This recently updated 1960’s bungalow was one of the original properties on Harvey's Peninsula Rd, owned by the Harvey sisters. It's stone and wood charm combined with lake views and the wooded setting are the perfect ingredients for a mountain lake getaway! It's 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and full size pull out couch, which have all been recently updated, will sleep 9 people easily. The large kitchen, which has been recently remodeled opens into the great room and overlooks the deck and Deep Creek Lake. There's not a better place to start your mornings! During the warmer months, all doors and windows are fitted with screens to be able to enjoy that crisp mountain air, as there is no A/C. Some of the house's features include; all new luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout, wood burning stove, baseboard heat, full stainless appliances, ceiling fans in each room, Smart TVs in each bedroom so you can sign into all of your streaming platforms (There is no cable TV!) fast Wifi, fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking desires- including a Keurig, regular coffee pot, blender, toaster, propane grill, large newly re modeled composite deck with safety railing, plenty tables and chairs, fire pit with chairs, spacious parking area, walkway with steps that lead to our large dock and reclining chairs. We do accept a maximum of (2) dogs, and ask that you are diligent about cleaning up after them. There is a non refundable pet fee, as we have had irresponsible
pet owners in the past. We do not allow any pets other than dogs. There is 2 kayaks available to use, with access whether the dock is in or not. Dock is only guaranteed to be in in June 1- October 1, however dates do fluctuate (Normally is in the end of April and out the end of Oct.)
Conveniently located to all that Deep Creek has to offer yet, far enough from the hustle and bustle to really feel like you can escape it all. We are 9 miles from Wisp Ski Resort and about 4 miles from several popular restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters, and other attractions.

I did miss that the house didn't have AC despite it being in the listing..but it really wan't a problem because there are ceiling fans in every room, trees providing shade and cool breezes from the Lake. Matt was super responsive to any questions that we had. We would definitely rent again!"

- "We had a great time at this cottage, which was really cozy and nicely decorated! There are some things I would warn future potential guests about. First, vehicles with all-wheel drive are essential for the neighborhood, as our group had to push vehicles multiple times when it snowed and the roads hadn't been plowed. Second, the oven's dashboard was a bit glitchy, and we had to smack the oven a few times to get it to show the temperature (after calling the owner for advice). Also, the lock for the sliding door was really difficult for us to lock. It took about five minutes and a few different people trying before we could get it, and this happened a few times throughout our stay. Finally, there were some inconsistencies about amenities provided on the VRBO listing and what the owner wrote in the property info. Fortunately, we were able to communicate with them to get clarification (whether sheets/towels are provided), but it seems like something that could be easily fixed."

- "The cabin was very nice. The add needs to be updated though. Add states there is shampoo and soap. There was no shampoo. Wifi password was not under the modem but in the book. And the dish washer was full of dishes did not know if they were clean or dirty. Was on a weekend get away and was not about to put dishes away. Saw lots of nature ( 25+ deer the day we were leaving), many different birds, an otter, and heard the peeping frogs as well...something we miss in Florida.We hiked in the rain most days, and watched lots of movies most nights. Built a fire in the fireplace 3 nights but never did build one in the firepit due to the rain. Looked like a great spot for s'mores. Cottage is well equipped, cozy, just really perfect. We had everything we needed to cook a big Easter dinner. Another day we purchased fresh oysters in Oakland and feasted on those as well as great shrimp from the Arrow market in Deep Creek right down the road on Rte 219. Everything was very convenient. My husband and his brother golfed at Thousand Acres and Alpine Lake and mostly had the courses to themselves. All in all.........very, very nice."

Beautiful Craftsman style house on 2 acres with large decks on front and back of property that will allow you to take in the views of nature! Steps from driveway is the lake access (not lake front). The house can comfortably sleep 10 with brand new mattresses (July 22) and accommodations that families can appreciate. Finished basement with ping pong table, air hockey, outside fire pit with Adirondack chairs, plus space for can jam, cornhole, whiffle ball etc.
*Weather in the winter can be unpredictable. 4WD is recommended during heavy snow.
Docks are a 5 minute walk down private road. Lake Access for fishing, kayaking, etc, is across from driveway, down path.

The place was extremely clean, had a great kitchen, and was private. Our group consisted of 7 adults and 2 kids (ages 6 and 2). The room with the bunk beds was perfect for our small kids. The two master bedrooms are spacious, with comfortable beds. The master on the 3rd floor is in a loft-like/bonus room type of space, so there is no door but it still offers privacy. The room with the trundle bed is small, especially when pulled out to a king, so it may not be ideal for larger/taller adults. If using as only a twin, then you’ll be fine regarding space in the room. We had a bit of a time with the pull out in the basement but figured it out and it slept comfortably as well. It appears that there are hooks that help to keep it from sliding out completely and the pull-out part can get off track of these. I notified the owner, as we thought it was broken, but it ended up not affecting our being able to use it as a bed, so there was room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The kitchen is great! A nice long table to seat everyone, two ovens, and tons of silverware, dishes, pots, pans, and cooking utensils. We brought a lot of cookware with us, not knowing what may be available and not wanting to have to run out, but we thankfully had almost everything we needed. The house is tucked into the woods, so I advise trying to arrive and leave while the sun is up. Lots of deer around – we saw some in the yard each morning! The lake is right across from the house and down a little path in the woods between two houses. We took a stroll down to see it a couple of times and I’m sure during the warmer months it’s a lot of fun. Lots of windows that bring in the light as the sun rises and a big backyard. There was a little snow leftover and it was pretty cold, so we didn’t take advantage of the firepit but I see the potential during the warmer months for utilizing the deck, patio, and porch. The owner, Melissa, was super responsive and very easy to work with, and quickly available for a few questions we had after arriving and even on Thanksgiving! She checked to make sure we had arrived ok and even followed up to ask about an item we accidentally left. Definitely a top-notch host! We would love to come back and I definitely recommend to anyone considering this rental."

