The house was beautiful and full of windows, so even though it was a cold rainy weekend we still felt like we were enjoying the scenery. The only con was the fact that you could not drive right up to the cabin. This left us making multiple trips to the car for checking in and checking out. The map that was provided was a little confusing on where you were allowed to drive and not drive and which cabin was ours. I think a little rope across the part where you needed to stop driving would have been super helpful. If you have mobility issues this would not be the best location to stay. You would want to choose the cabin right by the parking lot. "

We are animal lovers and allow 1 dog (maximum) at the cabin. Dog needs to be over 1 year old, less than 60 lbs, fully house trained, and guests must be willing to adhere to rules around having a dog at the cabin (see below). Dogs are $30/day.

A few requests for guests reserving the cabin:
- Guest making reservation must be 25 years or older to rent the cabin and be present for the duration of the stay.
- The cabin is a non-smoking property, which includes any use of tobacco, natural, and/or vaping inside the cabin.
- Parties/large events are not allowed at the cabin. Violations can result in guests being removed from the property without refund.
- If bringing a dog, please read under "Other Things To Note" for information on bringing a dog to the cabin. Thank you!

FOR DOG OWNERS: Please make an honest assessment of whether your dog would be a good fit for the cabin based on the following criteria and house rules.

Requirements: We have a maximum dog occupancy of one (1).

Dog must be…
- Fully house trained.
- At least one (1) year old.
- Spayed or neutered.
- Less than 60 lbs.
- Up to date on flea and tick medication.
- Must NOT be a heavy shedding breed.

House Rules:
- No dogs on furniture without pet blankets (we provide these).
- Leash dogs while outside to protect neighbors, other dogs, and wildlife.
- Crate your dog when they’re alone indoors. Please bring a crate.
- Wipe off wet/muddy paws; towels will be provided for this. Towels provided for guests are NOT to be used for cleaning or drying dog.
- Pick up dog waste, bag/tie, and place inside one of the covered bins outside. Bags will be provided.
- Report any damages or complaints to us right away.
- Hosts retain the right to require immediate removal of any dog if the animal is being disruptive, causing damage, posing a risk to people or other animals, or for other major violations.
- Guest agrees that any damage or injury caused by their dog(s) to our property or other guest pets, or to any persons is the sole responsibility and liability of the pet owner.

Dog Fees:
$30 per dog per night, due after your dog/s have been approved. You’ll receive an email requesting payment of any outstanding pet fees. Dog fees are not applied to extra cleaning costs or damage repairs. Dog fees must be paid within one week of reservation being made or, if reservation is made within one week of check-in date, dog fees must be paid within 24 hours of making reservation.
Dog Deposits:
$200, fully refundable. Deposit will be returned within one week after check-out, less any charges for damages, extra cleaning or other pet-related costs. Damages and/or excess cleaning beyond $200 may be pursued utilizing VRBO's reimbursement process.

A peaceful cabin retreat in the Hocking Hills region in southeast Ohio. The cabin is nestled on nearly one acre and directly beside the 26,000 acre Zaleski State Forest surrounding Lake Hope in Vinton County. This secluded cabin offers natural serenity and is a perfect place to get away and unplug. Enjoy a relaxing covered front porch, a warm outdoor fire or a walk in the woods. This cabin consists of two bedrooms, a living room with a tv, a well equipped kitchen and a full bathroom (all linens included). The rustic decor compliments the cabin's comfy and cozy feel. Because our cabin is centrally located between Athens, Hocking and Vinton counties, you have plenty of recreation at your disposal.

Beechwood was the second cabin to grow our business. It provides wheelchair access with a ramp leading to the front door. Inside you'll find a blue theme with an open floor concept and a loft bedroom. Cuddle up on the couch in front of a gas log fireplace, or go out front and make your own fire at the ring. On the screened-in back porch you'll have a nice view of the woods leading down the hill. With it facing the back you will have privacy and exclusive use of the hot tub. There is a decent stereo with bluetooth to listen to music, a fully equipped kitchen, and games for your use.

Dogwood sits at the very top of the hill of our stays. You'll enter through the front porch, where you'll find a unique set of chairs to sit and take in the woods. Inside, you'll find an Indian theme of reds and browns. You'll be greeted by the sitting area and a gas log fireplace. On the other side is our fully equipped kitchen, off that is your bathroom. In the loft is your bedroom with a sturdy queen size bed. Out the back is a screened in porch with your own private hot tub.

Cabin is also used as guest house so it is close to the main house. We are an operating farm and have the usual farm noises. Private Full bath is located near cabin in Barn. 3 Twin Beds. Double Recliner. Sleeps 3 comfortably. Double recliner could be used for extra guests. During your stay you can hunt on the State Forest land or Fish on the private property. We are bordered on three sides with Zaleski State Forest. Also, depending on the time of year the fishing can be great on Raccoon Creek which we also border. Spring produces good sized Bass. The rest of the year you never know what you might catch. Spring and Fall Wild Turkey Seasons & Deer Hunting. Check ODNR for Dates.

Bring fishing equipment for Lake Hope State Park or the stocked pond with Large Mouth Bass (catch and release only). Hiking trails nearby. Horse back riding, Hocking Hills attractions and Lake Hope are all within 20 minutes. The Moonville Tunnel (which is supposed to be haunted) is 5 miles away. The Moonville Trail starts about 1/4 of a mile away. You can ride bikes, horses or hike this trail (no Motorized Vehiciles).

