For starters I was booked in at the red maple but you have to go to the motel across the road to check in. The bathroom is tiny and it only has a shower stall, no tub. The shower was dark with no light inside and no where to put soaps. The room had one set of towels and no bath mat. The only electrical outlets were beside the door and in the bathroom. The TV was so small you can’t read the TV guide. The bed is t on a real frame, just a box made of boards. And the only furniture was patio furniture. The blanket on the bed was an old itchy wool blanket. I won’t stay there again. "

The apartment faces the back of their beautiful property and presents a wonderful view. Our hosts were there in a heartbeat when we needed them, and otherwise left us in peace. There is a firepit in the back of the property where we ended each evening of our visit. The care and attention to detail and the needs of their guests is apparent in everything about the place. You will not be disappointed. Also it is a short walk from Tacos and Tequila, the neighbourhood restaurant. Very good food, (try the fish tacos), and excellent service. - "Our stay at Hillside Shores Beachfront Cottage was absolutely wonderful. We stayed here in April for the 2024 Eclipse and had a wonderful wonderful time. The cottage is 100% just as described and the views of lake Erie are spectacular. Lake Erie was very calm for us most of the time and if the water had been warmer, we would have been on the water every single day. Gorgeous beaches are not too far away as is a outdoor adventure facility with zip lining, axe throwing and other activities. The waterfront on the property met all our needs and has a small fire pit and lots of seating for watching the lake. Inside, the cottage comes equipped with a lot of board games and a smart TV for evening wind down fun and entertainment. The Wifi connection is particularly strong and more than good enough for all of your internet needs. The Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. BBQ, Dishwasher, Microwave, Fridge were all in working order. Getting to the lake from the property may not be suitable for those with mobility restrictions. Getting to the property itself is fine and all the amenities are on the main floor however the steps down to the waterfront are numerous and slightly steeper than the average stairs in most homes. It won't be a problem for most but would be renters who might have some more serious mobility issues should be aware. We loved our stay here and plan to return in the summer when the water is warmer for more summer and water activities."

POWER: At TIMES, we operate with a limited power supply. Electrical appliances may operate at a lower efficiency than you're used to at home. We ask guests to be conservative in their power usage to ensure a smooth experience. What this means is that you shouldn't have multiple lights/items running at the same time. In the case of no power or an act of God, we have a backup generator you can hook up.

INDOOR COOKING: Indoor stove-top cooking is not permitted. Outdoor cooking options include the propane BBQ (with side burner) and the fire pit.

LOFT ACCESS: The loft area is not suitable for young children or anyone with mobility concerns. By booking, you agree to our safety and liability policies.

Water & Electricity There is no drinking water on-site—please bring your own. Electricity is available in the bunkie (solar-powered).

Wi-Fi & Cell Service: There is no Wi-Fi and very limited or no cell service. Plan to unplug and enjoy the quiet.

Garbage: There are no large garbage bins and no road side pickup. Please be prepared to bring your garbage to the dump during your stay, or you need to bring it home with you to dispose of. If any garbage is left behind a $75 cleanup, transfer and dump fee will be charged.

Temperature & Seasons: The bunkie is available year-round, however, it is not insulated. If you are coming in winter or intermit weather, we are assuming you "know what you're in for" and will pack and dress appropriately to be in the bush. In winter, the road may not be plowed and could require a short walk in. Bring extra blankets for chilly nights.

Guest Verification: To protect our home and stay aligned with short-term rental regulations, we use an independent verification process for all guests. Please note: If you are booking outside of Airbnb, before your booking begins, you will need to verify your details with us to complete your reservation. If you are not booking with Airbnb you will be contacted via email and/or text to complete the verification.You will also be given the choice between paying a refundable deposit or buying a non-refundable damage waiver.

Cleaning & Safety: Your health and comfort matter to us. That’s why we follow a detailed cleaning and sanitization process after every guest checkout. Everything’s fresh and spotless when you arrive.

We are not available on site, but can be called for any questions or emergencies. There is very limited cell reception in the area, so you may have to leave the location to contact us. You can get cell reception at the front gate, but no wifi.

There are 3 other bunkies close by which you can see from Birez Cabin (through the trees).

