The heat in the cabin was excellent, quiet and efficient and the shower was great. The cabin is far enough from town to give quiet and privacy but very convenient to West Jefferson for restaurants, shops, groceries, and gas The cabin is also very convenient to the Blue ridge Pkwy and State Parks. It’s in a quiet location that’s a short drive to West Jefferson. The cabin and yard are so well cared for. The kitchen is well stocked. Lorraine and Steve haven’t skimped on anything! My husband and I enjoyed our time there and would definitely go back! The jar of strawberry jam as a welcome gift was an added touch! We drove to the lot on the river and it’s a little tight with parking, but it’s absolutely beautiful! You won’t regret staying here! It was in a beautiful little neighborhood that felt very private but was less than a mile from Walmart, Wendy’s and other businesses. Linda thought of everything! There’s plenty of soap, toilet tissue, paper towels, towels, blankets, etc. She really does provide coffee, tea, bottled water, condiments, and snacks. The check out process can’t even really be called a process. I was thrilled and will definitely stay there again. You’d be crazy not to book this cabin."

The Buffalo Bungalow is a beautiful home in a country setting but with easy access to the charming downtown West Jefferson Arts District with all the amenities; yet it is nestled in the mountains in a tranquil setting with abundant wildlife. Sleep in the forest’s symphony. Watch the fireflies signal their joy and see once again that there is a Milky Way. Escape pollution noise, crowds, tension and stress in the soft caress of the Blue Ridge. Air conditioning has been added for additional comfort in the summer months.

This two bedroom, one bathroom house is surrounded on 3 sides with mountains. The house sleeps 5 (King, full, twin, and couch) with linens included and features a large custom kitchen with a full complement of cookware, silverware, and small appliances, a cast iron gas stove in the living room, and hardwood floor throughout, along with a full sized washer and dryer. Be connected if you wish, there is wireless internet, phone and TV, but you can unwind, unplug, and get a much needed break in the clean mountain air. Entertainment is provided by 36” TV with Cable TV and Netflix. A DVD library with a few kids DVDs are provided. A selection of board and card games along with a few books is available. There is a large deck with a beautiful mountain view, a charcoal grill, and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows or just chasing away the evening chill.

Enjoy this NC mountain private getaway in a relaxing country setting. You will see cows grazing in the nearby pasture, and depending on the time of year may enjoy watching the hummingbirds or get a glimpse of the wild turkeys or deer off the back deck. Located just 6 miles from the town of West Jefferson where many festivals are held and many artisans keep shop. The town is a mecca of art galleries and other interesting shops, offers a few restaurants, bars, an ice cream parlor, and a coffee shop. Mary’s Episcopal Church containing 3 of Ben Long’s frescoes is nearby. This is the only place in NC where cheese is made, and you can watch at the Ashe County Cheese factory downtown. The Ashe County Arts Council showcases local artists with rotating exhibits and special events. West Jefferson hosts a Christmas in July festival and has 15 murals that create a walking tour throughout downtown. There are free summer concerts on the backstreet, a weekly Saturday and Wednesday farmers’ market, monthly gallery crawls, one of the biggest arts & crafts festivals in the high country, an antique festival, little theater performances, and annual holiday events.

Mount Jefferson State Park is just 9 miles away from the house and has fabulous views and a hiking trail. The Virginia Creeper Bike Path is just 45 minutes away while it is just 20 minutes to the New River for rafting. If you choose to visit area attractions, historic Todd, Glendale Springs, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Tweetsie Railroad, Blowing Rock, Boone NC, Mount Rogers and Grayson Highlands State Park, Pond Mountain, and Elk Knob State Park are all within 30 to 60 minutes’ drive.

Very clean and feels more spacious that the actual square footage. Owners very responsive when I had some questions. Hope to stay there again and see more of the area." - "This is our second time staying at this garage apartment cabin. It’s consistently VERY clean and comfortable. It is perfect for our family of four. It’s very well appointed. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had a Keurig, which we use at home. The location feels remote but is convenient to downtown West Jefferson. My only concern is that a propane heater is used for heat in the living room, which has a strong odor. The heat for the bedrooms and bathroom is on a separate system and does not have the same gas odor. Overall, a great value in West Jefferson. I would stay here again and recommend it."

We are located 26 miles from Boone, NC, home of Appalachian State University and Appalachian Ski Mountain where you can enjoy winter activities such as skiing, snow boarding. 47 miles from Beech Mountain Ski Resort where depending on weather there is an ice skating ring, skiing, etc. Grandfather Mountain is about 46 miles from the cabin.

You are very close to the river in this neighborhood – in fact, you are close to everything but you’ll feel like you are a world apart, which is just what we come to the mountains for. The oversized front porch is the perfect place to read in the rocking chair or sit and relax on the porch swing. Everyone will enjoy an evening of S’mores around the outside fire pit! Inside, the cabin’s cozy architecture is expansive, featuring vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan. Less than 1/2 mile from the cabin is the South fork of the New River. Public access allows canoeing/kayaking/tubing/fishing and even swimming!

Less than 10 minutes from the cabin you can splash in the water and play at Elk Shoals, a tourist favorite in Ashe County. You can put your kayaks in at Elk Shoals and take out at Zaloos off Hwy 16 (about a 3-4 hour float). If you don’t have your own, don’t fret- you can rent canoes and kayaks from Zaloo’s just north of Glendale Springs or head south toward Todd and rent from River Girl Fishing. Here you can also rent bikes for the pleasant – and level – ride along Railroad Grade Road. Here you can embark on a 20-mile trip from Todd to Fleetwood to Todd again.

