Blinds were taped up, toilet paper holder downstairs bathroom was broken & lights didn't work, upstairs bathroom toilet seat was broken (with new seat ready for you to install), coffee pot was broken & dumped on my leg. Banister rail on upstairs main entrance is about to fall off & not secure (definitely a safety hazard). Clearly not the property we were promised. Home description shows 2 queen beds that are actually full size beds. We booked this home for 8 people for 2 nights. We were only given 1 washcloth, hand towel, and towel per person for the entire stay. They only had 1 trash bag in the entire house & then you have to haul off your trash when you leave. Upon check-in, property manager stated they only hand out keys & clean homes (obviously not being done but their going to charge you $85 for). Contacted Hotels.com for resolution. Definitely RENTER BEWARE when booking this property! I booked this home because it had an exceptional 10 review. Once we saw the condition of the home, my sister saw there was another bad review that was being hidden. I have photos."

If trail riding is more you speed there are miles of trail riding and hiking on the Emerald Mountain Outback trail loops that can be accessed right from our cabin.

During summer season, The Land of Oz is just a short hike right to the entrance. No money was spared on this level of comfort when it comes to sleeping. Absolutely the best mattresses on the mountain!!! One bedroom features a one-of-a-kind custom king size bunk bed! Winter Booking Requirement:
**This property is a true winter mountain resort "Experience". It's important to BE PREPARED and remember during ski season the road to this mile high delight can be treacherous and 4 WHEEL DRIVE IS REQUIRED TO RENT THIS PROPERTY. We always recommend having emergency chains if road conditions necessitate as it's much more pleasant to have them than to need them. With an ideal location on the slope, snowmaking by the resort is highly probable even if inclement weather is not forecasted and this access road may still be snow covered.

PLEASE have the proper vehicle, tires, and emergency chains for this location as there are no services available to get you to or from the cabin if requirements and recommendations are not heeded.

NOTE: If you choose to ignore our vehicle requirement and your 2 wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle is "stuck" at our property you will forfeit your deposit. PLEASE do not rent our home if you do not have an adequate 4WD vehicle with adequate snow tread tires for the winter ski season.

~Stairs are required to enter this property. We ask our guests to make sure this is something they are comfortable with prior to booking.
~The drive does have a slight incline as so many mountain properties do! It is what make us the mountains. It is paved, however, manageable by 99% of our guests regardless of the type of car they may drive. And... it is maintained in the winter by a wonderful local gentleman on call for us with his snow plow! He never lets us down and we feel super fortunate to have him look after our driveway on the many wintry days the high country produces!
~The property does have 1 security camera facing the driveway and mounted above the garage. This is for monitoring the property when it is unoccupied and for monitoring winter conditions of the drive. We turn it off when our guests arrive except to periodically check conditions of snow accumulation. There are no other cameras inside or out on our property.

The cabin had a well equipped kitchen, main living room with a fire place, nice beds and baths. We would book this property again. A few maintenance items the owner might want to address, the area rug in the living room is curled up along the edge which is a tripping hazard ,Ask me how ii know, there is a closet door broken up stairs ,the air hockey table has a broken power cord which is a fire hazard so we unplugged it."

- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided.
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax per night.
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am​​​​​​​.
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.

Built in 2020, Yes, Deer has two bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. The master bedroom has a cozy king bed and the second bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed with a pull out twin trundle. The fully stocked kitchen is a dream and ready to meet your needs, whether that’s cooking in or simply using the Keurig for your morning coffee. There are also two porches, one with a hot tub, for you to enjoy!

With two spacious porches to enjoy, you can spend your time on the front porch enjoying seasonal views of the mountain range, or out back soaking in the 6 person hot tub. We have a gas grill and fire pit out back as well as outdoor furniture for lounging or dining. Located on a heavily wooded lot, Yes, Deer offers the perfect secluded setting for enjoying the peace and quiet of the outdoors.

