The owners were great to work with as they responded in a timely fashion. The coffee bar was amazing with many options of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate with the toppings. There was firewood for the firepit and the little waterfall on the koi pond sound like a babbling brook. It was very relaxing and peaceful. We would definitely stay again!"

A super nice cozy log cabin located only 6 miles from Mount Airy and the Andy Griffith Museum. It is sitting on a little farm. Miniature donkeys and goats are on surrounding property. We always provide candy, orange juice, milk, breakfast bread or muffins. We are pet friendly.

- "Beautiful Home" - "Absolutely wonderful!! From the minute we turned onto the drive, we knew that this property wasn't going to disappoint! Traveling with teens can always be iffy, but between the disc golf course (my teen boys loved being able to play anytime they wanted), the pool, the game room loaded with fun games for all ages and the beautiful river that runs behind the property to explore, the teens had plenty to occupy them and keep them all happy!! The entire time we stayed at Riverside Memories there was not a single moody teen! Which, of course, made for happy adults! The kitchen had everything you could ever need and more! The bonus pay it forward pantry came in handy on multiple occasions. The entire property had plenty of extra linens, pool towels and bathroom necessities. The laundry room made it easy to stay on top of keeping them tidy. All the beds were super comfortable. My husband and I had the best sleep we have had in a while and we totally tried to figure out what type a mattress it was so we could get a new one just like it when we got home. :) When I say you can just show up to Riverside Memories with just the suitcase of clothes - I mean it. They thought of everything!! We will definitely stay here again if we ever find ourselves back in that area. Thank you for opening up this property and for the amazing memories we will cherish forever! Oh and our sweet doggie had the best of times too!!"

- "We loved our stay at the Beary Cottage! The house was incredibly spacious, well equipped, and in the perfect location for a mountain getaway. During our stay, we were able to visit Mt. Airy and a local winery, all within a 30 min drive. There are also trails near the house that are great for hiking and trail running if you are okay with hills! The views were beautiful, as was the house, and we would definitely recommend at stay there to anyone going with a large group! The long dining room table and large couch in the main living room made for a great setup to spend quality time with everyone in our group. The rooms and spaces were even better than the pictures. We were overall very happy with our stay!"

The hosts were amazing, surprising us with sparkling juice and a charcutier tray in the fridge to help us enjoy our anniversary weekend. - "We stayed here for our wedding party for the weekend and their was 21 of us and all had enough space. Cabin is beauftiful" - "The area was very nice, loved how the drive to the house was so easily accessible" - "The cabin was absolutely beautiful! Plenty of space and peaceful location. We had everything we needed for lots of cooking, laughs and relaxing. We contacted management for a couple of minor issues and they were addressed immediately. We went to Mt Airy for the afternoon and loved strolling around town. Be sure to take advantage of the DG before the last leg into the property. It’s not that far if you need something, but a little out of the way to just run out to pick up something. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends and family."

Our fun log cabin is the perfect place to escape it all and get away. We are experienced hosts, just new to Vrbo. The loft sleeps 2 in a queen bed. The full bath has a walk-in shower and the living room has a gas fireplace & TV. The kitchen lets you fix your meals. You'll have full access to the lake & pontoon paddle boat. Go fishing, boating, hiking on the property. We have a large fire pit for you to use and fishing gear & life jackets We are so close to State Parks, Pilot Mountain & Hanging Rock. Tour Mayberry at Mt. Airy and More.
The space
The loft sleeps 2 in a queen bed. There is a pull out sofa in the den. The full bath has a walk-in shower and the living room has a gas fireplace & TV. The kitchen lets you fix your meals. The back porch is screened in with fans and the front porch has a great view of the lake with large rockers and ceiling fans.
Guest access
You'll have access to the entire cabin, the back porch with gas fire table, the large fire pit, the lake and pontoon boat and hiking around the 10 acres of properties.
Other things to note
Our cabin is a 1940s built tobacco curing barn. It was dismantled in the 80s and moved and converted into a live-in cabin at its current site. It was a in-law suite for many years and we've recently remodeled it for a vacation home.