Only ten minutes away you can enjoy excellent hiking and views from Mt Jefferson State Park. Enjoy a hike and a long range view picnic after.

From here you are also about 30 minutes from all that Boone has to offer. Only another 15 beyond that you’re in Blowing Rock with even more shops, dining and antiques. We are 1 hour ten minutes from Beech Mountain.

Main Level: As you enter our cabin, you will find the great room with plenty of seating, stone gas fireplace (seasonal) which is wonderful to snuggle up to on those cold mountain winter days, fully stocked kitchen with a regular 12 cup coffee maker AND Keurig maker, microwave, crock pot, blender and more, and the dining room. The 2 master bedrooms with queen beds have their own En Suite private bathrooms. Great for 2 couples!

Lower Level: The lower level offers a bunk bed (twin over twin) which is perfect for the kids. There is additional seating on our large sectional and watch your favorite show on our large flat screen TV with ESPN.

Outside: You can relax or have your favorite meal on our large covered decks. After a long day of hiking or shopping, you will definitely want to relax in our soothing hot tub on the lower deck and take in the breathtaking views! Did we mention that th views are phenomenal and stunning? You will never want to come inside after spending time with Mother Nature. Your dogs (maximum of 2 under 40 pounds) can roam stress free in our large fenced yard in the back.

I drove my truck, as I normally do on these trips but seldom do I need to put it in 4WD but I did on this trip in order to turn the truck around to park at the house. It was not an issue for us but just know it is a little steep and the loose gravel makes it a bit difficult to turn around or back up at the top. Overall, loved it and hopefully will be back."

Welcome to Blessed Way Escape!

Blessed Way Escape is a 2BR/2.5BA cozy cabin located in a very private setting near West Jefferson. The cabin has soaring ceilings, a fireplace, TVs in bedrooms, a back deck with a large hot tub, and a rare find in the mountains is a large, grassy yard suitable for all manner of yard games, tossing a frisbee, or enjoying a campfire and roasting marshmallows.

The master bedroom and bath are on the main level and feature a king bed. Upstairs you will find a cozy queen-sized sleeping area, sloped ceilings, and a bathroom next to the bedroom. The couch on the lower level pulls out to make a full bed increasing the sleeping capacity to 6.

The Town of West Jefferson, known for its many art galleries, interesting shops, and dining, is less than 10 minutes away. Mount Jefferson State Park and the New River for canoeing, tubing and fishing are also close, within 15 minutes. The town of Boone is 25 minutes away.

Welcome to “Stone House Aerie”! New to our family March 2024!

Our tiny home, sleeps 5, is within walking distance to historical downtown West Jefferson.The West Jefferson Municipal park is in your back yard.....large kids playground, tennis courts, basketball court, swings, a jumbo slide, rest rooms, picnic tables and plenty of green space. "Stone House Aerie" is a great location to walk to the Parkway Movie Theater, Ashe County Cheese and the bustling Farmers Market that offers a wide variety of fresh, locally grown produce, artisanal crafts, homemade goods, seasonal fruits and veggies, fragrant flowers, delectable baked goods and more. All of this within an easy walk from our home.

This modern, new construction studio/tiny home is located in downtown West Jefferson, with easy access to all of the High Country. Easy and short walk to the park, library, restaurants or the many shopping establishments in town such as Ashe Cheese Factory, local breweries and cafes. Come stay with us in July and walk to the Christmas in July festival. ASU in Boone is about a 30 minute drive away. The ski slopes are approximately 40-50 minutes from West Jefferson.

Inside, you'll find a cozy living space with a queen bed and three twin bunk style beds. The bathroom has a beautiful pebble floor shower with frameless glass door. The full-sized laundry is next to the shower. In the living area, there is comfortable seating and a Roku TV, ready for guests to log in with their favorite apps. Free highspeed WIFI. There is a mini-split with heat and AC.

The kitchen has most everything you'll need, with a K-Cup maker to start the day right, gorgeous quartzite counters and stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher. The dining table can set up to 5 guests. All bed and bathroom linens are provided along with extra towels to use with the hot tub.

Outside, the tiny home is on a shared fenced lot with a nearby home (not a full time home) in front. Relax in the private hot tub or use the propane grill and large smoker/charcoal grill to prepare favorite meals to share. The custom Stonehenge-style fire pit (wood not provided) is the perfect place to gather on a cool, mountain evening! This outdoor space is made even better with string lights and seating throughout.

Ten minute drive to West Jefferson or Jefferson. Boone, Appalachian State University and the ski resources are :35 to :45 minutes away. ATVs are not available for guest use.

The cabin is a cozy space with 1 room for sleeping and a private bathroom.

There are multiple buildings on the property including our home, another rental space, and a barn.

Our 3 spaces at Soul Fire Camp and Cabins can sleep up to 8-10 guests, so this may be the perfect space for your friends trip, retreat, or family reunion!

Guests are welcome to enjoy the community areas including the fire pit (weather permitting) and wooded areas for walking and hanging hammocks.

Other things to note
The walk to your cabin includes about 30 steps "through the woods" where the path is slightly rocky and natural. Very short, and similar to an easy wooded trail.

Overall the walk from the parking area to the cabin is about 200 feet.

