Villa Djebel Musa is a romantic, well maintained, architect-designed villa with an infinity pool. The garden is a mixture of mature exotic palms amongst the rocks as well as wild olives and carobs filled with songbirds on top of a hillside at the southern edge of the pretty 'white village' of Gaucin.

Gaucin is 600 metres (2000 ft) above sea level and the secluded villa and pool afford spectacular open views down the Genal River valley to the Mediterranean and North Africa beyond. The altitude moderates temperatures in the summer compared to the coast or inland Spain. There are 3 'fine-dining' restaurants with a walk of less than 10 minutes and several good tapas bars and other restaurants.

The villa has a double-height open-plan living room with a minstrels' gallery leading to a large covered veranda. Through an archway there is dining room which leads to its own covered, outdoor dining terrace.

4 of the 5 bedrooms and the main living rooms have French windows onto their own terrace or balcony and there are other terraces around the garden.

Ronda 49 km away, with the oldest Bullring in Spain and its famous gorge is about 1 h drive through enormous cork forests. Jerez, an unforgettable drive through beautiful country side, were the famous Sherry wine is produced,(visits to its wine cellars and wine tastings can be arranged), the internationally known dancing horses show is worth a visit. Beaches of Manilva are 27 km away, Gibraltar and the resorts of the Costa del Sol such as Estepona, and Marbella, for shops. The Atlantic beaches and Tarifa with its famous windsurfing and kitting about 1 h drive and Golf courses from 40 min drive. Morocco with Tanger and its traditional markets is 40 min on boat from Tarifa.

We’re aware of rumours in the press about “Andalucia will have empty pools”. We can assure you that this will not be the case! We have a independent supply of collected water.

Our absolutely delightful family home is full of rustic charm with stunning views in a superb location, sleeping up to five. Ideal both for couples and/or families with children. The beautiful large pool, with a depths of 1.4 - 2.7 metres, is surrounded by terraces to provide both natural shade and full sun all day. The pool measures 12.5 x 5 metres and is fitted with underwater lighting, a great feature for all ages.

Set in total harmony with its glorious natural surroundings, built in traditional Andalusian style, soread over two acres, flanked by almond, olive and carobtrees, cactuses flowering shrubs and palm trees. Its sheltered location offering complete peace and privacy. A natural adventure playground for children of all ages, of course at the parents responsibility.
There are plenty of deck chairs and patio furniture around the pool, as well as two hammocks strung between olive trees.

Stairs lead up to the landing to the separate WC. and master bedroom.

Finca Alboran is located just 1 km. below the stunning hilltop village of Gaucin, part of the “Serranía de Ronda”. Walking to the village is uphill, a cool beer awaiting. Easy ramble back, great option for younger kids/teenagers to make their own way back whenever they wish....

Finca Alboran makes an ideal base for day trips to the beautiful cities of Ronda, Jerez, Cadiz, Seville and the Atlantic Coast. All of these cities have much historical and architectural interest as well as having fabulous shopping and fine restaurants. Ronda has a famous gorge and also has the oldest Bullring in Spain.

Gaucin is a spectacular, unspoilt white village with many food shops, a chemist, bank, bars, four restaurants and a public tennis court. There is a lively art scene with the annual ‘Open Studios’ proving to be very popular with a wide audience . Throughout the year Gaucin has many fascinating fiestas, traditional Saint days and the ‘Semana-Santa’, their holy week, processions. In August Gaucin celebrates its ‘Feria’ with a fairground, dancing, a flamenco festival and their very own bull-fights.
Overlooking the village are the ruins of a Moorish castle, with incomparable views over to the Mediterranean Coast, North Africa and Gibraltar. This area is a paradise for walking, exploring, horse-riding and bird watching and just enjoying the many "watering holes".
Reading through our visitors book we're happy to see the variety of choices that were made, it being the beach/lunch in one of the beach bars reading & swimming and not going anywhere, riding for the family, visiting ancient sights such as "Cuevas de la Pileta", Roman Ronda and of course Ronda itself with its many extraordinary sites.

We do have few reviews on VRBO. Our property is mostly let through Rustic Blue and to repeat visitors resulting in 70% of our bookings. In fact, no bookings were from VRBO in 2023, as we were booked very early on by Rustic Blue an returning visitors.

In the charming countryside of Gaucín, Málaga, travellers will find the Holiday Home Los Algarrobos Gaucin. The property consists of a living room, 2 well-equipped kitchens with a dishwasher, 4 bedrooms (one with a single bed, and one with 2 single beds) and 4 bathrooms and can therefore accommodate 8 people. Due to a government restriction, the charcoal barbecue will not be available in the summer, but a gas barbecue will be provided instead.

Gaucin town is 15 minutes drive away and what a beautiful place this is. Highly recommended however a car os essential which wasn’t a problem for us. A group of six, made up of family and friends, including a child - the four bedrooms & four bathrooms worked well for us. One of the rooms was a self-contained annex with its own kitchen area so our friend could be self-sufficient if needed. The location is remote, very peaceful and perfect if you want a relaxing break away. The pool and surrounding area were lovely. We met our host who was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again."

This family home comprises three bedrooms (one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and one spare bedroom with day bed), a living room and kitchen diner . A balcony runs along the back of the house and offers amazing views that extend down to the coast and across to Africa as well as to the neighbouring mountains and the village with its castle. There is a wood burning stove and two air conditioning units/ heaters . Parking is outside the front door.
The house has recently been renovated and decorated.
During July and August the owner will pay the tiket for the municipal swimming pool.

- "Beautiful, well appointed casa in a lovely quiet town with spectacular views over the valley below and on a clear day Gibraltar and sea. We never tired of the view. The casa is tastefully decorated with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Aircon, toaster, microwave, iron, cooker, washing machine and plenty of hot water. 3 large bedrooms with plenty of storage, all of them have patio door access to the slim balcony so you can admire the view from your room. We used to leave the doors open while we were there for the cooling breeze that flows through the casa. There is a huge bathroom with twin sinks, large mirror with lights. Large TV in the lounge but no English channels but we did not miss TV at all while there. A vast selection of DVDs if you did want to chill out infront of the TV. Stereo for music kept kids happy. We had tickets provided for free access to the large town swimming pool which was just a few minutes walk away and spent a few fun times there. It was large and clean with lifeguards on duty. It has a nice well kept area around it to relax. The location of the casa is on the edge of Gaucin (pronounced Gau 'thin') town so you don't have to navigate the small streets of the town. With parking right outside. Gaucin is small so very easy to walk into town to the lovely restaurants in the evening. A few good small supermarkets to get essentials if needed. Though large supermarkets are an easy 30 min drive if you want to do a big shop, like we did at the beginning. The petrol station is a 1 minute drive away. The people of Gaucin are friendly and we always felt at ease when out and about in town. The location of Gaucin is ideal to explore Andalusia. We travelled to quite a few places from the casa. Ronda is an hour relaxing drive away which is a must see. Gibraltar is only an hour away. We found out afterwards that you can normally take your hire car into Gibraltar. We didn't and it was a hassle with Gibraltar buses. Cadiz is 1.5 hours and so is Malaga. We regulay drove into Estepona for the beach and dinner. The host Josefi was an absolute angel. Friendly and efficient. Easily contactable and resolved any issue quickly and with no fuss. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend this casa to anyone wanting an authentic Spanish getaway."
