Beautiful cabin, spotlessly clean sleeps 1-4 and has a HOT TUB on the front porch, just outside the master bedroom. We are just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and our cabin is PET FRIENDLY (well-behaved dogs only!) Come stay at “Time to Unwine,” and enjoy the wonderful views, stocked fishing pond, fire pit with wood, free wifi/internet, the cool mountain weather, and all of the nearby activities. This cabin has all of the modern amenities. Our master bedroom features a queen-size memory foam mattress. Our loft bedroom is roomy and cozy and accessible by an interior ladder. We provide Keurig coffee maker, crockpots for easy cooking, and nice updated cookware.

The cabin includes a full kitchen with microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Our living room has a flat screen television and a stone fireplace (gas logs). Outside, enjoy our spacious front covered deck with picnic table, fishing gear, Adirondack chairs around a firepit with provided wood, and pond view! The bed slept amazing. The bathroom is beautiful. I was worried because there wasnt a picture. I totally recommend this place. We didn’t use the hot tub but it is nice and right outside your bedroom. We will definitely be back!" - "The cabin was perfect with a covered front porch and hot tub and all of the necessary essentials, and most importantly it was dog friendly. We visited 3 dog friendly wineries and 2 dog friendly breweries (thanks to our hostess, Laura, who made the suggestions), hiked, viewed the many landmarks and spent a day in Mount Airy, NC. Perhaps you'd prefer to stretch out in our large mountain cabin, we call it the Depot. It's similar in appearance to some of the old depots that once dotted the landscape at small railroad stops across the country. The 2 person jacuzzi is in the bedroom with a queen size bed and an additional queen size sleeper sofa is in the living area. The depot is very spacious with over 500 sq/ft (16'x32') and features 3 decks 2 of them covered as well as all the other amenities of the cabooses. There is also a 34' flat screen TV in the living area. You will not find a cabin this size with all the extras we provide for less.

We have a few of the remaining mining cars from the old Austinville lead mines. There is only limestone left now but the mines used to produce the lead for musket balls, cannon balls and other things during the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. The lead was taken to the Shot Tower on the New River & molten lead was dropped down the tower into the river where it immediately cooled to form a round ball. The mines were opened in 1756 and were discovered by Colonel John Chiswell. The center car was an actual dynamite car but I had to rebuild it after it was out in the weather for around half a century.

Escape the hustle and bustle of urban life as you relax on one of the decks in an oversize rocker while taking in the high meadow, rolling countryside at an elevation around 3000 ft. There are a couple of oversize swings on the hill to relax and unwind while the world hurries by. Since we're just off the Blue Ridge Parkway you will find this to be a peaceful and serene setting.

The host was so nice to us as well and gave us tips about where to go in the area." - "The caboose was an excellent get away for me my wife and our dogs. Owner suppled a sheet so that the pups could sit on the couch which I didn't expect since most rentals ask for animals not to be on the furniture. We hiked for a large part of our stay, so we only really got to enjoy the caboose in the evening. Which we highly regretted. There are decks on both sides of rental so that you can experience an amazing view of the sunrise and sunset. Highly recommend! We hope to stay here again in the future."

WiFi password on side of refrigerator along with other important numbers. We have provided a free landline it is in the main bedroom for local and long distance calls within the U.S. Cell service not very good but can use the landline or WiFi to text. Verizon seems to be best. This is why we love living here in the mountains. You can still be in touch but not bothered with urban issues and noise. All amenities you need to get away, relax and enjoy nature in a quiet setting but close to several points of interest and things to do. Located just off Blue Ridge Parkway and Hwy 52 and Interstate 77. Just 18 miles to Mt Airy, NC home of Andy Griffith, close to several wineries, Galax home of the Annual Fiddlers Convention, Blue Ridge Mountain Center, the New River where you can kayak, fish hike, bike and horseback ride. Several annual festivals as well as the Memorial Day and Labor Day giant flea market in Hillsville. You Have to experience to enjoy the mountain experience. This four bedroom, three bathroom cozy cabin accommodates up to eight guests but romantic for just two. On the main level you will find a bedroom featuring a double bed with convenient access to the kitchen and living room. Upstairs, the master bedroom features a pillow-top king mattress that is so comfortable you will not want to get out of bed! The third bedroom features a comfy king bed, and the fourth bedroom features a bunk bed with two twins and a twin/full bunk bed for a total of four. This room is ideal for kids and features a TV/VCR, library of children’s videos, games and books.

This spacious 1,800 square foot cabin has a large wraparound deck with table and chairs (including two rockers) and unbelievable mountain and lower gap views. For your outdoor dining is a gas grill and ample seating. In the yard you will find a horseshoe pit, benches for birdwatching, beautiful landscapes and a firepit! Wildlife is abundant, especially deer. Pack a picnic lunch and sit by the stream. As the sun disappears watch as the sky lights up from the homes in the valley and the stars above.

The living room offers plenty of space to relax and spread out. The stone fireplace is perfect for relaxing and toasting marshmallows. There is satellite television with premium channels, Netflix for endless movies, blue ray DVD player, wireless bluetooth stereo, video library, book library, and a bookcase filled with a dozen popular games.
The dining room offers seating for up to eight at the table, and seating for an additional four at the breakfast bar (plus plenty of seating on the deck for outdoor cooking/grilling).

The large country kitchen offers every amenity: dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, microwave, wine cooler, Keurig(bring your favorite K-cups), Mr Coffee machine, milk frother, coffee press, tea pot, mixer, blender, food processor, Nutra Bullet, coffee maker, crockpot, and toaster. We have plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, mugs, pitchers, silverware, utensils, etc.

Unfortunately, the hot tub is no longer operable. It has been removed as an amenity.

- "This is our second stay at the cabin. We have family in the area and this is our go-to vacation house. The views are just wonderful. Even family that came to visit said “Y’all have quite a view.” The house has all you need for a comfortable stay. Clean and welcoming. Our host was very responsive if we had questions. We saw deer 🦌, turkeys 🦃, and baby skunks with Mamma. When we visit we take advantage of the mill's wonderful simple fixings. We also had fun fishing and visiting wineries close by. Again, as many have mentioned, the driveway is straight up a mountain ⛰️. Awd or 4x4 recommend. We have a Sienna AWD and it didn't have a problem. Thanks again Pam for a great stay!"

This quaint cabin (The Bear Den) is situated only feet from the east fork of Little Reed Island creek. Sit on the porch and relax listening to the harmonious melody of the water cascading over the beautiful outcropped rocks, or open the windows and let the tranquil water sounds lull you to sleep. The layout is simple and decorated to establish a sense of bygone charm and relaxation.

Feel free to hike the gravel road, roam the nearby woods, or hop in the creek. We do live on the property and you may see us working around the land. We would like to kindly ask our guests not to enter the buildings or barns on the property .

We are constantly working hard to improve the property to better serve our guests. We are close to beginning our second cabin and are still in the process of driveway and parking improvements, so please pardon our "dust"

Our mountain properties are nestled in the woods, which means you're truly immersed in nature, it's part of the charm! That said, while we take every measure to keep our properties clean and comfortable, you may occasionally see a bug or critter during your stay along with other wild life including bears and deer. This is completely normal for a forested environment and part of the rustic experience. We recommend keeping doors closed and food sealed to help minimize visits from curious insects. If you're especially sensitive to nature's little visitors, feel free to pack some bug spray for added peace of mind!
