Our unique Cabin is a 3 bd, 3 ba with en suite/family room and comfy sofa bed for a fourth bedroom option. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Wifi, TV cable & Netflix, Amazon & Hulu. Fully equipped kitchen, laundry, large porches, great grill and wonderful secludedness. Lovely for a small family gathering to a magical stay-cation!

Our lodge was originally a small cabin, built in the 1930's. It is a modern equipped Home , with Ac/heat, and electric stove range and dishwasher yet still has all the original cabin charm from its birth. . it was kept in possession by the same family and in-laws and wasn't truly updated until the last few years. All the stone fireplaces and foundation you will see is original beautiful rock from our local and Historic Hanging Rock National Park.

The Property itself is nestled back away from the road down a long private drive in the woods. We do have neighbors but no one is that close. So if you want the feeling of getting away to the middle of practically nowhere, but be able to get to all the local hangs of Downtown, Arts District, Reynolda Village and Gardens, Wake Forest University which is only a mile away and major grocery stores including Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, in 10 min or less then you will enjoy staying here!

Beautiful views of oak trees and pines, and a great place to watch deer and sometimes see a few ground hogs foraging around. The cardinals and yellow finches are breathtaking and you are bound to have memorable mornings here sipping coffee or tea on one of our 3 beautiful stone porches!

The cabin has a special personality and loves to be admired and appreciated! With a cabin comes quirks sometimes even if everything is updated and modern conveniences are provided don’t be surprised if occasionally you come across a spider or a cobweb. They work fast and sometimes faster than we can clean. And we clean a lot!

With that said, We hope you leave your stay here feeling refreshed and treated well.

This ideal couple's retreat is a super cozy cabin located on our private property. This cabin has all the amenities of home in approx. 400 sf with an amazing amount of storage. It has a full bath and kitchen. It has a full bath and kitchen. Enjoy the private pergola patio! Dine outside after preparing your meals on the Blackstone griddle grill, enjoy sitting on the rockers while watching the deer cross the lower field, swing in the hammocks AND relax in the hot tub under the starry sky! This cabin has all the amenities of home in approximately 400 sf with an amazing amount of storage. It has a full bath and kitchen. During the day, visit the local attractions and come back to The Cabin to chill in the evenings! Located on a quiet county road, this cabin has farmhouse charm. Rock into tranquil comfort on the front porch. On cool nights snuggle up by the gas firepit table out back. The property is just minutes from Hanging Rock State Park. There you can hike, fish, mountain bike, kayak or canoe the day away. You could also tour the Yadkin Valley wineries for a fun day trip. Well within an hour you could be in Mayberry, the Blue Ridge Parkway, historic Old Salem or Pilot Mountain. The backyard is spacious for playing yard golf, darts, disk golf or corn hole. If you bring your bike or kayak, you can store it in the barn. But the real charm of this place is the quiet retreat of a place to rest at the end of fun packed day.

We have 4 fur babies on the property. They are confined to the property by an underground fence. The Cabin is within their boundary, but rest assured we will do our very best to keep them from visiting you too much! Actually they are very spoiled and prefer to be in our (their) house!

A dog will be considered to accompany you as well (max. 60 lbs). There is a $50 pet fee. However, we have dogs on site so we need to discuss prior to bookings. Thank you for your cooperation with this condition.

Nellie’s Homeplace is a historic cabin located on a 100-acre Century Farm at the base of Sauratown Mountain. The cabin holds many memories and historical significance from the last 100+ years on the farm. Nellie, the grandmother of one of the current owners, was born in the cabin and lived there for several years of her childhood. The cabin has been restored in recent years in hopes that others may too enjoy the peacefulness of the cabin nestled between the trees on the back side of the farm.
Other things to note
Nellie’s cabin has area attractions within 30 minutes or less from the property. Hanging Rock State Park in Danbury, NC is a 15 minute drive. Hanging Rock State Park offers hiking trails and a lake for swimming. Stokes County Arts Council in historic Danbury features art for sale by local artist along with Rocky’s Ice Cream and Coffee Shop. Also next door to the Stokes County Arts Council is Artist Way Creations Bakery which offers meals and sweet treats. Pilot Mountain State Park in Pilot Mountain, NC is a 20 minute drive which offers hiking trails. Historic Mount Airy, NC which is a 30 minute drive offers downtown shopping along with the Andy Griffith Museum and several restaurants. Only 10 minutes away is historic downtown King with local shops and restaurants. Downtown Winston-Salem, NC is a 25 minute drive with local shops and fine dining along with the popular Mast General Store.

- "The location, despite a few minutes from town, is beautiful. The cabin is located at the end of a drive through a farm that is very calming. The cabin's location is perfect...in the trees with a pond view. It has been updated to include all the necessities and is perfect for two people. It is close to lots of hiking at Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Park plus lots of wineries. Vickie is wonderful to work with and is willing to provide whatever you need."

