The best VRBO host has thought of everything. You should not have to call to ask for anything. Get the code, Walk in and it should be like home. Too bad there are only 5 stars. John is a 10." - "This carriage house was spacious and everything you would need for a weekend trip. Located in a great spot near Peekskill and close to other neighboring towns. I highly recommend!"

Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley offering hiking in the Harriman State Park, Bear Mtn, Muscoot farm (great for little kids), horseback riding as well as local incredible spots; Croton Gorge Dam, Croton Point Park, Croton Landing, Tea Town Lake Reservation, Jane Arboretum and a fantastic Swimming Hole/beach all within minutes. Experience farm-to-table dining in The Hudson Valley. And, in a 46min ride along the Hudson River, you can be enjoying the endless supply of cultural events museums and restaurants to explore in NYC. Easy access to the house from the main road (9A) and only 6 min to Metro North Train. Tired? Alternate with a rest when you come back to your "country getaway". The house offers one very large Master with king size bed. Two smaller rooms each with a twin bed. The sofa in the living room has often accommodated two guests (really good friends) or one adult comfortably. The kitchen is a state of the art with gas stove and contains all the cutlery and condiments you might need. (Grocery store is a 5 min drive). The property is near a main road however, any sound inside the house is snuffed by a beautiful enclosed glass porch. Parking for 4-5 cars with ease (and up to 7 cars with a little diagonal planning in front). A bit of history comes with this house - the tale of the Devil's Footprint and so far no one has been able to find it. Contact us for information and clues about where it might be. As well, If you have kids that you'd like to put in camp - so you can laze around and have long brunches - there are many options which I am happy to recommend (Hudson Sailing School, Sprout day camp, Croton Theatre Arts Camp, etc.).
- "There is plenty of living space and the kitchen is great. It made it very easy for the family to hang out together." - "The property is really great. We enjoyed our weekend out of the city!" - "What can I say? This was an absolutely perfect home. Geraldine and Israel went over and above to make sure our stay was nothing short of perfect, down to the personal details. One of our favorite VRBO stays!" - "The homeowners are easy to work with and attend to the details that make a stay most relaxing. The home has a gorgeous kitchen and eating area. Great stay!"

Close to Woodbury Commons and Legoland. Many other amenities including a washer and dryer.
- "We recently stayed here while visiting our son at West Point. The house is a nice older home that provided us what was needed. We were not able to check in until well after dark so we did have look closely to determine if we had the correct house. An outside light would have been helpful. Overall nice stay" - "Nice entryway, lots of room for shoes. 1st and 3rd floor bedrooms were spacious. Nice size livingroom. Need more cookware for kitchen, and would recommend fixing the exhaust fan in the bathroom, and a better foundation for the attic bed. Moving slats caused the mattress to sag, especially at the foot of the bed. We would stay again. "

We are in the heart of downtown Peekskill. You can walk everywhere, so no car is needed! You have free street parking, cool amenities, & epic views of the mountains & city skyline. Just 1 train, 1 boat, or 1 Hr drive from NYC. The house is bright, colorfully decorated, filled with sunlight, & an artistic minimalistic style. Between your room, the comfiness of the house, your chill hosts, our local tips, & Peekskill's constant events, you have everything you need to enjoy your downtown Peekskill.
From the guest suite, you have an amazing view of the mountains and city. The suite gets an amazing amount of sunlight, and you can hear the birds in the morning as you start your day. The entire house is keyless, so it is impossible to get locked out or lose your keys ;-). The 750 sq ft suite includes a bedroom with a king-sized bed, standing mirror and sofa, a private full bathroom, and a living room with another sofa, a 50-inch TV, a dining table with chairs, a fridge, a coffee machine, and a microwave. Your room also has bathrobes and disposable slippers for each adult guest. If you have a favorite or super comfy house slippers, please feel free to bring them, as the house is shoeless, and I want all my guests to feel right at home.
The house is in downtown Peekskill, so there is no need for a car. The easiest way to get here is to hop on the Metro North train from NYC at either Grand Central or Harlem. It is 1 train, 5 stops, and 1 hour. As the house is downtown, you can enjoy the bars, restaurants, local events, festivals, theater, live music, and comedy shows by walking for 3-15 mins.
I greet all my guests at the house, as it gives me a chance to make sure you feel right at home, explain how the locks work, and make recommendations for your stay (if needed). Once you are checked in, if you need me, ping me on the app. Check-in is between 3 pm-8 pm. Most of the time, I can accommodate a late or overnight check-in, but that would need to be agreed upon at the time of your reservation. Though you might not see me much during your stay, I will find some time to say goodbye before you go!
To get to Peekskill, you have tons of options. You can take a cruise from Manhattan down the Hudson ( I know, very cool). You can take the train from Manhattan. It is one train, a few stops, and about an hour. From the Peekskill Train Station, you can walk 15-20 minutes to the house, Uber, or message me for a pick-up (it's $10). You can also take the train to Croton-Harmon and Uber to the house. If you are coming from the airport, you can Uber (it is between $50-150 depending on the airport and time of day). If you ask in advance, sometimes I can do airport or Manhattan pickup or drop off for the same price as Uber. Pick-ups and drop-offs are not services; it is just something I am happy to do when I have the time. I recommend taking the train from Grand Central or Harlem.
Besides hosting, I also have a few local tour experiences and private tours: 1. A 3-hour food and culture tour of downtown Peekskill. 2. A half-a-day wine tour where we drive through NY wine country 3. An all-day wine and shopping tour. Guest staying with me get a discount, so if you are interested, feel free to message me.