Lazy Daze Cabin is near West Jefferson, just below a state park atop Mount Jefferson. Our private cabin is in a quiet spot nestled in the woods just minutes from hiking & biking trails, golfing, canoeing, tubing, snow skiing, and more, but is a million miles away from the 9-to-5 grind.

The space
Come relax and listen to the wind in the trees, enjoy the mountain views, or splash in the nearby New River. Our cabin has all the comforts of home including pots/pans, bed and bath linens, big-screen TVs, cable, Netflix, Wi-Fi, and unlimited long distance on the phones. Pretty much everything but food, with even that just a short drive away to several restaurants and three grocery stores.

Guests are welcome to our entire cabin and grounds. Enjoy the wrap around porch, rocking chairs, log porch swing, or a leisurely stroll around the loop road of our small wooded neighborhood.

We have a push-button key code lock on the door that we typically set to the last four digits of a guest's phone #, so nobody will have your code--and access to the cabin during your stay--but you and us.

Out of the Blue is nestled on a mountain peak in West Jefferson, just 5 miles from the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway, 25 minutes from Boone, and about 40 minutes from Blowing Rock. Probably the best thing about the cabin is the view, particularly the sunrises. We also really enjoy nighttime and seeing all of the stars that you can’t see when you are in a city. It is rare to see anyone else while you are at our place, so take the time to enjoy the peace and quiet. The coziness of the cabin is warm and inviting while adventure awaits outside with plenty of nearby trails, waterfalls, and mountain views.

Guests have the entire cabin to themselves. There is room to park two vehicles outside the cabin.

*Road work has recently been completed and 4WD is no longer required to reach the cabin outside of the winter months or extreme bouts of inclement weather. However, the last 2.5 miles of road back to the cabin are gravel, so we still recommend a higher clearance vehicle.*

Other things to note
Absolutely no events. We have tailored our space for small, relaxing gatherings of no more than four adults or a small family. This is how we use our cabin and ask that you do the same. A fee will be charged for unauthorized guests.

We love traveling with our pups and know that you do too, so all well behaved dogs are welcome with no pet fee required. However, we ask that you crate your dog when left unattended. A fee will be charged for any damages caused by you or your pet. Please do not allow your pet to roam unsupervised through the woods.

Please remember where you are. Food or trash left outside will attract wildlife.

From the moment you arrive, Petite Retreat greets you with a wine bottle tree that glistens in the sunlight and solar lights at night. Climb the steps to the tiny house and you’ll find a covered porch with two chairs complete with side tables for the morning cup of coffee or enjoy a glass of wine as you watch the sunset.

Inside, you will find a spacious living area. There’s a comfy leather loveseat with recliners for two. A flatscreen TV that swivels so you can catch the game or curl up in the queen size bed and watch a good movie.

The kitchen area offers an induction cooktop, microwave, a mini fridge/freezer, and Keurig for the coffee lovers. There is plenty of cabinet space as well. Don’t want to cook inside? Then head outside to the full-size gas grill.

A cozy queen size bed with pull out drawers underneath in case extra storage is needed. There is also a private curtain that you can pull if you want to block out the natural light.

At the back of the tiny home is full size bath complete with step-in shower and sliding barn door for privacy.

The cabin was originally built in Shatley Springs with logs dating to the 1700's. It was moved to the current location near Glendale Springs around 1988. It features reclaimed heart of pine flooring, beamed ceilings, an open floor plan and a charming kitchen with leathered granite, a microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker.

The main level includes a spacious great room with a wood-burning fireplace, a quaint full bath a with a copper sink, and a queen-sized sleeper sofa to accommodate an additional friend or a child. The second level features a beautiful loft bedroom with a king-sized bed.

Relax and enjoy the cabin’s natural setting on the large front porch overlooking an expansive lawn and woods. - Please note their is a Ring camera mounted at the front door monitoring the entryway only. No cameras are monitoring the interior of the property or common gathering areas.

- Home offers a well stocked kitchen with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper, several garbage bags, dishwashing pods, laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Towels (including makeup remover wash clothes which can be found in the top drawer of the bathroom cabinet) and linens are provided.

- Home has gravel parking with space for two standard vehicles.

- Check in is after 3pm. If arriving after 10 pm please let host know.

The Cabin is located between West Jefferson and Boone. The area is both peaceful and tranquil. Many areas to walk your dog even down to the river. Sit on the front or side porch and see the deer pass by or the hummingbirds during warmer months. If you must work while visiting, there is a small desk in the second bedroom. The primary bedroom has an amazing king bed which our guests often comment about and ask for the manufacturer. Kitchen is fully stocked including a Keurig. Enjoy peace!

Bearadise is a cozy retreat to the mountains with views and an ideal location. The cabin is private, but not isolated, with other cabins not too far away. You are very close to the river in this neighborhood – in fact, you are close to everything but you’ll feel like you are a world apart, which is just what we come to the mountains for. The oversized front porch is the perfect place to read in the rocking chair or sit and relax on the porch swing. Everyone will enjoy an evening of S’mores around the outside fire pit! Inside, the cabin’s cozy architecture is expansive, featuring vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan. In the evenings or cold weather season, gather around the fireplace to play games or enjoy streaming on the TV. There’s something for everyone here- whether you prefer to stay home and grill something delicious or enjoy a night in downtown West Jefferson, you will not be dissatisfied!

Bearadise is perfect for a family, couple or two couples for a quick getaway or extended vacation. Comfortably sleeps four people. The cabin has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. One full bath and one half bath.

