Cozy room with door to outside, own bath, large porch with chairs. Breakfast was served at 9am in large common rooms of main house. Our adorable log cabin is a 1 bedroom loft with a queen size bed and a full bath. It is 930 square feet of coziness, constructed of large logs which makes it very unique. Wake up and gaze out at the lake without getting out of bed or better yet, have breakfast in bed, it has a great view from the loft. Enjoy spending days around the cabin, we have fishing (catch and release only), two kayaks and one canoe for lazy trips around the lake. Go swimming right outside your front door to cool down. Bring your dog, there is a large fenced in back yard for hours of play time. Cook on our charcoal grill (charcoal included) and enjoy a great meal at the picnic table or on our large front porch. If you enjoy walking, walk on the many miles of roads on Line Runner Ridge, take a hike in the woods or around the lake. After a long day at the cabin, enjoy the fire pit in the back yard fixing smore's or grab a drink and take a relaxing bath in our old fashion claw foot bath tub with tee light candles. Mountain bike, hike, fish, kayak and explore the mountains of Western North Carolina. Just ten minutes from DuPont State Forest and twelve minutes from Pisgah National Forest in Transylvania County, near Brevard. Serenade Cove is nestled among tall white pines with beautiful year-round views of Fodderstack Mountain. There are three boating put-in locations for the French Broad River nearby. If you want to stay close to the house, the surrounding 22-acre property has walking trails and a small pond which provide a peaceful place to spend time within steps of your front door. The large covered deck offers ample room for entertainment and grilling. Relax with family and friends in the open living area with a gas fireplace, Smart TV (Amazon Firestick, cable TV service and BluRay player), wireless cable Internet and a Bluetooth speaker for your music. The covered porch looking out across the valley at Fodderstack Mountain was where we spent most of the time while at the cabin — the rocking chairs, views, and forest sounds were the perfect complement to morning coffee and evening wine or whiskey (and also a great WFH spot for my wife). For younger adventurers the property has its own trail system with several intersecting loops that converge on a secret pond in the forest with its own small school of goldfish — a big hit with our 7 year old. We will be back next summer to get our fix of NC Mountain air!"

This comfortable home has two bedrooms, two full baths, an electric fireplace (no mess) inside and fire-pit outside. Located 5 minutes from Brevard is the fabulous Brevard Music Center. Situated on a wooded 180-acre campus, founded in 1936, the Music Center is one of this country's premier summer training programs and music festivals. This is only the beginning of the music scene Brevard has to offer: The Porter Center at Brevard College hosts many world renowned artists as well as local talent. There are many other local venues hosting local and regional musicians. The Phoenix Lounge features a different musician each night of the week. You are guaranteed to find something for even the pickiest of music enthusiasts.

Close to the Brevard Music Center you will find The Bracken Mountain Preserve, a 395 acre recreation area, owned by the City of Brevard. Mountain bikers, trail runners and nature lovers can explore its 7.1 miles of trails. Bracken Mountain trail connects directly to the Pisgah National Forest trail system.

Dupont State Forest

If some light hiking and waterfalls are what you're looking for, then Dupont State Forest should be your destination. This is where we first took Lola for a hike after she came into our lives. Bonus: It's also where the first Hunger Games movie was filmed!

Frying Pan

This is a nice short hike up an easy forest service road to a lookout tower. 1.5 miles roundtrip, with 360 degree views at the top.

Black Balsam

Some of the most popular hiking in the area. This can be a short out-and-back, or a nice loop. Choose your own adventure!

Looking Glass

Venture down to our little town of Brevard to check out this more strenuous hike to the top of one of the most unique and iconic geographic features of our area. A great 6.5 mile hike.

Art Loeb

If you're going to be spending more than just the weekend in the area and are looking for a challenge, you can give the 30.1-mile Art Loeb trail a try. We've done it twice now, taking 3 days/2 nights each time to backpack it. Let us know if this is up your alley and we'll share some valuable advice about confusing intersections and water sources!
Enjoy nearby Pisgah Forest: 15 minute drive: Home of the nation’s first school of forestry where you can picnic, camp, hike, rock climb, fish, swim, slide, float, hunt, bike, mountain bike, ride your horse, rent a horse, learn about forestry, find waterfalls, sightsee, experience the NC Fish Hatchery, navigate the Blue Ridge Parkway, or just relax! Brevard features expert outdoor guides for every level of outdoor experience. Whether you are with your family for a picnic, taking a day hike or looking for something more challenging, there is adventure for everyone. The Hub, Sycamore Cycles and Pura Vida Adventures are located right at the entrance to the forest. You are guaranteed to find whatever level of adventure you are after. Take an easy day hike or go more extreme with kayaking, rock climbing or canyoneering.

