Ascension Cabin is a log home on 1 acre of land overlooking a small stream with wooded views five minutes from Summersville Lake, with New River Gorge a short drive down the highway. The cabin has a traditional feel with a comfy gas burning fireplace, plus modern amenities like high-speed internet and smart TVs. Outside is an elevated deck with grill and outdoor dining, plus a new hot tub, lounge chairs and your choice of a wood-burning fire pit or gas fire table.
Ascension is a single level cabin with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. Our kitchen is fully supplied for your cooking, baking or grilling needs. Our coffee bar has several options for your morning brew, and there’s a great coffee shop 5 minutes from the cabin. Relax on the swing on the front porch or enjoy our outdoor amenities on our rear deck and large backyard. We have foosball, Pac-man and streaming TV for indoor entertainment. The cabin has a gas-powered whole-home generator as a backup in case of power outages.
We welcome well-behaved dogs (non-aggressive breeds) at the house. We do ask that dogs stay off beds and furniture (we provide a doggy bed) and that guests properly dispose of pet waste. Dogs must be under direct supervision of owners, and not left alone at the house uncrated. We provide bowls for food and water, but guests must bring dog food.
The cabin has Starlink internet, with the "best effort" plan. Speeds can be very high late at night and very good during the day, but you may notice slower speeds during peak evening hours.
Please note there are two outside motion-activated Ring security cameras, one on the east side of the cabin facing the driveway, the other on the west side facing the road.

16 acre retreat located near Summersville Lake and short drive to Fayetteville and the New River Gorge. Property has many unique features such 1.5 acre pond and a butterfly meadow perfect to wander the afternoon away. Recently renovated to open the house up to have more open space and enjoy the new windows. Newly renovated bathrooms include a large soaking tub. Linens, towels, and other essentials provided for your stay.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Fun little one bedroom, one bathroom cabin just minutes away from Summersville Lake. This cabin has a large covered back porch for quiet evenings listening to the birds. A spacious yard boasts a nice fire pit and charcoal grill. Inside you have a full kitchen setup, with a 4 burner electric stove and full size refrigerator. The L-shaped couch pulls out into a bed, perfect for kids or a couple. 15 minutes from the New River Gorge Bridge.

Located near Summersville Lake, the Gauley River, Summersville Sate Park, New River Gorge National Park and Preserve and Fayetteville, my house sits on 16 acres to relax and get away from it all. My goal is to make the house comfortable but still have all you need to feel at home and hang out with your friends and family. I have owned this place for 17 years and have been wanting to share this place with others to experience this great place.
The space
Guests are able to use the entire main floor of the house. The basement/lower level is separate locked area that is used for storage and mechanicals only. Be sure to explore the 16 acres of woods, meadows, and the pond. Please refrain from climbing on the rocks and swimming in the pond. Fishing is permitted. However, water quality is usually better in the spring and fall.

Please explore the 16 acres by hiking to the butterfly meadow, quarry, and the pond. Feel free to fish at the pond. My neighbors have permission to use this area as well.
Other things to note
Since the house is situated between Fayetteville and Summersville it best to do grocery shopping when passing though. Dollar General is right around the corner from the house but selection is limited.
Fireplace in the pictures is not currently functional and cannot be used.

The space
Important to Know Before You Book:
In the winter months, this area receives heavy snowfall. The road leading to the cabin is gravel and privately maintained—which means it’s not plowed. A 4WD vehicle is required to drive directly to the cabin. Alternatively, guests can park and walk approximately 1/4 mile. Please monitor the weather and plan accordingly.
The Space:
This cozy tiny cabin—built by my 6'2" husband—is thoughtfully designed, but note that some rooms have lower ceilings due to the tiny house layout. He’s quite comfortable here, and we think you will be too!
Located just one minute off Route 19 on a quiet gravel road, the property features a pull-through driveway perfect for trailers or boats. The fenced-in yard includes two comfy camp chairs, a fire pit (firewood not provided, but we can recommend local spots to purchase kiln-dried wood), and a hot tub—ideal for relaxing after a day of hiking, boating, or skiing.
Hot Tub Note:
We do not employ a pool/spa service and we do not charge guests extra fees. Our cleaner checks the water level and chemicals between stays, but guests are strongly encouraged to test before using. Instructions and test strips are provided.
Kitchen & Amenities:
The kitchen includes a full-size fridge/freezer, 2-burner stovetop, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and charcoal grill (please move to gravel before using). Note: the oven is not available for guest use.
You'll also find WiFi and a TV in the main living area for cozy nights in.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the main floor of the cabin and the loft space above the kitchen, which includes a second queen-size bed. Please note: this loft has low ceilings and is accessed by a vertical metal ladder. Only guests who are physically able and comfortable climbing the ladder should use this space.
The loft above the bathroom is off-limits for safety reasons, and the ladder to that area is securely locked. Please do not attempt to access it.
All areas available to guests are clearly shown in the listing photos. Be sure to review them and consider your personal comfort and abilities before booking.
Other things to note
• 4WD Required in Winter: In snowy months, the road to the cabin is not plowed. A 4WD vehicle is required to drive directly to the cabin. Otherwise, you may need to park and walk 1/4 mile.
• Tiny House Layout: Some areas have low ceilings—please review photos and know your comfort level before booking.
• Loft Access: One loft (with a bed) is guest-accessible via a vertical ladder. Guests must be physically able to climb it. The other loft is off-limits.
• No Firewood Provided: We don’t supply firewood for the fire pit, but we’re happy to recommend nearby places to buy kiln-dried wood.
• No Oven Use: There is an oven on-site, but it’s not available for guest use.
• Hot Tub Use: Guests are encouraged to check water levels and chemical balance before using. Supplies and instructions are provided.
• Pet Policy: One dog is welcome with a pet fee. Please message us in advance if you're bringing a pup.