We want you to feel right at home when you vacation with us. We offer 5G fiber internet, cable, a smart TV for streaming from your favorite apps, a dedicated work space, and so much more. LOCATION
Less than 2 miles to the slopes, Yes, Deer is nestled in the perfect location to enjoy all Beech Mountain has to offer. Local Beech Mountain restaurants and shops are all just a short drive away. It’s also just less than 7 miles to Banner Elk which offers an array of fantastic restaurants, a park, winery, brewery, and an awesome Alpaca farm (a family favorite!). But we understand if you never want to leave the house once you arrive. Grab a throw blanket and snuggle up by the fire or explore the vast woods and creek right outside the door if that is more your speed. We have plenty of board games and puzzles for guests to enjoy so please help yourself!

WEATHER
Ideal circumstances would be snow on the slopes and not on the roads, but please be prepared for snowy conditions. The Town of Beech Mountain does a wonderful job keeping the roads clear, but sometimes it can take time. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds due to weather conditions. Since snow is part of the fun, we hope you take precautionary measures to ensure your safety when traveling.

Guests will have access to the entire home and property, except owner’s closet in the upstairs bedroom.

Security cameras on property- Cameras monitor the parking area, front porch, rear porch and one facing Grandfather Mountain- exterior only and not in use during rentals

Pets- Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Maximum 75 lbs each. Any damage (other than normal wear and tear) caused by a pet will fall under the standard “damaged item” category as discussed below. We reserve the right to refuse certain sizes or breeds.

Where you’ll be:
The cabin is located conveniently between Boone and Banner Elk in the Foscoe/ Seven Devils Community. Some of the nearby towns include Valle Crucis, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, Blowing Rock and Linville.

The cabin’s central location is just minutes from dining, wine tasting, breweries, shopping, hiking, cold weather activities and warm weather activities. There are a number of hiking trails on and off the Blue Ridge Parkway to explore. Known as “America’s Favorite Drive,” this scenic route offers countless overlooks, hiking spots and cascading waterfalls. During the winter months, enjoy skiing or snowboarding at nearby Sugar Mountain Resort, Beech Mountain or Appalachian Ski Mtn. Go snow tubing with the family at Hawksnest, only 12 minutes away. During warmer weather, enjoy river tubing, putt putt, golf, fly fishing, white water rafting, zip-lining or mountain biking. Getting around:
Like most mountain homes, our driveway is steep, be cautious and all will be fine. The driveway is a sharp turn to the right and has a steep incline. Two vehicles fit at the top of the drive with an additional parking spot halfway up the drive.

Winter Road Conditions- Weather conditions in the mountains can be unpredictable. Sometimes rain, fog, snow, sleet, or ice create unexpected and hazardous driving conditions - especially during the colder months of November - April. Since road conditions may become hazardous during your stay, an All-wheel drive, 4-wheel drive vehicle and/or chains and the ability to drive on snow and ice are strongly recommended to get to and from the property and surrounding areas. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ARRIVE FULLY PREPARED and there will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
The cabin’s driveway will be salted/ cleared at Owner’s discretion. Even when the roads have been cleared, guests with 2-wheel drive vehicles often have trouble with the steep hills.

- "We had a wonderful time and the cabin is absolutely beautiful. Very nice layout with the interior and exterior. We thoroughly enjoyed the grill, nice landscape with outdoor fireplace, hot tub with views, and the interior was very comfortable along with clean. They have a nice book made about the cabin and things to do within the adjacent area. Only negative thing we experienced was having to haul our trash off. The closest trash sites were closed on Sunday and the one in Boone was open 1-5 but checkout is 11. We fortunately had a truck bed for the trash but our luggage was back there too. Overall I would highly recommend this property and would most definitely stay again!!!"

- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement. Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking, or by calling us with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.

CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Easy access to both Sugar, Grandfather, and Beech Mountains. Awesome points- Fireplace was easy to work and with our FL family, my kids wanted it on nearly every moment we were in the house. The porch was great with gorgeous views. The kitchen had nearly everything we needed and it was very clean and easy to use. The linens were really comfy and so were the beds. The door lock was easy to operate. The loft was adorable. Ceiling height was a bit of a challenge for my 6'2" teenager but short folks would not have an issue. Haha. Points to note if you book- the entrance to the street is basically a secret passage through the woods. Nearly hidden in the dark when we arrived. When the lights are out, the cabin is difficult to locate so if you can arrive while the sun is up, do so. We found it after a few minutes and my minivan didnt have an issue getting up the driveway. Had it been snowy that might have different. There wasnt a cookie sheet in the cabin so making quick frozen things like chicken nuggets for the kids took creativity but that could be easily remedied. There is not a lot of insulation between the loft and the downstairs bedroom so privacy between the two bedrooms should not be expected. Its not a problem, just something to note. All these things are minor and we would definitely rent this cabin again and recommend it for others!"

