My family and I took full advantage of the amenities, and were pleased to find a smaller kayak for children to use. After so many years, we finally decided to head to the Stockton Hotel for dinner and came away very impressed. We made our usual trips to the Dunkirk beaches and Midway for the kids, as well as Bemus Point, which is a short trip away. Our house is the only one situated on a public beach in the City, where you can walk out the door and be right on the beach! It is located on the bicycle trail and is two blocks from the Dunkirk Lighthouse, as well as Point Gratiot Park. There are lake views from the living room, kitchen, sun room porch & 2nd floor master bedroom. There is a finished bedroom off the back of the garage that one has to walk through the garage to get to, that has 2 full beds, a sofa sleeper and has it's own air conditioning unit. This bedroom also has a tv that can be used with streaming apps. There is air conditioning in the living room, as well as in both bedrooms upstairs (one bedroom with a queen and twin bed, the master bedroom with a queen bed and 2 futons). There is a new gas insert fireplace for use in the colder months.

There is an enclosed, private outdoor area off the back of the house that has a covered area with outdoor furniture for you to use and enjoy. There is plenty of off beach parking with a one car garage the renter may use. There is a propane barbecue grill located in the back yard for you to use. There is a nice garden of perennials for you to enjoy in the back yard also. The house is a pleasant mix of cabin and beach house.

Access to the beach area is to the west by walking along the north edge of property across the neighbors backyard which leads to the staircase down to the beach area. We ask that you be respectful of the neighbors and their property when walking along their property to the stairs.

Also the edge of the property has a cliff down to the water. There isn`t a guard rail so please use caution if standing near the cliffs edge. The ground may be soft near the edge as well. We haven`t had any accidents or issues however we would like to keep it that way to ensure all guests are aware of potential risks and stay safe, especially guests with children. Please practice common sense around the cliffs and Proceed at your own risk.

Also waves can get rough at times in the lake. If you are swimming in the lake please also proceed at your own risk.

The edge of the property has a cliff down to the water. There isn`t a guard rail so please use caution if standing near the cliffs edge. The ground may be soft near the edge as well, especially when wet. We haven`t had any accidents or issues however we would like to keep it that way to ensure all guests are aware of potential risks and stay safe, especially guests with children. Please practice common sense around the cliffs and proceed at your own risk.

The mansion, known as Harminnie, was named after Major Harry and Minnie Hequembourg, who owned the entire bay from Canadaway Creek to Crooked Brook Creek.