You have free street parking, tons of amenities, and the pleasure of enjoying a great view of the city and mountains skyline. Your reservation also includes hotel amenities, and a few other surprises to make your stay great. Between your room and our local tips, you will have everything you need to enjoy the city, Hudson Valley, and New York's Wine Country!
The house is my primary residence and I allow guests to book when I am away on vacation or for
their special events (drives. weddings and West Point family visits). The house is split into two parts the main house and then the guest suite. During your reservation, you will have the main house to yourself. The house is amazing with popping colors, high ceilings, amazing mountain and city skyline views, downtown and walkable to most places, city with a taste of nature and spacious.
The house can only be reserved by two groups. 1. Wedding groups (bridesmaids, groomsmen, other participants in the wedding, or parents/grandparents of the bride/groom). 2. West Point parents/ grandparents coming to see their kids. The house can only be booked over the weekends and can spill over a day or two into the week (ex. Thurs-Sunday or Friday-Monday), if you want to reserve more than 2 days, please message to find out if it's possible. If I can make it happen, I will.
In your reservation, you will have 3- 5 bedrooms depending on the season, a living room with a dining and lounge area, 1 full bathroom, and a kitchen. As this is my primary residence some areas of the house will not be accessible to guests, some areas of the kitchen will have my own personal stuff and other areas that will be designated 100% to your group, and my personal belongings will be throughout the house, so please respect my home and my privacy. The house can sleep a max of 13 people (max 10 adults and max 6 kids) with 3 kings beds and 2 queen beds. I mainly rent to adults only, but I am happy to allow children, but please know the house stairs and does not have any child safety features installed (ex. there are no outlet covers or kids' supplies).
On check-in, the person that made the reservation and I will do a walk-through to confirm that you are getting the house in a clean and working order. You will also need to provide ids for yourself and all your guests. On check-out, we will do another walk-through together to confirm that you are returning the house in clean and working order without any damages or missing items. If anything is damaged or missing, you will be expected to pay for it before you checkout.
During your stay no visitors or guests may enter the house, if you would like to have a guest please message me to see if it is ok. If you are a West Point Parent, your child is free to come and go as needed during your stay (there is no need to message me about our child visiting the house, as I am glad that you are getting some quality moments in with them). However, they can not sleep over or have keys/ access codes to the house unless you add them to your reservation. If you are a bride or groom, you may reserve the house for your wedding party (even if you are not staying in the house with them), but you are ultimately responsible for any damages and your guest's behavior during their stay. You are also free to come and go as needed during that time. However, you can not sleep over unless you add yourself to your reservation.
The house is downtown, you have free access to street parking, you can walk pretty much everywhere (please see the list below of popular spots and check out my free guidebook). As part of your stay, everyone will have bathrobes, disposable slippers, sleep masks, bath toiletries, and a welcome snack. The person making the reservation will receive a bottle of wine from one the local vineyards in the Hudson Valley, as a thank-you for picking my home. There is also a self-pay snack bar in the house four when guests get the munchies and don't want to go to the store ;-).
If anyone else besides these two groups makes a reservation, your reservation will be canceled and without a refund. Also, I am sadly not able to host any animals of any kind. I have severe allergies to all animals, animal fur, and pet dander, among other things. So, as this is my primary home, I am sadly not able to accommodate any animals for my own health and safety. On the bright side, you can take comfort that all your sheets and linens are washed with organic and fragrance-free products ;-).