Easily walk to the lake from the cabin, just 0.75miles one way on private roads. Located a few minutes from Summersville Lake Marina and dam and 20 minutes from Fayetteville. Visit the New River Gorge Bridge or go whitewater rafting, ziplining, horse back riding and all the other adventures the area has to offer.

Quiet cabin in the woods just minutes from Summersville Lake and West Virginia’s newest state park. Relax and enjoy a morning cup of coffee on the screened-in porch or relax around the fire pit at night. Rent a boat, go kayaking, fishing, diving or rock climbing/repelling! Whitewater raft down the New and Gauley Rivers. Hike the many miles of beautiful trails. The Lodge is a 20 minute drive from Fayetteville and the newest National Park, The New River Gorge Bridge, as well as the Gauley River Recreation Area or Adventures on the Gorge. Also, located just 5 minutes from Summersville Lake State Park. Visit in September for Gauley season and Gauley Fest or visit in October for Bridge Day. Winterplace Ski resort is located approximately one hour away. Your outdoor adventures are plentiful!

Other things to note
Summerville Lake Retreat is very close to cabin. There you can rent kayaks, Stand-up Paddle boards, and Pontoon boats but will have to transport everything yourself to the lake. They also have firewood for sale, and a really nice gift shop.
Another place to rent these is at Summersville Lake Marina where you have direct access to the water.
Fair warning about lake, OBEY the no wake zones. They watch very very closely and WILL ticket you. We have been on the receiving end of 2 of them (they are not cheap) and not knowing where the begin and end is not an excuse to them.
Jumping off the rocks is also ticketed if the rocks are over 6 ft tall. I have witnessed many of these given out. Also, please keep our lake clean. Please Don't throw trash into the water.
Obey all speed limits in Summerville. They have given tickets for just 5 miles over speed limit.
Just down the street is the Summerville Dam. Great views!! There is also access to Gauley river, BattleRun State park, where there is a beach to swim at for a small price and also a playground with picnic tables in that area as well.
If you like to run/jog/walk I suggest Salmon Run. It is just down the street. Turn left where you would go for marina, and the take immediate left. It is a boat ramp and a great put in for paddle boards and kayaks.
If you go and park down by boat ramp there is a hill you can walk/jog up, and then going back to entrance and back to where you parked, it equals about 3 miles.

The cabin sits on top of a grassy hill overlooking fields, forest and distant mountains. We are continually adding to it and are excited to see it evolve. The space
The great room in the cabin is large, with high, vaulted ceilings and big windows that let lots of light in. On one end it has a functioning wood stove surrounded by large comfortable couches and chairs and on the other is a large dining table that seats large groups and over looks mountain views and stunning sunsets.
Just off the main room is an expansive, fully equipped kitchen with an electric induction cooktop, oven, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher and coffee grinder/brewer.
The bathroom features tiled floors and tiled shower stall with rain shower and wand.
The private bedroom off the kitchen has a queen sized bed and a picture window to look out while you lay in bed during a lazy morning at the cabin.
Up the spiral staircase is a loft that overlooks the great room. The loft contains two twin beds that are set back for privacy and a cozy lounge area.
For larger parties, there is a queen air mattress that can be used upstairs in the loft or downstairs in the great room.

Ascension Cabin is a log home on 1 acre of land overlooking a small stream with wooded views five minutes from Summersville Lake, with New River Gorge a short drive down the highway. The cabin has a traditional feel with a comfy gas burning fireplace, plus modern amenities like high-speed internet and smart TVs. Outside is an elevated deck with grill and outdoor dining, plus a new hot tub, lounge chairs and your choice of a wood-burning fire pit or gas fire table.
The space
Ascension is a single level cabin with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. Our kitchen is fully supplied for your cooking, baking or grilling needs. Our coffee bar has several options for your morning brew, and there’s a great coffee shop 5 minutes from the cabin. Relax on the swing on the front porch or enjoy our outdoor amenities on our rear deck and large backyard. We have foosball, Pac-man and streaming TV for indoor entertainment. The cabin has a gas-powered whole-home generator as a backup in case of power outages.

We welcome well-behaved dogs at the house. We do ask that dogs stay off beds and furniture (we provide a doggy bed) and that guests properly dispose of pet waste. Dogs must be under direct supervision of owners, and not left alone at the house uncrated. We provide bowls for food and water, but guests must bring dog food.
The cabin has Starlink internet, with the "best effort" plan. Speeds can be very high late at night and very good during the day, but you may notice slower speeds during peak evening hours.
Privately nestled in the trees, you will feel like you have nature all to yourself in this chalet-style cabin. Made from locally milled Appalachian Hemlock you will get a true taste of West Virginia when staying with us.
