Very clean and everything you could need was there. Road is a little rough when you get closer to the cabin but a car would have no problems unless there was snow..4×4 would most likely be needed. The only thing that I didn't like was there was firearm discharge nearby during the days I was there..I am an avid 2A supporter but prefer to know where and what direction it's coming from and going. The space
The 1970's log cabin has been under restoration since 2018. We've done our best to keep it authentic and modern where we can. However, there are some quirks about our unique cabin you should know prior to your booking:

First, the walls are actual hand hewn logs with some gaps due to age, and the cabin is in a country setting, so it is possible that you'll encounter dusty surfaces in various parts of the home and the occasional harmless bug depending on the time of year (stinkbugs, spiders, or ladybugs are common types). Rarely are there snakes, but we have had 1 black snake (it's a harmless to humans variety) in the last 3 years, so we won't say never.

Despite the occasional bug or dust, you'll have fresh laundered bedding and a freshly cleaned room prior to your arrival.

There is no or little insulation between the wood plank floors, so sound does carry. When guests stay over, my parents observe quiet time from 10pm-8am, and this can be adjusted earlier or later to meet your individual needs. It is generally peaceful with the only sounds being bird song. The cabin is relatively dark and cozy, and there is little traffic on the single lane road.

Even though it is very close to downtown, it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, even more so if you go for a walk along the cemetery road, or one of our hiking trails. The cemetery was established in the 1860s by J. Flowers, who had 13 children! My mother and I are descended from his oldest daughter, Hermioma. A map of points of interest on the property is provided. Hiking and exploring the property is done at your own risk, we are not liable for injuries/death. You might see peacocks or bears or coyote, and the occasional scarlet tanager in the pristine oak forest to the west on our Wandering Woods Upper trail.

The WiFi is great, the tvs all have streaming services available, and the office is a good place to focus and get work accomplished without interruption. The mini-split hvac units do an excellent job of heating/cooling the entire cabin and you can adjust your rooms temperature with a remote control.

The kitchen has all the tools needed to cook something up on the gas stove, make a pot of coffee, or even a cold drink - and if you need anything special, we're happy to help make it a reality as best we can.

There is a gravel parking lot and stairs leading up into the porch, it is not ADA accessible, unfortunately, and there are stairs leading up to the 2nd floor bedrooms.

Guest access
You can access all rooms in the cabin and your designated bedroom. You may not access any other bedrooms on the 2nd floor and the basement. There is a shared full bathroom on the 2nd and 1st floor. Laundry is on the 2nd floor. There is a den on the 1st floor with a Windows PC desktop and laser printer and a Rygar vintage arcade machine for your enjoyment, and a large screen tv in the 1st floor living room. You'll receive a map of the grounds if you'd like to explore. Make yourself at home!

During your stay
Jim & Donna will be on site or on the acreage property during your stay, and will work with you on breakfast times to suit your needs. I am accessible via SMS texting and can be on site within 1hr in emergencies. As this is a 1 bedroom rental in a 4 bedroom log cabin, there may be other guests present in other rooms. We hope you'll have a lovely time at our forest adventure bed and breakfast!

Cabin D is situated on a secluded road amid a private, wooded and beautiful setting, a short walk away from the creek. There is no plumbing; it has heat, power, lighting and a private portapotty. Outside there is a private fire pit and picnic table, and a charcoal grill and a propane tabletop stove are available at no charge.

The cabin is furnished with beds, chairs, table, fridge and microwave. Showerhouse and outdoor showers are near the main lodge, or inside lodge during the cold season.

The space
Abrams Creek is near many extraordinary recreational sites, but is also its own destination. You are never far from our wild, whitewater stream that runs through a majestic hemlock forest.

Abrams Creek is more like a nature preserve than a commercial campground. On our campground, there are no generators, loud electronics, or other things that would distract from appreciating the sights and sounds of this pristine natural environment.   Campsites and cabins are well spaced out, so that there is never a feeling of crowding.  

The cabin has AC power, lighting, and heat; outside is a private portapotty. A charcoal grill and a propane tabletop stove are provided.

We sell the 1 lb propane canisters for the stove on site, as well as firewood, charcoal and other camping basics, all at competitive prices. Please do *not* bring your own firewood; this can spread many tree diseases and infestations that can harm our beautiful forests!
 
There is a fire ring and block-and-board bench outside the cabin, as well as a picnic table. There is a shower room nearby with hot and cold water, as well as sources of potable drinking water.