You can’t beat the location of Bearadise. Here you will find yourself only 10 to 15 minutes to much of what attracts people to Ashe County, including West Jefferson, a happening town with breweries, galleries, antiques, a movie theater, quaint shops, restaurants and festivals.

You can pick up the Blue Ridge Parkway less than 3 miles from the cabin and enjoy log range views for miles. No matter which direction you chose to go the famous scenic views of the parkway will not disappoint.

Less than 1/2 mile from the cabin is the South fork of the New River. Public access allows canoeing/kayaking/tubing/fishing and even swimming!

Less than 10 minutes from the cabin you can splash in the water and play at Elk Shoals, a tourist favorite in Ashe County. You can put your kayaks in at Elk Shoals and take out at Zaloos off Hwy 16 (about a 3-4 hour float). If you don’t have your own, don’t fret- you can rent canoes and kayaks from Zaloo’s just north of Glendale Springs or head south toward Todd and rent from River Girl Fishing. Here you can also rent bikes for the pleasant – and level – ride along Railroad Grade Road. Here you can embark on a 20-mile trip from Todd to Fleetwood to Todd again.

Only ten minutes away you can enjoy excellent hiking and views from Mt Jefferson State Park. Enjoy a hike and a long range view picnic after.

From here you are also about 30 minutes from all that Boone has to offer. Only another 15 beyond that you’re in Blowing Rock with even more shops, dining and antiques. We are 1 hour ten minutes from Beech Mountain.

Cabinlot is a three story cabin, nestled in the woods, located 10 minutes to downtown West Jefferson, 35 minutes to Boone and 45 minutes to Blowing Rock. Our cabin has access to Ashe Lake, a private lake for owners and guests, and you’ll have access to our private dock on the lake for fishing, swimming or using your own canoe/kayak/inner tube (no motorized boats allowed).  

Our home is pet friendly for your 4 legged family member (dogs only weighing less than 50 pounds). There is a one time nonrefundable pet fee of $100 per pet (maximum of 2 dogs) plus tax and your pet will have to be approved by management. All dogs must remain on a leash while outside. 

Our cabin offers 4 bedrooms (maximum of 10 guests), 3 bathrooms, lower level game room with a pool table, card table and a lot of board games. You and your family will enjoy spending quality family time at our cabin. There is parking for 4 vehicles and the access is graveled, but not steep. 

Main Floor: You will find our modern kitchen with fridge with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, regular coffee maker AND a Keurig machine, toaster, crock pot, and most everything else needed to prepare a great meal. The dining area will seat 6 comfortably and there is additional seating at the kitchen island for 2 more guests.

The living room boasts a beautiful gas fireplace (seasonal), Roku TV, and plenty of seating.

There are 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the main floor. One bedroom has a queen size bed and a Roku TV and the other bedroom across the hall has 2 twin beds and a TV with a Roku device for streaming apps. The full bathroom access is in the hallway near these 2 bedrooms.

Upper Floor: You will find the 3rd bedroom (Master Bedroom) with a queen bed and an En Suite bathroom with a tub/shower combo. There is a LG Thinc with Smart Remotes TVs to watch Netflix, Disney+ and other streaming apps (must use your own login for these apps). 

The loft offers a work station with a desk and chair for those times you have to “work from home”. We do have high speed WIFI internet as well.  

Lower Level: The 4th bedroom is on the lower level with 2 sets of bunk beds and 1 twin size bed (sleeps 5 guests). The third full bathroom with tub/shower combo along with the family/game room is on the lower level. 

The game room offers a full size pool table, card table, many board games and additional seating. There is also a LG Thinc with Smart Remotes TV with streaming apps. This is a great way to spend quality time with each other creating memories that will last a lifetime!

Outside: There is a charcoal grill on the deck, additional seating and seasonal views of Ashe Lake. Enjoy making S’mores, roasting wieners or telling your favorite story around the fire at our fire pit. Ashe Lake is just across the neighborhood road. We have a path from the cabin down to the lake. The access to the lake is easily accessible with a very short walk from the cabin. Fishing license is NOT required to fish in our private lake. 

Important Information: “Cabinlot” is located in a private community and guests are asked to be respectful of the neighborhood. Sound travels in the mountains, so please be mindful when enjoying our outdoor areas. There is a countywide noise ordinance in place after 10:00 PM.

Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is YOUR responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.

APP State of Mind is a retreat to the mountains with views and an ideal location as a home base for exploration. It’s private, but not isolated, with other cabins not too far away. You are very close to the river in this neighborhood – in fact, you are close to everything but you’ll feel like you are a world apart, which is just what we come to the mountains for.

The covered porches and gazebo beckon you to sit and take in the views. It’s a perfect place to read with your favorite cup of tea, coffee or wine, or just sit and be with the lovely setting. Your kids will enjoy playing in the grassed yard, and all of you can take advantage of the good gravel roads in the neighborhood for walking. Everyone will enjoy an evening of S’mores around the outside fire pit!

Inside, the cabin’s architecture is expansive, with vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan. In the evenings or cold weather season, the family can gather around the gas-log fireplace to play games or enjoy streaming on the smart TVs.

On the main floor there’s a master bedroom a comfy King bed, and a second bedroom with a queen. Upstairs you’ll find a large loft with bunk beds plus a twin, and another bathroom. Definitely room to spread out.

You can’t beat this cabin’s location, AND YOU HAVE COMMUNAL ACCESS TO THE RIVER!