Dupont State Forest: 20 Minute Drive: Explore Triple, Bridal Veil, Hooker, High and Wintergreen Falls. Cedar Rock Mountain with its hundreds of acres of exposed granite makes it a popular destination for Bikers and Hikers! DuPont offers mountain biker ride opportunities ranging from easy forest roads to exciting single track. All trails are open to horses except for Triple Falls Trail and a few foot trails that are clearly marked. You can also take a Hunger Games Tour and feel like Katniss Everdeen for a day.

Historic Hendersonville: 30 minute drive: Visit the Carl Sandburg home, Flat Rock Playhouse State Theater and Apple Festival street fair (Aug 29- Sept 1). Great shopping along Main Street! West First Wood Fired Pizza will not disappoint you!

Asheville NC: 45 minute drive: The “Big City” offers a little bit for everyone: from fine dining to food trucks, walking trails to zip line tours, breweries to The Sky Bar, chocolates to chocolate covered potato chips, high class to hippie, homemade ice cream to homemade quilts, Mexican to Moroccan, trolley tours to comedy tours, downtown to the River Arts District. Whatever you are looking for you will find it here, especially if you are looking for delicious food or locally crafted beers. Asheville is Beer City USA with countless breweries popping up each year. It has been called a mini Portland. Asheville is a place you do not want to miss; with the motto “Keep Asheville Weird” you know you are in for a treat.

Our cabin is a one level, bright and airy, easy access bungalow featuring 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a full size kitchen including refrigerator, range, microwave, and dishwasher. The vaulted kitchen/dining/living area features 100 year old heart pine beams, a poplar & maple live edge bar top, wood burning fireplace and queen sofa sleeper. The spacious Master bedroom features a king size bed and private bath. The second bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed and bunk beds. The second bathroom, with full size tub/shower, is located just across the hallway. The oversize mudroom has a full size washer and dryer, laundry sink, and ample space for indoor bike storage. Outside is a convenient bike wash station, a charcoal grill and fire pit with firewood provided.

The cabin's large picture windows frame meticulously maintained pastures bordered by streams and springs that flow into a pond located directly in front of the cabin. The covered porch overlooks a waterfall that is beautiful to look at and soothing to hear, especially as one drifts off to sleep. The cabin has an open floor plan for the kitchen, dining, and living room area. The living room is tastefully furnished with a couch and two armchairs. For entertainment, there is a flat screen television, a DVD player, and unlimited internet via fiber optic for streaming TV or surfing the web.

The master suite downstairs has a king size bed, walk in closet, and private bath. The soothing sound of the water is particularly nice in this bedroom. Upstairs is a roomy loft area with another full bath, a queen bed as well as two single beds. One of the single beds can be collapsed and moved out of the way if not needed. The cabin is air conditioned and separate temperature controls in the master bedroom, loft, and great room ensure maximum comfort during the summer months.

The Kitchen is equipped with a microwave, electric range, refrigerator with an ice maker, dishwasher, blender, and coffee maker. There is also a stacked washer and dryer unit. Additionally there is a barbecue grill and outside dining area located behind the cabin in its private yard. Access to the property is private, entry is via an electric gate. Guests are assigned a unique entry code prior to their arrival.

Located just off of Hwy 64, we are convenient to Cashiers, Sapphire, Lake Toxaway, and Highlands to the West, Brevard and Hendersonville to the East, Asheville to the north, and the upstate of South Carolina to the South. All of these locations have a lot to offer from great restaurants to great antiquing. The major hubs of Atlanta to the south and Charlotte to the east are both only 2 1/2 hours drive away.

Transylvania county is the land of waterfalls and hiking, biking, cycling, and sightseeing destinations are literally only minutes away. For hikers and mountain bikers, Jocassee State Park is only 2.3 miles down the road and for cyclists there are miles of bike routes all through Transylvania county. Should fly fishing, tubing, or kayaking interest you, both the Davidson river and the French Broad Rivers are just minutes away. For the horse enthusiast, there are several stables in the area that offer trail rides, but reservations are a must. We are also close to DuPont State Forest, Pisgah State Forest, and Caesars Head State Park. The Biltmore Estate with its winery, grounds, and gardens in Asheville is only 35 miles north.

Because of the numerous water features and four legged animals already on the property, we are unable to accommodate pets or small children. But if you are looking for a place geared towards the adult traveler, Falling Water Farm is for you.