We would book this house again!" - "The property was nice for a ski weekend. Simple accommodations but very clean and well kept. Our group had 3 couples in their 40s with two teenage boys, over a 3 day weekend. Property was well stocked and had all the basics needed. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. The boys shared a room with double bunk beds. They also had a bathroom. Lots of room. Could have slept 2-4 more children comfortably. Lots of space. Parking more than 2 vehicles is an issue if you have multiple families meeting there. There is really only room for 2 vehicles to park, which is fine if everyone is arriving together."

Both the indoor fireplace and the outdoor fire table were fantastic additions, keeping us warm and cozy throughout our stay. The neighborhood was friendly and quiet, with the added bonus of a visit from some curious deer! Everything about our stay felt so welcoming. Little touches like a designated mat for our dog's food and helpful notes around the property made it feel less like a rental and more like staying at a friend's place. It's the perfect getaway for two couples, offering incredible value for the price (while the space accommodates four comfortably, trying to add more would be cramped). Melanie also provided some excellent recommendations for food and groceries, which came in super handy. Overall, this trip exceeded all expectations, and I couldn't recommend it more highly!"

Our 3 bedroom (+ loft bedroom), 2.5 bath picture-perfect mountain cabin on Beech Mountain offers everything you and your family needs to have a fun getaway. The inviting, open-floor plan features a fully equipped kitchen, large dining room table, and cozy family room with gas-log fireplace. Our home offers 3 private bedrooms + additional sleeping space in the loft. Plenty of space to hang out in the open concept family room and dinning room with the kitchen directly attached, or if you prefer being outdoors enjoy the large patio with plenty of seating and hot tub.

Bedroom #1 features an ensuite with a queen size bed. Bedroom #2 has a queen size bed, smart TV and sliding glass doors to back deck. Loft space has a queen size bed with bathroom. Downstairs bedroom has twin bunk beds.

The staircase to the loft is a bit steep but has a safety rail. Spiral staircase leads to lower level - there is also an exterior downstairs entry if you prefer to enter that way.

We ask that all hot tub rules are followed to ensure the hot tub stays up and running year-round, $150 fee if rules are not followed and the hot tub needs draining or additional maintenance. - The King suite on the upper level is mostly enclosed from the loft but the wall between the bedroom and the loft does not extend all the way to the ceiling, so it is not soundproofed.

- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement. Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking, or by calling us with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.

CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

The space
This cabin is recently constructed and finished November 2016. This a spacious 600 sq foot 1 bedroom cabin. Beautifully decorated with primitive decor. It is easy accessible and not far from area activities and shopping. It has a gas log stove. It’s beautifully maintained and comfortable for 3 people. there is 1 king bed and 1 pulloit twin chair. Gorgeous tile shower with a primitive water can for a shower head. Fully stocked kitchen. One 55” smart TV in living room and one 32” smart TV in the bedroom. We provide sheets, towels (2), wash cloths (2), hand towels (2), and a starter kit of soap, dish detergent, wash detergent, paper products, trash bags. There is also a fire pit and charcoal grill located to the left of the cabin.****AS OF APRIL 2021 WE WILL NO LONGER HAVE HOT TUBS. Welcome to Bear Lodge! Nestled in Mill Ridge, Banner Elk, this charming 2-bedroom, 2-bath cabin is a cozy retreat for a getaway with friends and family. Relax by the fireplace, sip coffee on the private deck while listening to the calmness of the Watauga river, or explore nearby trails and ski resorts. Just minutes from shops and dining, Bear Lodge offers the perfect mix of tranquility and adventure. Your mountain escape awaits!

The space
Bear Lodge comfortably accommodates six guests. For additional guests, an extra daily charge will apply, and prior contact is required.