You’ll be 10 to 15 minutes to much of what draws people to Ashe County, including West Jefferson, a happening town with galleries, antiques, two movie theaters, shops, restaurants and festivals. In the other direction you’ve got Glendale Springs, with the wonderful Greenhouse Crafts Shop, plus the Northwest Trading Post for a variety of art and crafts. You can pick up the Blue Ridge Parkway there, too. Take in the famous scenic views whether you go north or south. Go north and check out Doughton Park and the historic Brinegar cabin, where you’ll learn what life was like for a large family in a tiny cabin. Head south to the Moses Cone Park, with awesome trails and an arts and crafts gallery shop.

Less than 10 minutes from the cabin you can jump in the water and play at Elk Shoals, Ashe County’s newest park. Or put your kayaks in near the cabin and take out at Elk Shoals, about a 3-4 hour float. If you don’t have your own, you can rent canoes and kayaks from Zaloo’s just north of Glendale Springs or head south toward Todd and rent from River Girl Fishing, which also rents bikes for the pleasant – and level – ride along Railroad Grade Road, which offers a 20-mile trip from Todd to Fleetwood to Todd again.

From here you are also about 30 minutes from all that Boone has to offer, another 15 beyond that to Blowing Rock with even more shops, dining and antiques.

But, we also invite you to consider time just chilling. It’s your option. APP State of Mind offers it all.

This vacation rental offers private and direct access to the water, just a short stroll from the house. Trees on both sides of this lovely mountain retreat afford you the privacy you’re looking for, while the wide and wonderful double-decker porch provides beautiful river, hilltop and pastoral views.

Jackson's Ridge’s bright open floor plan makes socializing with your friends and family a breeze. The expansive covered deck on the main level is the ideal place to enjoy outdoor grilling, dining, entertaining or serene solitude, surrounded by the wonders of nature. Inside, the spacious living area features large windows open to the view, a vaulted ceiling, beautiful hardwood floors, a flatscreen TV and a gas log fireplace. The well-equipped kitchen offers ample work space and is open to the living and dining areas.

You will truly be master of this domain when you close out the day in the hot tub and then come directly inside to your primary bedroom, with a comfy queen-sized bed and private bath. This primary suite is located on the lower level, where you’ll also find the laundry room, for your convenience.

This lower level, which also includes a large family room with TV and a Foosball game, opens to the lower deck as well as the yard, with a lovely, manicured lawn in the front, facing the river. On the side of the house you’ll enjoy evenings around the private fire pit, so be sure to pack your ingredients for s’mores (also available in West Jefferson’s nearby supermarkets). Amazing star-gazing guaranteed.

The main upper level also includes two bedrooms – one with a queen bed and another with a king. These bedrooms share an additional full bath.

Jackson’s Ridge overlooks the river, halfway between Glendale Springs and West Jefferson, in the heart of the High Country. From this base you can explore a huge variety of attractions or you can stick around home and play on the river!

The nearby Glendale Springs Inn offers a wonderful dinner menu, for those special nights out. You’ll also find great restaurants in the town of West Jefferson, only 15-minutes away. This is small-town Americana at its finest, with a wonderful combination of charm and culture. Here you’ll find antiques, galleries, wine tasting and the famous Ashe Co. Cheese Factory. The old-fashioned country store also offers delicacies like homemade fudge, ice cream, salsas and local jams. Explore all of Main Street, and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time.

Drive a little further to Boone or Blowing Rock, for an even wider assortment of dining, entertainment and shopping options. Don’t miss your photo opportunities along the legendary Blue Ridge Parkway. And remember that here in Blue Ridge Country, the journey is as satisfying as the destination, with gorgeous scenery at every turn.

Grab your honey, your dog, or your best friend and get away to this cozy mountain cabin. The Downtown Cabin is a pet-friendly A-frame with a towering beamed living room, located just a couple minutes from downtown West Jefferson. The location can’t be beat!

The open floor plan on the main level includes a great room with TV, which opens into the well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen features stainless appliances and a large island: perfect for entertaining or money-saving meals at home. The master bedroom is conveniently located on this level as well, offering a private TV and a king-size bed for a great night’s sleep. The private en suite master bath has a tub and shower combo.

An additional bedroom in the loft has a queen bed, an adjacent seating area and its own TV. All 3 TVs are connected to the internet so you can stream your favorite shows using your account (only streaming available). There’s a handy half-bath on the main level as well, including a washer and dryer for your use. You’ll also enjoy the warmth and ambiance of the living room’s gas stove.

In the High Country, however, no one wants to stay inside for long. The Downtown Cabin provides a lovely park-like setting, with a wide lawn, surrounded by woods and caressed by the cool mountain breeze. Enjoy privacy and serenity from your wide covered deck – perfect for enjoying bird song and a beverage, or conversation with your favorite people. There’s a grill for dining al fresco. You’ll also love star-gazing at night from your luxury hot tub!

When you’re ready to go exploring, you’ll be amazed to see how close you are to charming downtown West Jefferson. The Downtown Cabin really gives you the best of the High Country.

The Downtown Cabin is a perfect place to relax, as well as a great base from which to explore the High Country. In 2-3 minutes you can be in West Jefferson, enjoying small town America at its finest. Experience the shops, restaurants, breweries, galleries, movie theaters and festivals, and watch cheese being made at the famous Ashe County Cheese Factory. Don’t miss the great antiques shopping at Antiques and Main, just a minute from the cabin.

When you’re ready for restaurant dining, you’ll find several options in both West Jefferson. If you like craft beer, check out Boondocks and New River Brewing. Fine dining is available at Craft Bistro and Morchella Provisions, and Home Slice is the place for pizza.

