The The bed was alright but the pillows were shapeless and lumpy. Neighbourhood was a bit noisier than expected with barking dogs and we had an unfortunate early morning when one of the neighbours decided it was appropriate to start blasting music for the entire neighbourhood. The owner Julio was more than helpful, going out of his way to bring us to the accommodation on the first day. Mid way through the stay we had some issues with water and he was immediately contactable by whatsapp and came immediately to resolve the issue. We couldn't fault his hospitality at all. "

- "As seasoned travellers, you become more aware of what you like and don’t like when staying away. And there was absolutely nothing we disliked about the villa and plenty that we did like. It was perfect for us; a veritable ‘home from home’! The location was fantastic, right in the middle of the beautiful and green Oratava valley with wonderful views of the sea in one direction and of Mount Teide from the other. Puerto de la Cruz is only a 10 minute drive away and offers some fantastic restaurants (do try Talle Seve Dias and Mil Sabores there and the more local eateries such as Titos and Mirador in the monastery). There is easy access to the motorways so you can easily travel to other areas: there is so much to see and do here. The villa itself was far more spacious than the photos portray and had every convenience. It was completely private, not overlooked at all. It was clean and well cared for as you would expect from a quality rental, but it was more than that: it still felt like someone’s home and was cared for as such. The sofas, the pictures, the antiques, the well equipped kitchen, the powerful showers, the airiness of the rooms. The garden was something else and we took away some ideas we’d like to try at home. And Desmond was wonderful; unobtrusive but immediately there with a helpful response to any questions. We loved staying in the north of Tenerife: it is so green and lush and sub-tropical. The scenery is magnificent and drives to Mascar or up Mount Teide can be quite emotional. So would we return to this part of the world? Yes. And would we come back to Villa Jardin Botanica? The bright living area stands out due to the still existing trough, which preserves the original character of the house. In this living area there are also two additional sleeping options, one of them in an annex. Otherwise, the sofa beds invite you to cuddle or read comfortably. On cool evenings, a fireplace ensures comfort and romance. The open kitchen is fully equipped and fits harmoniously into the living area. The spacious bathroom is also worth mentioning, because it is equipped with a so-called rain shower, so that nothing stands in the way of a relaxing wellness program. In front of the house is the terrace, directly in the green, with a view of palm trees and avocado trees. It is equipped with a large table and six chairs. There are also two adjustable wooden loungers for sunbathing.
