About this space
Two bedroom, two bath cabin built in 2024, located ONLY 2 miles from the "Enchanted Acres" Wedding Venues. It's the perfect location if you are attending a wedding or just want to get away from it all and be in the middle of Gods country with 360 degrees of beautiful scenery. Just 15 minutes from New Philadelphia and 3 nearby lakes (Tappan, Leesville, and Atwood). We are just waiting for Fall to approach for this one of a kind.

2 bedrooms with queen beds. Two large sectionals and a futon for additional sleeping space. The Butternut is located on 5 acres. Wildlife abundant.

Other things to note
The cabin is in the country 15 minutes to the nearest town. Very secluded. There are 2 smart tv’s available, but you will need to use your own mobile hotspot to use them. We built this place in 2023 as a getaway. We had local Amish friends custom saw and kiln dry our boards including butternut, white oak, and walnut. We hope you enjoy it as well. Our family comes here to spend time away from the everyday rat race.

This cabin is a great location as a home base for many adventures and interesting sites. Located 1/2-hour from all the attractions in Amish Country, and the same to Canton and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, First Ladies Museum, McKinley Museum, great restaurants, etc. Atwood Lake East Marina is 0.8 miles from the cabin, with boat and pontoon rentals. In winter, cross-country skiers can go back-and-forth on about 12 acres of open land, or if you are a hiker, there are 43 acres with a open paths, plus another 40-acres of public wooded land that abuts my property.
Live theater is available within a 90-minute drive in Cleveland and Pgh as well as professional sports there.
Those wishing to do none of the above, to just decompress for a few days or a week will find this ideal. Very peaceful, scenic, bucolic setting. You truly can do as much or as little as you want. Picture yourself sitting on the deck, glass of wine in hand, watching a beautiful Carroll County sunset, or watching the flames dance over the outdoor fire pit, which will be lit and waiting for your arrival.

The space

The container is equipped with a private Queen bed and spacious unique bathroom. The fully stocked kitchen is complete with a hot plate, toaster oven, Keurig plus coffee and a large mini refrigerator, grill plus propane. The bar top rests upon an old bicycle frame. The container offers Paid wifi but no TV. It has all of the other modern amenities! There are books, magazines, board games and cards!

••••••TAKE NOTE—-OHIO WINTER!!••••
The driveway is DEEP gravel and some call it steep. This isn’t New York Folks. I do not recommend a car from Fast and Furious 1-4, it likely won’t make it up the drive. Winter months in Ohio are tough. I work hard to maintain it. I recommend 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive. Or at least someone who knows how to drive in an Ohio Winter!
The drive is best traveled at the rate of Go during any season!!

Heating source is baseboard. Cooling source is air conditioners. The air conditioners are also dehumidifiers and mostly run all the time. Please see house rules regarding check out and the heating/cooling.

There is a propane grill and a fire pit. You must bring wood. Or Firewood is for sale, $8 a bundle. I need to know before your stay.

DOGS: They are welcome! They MUST remain leashed while outside and CANNOT be left unattended in the container. You must clean up after your dog inside and outside. There are other dogs around and the road is close. You will be held responsible for damage done by your dog. I have provided a poop scooper.

Formerly a hired hand house on the farm that was here, this tiny but roomy home has been carefully restored to its original open concept with all new wiring, plumbing, insulation, windows and doors. The original floors were repaired and refinished. The large leaded glass-doored cupboard was salvaged from a house that burned, restored, and built into this house. We do consider and accept most pets with a limit of two and preferably 50 lbs. or less. We expect responsible pet ownership as far as cleaning up the yard of waste, sweeping up of large amounts of pet hair, and preventing damages to furnishings in the house. Dogs may not be left loose or unattended in the yard and may not be staked out anywhere on the property. Our pet fee is $10 per night per pet. This is a very pet friendly neighborhood.

This spacious home has 2 separate bedrooms, with 3 Queen Zinus memory foam beds that sleeps 6 guests. The open concept kitchen/ living room has 2 couches for additional sleep space. We feel 6 guest is standard however more could be possible if utilizing the 2 couches or 2 futons

The Full bathroom is complete with a bath/shower, double sink and toilet along with shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, wash clothes, hair dryer, flat iron, curling iron and a steamer to make getting ready a breeze!

Staying for a extended family vacation? No need to pack extra, we have a first floor HE front load washer and dryer.

The dual decks and patios allow for outdoor relaxation in Adirondack chairs. Listen to the birds, gaze at the stars or just sip your coffee while reading a book. During the fall and winter you do have a limited lake view from the upper deck.

The cabin is in a dock landing and therefore does have neighbors close by and is not secluded. Neighboring cabins are not included in the photos to maintain our neighbors privacy. Please be respectful of others property and your volume.

We provided turn by turn directions prior to checkin. The roads to the cabin are steep so a 4wheel drive could be helpful if your traveling in inclement weather such as snow. All roads are paved except a few short gravel roads leading to our cabin.your

There is a flight of stairs inside to access the apartment. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking. The unit is located within miles of several wineries and Tappen Lake is about 11 minutes away. The stairs are steep going into the apartment from outside entrance, must be able to navigate stairs safely. There is a handrail.

The roads are winding and some are gravel and the cell service was spotty at times but all of that information was conveyed at checkin! Neighboring area people friendly. Loft ladder too steep for my rotator cuff recuperation but recliners and sofa perfect!!! Would love to return or rent any other of their other 2 properties. Hidden gem —Prop and Paddle Tavern (south fork marina) was found on an adventure drive! An A+ for host and property!"