Bring the whole family and enjoy a large level lot with a firepit and cornhole boards. Your dock slip is a short 2 minute walk with a beach cart to help get all your necessities to the lake! Come back and hangout on the back deck with space to conversate, BBQ and dip in the hot tub! The loft has an oversized beanbag and foosball table along with two separate living areas! End the night in front of the large stone wood burning fireplace watching a movie!

You will enter on the ground/entrance level into a family room with a large comfy couch, love seat and chair to watch TV on one of six smart TVs in the home. On the ground/entrance level you will also find the closet with the beach cart and cornhole boards. The laundry room, a full bath and bedroom with a queen bed and smart TV are also located on the ground/entrance level.

Upstairs on the main level of the home you will find the fully equipped kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliance including a double oven, dishwasher, microwave and large refrigerator. Plenty of cooking utensils, plastic dishware for kids, wineglasses, Keurig with starter KCups, crockpot, toaster, blender and BBQ utensils. You will also have plenty of cabinet space to store your food items.

Also on the main level is the dining room with seating for 8 adults and living room with a two story wood burning stone fireplace surrounded by two leather couches and love seat with comfy throw pillows and a large bench that can be used as an ottoman, more seating or as a coffee table.

From the main level dining you can access the back deck which has two sets of stairs to ground level (one to the driveway one to the yard). In the spacious level yard is the firepit and Adirondack chairs. The back deck is where you will find the hot tub which is available all year and a propane BBQ grill, dining table with umbrella and other out door seating that is available May thru October.

From the living room you can access the front balcony which has a dining table with chairs and two sets of chairs with side tables.

Down the hall from the kitchen you will find a full bath with a tub and two bedrooms. Bedroom 2 with a full size bed and smart TV. In bedroom 2 closet will be a vacuum and broom and dustpan. Bedroom 3 with a queen bed, a set of twin bunk beds and smart TV. In bedroom 3 closet will be extra pillows and blankets if needed and a baby gate.

Upstairs in the loft is an oversized beanbag to hangout in while reading a book or watching a game of foosball. You will also find boardgames, books and puzzles in the loft.

Also in the loft is another full bath with a shower and a large private bedroom with a queen bed and smart TV. In the loft bedroom you will find a pack n play with clean sheets for your use.

All bedrooms have ceiling fans and darkening shades for your comfort.

Please bring paper products such as paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates and napkins. There will be a starter roll of paper towels in the kitchen and two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. Dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, hand soap and basic cleaning supplies are provided. Your bath towels are provided but be sure to bring beach towels for the hot tub and lake. A bundle of wood will be provided for the fireplace and firepit. More can be purchased locally.

A welcome book will be located on the kitchen counter with check in and check out procedures, hot tub directions, fireplace directions, area information and directions to your dock slip. You will also find a state park pass for your use during your stay. The pass must be returned to the welcome book before your departure. Also you will be able to enjoy the Garrett College Community Aquatic and Recreation Complex during your stay free of charge.

Please don't park on the grass.

Please make sure all garbage is removed from the home upon departure and placed in the bear safe containers at the end of the driveway.

- "We have stayed at many rentals around the US but this was one of our best vacations. Of course good luck and fresh snow added to the experience, but the cabin was truly excellent and met all of our needs and expectations. The pictures are current and represent the layout well. The house is clean and very well maintained. The layout was great for two families with teenagers…the three floors allowed use to spread out when we wanted to, but the large dining room table and living room with all the recliners and beautiful fireplace was perfect for spending time together. We also appreciated that the kitchen was well stocked for cooking all meals (very nice appliances and ample utensils/pans) and that starter supplies were provided until we could get to the store. The lower level entry with tile was excellent for all our snowboarding gear and for people to get geared up/ready in…we did bring a space heater to warm the common area for lounging in/watching TV, but the bedroom and bathroom were cozy without the additional heat source. We look forward to returning the n the summer so we can enjoy the lake. Thank you for an awesome winter getaway!"

The space
Take a seat on the Covered Porch or take a stroll around the property-- 3 Acres of Private Woods with a fire pit and Trail to the Lake are yours for savoring. Borrow our complimentary Snow Shoes to view rare expanses of unoccupied terrain. Take our Canoe out and see if you can catch local bass, bluegill, perch, or walleye with the Fishing Rods, Tackle, Paddles and Lifevests we provide.