As you venture out to explore, visit Boone and Blowing Rock, for an even wider assortment of dining, entertainment and shopping options. Tour the campus of Appalachian State University, find live music and free concerts, or bring home a treasure from an arts and crafts fair.

From the Downtown Cabin you’re also no more than 20 minutes from the New River – a gentle, slow-moving river, safe and enjoyable for all ages. Take a swim, or try some fishing, canoeing, tubing or kayaking. Local outfitters will set you up with everything you need.

Phoenix Cabin-Open for Bookings! Hot Tub, Pets Considered, Fire Pit, AC, WIFI

Welcome our newest family member, Phoenix Cabin, August 2023.

If you’re looking for a small getaway with privacy, seclusion, great location and to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life……….this is it! New hot tub is up and running.

“Phoenix Cabin” offers 2 private bedrooms, one bedroom has a king size bed and the other bedroom has a queen size bed, 2 bathrooms, sleeping loft with 2 full size beds and a twin over twin bunk bed, a desk and chair for those that needs to work during their stay and a loft with a couch for reading or taking a nap overlooking the living room. Pets are considered. Approximate 1,550 square feet.

“Phoenix Cabin” is located just 4.5 miles to downtown West Jefferson, paved access off of state maintained road (graveled driveway), three tenths of a mile to the entrance of Twickenham House, approximately 10 minutes to Zaloo’s Canoes, less than 15 minutes to Mount Jefferson State Natural Area, and approximately 35 minutes to Boone.

Inside: As you enter, you’re greeted with an open floor plan. The living room boasts comfortable seating, seasonal gas fireplace, Fire TV with streaming apps (you will need to use your login information), and doors that will lead to the outside deck.

Kitchen and Dining: The step-saver fully stocked kitchen has the modern conveniences such as a dishwasher, toaster oven, Keurig coffee maker, fridge, electric oven, cookware, dinnerware, Intant Pot, French press, Ninja Blender, and most everything needed to prepare a meal. The dining area can accommodate up to 6 guests and there is additional seating at the kitchen peninsula counter. The washer and dryer are in the hallway on the main floor.

Sleeping: There are private 2 bedrooms on the main floor. Each bedroom has a flat screen FireTV with streaming apps. One bedroom has a king size bed and the 2nd bedroom offers a queen size bed. There is a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo on the main floor just outside of the 2 bedrooms.

Upper Floor: As you travel upstairs, you’ll find the open sleeping loft with 2 full size beds, a set of twin over twin bunk beds and a flat screen Fire TV with streaming apps (using your own login information). There is also a full bathroom with a step in tiled shower. For those that has to work during your vacation, there is a computer desk and office chair in the loft. There is a couch, a bookcase with books and is a great place to curl up to read a book overlooking the living room below.

Pet Policy: Well behaved dogs are welcome with a $100 pet fee per pet and must be approved by management. There is a 2 dog limit. We also require our guests to clean up after their pet’s “business” to avoid additional cleaning fees and pets are not allowed on the furniture. There is a nice metal 10x10x6 dog pen for your dog to be outside and yet be safe. Guest must sign a Pet Addendum for approval of your pet (no cats or puppies permitted).

Outside: Relax in our new 6 person hot tub and do some stargazing! A great way to end the day! Enjoy the outdoor gas fire pit on the deck with rocking chairs. There is also a wood burning outdoor fire pit (wood not provided). We have 10 acres so there is plenty of privacy and room to roam. However, our cabin does sit near a state maintained road but is hidden by trees and shrubs.

-Tire chains and 4WD/AWD may be necessary during the winter months.
-The owners may use outdoor surveillance cameras to ensure that their home remains safe. No cameras monitor the inside rooms of the home.
-There is no land-line phone in our cabins. Cell phone coverage is not guaranteed. The home does have WIFI so you may be able to call using WIFI calling.
-No Smoking or vaping inside the cabin.
-Minimum age requirement is 25 years old

As you wind up the paved drive, you will find 4+ acres at this estate that looks down on West Jefferson. Take in the seasonal mountain and town views while your cares melt away. Please note that the main house is rented out separately as Walnut Hill, or if you decide to bring the entire family you can rent both as Walnut Hill Estate.

This spacious upstairs studio style cottage is expertly designed and decorated in luxury farmhouse style. Complete with seating, a comfy king-sized bed, kitchen, dining table, and bath with step-in shower, it accommodates two with plenty of place. A smart TV is also provided as well as Wi-Fi.

Boone is located within a 30-35 minute drive and from there, skiing is about another 10-25 minutes further.

When you stay at our cabin, you will get the feeling of being on top of the world overlooking our majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. You and your family will enjoy spending quality time in our 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom cabin with Wi-Fi, AC, wood burning fireplace, breathtaking views, charcoal grill and MORE (sorry but no pets allowed). Conveniently located just minutes to downtown West Jefferson with ALL paved access, close to dining, shopping, hiking, fishing, canoeing, The Blue Ridge Parkway and all other activities and attractions. Welcome to Indian Cove, a beautiful and secluded cabin tucked away in the woods. Indian Cove offers 3 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 8 guests, 3 full bathrooms, pool table, NEW hot tub summer of 2024, gas fireplace (seasonal), outdoor fireplace, WIFI, AC, washer & dryer and pet friendly with management approval (some restrictions apply, see below).

