This recently updated 1960’s bungalow was one of the original properties on Harvey's Peninsula Rd, owned by the Harvey sisters. It's stone and wood charm combined with lake views and the wooded setting are the perfect ingredients for a mountain lake getaway! It's 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and full size pull out couch, which have all been recently updated, will sleep 9 people easily. The large kitchen, which has been recently remodeled opens into the great room and overlooks the deck and Deep Creek Lake. There's not a better place to start your mornings! During the warmer months, all doors and windows are fitted with screens to be able to enjoy that crisp mountain air, as there is no A/C. Some of the house's features include; all new luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout, wood burning stove, baseboard heat, full stainless appliances, ceiling fans in each room, Smart TVs in each bedroom so you can sign into all of your streaming platforms (There is no cable TV!) fast Wifi, fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking desires- including a Keurig, regular coffee pot, blender, toaster, propane grill, large newly re modeled composite deck with safety railing, plenty tables and chairs, fire pit with chairs, spacious parking area, walkway with steps that lead to our large dock and reclining chairs. We do accept a maximum of (2) dogs, and ask that you are diligent about cleaning up after them. There is a non refundable pet fee, as we have had irresponsible
pet owners in the past. We do not allow any pets other than dogs. There is 2 kayaks available to use, with access whether the dock is in or not. Dock is only guaranteed to be in in June 1- October 1, however dates do fluctuate (Normally is in the end of April and out the end of Oct.)
Conveniently located to all that Deep Creek has to offer yet, far enough from the hustle and bustle to really feel like you can escape it all. We are 9 miles from Wisp Ski Resort and about 4 miles from several popular restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters, and other attractions.

Rock Haul is available for rent year-round for you to enjoy the many activities available at beautiful Deep Creek Lake - boating, swimming, fishing, skiing (downhill and cross country), hiking, horseback riding, or just relaxing. These properties are near to Maryland's premier State parks - Deep Creek Lake, Swallow Falls, Harrington Manor, New Germany, and the beautiful and rugged Savage River State Forest. Wisp Ski Resort and the Outdoor Adventure Center with its manmade whitewater course is within 15 -20 min. Deep Creek has become the State's finest four-season resort area, as many people are discovering.

Bring your bikes, as the North Glade Hills community is a great place to ride. Kids can ride through the neighborhood and adults can enjoy the long country roads. Nearby Deep Creek State Park has hiking trails, boat launch, public beach with picnic areas and basketball courts, a science center, and tourist/info desk.

We provide a grill, firewood, outdoor games, snowshoes for cold stays, and a canoe with life vests for warm stays.

The Maine Retreat has 3 clean, equal-sized, comfortably furnished bedrooms and a sleeper sofa. The well-maintained interior has amenities throughout which will make it feel like home. The fully equipped kitchen has hosted several Thanksgiving dinners, but private chefs can be reserved to provide escape from the kitchen as well.

- "The cabin was very nice. The add needs to be updated though. Add states there is shampoo and soap. There was no shampoo. Wifi password was not under the modem but in the book. And the dish washer was full of dishes did not know if they were clean or dirty. Was on a weekend get away and was not about to put dishes away. " - "I would have likely rated 6 stars if the weather had been nicer! ( I do know there are only 5 stars). It rained most of the week, but honestly we didn't care as its been so hot and dry here in Florida, it was kind of nice to have several rainy days. The front porch can't be beat. I imagine that the Summer and Fall are awesome as far as the lake is concerned. We didn't get to canoe or fish as it was too cold but the access to both, right through the woods and down the path, is excellent. Saw lots of nature ( 25+ deer the day we were leaving), many different birds, an otter, and heard the peeping frogs as well...something we miss in Florida.We hiked in the rain most days, and watched lots of movies most nights. Built a fire in the fireplace 3 nights but never did build one in the firepit due to the rain. Looked like a great spot for s'mores. Cottage is well equipped, cozy, just really perfect. We had everything we needed to cook a big Easter dinner. Another day we purchased fresh oysters in Oakland and feasted on those as well as great shrimp from the Arrow market in Deep Creek right down the road on Rte 219. Everything was very convenient. My husband and his brother golfed at Thousand Acres and Alpine Lake and mostly had the courses to themselves. All in all.........very, very nice."
