Fisherman's Dream is ideal for any fisherman, family or corporate getaway. We offer a beautiful lot with wade out fishing, mountainous views and the tranquility we all need these days. Property includes all linens, fully equipped kitchen, washer & drier, gas grill, TV & WiFi, and both a gas and wood burning fire pit. All you have to pack is your fishing pole and personal items. If you forget your gear or need new gear, our property is located DIRECTLY across the road from Appalachian Outpost. They have a ton of fishing supplies and are very informative!
Fisherman's Dream has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed that will sleep 2. The other two bedrooms each have 2 full sized beds that could easily allow this property to sleep 10!
Located just 5 minutes to the quaint city of Elizabethton, you can find great local eateries such as the famous Ridgewood BBQ. If you don't want make the trip to town or fry your catch of the day, delivery is available. The grocery store and package stores are 5 minutes away, yet you still have the tranquil setting of a mountain retreat! It is truly the best of both worlds.
Bristol Motor Speedway is only 15 minutes away!! It 's a perfect way to spend race weekend; fish in the day and race at night!!! Roan Mountain State Park, Watauga Lake, and the Jonesborough Storytelling Festival are also very convenient to this property.
The Watauga River offers the some of the best trout fishing in the entire USA! With approximately 2000 fish per acre (yes, you read that correctly). Trout species in the Watauga River are Rainbow, Brook and Brown. There are also various non-game species. This property is almost halfway down the river. It is perfect for taking a lunch break, refilling the cooler, or just stretching your legs before you continue down stream.
Did I mention that right outside the back door of this property is what I call "The Church Hole?" Fisherman almost always stop to fish this location and usually catch something. You can also sit on the bank and just cast a few if you aren't up for wading in the river.
Fisherman's Dream has something to offer everyone. We hope to see you soon.

Brand new to VRBO June 1st 2023. Gorgeous and completely remodeled waterfront home on the beautiful Watauga River. The house was completely remodeled in 2023 with all new windows, life proof flooring, granite countertops, appliances, new black metal roof, new interior and exterior paint, new composite front door, new lights and fans, landscaping, etc. This is a $500K immaculate home right on the river. You might stay somewhere cheaper but you will not stay anywhere nicer in this area. Please look at our cabin VRBO #2196043 if you need something smaller yet just as beautiful, its really made for 2 people but will sleep 4 if needed.
The house includes a brand new 12' x 12' Trex river dock with stainless steel cables for railing, so as not to diminish the river views. There is also a brand new private boat ramp for those coming in to fish or kayak. Excellent place for a large group or a small group and all the comforts of home. The river deck and mountain deck will be furnished with furniture (not pictured yet), and a grill on the mountain deck. You can fish nearly 300 feet of the river along the property bank. In the summer months you will see lots of rafters, kayaks, and drift boats going by. The house is located on the main road to Wilbur Dam, and is 3 miles downstream from the dam, and not in a floodplain. The back yard has a large chainlink fence for your pets containment and safety, with direct access from the french doors off of the mountain deck.
From the front of the house all you see is the beautiful river flowing by, from the sides of the house and back all you see is the beautiful Holston Mountain Range. The house has brand new appliances, furniture, mattresses, etc. Incredible entertainment package with Direct TV and a 75" Ultra 4K Samsung in the den and a 65" Samsung Ultra 4k in the primary bedroom. Bose wave radio. Front load washer and dryer for long stays. The front porch will have rocking chairs. More pictures to come. Book now for your next getaway in a spectacular setting. Mountains and river in all directions, yet only 10 minutes to town.

- "The cottage was clean, neat, and with subtle home-like decor, but no clutter. It is super quiet, and evenings around the firepit were a delight; easy access to Roan Mountain and the Tri-City area. We were greeted on arrival by a goodie basket and smores gear, left by our hosts; they also left goodies for our Golden Retriever, Boomer, and a personalized note wishing us a Happy Anniversary. I very much doubt that we could have picked a better place."

- "The property is amazing! The house was exactly as described! The host was quick to respond with any question WE WILL DEFINITELY USE AGAIN 5 STARS × 5 STARS" - "Me and some friends stayed at the cabin for a couple of days on a fishing trip and were very pleased. I am used to short-term rentals looking great in photographs and then turning out to be poorly maintained dumps. This one was quite the opposite. It was clean, well provisioned, and in every way. We will stay here again! One note: the toilet paper could use a serious upgrade."

The furnishings are all new or beautifully restored. AC worked well, nice and cool especially in the basement. There is a screened porch off the back of the house which is great for sipping morning coffee and watching wildlife in the woods out back. Also enjoyed the rocking chair and swing on the front porch. We made several meals in the house; the kitchen is well stocked with appliances and cooking tools. There are also many local favorite restaurants like good BBQ within a short driving distance. Also a short distance to the Laurels picnic area, a local favorite. We had a lot of fun playing the lawn darts game and ladder toss. Wifi and TVs worked well with Roku and cable service. About this space
"Hygge" [hue-gah] is the Danish word for the secret to happy living, and at our modern cabin in the heart of Cherokee National Forest, joy is no stranger. It's hard to fret over frustrations when you're swinging on the front porch or snuggled up in the reading nook, and easy to enjoy the company of those you love when you're wandering among the waterfalls nearby. At Hygge Hus [hoos], we believe finding happiness should be as easy as adding another log to the fire.
