This stay was especially meaningful to me as my father worked there as a bell hop in the late 1930’s!" - "We had a wonderful stay at Glacier Lodge. Weather was awesome. Great central location for all hiking. Magnificent view from the main balcony. Food was excellent. Service was even better. Staff is very friendly and considerate. The office was locked a lot so we missed the breakfast bars a few times and they didn't have a spare key to clean our room but have is clean towels as needed. - "They were kind " - "Booked for 7 nights and used as my base exploring Glacier NP. Very convenient to Two Medicine and not a bad drive to Saint Mary. Certainly NO crowds on the east side, which was my goal. Was also an easy drive to Waterton Lakes. The accommodations are dated and need work. What I had (cabin) was comfortable although somewhat out of level. They do, as advertised, have internet but it rarely worked in the evening. Soon after booking got an email with arrival instructions. It had an incorrect address and a phone number that was never answered (and voice mail was full). Took my chances and arrived in town. Found what appears to be a sister property and she called around to find out where I was supposed to be. Staff was nice and helpful. If you are looking for a clean place to crash for the night, this is it. If you’re looking for much in the way of amenities well, maybe not. "

- "The property is close to the Many Glacier and St. Mary entrances to Glacier National Park. The house is spacious. It has 4 beds in two different rooms. We were there in June 2025, when the weather was cool, so we didn't need A/C, which it didn't appear to have. The owner was very responsive. - "We stayed 6 nights at this cozy cottage (family of four, two adults and two teens) and it was the perfect home base for exploring the park. It had everything we needed plus gave us easy access to the east side of Glacier which was our favorite areas. The cottage was very clean and the outside was manicured so nicely. It’s just a happy peaceful place! Marty (the property manager who lives on site) was great and was always there to give good recommendations or provide a good chat…just a wonderful guy who made our stay even better! We loved that the cottage is walking distance to our two favorite restaurants…Whistle Stop and Brownies. I highly recommend this cottage and will definitely be staying here again when we plan our next visit to Glacier."

Cute lakefront cabin on Duck Lake, one of Montana's best fishing lakes for rainbow trout. Located approximately 31 miles north of Browning , 9 miles NE of St. Mary, within 13 miles from Canadian border just minutes from 2 major entrances to Glacier National Park. St. Mary offers access to going to the Sun Road, Logan Pass. Babb is the entrance to Many Glacier, the most Northern entrance to Glacier National Park. We are conveniently located next to the Waterton International Peace Park Entrance as well as the Caraway Border Station in Alberta, Canada.
- "We really enjoyed this peaceful cabin right on the shore of Duck Lake. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out and be comfortable. The cabin is well-maintained and very clean. Honestly, the listing photos don't do it justice. There were plenty of towels, blankets, and pillows for all of us to use. While there wasn't laundry available in the cabin, it was easy enough for us to run a few loads at Johnson's RV Park in St Mary. There aren't a ton of food options nearby, but the full kitchen - and available oil, vinegar, and spices - made it easy to whip up meals after busy days in the park. I had everything I needed to cook, grill, and even bake. The grocery options nearby are pretty sparse and do the trick if you forgot something, so plan to pack your groceries in Browning, Kalispell, or another major town on your route to Duck Lake. As others have mentioned, the road is gravel and rough in some spots. We were not surprised at the road's condition based on these comments and our Outback handled it without issue. Let's talk about proximity... this location is perfect for exploring the east side of Glacier National Park. St Mary is just over 10 minutes away, plus Two Medicine and Many Glacier are less than an hour away. We failed to bring proper documents for the border, but Waterton Lakes is also super close to this cabin. It made it easier on all of us to not have to wake up crazy early to make the drive from the west side to see all the east side sights."

HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED THE STARS IN MONTANA?
We have been in the valley for almost 50 years, love the land, the people and the entire park in general! My parents had a place on the majestic St Mary lake where we grew up in the wild every weekend and 2 months every summer exploring all the hidden gems glacier park had to offer. We built our getaway on Duck lake in 2006 for the fishing, wildlife and the utter beauty of the Montana rocky mountains just for our 3 boys to have the same upbringing I had. Now as they are getting older and moving in their own directions our place seems to be empty more and more of the time. We are happy to open up our piece of paradise to explorers of all types to experience a piece of life in Montana's wilderness.
The property is fully chain linked fenced keeping you safe while watching the boundless wildlife with views from all directions. over 100ft beach with clean weed free water (swear its the best fishing area on the lake) a dock, 2 fire pits one on the beach one in the trees for the windy days. The loft cabin we are offering is brand new. It is super unique, rustic and modern in every way. We have an assortment of kayaks, canoes and all kinds of water sports and fishing gear, welcome for everyone to use. Our main cabin is also on the property yet your stay will be quiet and relaxing, as were only usually there on weekends and for cleaning.
We just just added an inflatable air bed just to add a little more comfort for a larger group.
- "We had a fabulous time staying at Abby and Anna’s Duck Lake Loft. Their hospitality and generosity exceeded our expectations. It is a great retreat after spending long days at Glacier National Park. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular and viewing the night sky was magnificent. Glacier is a magical place and Abby and Anna made our stay incredible. Thank you." - "Abby and Anna’s place was just awesome! Very light and airy and super clean. Both kitchen and bathroom were very well stocked. Abby and Anna are so friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend was able to catch rainbow trout in Duck Lake. Great place! We would definitely stay again."

**For travels during October-April, please be mindful that you are booking for a time when the weather can be seasonally unpredictable. We love this area for the great cross-country/backcountry skiing, snowshoeing and aurora borealis viewing. Please be aware that the temperature can drop below 0 and there can be very strong wind gusts in the area. The roads are plowed and maintained, however, if there is weather in the forecast, you are encouraged to have proper snow tires/chains/4WD to ensure safe travels.
Notes on seasonal animals/insects:
Bears are frequent visitors to the property. They are most active in early spring and late summer/fall, but they are seen on the property throughout the summer. Please be alert, keep all food and food containers/coolers inside, and carry bear spray. There are also wolf, moose, coyote, cow, and other wild animals that roam.
As far as insects go, spring is a popular time for mosquitos. Bring layers and bug spray. They mostly choose to hang out around dusk/dawn, so we try to stay inside during those times. August-September is prime moth season around here. Bears can eat up to ~20,000 per day, so we try to live with them rather than against them. They can sneak into the cabin occasionally, but they are harmless. September-October is black fly season.
If you have any questions, you are always welcome to reach out!
PARK INFO: A reminder that the ticketed entry system affecting the West Glacier entrance to the Going to the Sun Road and the North Fork area begins to release tickets 120 days in advance, beginning 02/13/25. This first release of tickets is valid for 06/13/25. The Two Medicine Valley and the St. Mary entrance to the Going to the Sun Road do not require a special vehicle pass. There will also be a small number of tickets released again, 24 hours prior.
The Many Glacier Valley will be under serious construction, and access will be limited in a different way than the rest of the park.

There was only one complaint: Maybe all VRBOs are like this, but the "total price" was not the total price. There was an insurance requirement before the final reservation could be made. All we really did here was sleep. The place is simple but adequate for that. If we had wanted spend more time hanging out here and cook many of our meals that would have been more challenging due to limited space, seating, and outdoor area. The property manager was great and very attentive to our needs. "

- "The property manager went above and beyond to see that our needs were met at the property. He even built a sturdy ramp so that my paralyzed husband could wheel up into the cabin. He gave me advice about the area, and he premeasured the doorways to make sure my husband's wheelchair could get in. The cabin was roomy with a nice kitchen area for preparing food. I took a soak in the comfortable tub, and the water was steamy hot enough. Plenty of fluffy white towels. The wall unit kept us warm at night and cool during the day. The cabin was situated at the edge of East Glacier Village, which is close to the Two Medicine Entrance to Glacier Park."
