Some other things to note about Panther Creek Cabin:

- Stairs to bedroom (loft area) are steep and narrow. Panther Creek Cabin has one queen size bed and is best suited for couples. Maximum occupancy is 2.

- Check-in is at 3 pm, and check-out is at 10 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available, please ask! However, an unauthorized late checkout may cost you $25 per 30 min tardiness to vacate as it impacts the schedule of our cleaning person. Please be considerate!

- Cameras are installed outside the cabin facing the driveway.

- There is no cell service at the cabin. Guests must be able to connect to the internet at the cabin and use wi-fi calling to text and make phone calls.

- Pets are not allowed.

-There is no trash service in this area. We ask that you please place your trash in the outside receptacle and close the lid tightly or you will encounter undesired wildlife!

- A signed rental agreement is required as well as a separate security deposit for this property. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions!

- Fishing is welcome, but Virginia requires a Virginia Freshwater Fishing License. Licenses can be purchased online at the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources website.

- Our cabin is cleaned and sanitized after every departure. The hot tub filter is cleaned and sanitized after every stay, and replaced regularly. There are rules for enjoying the hot tub that must be adhered to in accordance with the rental agreement that you are required to sign. Read and understand the rules prior to arrival. You acknowledge the rules and cancellation policy when you sign the rental agreement. There will be a charge for unscheduled hot tub drain/refill. There will be a charge for misuse of the hot tub and/or cover. A copy of the rental agreement can be provided prior to booking upon request.

- We provide a small amount of free firewood and other items needed to get a fire started in the outdoor fire pit. More wood is available for purchase upon request. Ask host for details.

- PLEASE NOTE for November - March bookings: During these winter months, a four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle is recommended in case of implement weather. Trip insurance is offered at booking and is recommended.

LIVING AREA + KITCHEN:
The open living space invites you to unwind — sink into the oversized chair, curl up on the sofa, or share a movie on the 65" Roku TV. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for your favorite meals, with essentials like coffee, creamers, oil, and spices provided along with pots and pans, dishware, crock pot, dual Keurig coffee maker (Drip and K-cups), toaster and utensils. Dine together at the table for four or linger at the breakfast bar with your morning cup.

BATHROOM + SAUNA:
Unwind in the warmth of your indoor sauna, tucked away in the privacy of the full bathroom. It’s the perfect way to restore after a day of hiking, exploring, or simply doing nothing at all.

DECK + LOFT:
Step out onto the wraparound covered deck to greet the day from the rocking chairs out front or sip something special as the sun sets over the trees.
Upstairs, the loft is its own little sanctuary — a reading nook with a record player, soft light, and a cozy spot to write, think, or simply be. A small office with a desk offers space for reflection or remote work (fast Starlink internet keeps you connected, if you choose to be).

OUTDOORS:
At night, gather around the fire pit beneath a sky full of stars. Grill dinner on the charcoal BBQ or enjoy a picnic in the fresh mountain air (BYO charcoal and firewood).

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
AWD/4WD required for the steep gravel drive (most 2WD cars won’t make it). Parking is available at the bottom if needed — it’s a bit of a walk up with luggage and not highly recommended although doable.

The cabin has central heat and A/C. Upstairs can get warm on hot days or cool during evenings but fans will circulate the air and there are space heaters if it gets chilly upstairs.

The cabin is made up with towels, bed linens, soaps, starter K-cups of coffee, basic spices, and paper goods — just bring your essentials and settle in. Bring along some firewood and charcoal if you wish to use those amenities.

NEARBY:

You’re 15–20 minutes from New River State Park and about 25-40 minutes from the charming small towns of Galax, Hillsville, and Wytheville — perfect for a day trip or antique hunt before returning to your mountain hideaway.

OUTDOOR CAMERA: There is an outdoor camera facing the outside staircase/entrance. It is on 24/7 and can record video and sound.

Elevated eclectic yurt with wrap-around porch and mountain view; nearby Blue Ridge Parkway and only 5 miles away from Fancy Gap, VA. Enjoy the stillness of a get-away with the convenience of easy access to amenities. The space
The Bee Hive is elevated on the mountain between 2 neighboring yurts. Yurts can be rented individually or in groups. They are separated enough for privacy if desired and close enough to walk between to visit with neighbors if booked in groups. Bee Hive boasts a spacious wrap around porch with a gorgeous view, a fully equipped kitchen for vacation meals, a huge soaking bath tub, a large loft, gas fireplace, and entertainment. The porch is enclosed to be dog and kid-friendly, and the driveway is accessible for sedans, SUVs, and motorcycles. The Bee Hive is great space to check in and stay put to unwind OR to rest your head in between outdoor adventures and small town exploring.

The Bee Hive is off the beaten path while also being very close to small mountain local antique shops, a Dollar General (4.7 mi), and Walmart (11 mi) for light groceries or forgotten travel items.

This space is “glamping” at its best; you pack your clothes and food and we provide the rest!

The location itself is nice, however getting to the yurt can be interesting depending on what you're driving, and from which direction you take getting there. Most main roads getting there are paved (but narrow). Carrollview is a dirt/light gravel road. The driveway getting to the yurt is new enough that the gravel is somewhat loose on entry, and Carrollview gets quite steep there, so lots of spinout divots to navigate. We were driving a medium size 4WD SUV and pulling a small open motorcycle trailer. If we hugged the hill, it left room for access to the third yurt. If the tenants of the first yurt weren't parked properly, it completely blocked access to the middle yurt (The Bee Hive). Recommend meeting your neighbors and make sure they know where to park :) There's not a ton of room to turn a vehicle around, so plan ahead, especially when towing. We loved the deck(s)! One wraps around the yurt, the other is under the main deck and creates a nice semi-covered area to get our of the sun or rain. Falling rain creates a nice sound on the yurt. Located between I-77 and Hwy 52 this quaint cabin is the ideal location. Explore the Blue Ridge parkway, Hillsville (famous for the Flea Market), Galax and Mt Airy for unique finds, wineries, fishing, hiking and leisurely activities. Come experience the tranquility and fall in love with the beauty of Fancy Gap, Va.

This quaint cabin (The Bear Den) is situated only feet from the east fork of Little Reed Island creek. Sit on the porch and relax listening to the harmonious melody of the water cascading over the beautiful outcropped rocks, or open the windows and let the tranquil water sounds lull you to sleep. The layout is simple and decorated to establish a sense of bygone charm and relaxation.

Feel free to hike the gravel road, roam the nearby woods, or hop in the creek. We do live on the property and you may see us working around the land. We would like to kindly ask our guests not to enter the buildings or barns on the property .

We are constantly working hard to improve the property to better serve our guests. We are close to beginning our second cabin and are still in the process of driveway and parking improvements, so please pardon our "dust"