You still have lots of privacy, but you may see or hear other guests walking down the road during your stay.

For guests staying at the Pinecone Bunkie in Simcoe, ON public transit options are limited due to its rural setting. However, there are a few services available;

Ride Norfolk: Ride Norfolk offers an on-demand transit service across Norfolk County from Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This service allows you to request trips through a mobile app, website, or phone, selecting your pick-up point and destination from available bus stops on a first-come, first-serve basis.

We like to keep things clear and upfront so you can feel 100% confident about what to expect. Here are a few helpful things to know before your stay:

Washroom & Shower: A shared washroom with warm/cold shower, toilet, and outdoor well-access tap is nearby and easy to access.

Water & Electricity: There’s a tap on-site for general use (well water, not filtered). The sink in the bunkie has cold unfiltered well water. There is no "filtered" drinking water on-site—please bring your own. The bunkie is equipped with solar-powered lighting and basic power.

Wi-Fi & Cell Service: There is no Wi-Fi and very limited or no cell service. Plan to unplug and enjoy the quiet.

Garbage: There are no large garbage bins and no roadside pickup. Please be prepared to bring your garbage to the dump during your stay, or you will need to bring it home with you to dispose of it. If any garbage is left behind, a $75.00 cleanup, transfer, and dump fee will be charged.

Temperature & Seasons: The bunkie is available year-round and is insulated. If you are coming in winter or intermit weather, we are assuming you "know what you're in for" and will pack and dress appropriately to be in the bush. In winter, the road may not be plowed and could require a short walk in. Bring extra blankets for chilly nights.

Guest Verification: To protect our home and stay aligned with short-term rental regulations, we use an independent verification process for all guests. Please note: If you are booking outside of Airbnb, before your booking begins, you will need to verify your details with us to complete your reservation. If you are not booking with Airbnb you will be contacted via email and/or text to complete the verification.You will also be given the choice between paying a refundable deposit or buying a non-refundable damage waiver.

Charming completely refinished Century Home with private vacation rental unit. Located about 1.5 hours from Toronto & Niagara Falls, 1 hour from London & Kitchener-Waterloo, you will find friendly people and picturesque vistas in Norfolk and Haldimand Counties, and easy day trip accessibility to many local attractions.

To keep safe with Covid-19, breakfast is no longer provided, but guests may bring in and prepare their own food and beverages. Also the space is kept vacant 72 hours after checkout before being cleaned and sanitized for the next guests. The guest suite is completely separated from the owners' quarters, which helps to easily maintain social distancing.

Waterford, "Home of the Pumpkinfest" has a long & interesting history. It has some big city amenities with that great small town feel. There is lots to see and do! Beautiful Port Dover Beach is just 15 minutes from here and Turkey Point is 25 minutes away. Simcoe is less than ten minutes away and Brantford/403 just 25 minutes away for anything else you may need on your stay. There a lots of local wineries, restaurants, lavender farms, micro-breweries and more! We will be happy to make recommendations & help you plan your visit.

No smoking or marijuana usage is allowed at the property. If any smell of these items is detected a $300 charge will be applied / no pets / no loud music or noise. We provide initial household supplies (such as toilet paper, shampoo, hand wash, bath soap, dishwashing liquid etc). Linen and towels are provided as per the sleeping arrangements (12 people ) in the house. The guests are responsible to replenish any additional supplies that is required. Some items that our guests may use on a personal level may not be found at the property eg a keurig coffee machine. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Pls remove shoes inside the house. Please remove all garbage and used items from inside the house upon checkout. Guest are allowed to leave 3 garbage bags inside the bin upon checkout (leave them in the garage if the bin is full). Guests are responsible to dispose of all extra garbage. Due to city's restrictions on household garbage we will not be able to take any extra garbage bag. Absolutely no moving of furniture when at property. Property must be left in the same set up as found. No breaking or damaging of any items found at the property. No staining of linens or towels. Kindly note that the ground level flooring is a very unique Galaxy Classic black Tile with small shimmering-like galaxy golden flakes. It’s Polished smooth finish May sometime tend to show little streaks in certain areas after mopping. Please don’t mistake this to mean that the floor is not clean.