Within 10-15 min., you'll reach Deep Creek Lake activities, and when you return home, bright street lights won't interrupt your view of the clear night sky, beautiful sounds of nature, or peaceful time with your loved ones. Three equal-sized bedrooms with a queen-sized beds and a pull-out queen sofa bed easily accommodate 6 - 8 adults with these four beds.

The backyard firepit is sure to be a place where memories are made roasting hotdogs, making smores, and catching up with those who mean the most.

More Features of The Maine Retreat
The large front and back yard offer plenty of Kid-Friendly and Pet-Friendly space for outdoor games, such as horseshoe, badminton, and cornhole. You'll find these and other fun items (frisbee, water guns, etc.) in our gaming closet or bin. You'll enjoy hours of old school indoor family entertainment from the satellite TV, DVDs, Videos, CDs, PlayStation and PS2 games on rainy mountain days. Wi-Fi was updated in Nov 2023.

Bring your bikes, as the North Glade Hills community is a great place to ride. Kids can ride through the neighborhood and adults can enjoy the long country roads. Bring kindling for the fireplace.

Nearby Deep Creek State Park (5 min) has hiking trails, boat launch, sandy beach with picnic areas and basketball courts, a science center, and tourist/info desk. WISP resort, with skiing, tubing, and more, is busy all winter (10 - 15 min away).

Guest access
Guests have full use of the property, with the exception of our locked owner's supply closet in the dining area. Guests may also use our Association's shared lake access area at North Glade Cove on Deep Creek Lake. (The lake access does not include the covered area by the lake, which is private.)

Other things to note
Linens and bath towels are provided. A few starter items are available upon arrival. We provide a starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, and firewood. Guests with larger groups or long stays will want to bring more. Dish detergent and basic kitchen items are supplied. We offer a few fishing supplies and a life jacket or two. Be prepared to walk 1/4 mile or about 2-3 city blocks on wooded terrain to the lake. Most folks take 5-10 minutes.

Please do not unplug our devices for yours. We reserve the right to bill for any re-install fees.

You must report any pets staying with you. The pet fee is $100. It will be added to the AirBnB quote or held from deposit depending on your payment method. We love pets but we do ask them to be on their best behavior. Pets aren’t allowed on the furniture or bedding. Help us keep our lawn green. We ask that you walk them to the woods to “go” and pick up any accidents in the grass.

Stay at your own risk. Owners are not liable for use of the property, including the canoe, lake access, or other aspects of the home. Our home uses a combo of window a/c units and fans during the summer.

The space
You will enter on the ground/entrance level into a family room with a large comfy couch, love seat and chair to watch TV on one of six smart TVs in the home. On the ground/entrance level you will also find the closet with the beach cart and cornhole boards. The laundry room, a full bath and bedroom with a queen bed and smart TV are also located on the ground/entrance level.

Upstairs on the main level of the home you will find the fully equipped kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliance including a double oven, dishwasher, microwave and large refrigerator. Plenty of cooking utensils, plates, silverware, glassware, plastic dishware for kids, wineglasses, Keurig with starter KCups, crockpot, toaster, blender and BBQ utensils. You will also have plenty of cabinet space to store your food items.

Also on the main level is the dining room with seating for 8 adults and living room with a two story wood burning stone fireplace surrounded by two leather couches and love seat with comfy throw pillows and a large bench that can be used as an ottoman, more seating or as a coffee table.

From the main level dining you can access the back deck which has two sets of stairs to ground level (one to the driveway one to the yard). In the spacious level yard is the firepit and Adirondack chairs. The back deck is where you will find the hot tub which is available all year and a propane BBQ grill, dining table with umbrella and other out door seating that is available May thru October.

From the living room you can access the front balcony which has a dining table with chairs and two sets of chairs with side tables.

Down the hall from the kitchen you will find a full bath with a tub and two bedrooms. Bedroom 2 with a full size bed and smart TV. In bedroom 2 closet will be a vacuum and broom and dustpan. Bedroom 3 with a queen bed, a set of twin bunk beds and smart TV. In bedroom 3 closet will be extra pillows and blankets if needed and a baby gate.

Upstairs in the loft is an oversized beanbag to hangout in while reading a book or watching a game of foosball. You will also find boardgames, books and puzzles in the loft.

Also in the loft is another full bath with a shower and a large private bedroom with a queen bed and smart TV. In the loft bedroom you will find a pack n play with clean sheets for your use.

All bedrooms have ceiling fans and darkening shades for your comfort.

Please bring paper products such as paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates and napkins. There will be a starter roll of paper towels in the kitchen and two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. Dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, hand soap and basic cleaning supplies are provided. Your bath towels are provided but be sure to bring beach towels for the hot tub and lake. A bundle of wood will be provided for the fireplace and firepit. More can be purchased locally.

A welcome book will be located on the kitchen counter with check in and check out procedures, hot tub directions, fireplace directions, area information and directions to your dock slip. You will also find a state park pass for your use during your stay. The pass must be returned to the welcome book before your departure to avoid the $75 replacement fee. Also you will be able to enjoy the Garrett College Community Aquatic and Recreation Complex during your stay free of charge.
