The room was nothing like the photos shown in the Vrbo listing. No doorknob on bathroom door, a smoke alarm was chirping from inside a locked room for our entire visit, the internet was unreliable. A man opened our door while we were there. Obviously he was given the same door code. The beds were comfortable and the shower worked well, although the bathroom faucet was reversed, hot & cold. No rugs on the floor so salt and snow was unavoidably spread all over the room. The only lighting is overhead which is not conducive to a homey feel. I gave 'location' 4* because I feel technically, the neighbor-house that probably has not had a dime invested in it in 20 years, looks slobby, but, it was fun watching the ground-hog sneak into its foundation and under its concrete steps. I do not feel it is a security or safety threat, but, I am not going to pretend it is a neighborhood of stately homes. The other neighbor has probably not trimmed his shrubbery for 5 years, but, it was not a problem. The remainder of the neighborhood is upbeat and nice. Do not be disturbed by the two neighbors. The neighborhood was not noisy or rowdy at any time while we were there. We enjoyed wandering through it walking our dogs. The family all left contented from a great vacation, thanks!"

Our home is the perfect getaway to enjoy everything from fishing & water sports to dining and nightlife and even snowmobiling and skiing in the winter. Or maybe its for no reason at all except to simply relax lakeside and relish the breathtaking views.

Our home is located at the end of a secluded drive with parking for 2 vehicles. Unit 2 is located down the hill and is closest to the lakefront. There is an outdoor deck with a gas grill, 2 tables and chairs for 8, perfect for entertaining and dining. There is a private fire pit in the grass area, near the lake.

The kitchen is supplied with all the essentials...pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, silverware, blender, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, stove and dishwasher. Oil, salt and pepper are provided. The kitchen also has table seating for 6 and a small stand up counter area.

The living room has a 60" TV with cable and DVD player, along with sleeper sofa, 2 chairs and a gorgeous west view of the lake.

The 2 bedrooms have their own TV and a Sony Streaming Blu-Ray/DVD players with WiFi for streaming other entertainment platforms. Each are equipped with a queen bed, dresser and closet space.

The bathroom has a shower.

Our cottage is a single level with a large front deck. There are a few stairs up to the deck and front entrance. The deck includes a propane grill, 2 tables and seating for 8. A private fire pit is located down the driveway and on the yard near the lake.

The front great room includes a sleeper sofa, love seat, and a 50" TV with a Sony Streaming Blu-Ray/DVD player with WiFi for streaming other entertainment platforms. A Netflix login is available upon request

Over the past twelve years, we have successfully hosted guests at our two other vacation rental properties in Puerto Rico. We are now using that knowledge base to provide you a seasoned experience at our newest property (a bit closer to home) here in Fox Lake. The main and open body of Lake Pistakee is the largest of the Chain O' Lakes with an area of over 1,700 acres and is only a mere 50 foot trip down our canal. This is your gateway to the larger access of the greater Chain O' Lakes area. Enjoy fishing, swimming, tubing, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing or a tranquil moonlight cruises on the water. Dine at one of the many area restaurants that also provide boat access, enjoy a horse ride at one of several nearby stables or look into the amenities of one of the numerous marinas.

You won't be disappointed!" - "This home was beautiful and comforting to stay at. There is a beautiful lake front with a breathtaking golden hour. There were opportunities to go kayaking in the lake or if you have a jet ski, there was nothing but space to frolic. We chose to stay at this location because we were in town for a Navy Graduation. The base was about 30-40 minutes away(If you don't mind driving). There was an abundance of food already available for guests who may have had to check in late and didn't get a chance to go food shopping. Overall, I would recommend this place and I would also stay here again, if I'm ever in the area."

- "Great" - "The house is in a great location. It’s walking distance to restaurants. Water is right there just a few steps away from the house. The house was clean, and all amenities were well thought out. For a smaller house, all the space was used nicely. Communicating to the manager during our stay was easy. This is 1 of 5 homes on Maple Ave off Mineola Bay. This is an old lake house neighborhood that has roots to the origins of Fox Lake. It is generally quite and peaceful along the lake.

When you arrive, there is 2 free parking spaces just for you. They are clearly marked with yellow/black parking spaces behind the house.

This is in the heart of Fox Lake and a long walk from the Fox Lake downtown area, but definitely a 2 minute drive to the stores, movies, restaurants, etc.

Bring your fishing gear. There is good fishing in the Bay. Our kids catch large bass, catfish, bluegill and perch right off our pier in the back yard.

This is a popular house for Naval families to visit and cheer on their boot camp grads since it is only a half hour from the Great Lakes Naval base.

This home is designed safe and secure, and is equipped with a Smart Dead Bolt lock that controls check in and check out times, and has a door camera feature to make sure the correct guests are entering our home. All for your safety and to protect our home.

Garbage day is on Wednesdays. If you are staying with us overnight on a Tuesday, please take the garbage and recycle cans out to the end of the road for the Wednesday morning garbage truck.

The driveway is smaller and can hold (2) full size cars MAX, or 1 larger trucks or SUV`s tight. The entrance road and its an old tight road. Be careful pulling in and out of the driveway. Pull in and out very slow. If at all possible have other guests help you back out.

It is well stocked with kitchen accessories, nice absorbant bath towels, and even extra stock of toilet paper. I can not say that's the case for homes I've rented before! The beds are very comfortable, as well. We BBQ'd all our dinners, and that was easy with the great gas grill. We ate our meals on the upper deck, enjoying the beautiful view! Our main reason for this trip, and why this house was perfect, was to fish! We caught Bluegill, Catfish and Largemouth bass- and all returned into the water! With three fishing poles, having the space to cast and not getting wires crossed, was so great! I can not recommend this house enough. Comfortable, well stocked, and the views... it's a home away from home that you will not want to leave! Id love return next summer!"

Not to much of a problem as the bar closes at 11:00. So just have to suffer through the drunken super star want a be singers. It is good for some laughs.