If you’re looking for solitude and privacy – look no further. Indian Cove is the last house at the end of the country graveled road. You will love our modern and well appointed log cabin, conveniently located between Boone and West Jefferson, on a well secluded tract surrounded by Mother Nature. It provides multi-level living and plenty of amenities to please the whole family. Check-in is after 4:00 PM and check-out is before 11:00 AM.

At Indian Cove, we believe that nobody should be left behind. We will allow you to bring your four-legged family member, under 50 pounds each, with a onetime nonrefundable pet fee of $100 plus tax per dog (2 dog maximum, no cats).

Main Floor: The main level offers floor to ceiling stone fireplace with gas logs (seasonal), vaulted ceiling, Bose Wave Radio with iPhone adapter and 50" Flat screen TV with Direct TV Satellite and Blue Ray/DVD. Comfortable seating with a leather couch and recliner.

You’ll also find the dining table, eating bar and full kitchen that is well equipped for the chef of your family including a regular coffee maker with a built in K-cup, dishwasher, fridge, new electric range with Air Fryer feature, and crock pot. You'll love the natural light and mountain ambiance from 2 sets of French doors and many windows. Bedroom with queen bed and full bathroom in the hall is also on main level.

Upper Level: The top floor offers master suite with reading chair and 29" Flat screen TV/Satellite and King bed. The En Suite master bath offers a jetted tub and separate shower.

Lower Level: You will enjoy hours of fun on the lower level. Featuring a spacious game room with added seating of a couch and rocker, pool table, card/game table, 51" Satellite TV/DVD, books and games.

The third bedroom offers bunk beds (twin/twin) and a full size bed, as well as a full bath and laundry room are also on the lower level. French doors on the lower level lead to a deck with covered seating area and a new 5-6 person hot tub that was installed early July 2024.

Outside: The custom log cabin's main level outdoor living area includes covered deck with swing, rockers, 2 restored park benches, and a patio set. A custom-built outdoor fireplace makes it easy to roast S’mores. On the outside porch there is seating for 6-8 to gather and eat together. For added fun, play corn hole on the paved driveway. Other features include USB charger adapters in each bedroom, charcoal grill, iron, ironing board and all linens are provided.

Indian Cove is the perfect way to spend quality time with the family. For the outdoor lovers, enjoy the nearby state parks, canoeing such as Riverside Canoe Rentals or Zaloos Canoes, or hiking at one of the many trials in Ashe County. If you like horseback riding, Burnt Hill Stables is a short drive away and a great place for family memories. You can visit our local chamber of commerce, Ashe County Chamber of Commerce, for more information of things to and places to eat in our area! For the winter activities, Appalachian Ski Mountain, is approximately 45 minutes away; Sugar Mountain Resort is approximately 60 minutes from our cabin; Beech Mountain Ski Resort is a bit further away with an hour and 15 minute drive. Summer attractions like Tweetsie Railroad is about 35-40 minutes and Blowing Rock is around 45 minutes away. The majority of area attractions are within an hour drive from our cabin. West Jefferson is a short 15 minute drive to local restaurants, shopping and grocery stores.

The welcoming oversized deck boasts a large woodburning fireplace perfect for relaxing outside on a cool Carolina Mountain evening. There’s plenty of seating so curl up with a glass of wine or roast marshmallows for making s’mores.

Inside, the cozy living room offers new leather furniture featuring electric recliners, a gas fireplace, and a large flat screen TV for watching your favorite show or movie. The open concept living, kitchen and dining area is perfect for families.

Cook your favorite meal in the delightful kitchen which provides granite countertops, stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher for quick clean-up, and items needed to cook a family meal. There’s seating at the kitchen island for five and the dining table offers seating for four.

The space
This mountain beauty provides the ambiance you’re looking for, with the comfort and convenience that makes your vacation perfect. It boasts beautiful wood paneling and antique furniture throughout, and is gorgeously equipped with all the supplies, kitchenware and linens you’ll need.

This is a great choice for families or large groups, because there’s not only plenty of beds and bathrooms, but also two separate living spaces – with two TVs! The airy kitchen is spacious, updated and well-stocked with extras, including an island with additional seating. The media room on the first floor (conveniently located next to the kitchen) offers a flat-screen TV with Roku and a game table. Its open floor-plan includes walk-outs to the patio and gas grill. One floor up, a second great room offers an additional TV and lots of plush, comfy couch space. Everyone gets their own space to relax and entertain in!

To help you get a feel for the lay-out: The first floor has the open-concept kitchen, media room and dining room, as well as a powder room AND a full bathroom. The second floor has the master bedroom with en suite bath, and the great room, with walk-out to the porch. The third floor has two homey bedrooms with queen beds, and a full bath. There’s even a bathtub for small children, or anyone who enjoys a relaxing soak.

Although the soft mountain breezes are likely to keep you cool, we’ve also outfitted your vacation get-away with central air conditioning and ceiling fans. In the winter, the fireplace provides lots of snuggling opportunities.

The exterior features a covered porch as well as a patio for grilling out. The home’s wall of windows keeps the interior light and airy. There’s a bright and comfy reading nook for quiet moments, and high-speed internet to help you stay connected. Rock n Rhapsody is conveniently located off Buck Mountain Road in the quaint mountain town of West Jefferson. This is the heart of the High Country, offering a huge spectrum of attractions and outdoor recreation. West Jefferson gives you restaurants and terrific shopping, including antique stores and art galleries. There’s even a quaint movie theater. This is small-town Americana at its finest.