The campground has 20 acres of hemlock forest bordered by a wild whitewater stream.  Some areas are boulders, pools, and turbulent water—great to watch or play in.  One large area towards the end of the campground is a calm wading area good for children (with careful supervision of course), and just past that is a deeper section, 5’-7’ deep, that is good for swimming.
 
Dogs are welcome, but must be on leash when outside the cabin. Most other pets are not allowed; please contact us if you have another kind of pet to see if we can accommodate it.

There is WiFi in the vicinity of the main lodge house. There is also a phone you can use on the lodge porch, with free long distance, in case your cell phone does not have reception.

There is a general store 3 miles from the campground. It is the closest gas station, and also has a wide range of groceries, prepared food, snacks, camping supplies, ice, tools, beer, tobacco, and auto supplies, plus much more.

There is parking right at the cabin.

We are located within 30-45 minutes of many major recreational areas, including Blackwater Falls, Swallow Falls, Dolly Sods Wilderness, the Youghiogheny River, several ski resorts, and Deep Creek Lake. Mount Storm (3 miles) has a general store, gas station, library, motel, sports and recreation store, and public park.

We have less rustic accommodations as well, including a two-bedroom cottage, and conventional motel rooms.

#2 Cabin is a funky artist retreat with modern conveniences. A full bath , window AC, and electric "wood stove" style space heater. Enjoy the creek view through the back wall of midcentury styled windows while relaxing on the queen sized bed. There is a desk, a snack area with fridge, microwave, electric tea kettle, and a coffee pot. The sitting area offers space for a second or third guest to sleep on the twin daybed. Good for one to four guests in two beds. Linens available with each stay.

The space
You walk in to high ceilings, hanging lights, and large wall of windows overlooking the stream. You have a full private bath with standup shower, two beds, Roku TV, coffee pot, refrigerator, and all the amenities. Feel free to explore the huge property, catch a trout for dinner, and hike the endless trails.

You will have your cabin and can walk the entire property. The camp store is often open for last minute items, food, and conversation.

We're a family of 6 (4 kids) & built this waterfront campsite to get off grid & spend time with family & friends.

Abrams Creek flows into the Potomac River (which you can walk to from camp). Camp is located near two major ski resorts (Wisp at Deep Creek, MD & Timberline near Davis, WV), three lakes (Deep Creek, Jennings Randolph, & Mount Storm), & tons of state parks.

The space
You're stay includes 2 identical Amish-built cabins (12ftx20ft) that are designed for families of 4. The cabins are fully insulated (floors and walls) with vaulted ceilings. The interior walls and ceilings are made with pine board that gives the cabins a wonderful fresh smell.

Each cabin has:

1. A bunkbed that has a twin mattress up top, a full mattress below, and a twin trundle (meant for smaller kids)
2. A couch that converts into a bed
3. A dining nook that seats up to 5
4. Electricity, lights, a ceiling fan, and a space heater

The Master Cabin has a 5 gallon water dispenser (with hot and cold water) and a mini fridge.

There is a porta potty on the property which is cleaned after every stay.

There is a fire pit with 8 plastic Adirondack chairs, and a picnic table.

There is a Blackstone stainless steel flat-top (griddle) propane grill. This allows you to cook anything you want, not just burgers and steaks.

The property is on just over 2 acres with plenty of space to kick a soccer ball or play catch, and there is 600+ feet of creek front to explore, wade in, swim in (there is a 5-6 foot swimming hole), and fish for trout in (Abrams Creek is known for trout fishing).

There are two hunting cameras for property security. The two cameras take still shots and do not record audio.

Guests have access to both Cabins and the entire 2 acre property area including 600+ft of creek.

Please note that our campsite is quasi-off-grid. Yes, we have electricity, heat, a water dispenser, and mini fridge...but cell phone signals are poor and we have no WiFi. Texting can work but sometimes can take longer than normal for the text to go out or come in. We download a map of the area onto our phones so that we can navigate using GPS.

Relax on the Greenbrier River with the whole family at this peaceful riverfront bungalow. Steps from the Greenbrier River, you'll have 200 feet of river frontage with a nice level rock beach to put your feet in the river and enjoy all the Greenbrier has to offer. Put in a kayak and float downstream and enjoy bass fishing, or fish directly from the shore or walk upstream 100 feet to a nice pool of still water to fish or swim! 24 miles to the state of WV fairgrounds and 34 miles to the Greenbrier!