Special events are the Endoro Dirt Bike Ride, the Car Rally Races. We are near the Rocky Boot Outlet in Nelsonville, OH.

WHAT TO BRING:
- Not much! We provide all the essentials that you'll need - coffee, paper towels, soap/shampoo/conditioner, toilet paper, robes, firewood and fire starters, and plenty of propane for the grill. You may want to bring some slippers or shower shoes to walk to the hot tub, it's about 20 steps from the cabin on a well-lit concrete pathway.

Guests have access to the entire home and 7.5-acre property. Please be mindful of the area and do not go beyond the driveway you made the U-turn to get to the cabin as it is private property.

Secluded on 7.5 private acres, there is another cabin nearby that is unoccupied, all of the acreage is yours to explore!

The driveway is steep, a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is recommended though not always necessary when the weather is nice. The property may be difficult to access in the winter if there is snow - we make every effort to have the driveway cleared, however, there is a chance you may need to park at the bottom of the driveway and walk up about 400 yards.

Please note there is limited mobile phone reception, especially for Verizon customers. AT&T and T-Mobile customers may get reception but it is not guaranteed.

While the StarLink internet service is incredible for remote areas, please note that storms may cause intermittent connectivity issues.

If you do go down to the creek, please no swimming!

There is another cabin on the property that is unoccupied, please do not try and enter it as it is unsafe.

Your total reservation fee for this home includes a per-booking damage waiver fee, including any applicable taxes. The damager waiver ensures coverage for any accidental damage caused to the home or its contents, including appliances and furnishings, up to a maximum of $3,000. However, to benefit from this coverage, you must report the incident to the host before you check out. The damage waiver serves as a replacement for the conventional security deposit.

Two security cameras are in place on the property, one facing the driveway and one at the front door. The cameras actively record video for your protection and safety.

This cabin is tucked away in the woods, so from time to time, you may notice a bug or small critter inside. We have regular pest control to help manage this, but nature does have a way of sneaking in. In the fall especially, you might see some lady beetles looking for a cozy spot to land—totally harmless, just part of the seasonal charm of being in the forrest.

We also very much appreciate that the cabin is dog–friendly, our four-legged friends also enjoyed their stay. We packed way more stuff than we needed to. The cabin is equipped with almost everything you can think of including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dish soap, tinfoil, plastic baggies, dishes, towels, coffee, spices, dog bowls, dog bed, treats, etc. it was like staying in someone’s home. The cabin is small, but reasonably sized for two people. We unpacked and put most of our things in the big dresser in the bedroom, and put our bags under the bed. The bigger totes and luggage we put out on the front porch to keep the inside of the cabin uncluttered since there isn’t much storage space. We ventured out to Old Man’s Cave one day, it was about a 25 minute drive from the cabin. We also stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things, also about 25 minutes away. We only had two full days at the cabin and the second day we decided to stay put, relax and enjoy the amenities. Next time we will definitely book a longer stay! We are getting married in just a couple of months and talked about going back to the cabin in the future to celebrate anniversaries."

Of all of our luxury cabins, The Boat House offers the most rustic experience having originally been a pole barn. The Boat House has had many updates over the years and is now one of our most popular accommodations. Add-ons upon add-ons make this a one of a kind space. Lots of knotty pine, a copper sink in the large bathroom, railroad ties used for the fireplace mantle.....and that just scratches the surface! Go and see for yourself! Fish from the johnboat, sit by the fire pit, and take in the wooded views from each window

Private patio at the rear of the Boat House includes a fire pit (wood is available for sale), 2-person hammock and private picnic area.

Generous living spaces with large family room and vaulted ceilings, recessed lighting, ceiling fans, and wide plank wood floors. The seasonal wood-burning fireplace is sure to impress. Entertainment options include: 2 Smart TVs and complementary live broadcasting through Youtube TV.

The Boat House had been used as a Guest House when the Lake House was a private home. Separate Gazebos on the lake insure privacy while dining or conversing on the water. Separation is maintained both physically and visually through discrete plantings and separate parking. Every effort has been made to assure the privacy and comfort of our guests.

You will fall in love with our newly renovated bathroom with radiant floor heating. The warmth to the touch when you get in from the hot tub or out of the shower is to die for.

Wildwood Dome is 450 sq ft and features a king size bed, living area and fully equipped kitchenette. Your private bathroom is located a short walk away and has a shower with rainfall shower head, toilet and sink/vanity. The spacious deck is outfitted with a BBQ grill, seating, firepit and a soaking tub.

Amenities: We provide tons of extras so you can pack light. All linens/towels are provided. You will also find coffee+tea/honey(local),creamer, 1/2 dozen local eggs, spices, oils and condiments in the kitchen. Local shampoo bars and body soap are provided in the bathroom.

(An extensive list of what is provided and amenities will be sent 14 days before check in to help you pack light.)

WIFI:
We do have Wi-Fi (though no cell service) but we strongly encourage guests to disconnect during their stay at Rooted Domes. Here you will find a unique opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just BE. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surrounding forest and indulge your senses with an array of engaging activities to enhance your stay, including games, puzzles, coloring books, musical instruments, yoga mats, and much more!

There is a second Dome on the property and the domes are orientated for the most privacy. The domes/guests share the parking area, the pathway to the site and access to the creek and forest. Please observe a quiet time (low music) between 9pm and 8am so everyone can enjoy the sounds of the forest! :)