- "First off, the view of the sun coming up from the back deck and the big window of the upstairs main bedroom is amazing. This cabin is older and rustic. We had the best time in our short little stay. We were there for my son’s wedding and We had my family of 13 including 5 (7&under) and had my DIL’s family of 7 come over for a rehearsal dinner and there was plenty of room for everyone. The little boys loved seeing the cows and goats and the 2 year old would go out and call to them and they would call back and he thought that was the best thing. The host Tara was wonderful and answers anything you need in just a few minutes. Even brought us extra firewood at 9pm. I would recommend this place to any large family who would love the farm/rustic life. The cabin is wonderful and beds were good. I promise this is completely worth the experience And so wished we would have stayed longer and be able to go visit the farm and learn more about the goat milk products. You will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere with neighbors hidden by the woods. Only 9 miles to a grocery store in both Pilot Mountain and King. You will have the entire upper level including a open loft with plenty of games, books, and toys. Enjoy a beautiful sunset and take plenty of pictures. Extra guests are charged an additional fee.

Your host will be in and out of the basement apartment which has a separate entrance.
With 3 sleep number beds on the main level you will be sure to have a great nights sleep. Visit local wineries in the area. Take a picnic to Pilot Mountain State Park. Check out the many trails and waterfalls at Hanging Rock State Park. Visit Mount Airy where the Andy Griffith show was filmed. There are many day trip attractions whether you want to stay close or make it a day trip. Go to Winston-Salem to hear a live band Or visit a winery. From Zip lining to Dan River kayaking, there is plenty to do on this relaxing vacation. Don’t forget the sunsets...or the star gazing without the distraction of street lights!

- "The Good: Quiet and private. The drive up is beautiful. Everything is brand new. Hot tub perfect for 2 people. Indoor soaking tub is nice. 10-15 minute drive to Vineyards (Round Peak and Serre) and walking/biking trails (Fisher River Park) and grocery stores (in Dobson). The Bad: the directions to the residence are wrong (wrong address, wrong side of street). There was little information and pictures beforehand to know what to expect (coffee machine? What kind? Cooking utensils? Stove top? Etc). I didn’t receive any directions or wifi password or how to get into the community or residence until I emailed the owner on the day of our stay, and I didn’t get email back until after our check-in time. There were no napkins or paper towels in the residence. There is no dishwasher, and no directions about what to do with dirty dishes at checkout. The are no blinds or curtains on the large window in the bedroom, which would be fine because the place is so secluded, but there is a bright streetlamp right by the window, so it is very bright all night long. There was a regular coffee maker and a Keurig, but no coffee or tea. There are lots of fans and lights and some kind of plug-in mood rock device and some kind of plug-in rock sphere with water feature and other devices that have no explanation of what they do or how to use them. I never got the gas logs figured out. Also, there is still more landscaping to be done, but not a big deal. Overall, it can be a really special place to spend a weekend with a partner. It is a new place, so I expect some errors of omission at first. I would be happy to offer my thoughts to the owners, but they never asked for any feedback after our stay (we had to be one of the first couples to stay there, since their directions were incorrect and i had to unwrap some of the devices in the home to use them). I find this strange. Once they get some kinks figured out, I would have no complaints!"

Here are the issues we encountered: Misleading Location: The map pin shows the home as being in the heart of Mount Airy, but it’s actually a 30-minute drive away. Our two kids elected to stay in town instead. Non-functional Amenities: The hot tub and fireplace didn’t work during our stay, and no repairs were made. Missing Essentials: The house lacked basic items like luggage racks (or any place to put your stuff that does not hang from closet rods) and towel rods. The kitchen was well appointed though. Despite these issues, the home is well-built and spacious, ideal for a large family or group but I would not book this home again."
