My little cabin is at the end of the resort (Black Bear), and is quiet and private, backing up to a horsefarm. It has the best view of all the resort across the Canaan Valley, Timberline Four Seasons Resort,White Grass, and on to the Dolly Sods. Close to skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, antiquing, and live music!

All new appliances. It was not a smart tv as advertised and, probably due to the storm, the satellite signal was in and out. Oh well, didn't come to watch tv. Blackwater Falls was amazing covered in snow and ice. Stumptown Ales has some of the best beer I've had. Really wish I could've brought some home. Most definitely a great trip and place to stay. "

Our home is the perfect place for couples, families and even a couple of families (sleeps 6!). With an outside deck, grill and view, it’s a perfect for grillin’ and chillin’.

On colder nights, especially in the winter time, the cozy living room is a perfect place to have a fire and watch a flick on the flat screen. (Don’t worry about having to truck in firewood in the back of your car…we have an ample supply ready and waiting for you!)

Kids (and maybe even the adults) will enjoy the loft with 2 bunk beds - a perfect place for a slumber party. Equipped with TV, VCR and video games, they may just never come down!

In nearby Elkins, ride the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad excursion train.

Spring: February through June heralds the best fly fishing in the Potomac Highlands. Late spring is our favorite time for bird and wildlife watching and photography.

Summer: In Canaan Valley, cool mountain temperatures make Canaan Valley and the surrounding area the perfect summer retreat. Hikers and mountain bikers gravitate to the west banks of the Blackwater River for the 10+ mile stint between Thomas and Hendricks and the sensational views of Blackwater Canyon.

Fall: The mountains (and valley) blaze in mid-to-late September. Beech, oak, cherry, maple and aspen take on hues of reds, golds, oranges and browns, accented by the dark-green background of evergreens.

Winter: Winter brings another world of its own where the Canaan Valley turns into a Winter Wonderland with great skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and sledding/tubing from a choice of over 76 slopes and trails, seven lifts, a terrain and tubing park at two of the best West Virginia ski resorts: Canaan Valley Resort State Park and Timberline Four Seasons Resort.

Extensively remodeled Brookside Chalet in 2023 is the ultimate ski location with a short walk in your boots to the ski lifts. A great vacation location year round with winter sports as well as beautiful ,cool, summer days for golfing, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, white water rafting, and so much more. The Majestic cabin, one of eight cabins at the Golden Anchor Cabins is designed specifically for a romantic getaway for two.

The Majestic is a couples-only luxury honeymoon cabin located at the very top of our property and offers THE BEST view we have to offer. This cabin, referred to as 'The Queen', features an outdoor hot tub on a private deck with a privacy fence. There is a cozy gas log fireplace and all the lights are on dimmers to help set the mood for romantic time together. The bathroom features a custom tile shower for two. Step onto the heated tile floor and grab a fluffy warm towel from the towel warmer. A selection of romantic CD's is available for your enjoyment. Other amenities include a flat screen TV, washer & dryer, mood lighting, robes, and luxurious bed linens. This cabin has it's own free wi-fi so you can keep in touch with your loved ones.

Our cabins are a short drive from cities such as Pittsburgh, PA, Columbus OH, Baltimore MD, Morgantown WV, Winchester VA and Washington DC taking you through year-round scenic wilderness.

All of our cabins have central air, WiFi, a full kitchen and a charcoal grill. We strive to provide elegant, upscale cabin accommodations for all of our guests. Therefore, smoking and pets are not permitted.
