Welcome to our warm and welcoming Cape Cod style home which sits on a beautiful, private and tree filled yard. This is a sunny walk-out basement unit (not wheelchair accessible), with a separate entrance for added privacy (we live on the upper level). It offers two guest bedrooms (both have Q/S beds), 3-PC bath, apartment size kitchen (but fully equipped) and a large rec. room with wood burning stove which opens onto a large ground level deck where you can sit and enjoy the privacy of the trees that surround you, spot the many species of birds. Enjoy the outdoor fire pit with a glass of wine from several of our local wineries, or if beer is more your thing, we have lots of great local breweries to chose from.

We are close to all main highways, 25 minutes to downtown Halifax, less than 15 minutes from the Halifax International Airport and about 30 minute from Lawrencetown Beach Provincial Park. So many beautiful lakes in the area, great golf courses and several wonderful walking trails close by...and of course never that far from some great ocean beaches and all those quaint small towns that dot our coastline. - "It was love live in this place." - "When we arrived there was construction happening next door with loud equipment and blowing dust clouds. This left outdoor areas unusable and very dirty. The garbage bins out front smelled like rotting fish and were crawling with maggots. Beware of very steep downward driveway. We asked if early check in was possible - which they accommodated but at first said no so we drove around until 4 because we didn’t see the updated message - but I think that left some areas neglected (e.g., hair in showers etc). The mattress in the primary bedroom needs to be replaced because it’s totally collapsed on one side. The heat pump unit has mold and the basement either smells like mildew or cat pee. There is a general sense of a “very used” air about the whole house. I think with some deep cleaning and some replacements this place could be nice. We only stayed 1/5 nights we had booked and then moved to somewhere else. We only booked this place because the VRBO we were supposed to stay in ended up falling through. We were very happy at our next choice!"

Our lakeside retreat is a large, sunny, lower level apartment with a private entrance on a 3 acre lakefront property. Lots of space to spread out - big sunroom, den with sofabed and desk, and livingroom with 65" television. Canoe, kayaks and SUP board for your use (waiver required). Gorgeous sunsets. Super comfy beds!

We live upstairs and our entrance is on the other side of the house. You may see us around the property tending to gardens, maintaining the hot tub, or walking our little rescue dog, Diddy. You may hear Diddy's footsteps as he plays his favourite games in our livingroom. You may also see/hear planes overhead, nearby trains, and the occasional squirrel noises, or ducks, geese or birds calling out to each other. The deer will not be afraid of you, and there is the occasional snapping turtle sighting.

We are ideally situated 20 minutes from the airport, 35 minutes from downtown Halifax, 45 minutes from Peggy's Cove and one hour to the beautiful Annapolis Valley. We delight in providing advice (when asked) on the best places to grab a great lobster roll, book a table at a great restaurant or hike on one of our local trails.