The cabin features two floors, each with outdoor access, as there is no internal connection between them. The upper floor includes a queen bed, while the lower floor offers a full-over-full bunk bed, all equipped with memory foam mattresses for a restful sleep. Additionally, the lower floor features a sofa that converts to a queen trundle bed.

The upper floor features a fully equipped kitchen suitable for preparing home-cooked meals, while the lower floor offers a mini fridge. Both levels are equipped with a coffee bar for added convenience.

Both floors feature electric fireplaces in the living rooms, which can provide the cozy ambiance of a lit fireplace without the heat. Each room is equipped with floor heaters for added comfort. Additionally, both floors include remote-controlled mini-split systems for during warmer months, though some guests may find these unnecessary. All rooms are furnished with Smart TVs to stream your favorite subscriptions (cable TV is provided).

Both floors feature outdoor seating areas that provide ample space for entertaining. Amenities include a propane fire pit, a picnic table with bench seating, a BBQ grill, and a propane tower heater.

Access to the cabin includes a small hill leading to the front entrance, with a gravel driveway that is slightly steep but manageable with two- or four drive for most of the year. During winter, local roads are plowed and salted by the neighborhood association. 4WD or AWD vehicles are recommended during December through March, although they are not strictly necessary. Chains may be helpful during periods of heavy snow.

During the warmer months, guests can take advantage of the neighborhood’s community pool, a swing set for the kids, as well as tennis and pickleball courts and a basketball hoop for some outdoor fun. Additionally, the neighborhood features several hiking trails that are perfect for year-round exploration and adventure. Mill Ridge is known for its scenic surroundings and access to outdoor recreation, including trails that wind through the wooded areas and along the Watauga River.

For venturing beyond the cabin, downtown Banner Elk and Valle Crucis are just minutes away, offering excellent shopping and dining options. Beech and Sugar Ski Resorts, ideal for skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing, are only 20 minutes away. Grandfather Mountain, Boone, and Blowing Rock are a quick 30-minute drive, as is the breathtaking Blue Ridge Parkway. World-class hiking trails abound nearby, with recommendations available in the guestbook. The Virginia Creeper Trail is also within an hour's drive. Whatever your plans, Bear Lodge offers a convenient and comfortable retreat while providing a true escape and a welcoming home away from home.

Two Rock Treehouse is an all season MTN COTTAGE and just as the name implies, it is nestled between two huge beautiful boulders that are as old as the Appalachian Mountains. Surrounded by four resorts, you can enjoy Skiing, Snowboarding, Tubing, Zip-lining. Return from your winter adventures and cozy up to the Gas Fireplace.

The space
Surrounded by four resorts, you can enjoy Skiing, Snowboarding, Tubing, and Ice Skating in the winter. You can also enjoy exhilarating zip-lining, hiking trails, waterfalls, whitewater rafting, golfing, cave exploring, rock climbing, kayaking, swimming, fishing and the many other activities mountain life has to offer. Nearby attractions include Grandfather Mountain Park/Zoo, Pisgah National Forest, and the world famous Blue Ridge Parkway.

Very well equipped with all your needs, this two bedroom cabin will sleep five in beds and up to six with sofa bed. A pack and play, and a portable high chair is provided. From the open deck you can enjoy the wonderful mountain scenery while preparing your favorite food on the grill. There are three bistro sets, and two Adirondacks.

This cabin is all on one level and also has a flat screen TV in every room with a DVD player in the living area and a play station in the Bunk Room. For your convenience there is a washer and dryer.

You will have access to the whole cabin. In the beginning of the small community you to the tennis courts, basketball court and swing set. The community pool will be open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

I will not be present during your stay, as I live in Florida. But I am a phone call/text/email away for any questions you might have.

Our cabin is located in the heart of Beech Mountain and has a loft and two master bathrooms which allows it to comfortably accommodate 8 guests or three families. The loft area is a great place for kids to sleep and hang out! So bring the whole family!

There is a gazebo outside where you can hang out and grill or enjoy the patio furniture with a propane fire table on the bottom floor patio. And if you're lucky, you'll get to say hi to the friendly deer that live nearby. ;)

Want to stay indoors? No worries! We have board games and corn hole for you to enjoy. Or feel free to start the floor-to-ceiling stone, propane fireplace, kick up your feet and unwind with a movie on the smart TV.
