From Perth: Drive south on the Kwinana Freeway. The drive takes between 45 mins to an hour depending on the time of day/traffic.

Train & Bus:
Train: Take the Armadale Line from Perth to Armadale Station.
Bus: From Armadale, catch the 254 bus towards Byford or Serpentine.
Note: There are no direct buses from these stations to Jarrahdale, so you’ll need a taxi or rideshare like Uber for the final leg.

Umatah means "you matter". Umatah to us, Umatah to yourself, Umatah to those around you and Umatah to the environment. Umatah is part of the original State Brick Works that was closed down in the 1940’s after their excavations hit an underground spring. The property runs on organic principles and has a mango orchard, apiary, vegetable wicking beds plus various other fruit and nut trees. There is a large waterhole, landscaped gardens and endless native bushland.

The Space:
Umatah Retreat Chalet was designed to nurture wellness and stimulate your senses to encourage relaxation. The chalet is disability friendly with wide doorways and ramped access**. It is surrounded by native bushland and overlooks the tranquil waters of the historic quarry, with city views as the backdrop.

Umatah Retreat Chalet has an open plan living space with full kitchen, two bedrooms, large bathroom and outdoor alfresco area. The bedrooms consists of one master suite with king bed and a second bedroom which can be configured with either two long singles or one king bed.

The outside area is fenced from the main property to keep our friendly dogs, ponies and alpacas off your deck.

This is a lively home filled with nothing but good vibes! It is a beautiful place with lots of light entering it and spectacular views of the garden and hills from the bedroom and kitchen windows. It is fully furnished and everything is in brand new condition. It is both spacious and comfortable, making it the perfect stay for your next getaway!

It is only 30 minutes from both the CBD and Airport.

This home comes with the full package both inside and outside. Starting from the outside, there is a patio entry overlooking the garden greenery along with outdoor seating and table.
On the inside there are two bedrooms with one queen bed in each, along with drawers, tallboys, bedsides, wardrobes, etc.

It can cater for up to six people. Four people will cover the two bedrooms with two people in each, and if required, two extra people can sleep on air mattresses that I can situate around the house. I have one single sized air mattress and one double sized air mattress.

Guests have access to the garden gazebo area. You will also have access to all kitchenware, appliances and furniture.
There is also plenty of parking space in the undercover driveway if you have any cars.
There is a washing machine available with washing powder and fabric softener.
Trampoline is not recommended as i cannot guarantee it is sturdy and is to be used in your own risk.

My family and I will be available throughout the day until 9pm for any queries or questions you may have. I will be situated close-by in the house next door and readily available for any questions or queries you may have.

Rest assured though, the house is quite separate from the main house and I can guarantee lots of privacy living there.

I will be providing things such as towels, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, clean bed sheets, pillows and blankets.

There will be basic food items such as coffee, tea, milk, sugar, bread, jam, cheese, eggs, honey and corn flakes.
Kitchen appliances and items such as a toaster, coffee maker, fridge, stove and oven, kettle, cutlery, knives and plates will also be available.

The neighbourhood is very good, quiet and safe. We are located on a Cul-de-sac and so there is no noise of traffic and cars around us.

There is also a bus stop about 500 metres away from us which will take you directly to the train station if public transport is your method of transport.
If you have a car then we have plenty of parking space in our undercover driveway.

- "I liked it. " - "When we arrived they had lost our booking. I could not get through the security gate but snuck in behind another car, looking for help. A man did approach us and helped us. I never caught his name he did not introduce himself. My wife was recovering from surgery and the 45 odd minutes it took to confirm the booking greatly affected her, having to sit in the car whilst that was being sorted out. The first thing I saw when we finally got in to the apartment was a glass dining table with smear marks on it. Substandard cleaning. Every glass window, door, and mirror were the same. The place was unclean. I finished up going to the supermarket and picking up some paper towel and doing some cleaning myself. There are dirty marks all over the apartment walls. There are broken cupboard doors, drawers that can’t be opened safely, holes in the feature cabinets, and wonky furniture that has been amateurishly repaired with nail heads protruding. There was no remote control for the television. I rang the number provided and was told a remote would be delivered but it did not arrive. I scoured the apartment cupboards and shelves looking for it. I looked under the couch. It was disgusting. There were food scraps under there and it obviously hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. When I saw the first cockroach come out from under the couch I wasn’t surprised. It was a feature. Cockroaches. The lock box number was incorrect. I’m running out of characters there’s more Refund "

Food wise there is the Jarrahdale Tavern, the Jarrahdale General Store and the Serpentine Bistro on the Dam to only name a few. Millbrook Winery is a must if you’re looking for something more upmarket (bookings recommended). There is also the Kings Road Brewing Co only a short drive away.

Looking for something different? You can visit the Bodhinyana Buddhist monastery (8 min drive) and maybe participate in the daily offering (10.30am).

The horses are very curious and will come greet you… and try to nib on your car if you let them! Don’t worry we offer a fenced out area for that reason – Of course there is also an abundance of wildlife and the kangaroos come out in force at dusk and dawn.
