Two bedroom, two bath cabin built in 2024, located ONLY 2 miles from the "Enchanted Acres" Wedding Venues. It's the perfect location if you are attending a wedding or just want to get away from it all and be in the middle of Gods country with 360 degrees of beautiful scenery. Just 15 minutes from New Philadelphia and 3 nearby lakes (Tappan, Leesville, and Atwood). We are just waiting for Fall to approach for this one of a kind.

2 bedrooms with queen beds. Two large sectionals and a futon for additional sleeping space. The Butternut is located on 5 acres. Wildlife abundant.

The cabin is in the country 15 minutes to the nearest town. Very secluded. There are 2 smart tv’s available, but you will need to use your own mobile hotspot to use them. We built this place in 2023 as a getaway. We had local Amish friends custom saw and kiln dry our boards including butternut, white oak, and walnut. We hope you enjoy it as well. Our family comes here to spend time away from the everyday rat race.

- "The cabin is located in the middle of woods and is quite secluded. It had most of the necessities for a quick stay. However, the place was quite small and the bathroom was tiny and stuffy. My husband who is 6 ft could not get in to the bathroom without bending down. There was a fire pit but no fire. Fridge and the toaster oven was not clean. There was a bag of garbage and empty beer bottle thrown on the front yard" - "Overall we were disappointed with our stay. The Cabin was extremely small and not suitable for the amount of people allowed to stay. The couch downstairs is a futon and not a Queen pull out as advertised. The shower was extremely unclean as well. "

This cabin is a great location as a home base for many adventures and interesting sites. Located 1/2-hour from all the attractions in Amish Country, and the same to Canton and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, First Ladies Museum, McKinley Museum, great restaurants, etc. Atwood Lake East Marina is 0.8 miles from the cabin, with boat and pontoon rentals. In winter, cross-country skiers can go back-and-forth on about 12 acres of open land, or if you are a hiker, there are 43 acres with a open paths, plus another 40-acres of public wooded land that abuts my property.
Live theater is available within a 90-minute drive in Cleveland and Pgh as well as professional sports there.
Those wishing to do none of the above, to just decompress for a few days or a week will find this ideal. Very peaceful, scenic, bucolic setting. You truly can do as much or as little as you want. Picture yourself sitting on the deck, glass of wine in hand, watching a beautiful Carroll County sunset, or watching the flames dance over the outdoor fire pit, which will be lit and waiting for your arrival.

No Pet/Cleaning Fee!! Riverside Hideout is a thoughtfully constructed shipping container home tucked into the woods & hills near the Tuscarawas River. Located near Tow Path trails, HOF, Amish Country, Atwood Lake, Tappan Lake, Historic Zoar, Swiss Festival.

The space

The container is equipped with a private Queen bed and spacious unique bathroom. The fully stocked kitchen is complete with a hot plate, toaster oven, Keurig plus coffee and a large mini refrigerator, grill plus propane. The bar top rests upon an old bicycle frame. The container offers Paid wifi but no TV. It has all of the other modern amenities! There are books, magazines, board games and cards!

••••••TAKE NOTE—-OHIO WINTER!!••••
The driveway is DEEP gravel and some call it steep. This isn’t New York Folks. I do not recommend a car from Fast and Furious 1-4, it likely won’t make it up the drive. Winter months in Ohio are tough. I work hard to maintain it. I recommend 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive. Or at least someone who knows how to drive in an Ohio Winter!
The drive is best traveled at the rate of Go during any season!!

Heating source is baseboard. Cooling source is air conditioners. The air conditioners are also dehumidifiers and mostly run all the time. Please see house rules regarding check out and the heating/cooling.

There is a propane grill and a fire pit. You must bring wood. Or Firewood is for sale, $8 a bundle. I need to know before your stay.

You will have complete access to the whole container and the immediate surroundings.

The space immediately around the Container is yours to explore.
Absolutely no parties.
No overnight guests past the 4 person occupancy.
Fires must only be within the fire ring. Please extinguish fire with water and never leave it unattended.

The Container is cleaned and linens are washed with Melaleuca. We do not provide paper towels, but several reusable towels.

Please try not to bring rocks into the tub
If you spill a beverage inside the tub, report it so I know how to clean the tub.
When you remove cover, take it off towards the container and lay it up against the container.

DOGS: They are welcome! They MUST remain leashed while outside and CANNOT be left unattended in the container. You must clean up after your dog inside and outside. There are other dogs around and the road is close. You will be held responsible for damage done by your dog. I have provided a poop scooper.

NO MINORS (under 18 may not place the reservation), they also must be accompanied by an adult, over 18 at all times.

NO UNREGISTERED GUESTS. The cost to add an extra guest is low, just do it.

Beach is small, just a 5 minute walk down the street, no lifeguard so you assume all liability. Awesome Leesville Lake is 1000 acres with 2700 acres of Land. 2 marinas on lake - boat rental. Master bedroom has queen Temperpedic bed, Full bed in second BR and 2 singles on first floor. Town is 10 - 15 minute drive. Quiet and Serene - Great place to get away from it all, but cell service isn't good except for Verizon. Small beach for association - no lifeguard, 1 hour 20-40 minutes from East side of Cleveland. 2 hours from West side of Cleveland. 2 hours from Columbus and Pittsburg as well! New Deck in front of house July 2017 - aluminum tables and chairs on deck, also there are 6 folding camp chairs for fire pit stored under stairs, 3 hanging chairs, a two person hammock and 4 zero gravity chairs. Price is for 4 people. Additional price $25 per person per night - MAXIMUM 6 people.

House is on the lake road on the non-lake side, but is beautifully situated in the trees on a hill. DRIVEWAY IS ON KNOLLWOOD, ONE STREET BEFORE ROCKWOOD DRIVE. ADDRESS IS ON BACK OF HOUSE AS WELL AS FRONT. Reflectors with 3622 address on poles on driveway on KNOLLWOOD.

No Bachelor parties or partiers! Rowdy partiers who disturb neighbors, will not receive security deposit back. No pets of any kind. No smokers of any kind- any of these types of guests will not receive their security deposits back. Sorry!

Please be advised that house is on a hill which may be an issue for the elderly when walking to street below house. The grass on the hill may be slippery when wet. No Dogs/Pets. Mostly Verizon service works in house and on parts of lake.

If you rent this house, you agree to hold Harmless the Owner and the Rockwood Park Owner Association (RPOA), from any and all liability of any kind, regardless of fault. The Owner and RPOA make no representations or warranties regarding the roads, the beach, the docks, the water or electrical supply, or security. The dock is only for the use of members of the RPOA. THE KEY MUST BE PUT BACK IN THE LOCKBOX ONLY - if the Owner has to drive to the house there is a $120 trip charge as he is located approx. 2 hours away from the house.