Drive a little further to Boone or Blowing Rock, for an even wider assortment of dining, entertainment and shopping options. Tour the campus of Appalachian State University, or visit our craft breweries. And remember that here in the High Country, the journey is as satisfying as the destination, with gorgeous scenery at every turn.

In the winter enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing or ice skating at one of the many area resorts. In spring or summer, the New River offers tubing, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Welcome to “Stone House Aerie”! New to our family March 2024!  

Our tiny home, sleeps 5, is within walking distance to historical downtown West Jefferson. The West Jefferson Municipal park is in your back yard.....large kids playground, tennis courts, basketball court, swings, a jumbo slide, rest rooms, picnic tables and plenty of green space. "Stone House Aerie" is a great location to walk to the Parkway Movie Theater, Ashe County Cheese and the bustling Farmers Market that offers a wide variety of fresh, locally grown produce, artisanal crafts, homemade goods, seasonal fruits and veggies, fragrant flowers, delectable baked goods and more. All of this within an easy walk from our home.

This modern, new construction studio/tiny home is located in downtown West Jefferson, with easy access to all of the High Country. Easy and short walk to the park, library, restaurants or the many shopping establishments in town such as Ashe Cheese Factory, local breweries and cafes. Come stay with us in July and walk to the Christmas in July festival. ASU in Boone is about a 30 minute drive away. The ski slopes are approximately 40-50 minutes from West Jefferson. 

Inside, you'll find a cozy living space with a queen bed and three twin bunk style beds. The bathroom has a beautiful pebble floor shower with frameless glass door. The full-sized laundry is next to the shower. In the living area, there is comfortable seating and a Roku TV, ready for guests to log in with their favorite apps. Free highspeed WIFI. There is a mini-split with heat and AC. 

The kitchen has most everything you'll need, with a K-Cup maker to start the day right, gorgeous quartzite counters and stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher. The dining table can set up to 5 guests. All bed and bathroom linens are provided along with extra towels to use with the hot tub. 

Outside, the tiny home is on a shared fenced lot with a nearby home (not a full time home) in front. Relax in the private hot tub or use the propane grill and large smoker/charcoal grill to prepare favorite meals to share.  The custom Stonehenge-style fire pit (wood not provided) is the perfect place to gather on a cool, mountain evening!  This outdoor space is made even better with string lights and seating throughout.

Come and stay with us at our beautiful 3 bedroom cabin that is located at the base of Mount Jefferson State Natural Area. If you’ve never been to Mount Jefferson State Natural Area, you’re missing out. Mount Jefferson is a national natural landmark with a rich history right in our back yard! Five hiking trails allow exploration of rare geology and plant communities, including a child-friendly Track trail and a strenuous scramble along the mountain’s ridgeline. Overlooks offer vistas into neighboring states. Picnic grounds with shelter combine scenic views with cool summer temperatures and breezes. One of the best parts is that there are NO fees to enjoy the park.

We are located just very close to town with all paved access, just minutes to downtown West Jefferson (about 1 mile to the Super Wal-Mart). When you stay at “A Wooded Escape” you will feel like you have truly escaped the hustle and bustle of work, everyday life and all the noise and lights of a city.

Our cabin offers 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, hot tub, pool table, fire pit, sleeps up to 6 guests and high speed Wi-Fi!! All of the TVs in the cabin have Amazon Fire TV Sticks devices for streaming your favorite movies or shows and no worry about clogging up the WIFI with 500 mbps of speed! Our cabin was constructed with hand hued logs and beams and features beautiful wood throughout.

Main Floor: As you enter our cabin, you are greeted with an open floor plan with the kitchen (has regular coffee maker AND Keurig), dining area and living room. We also offer a Pack-N-Play, a deluxe highchair and a baby gate. The living room has a large sectional sofa, gas fireplace (seasonal) and a large flat screen HDTV with Amazon Fire TV Stick (no cable) for streaming apps like Netflix, Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, etc. (you provide your login information).

There are 2 bedrooms, full bathroom and stacked washer and dryer on the main floor as well. One bedroom offers a queen size bed and the 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds. You can access the covered deck with a porch swing and enjoy Mother Nature nestled in the trees.

Upper Floor: There is a bedroom with a king size bed and a full bathroom, a second work station with a monitor and ergonomic office chair. The spacious loft offers a computer desk with monitor and an ergonomic office chair for those that has to work on vacation, a couch and large HDTV with Amazon Fire TV Stick and a NES Classic and SNES Classic video game system with 30+ games on each.

Lower Level: You and your friends/family can enjoy a competitive game of pool. There is also a flatscreen TV with Amazon Fire TV Stick and a gas stove to help keep you warmer during the colder months. There is also a full bathroom on the lower level. The is an additional private room with a sleeper sofa, a flat screen Smart TV, a poker table and board games..

Outside: Escape and relax in our new Jacuzzi 6 person hot tub after a long day of hiking or shopping. The back deck offers a dining table and a gas grill. There is access to the fenced in dog area from the back deck as well and is a great place for smaller kids.

At "A Wooded Escape", we believe that nobody should be left behind. Why leave your pet at home when you can bring them along for the adventure. Well behaved dogs are welcome for a 1 time nonrefundable pet fee of $100 per dog plus tax (sorry, but no cats allowed). The access roads are paved and easily accessible (4x4/AWD is highly encouraged and recommended during the winter months). This is a great location for local shopping, hiking, skiing, canoeing, fishing and exploring!