Our cozy cabin retreat is tucked away in a secluded area of our 50 acre horse farm, surrounded by nature; and well supplied with all the essentials for a comfortable stay for a night or a week.

Enjoy our beautiful woods, creeks and picnic areas; schedule a complimentary barn visit to interact with and learn about our Rocky Mountain Horses and Miniature Donkeys, and relax by the fireplace, or bonfire with your favorite beverage. Also on this floor is 1 bedroom with a queen bed and 1 full bath along with a washer and dryer.

Behind the stone fireplace you will find a staircase that leads to the loft outfitted with a queen bed and private bath.

Downstairs you will find the second living area with another wood burning fireplace as well as a bar, entertainment area, and stone tile floors. The lower living area has views of the valley and its own wrap around porch. In addition to the living area there is one bedroom with 2 bunk beds, sleeping 6 if needed and a full bathroom.

It’s beautifully appointed, very cozy, and sits just inside the woods with pasture land and a small pond in front of it. The Hot Tub Hideaway is also only 1/2 mile from I-74, 10 min to downtown Winston Salem and 15-20 min to Greensboro or High Point. It’s the ideal place to getaway and relax while still being super convenient to everything else!

A mile and a half from the main campus of Wake Forest University and less than ten minutes from the vibrant downtown Winston Salem scene, you'll feel like you are in the mountains. A peaceful setting in a heavily wooded neighborhood gives you the best of both. Nearby you will find a public library, Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Italian and American cuisine as well as the usual fast food.

It is a one bedroom house, with a day bed in the hallway. There is a step in shower with grab bars. Easy access. We have added a day bed in the pass through to the kitchen.
The Washer and Dryer are in the bathroom.

My husband and I stay in this house quite often as we rent out our larger home located just behind this one. Some of our personal belongings, clothing etc are in the house, but there is plenty of room for guest to be comfortable..

- "We loved being here. Nice to feel away from everything but still close to amenities. Everything was lovely and would return." - "The cedar shake cabin is located in a quiet residential area. If you're on vacation, you will have to drive for any necessities, such as local shopping. For me, however, it's ideally located, less than a 5 minute walk from my son's house. Rustic is the operative word, both the exterior and interior. Much of the furniture is spartan, but completely usable. The property is advertised as sleeping 5 (I was alone), but I think 3 or 4 is the optimum number. I was there in the winter (the coldest spell in a couple of decades), and was happy to find that the heating system worked very well. The cabin is well appointed; you'll have virtually everything you'll need. Poke around, especially in the kitchen, so you know where everything is. (I didn't find the ironing board until I was leaving on the last day. It's behind the bedroom door.) The only thing I missed was a night light to help me navigate to the bathroom at night. The cabin has a large screen TV, and cable service with about 10 gazillion channels. There's WiFi, which I didn't try, but I'm sure it works fine. There are a lot of magazines scattered around, most having to do with architecture and interior design, probably an indication of the owner's interests. The kitchen has everything you would need: refrig, microwave, smooth top electric range, toaster (no toaster oven), dishwasher, cookware, and enough dishes and tableware for when your extended family from Pittsburgh visits. I couldn't figure out how to turn on the light above the range (it's built into the microwave, but the light switch has no effect). Bathroom has shower, washer, dryer, and a generous supply of towels. And then there's the deck. Plenty of furniture for enjoying the outdoors in the summer; there's a charcoal grill. The deck is accessible from inside, and from outside steps. It overlooks a small wooded patch; the owner reports that there have been several interesting wildlife sightings. I couldn't use it because of the weather. Maybe next time. In sum, you couldn't go wrong with this property. You'll be very comfortable and self-sufficient. Keep an eye out for the wildlife."

Welcome to the Carolina Frost Cabin, a beautifully restored cabin built prior to 1840. Relaxing inside-out living with a spacious screened-in porch. The interior features authentic antique furniture and exposed logs/beams while still providing all of the desired modern amenities. The cabin is conveniently located in downtown Mocksville - walking distance from restaurants, shopping, pubs, etc.

The cabin features a king size bed, stainless steel appliances, screened-in porch and a washer/dryer for your convenience. All towels and linens are provided.

The living room and bedroom are equipped with Smart TVs with Netflix or any other streaming apps available for use (you must use your own sign-in credentials). The living room includes a desk set up for your home-office needs.

The bedroom is complete with a king size bed, Roku TV, large closet, and private bathroom with tub/shower (there is a step to get into the tub/shower). There is a couch in the living room and air mattresses available for additional guests.

The shower water is opposite of what I’m used to. Cold was all the way to the left and hot to the right. Just FYI. "

- "This was hands down our absolute favorite vrbo where we have stayed. Absolutely stunning home set in a secluded, wooded setting. The home is a mix of modern accommodations paired with a rustic 1800s cabin. There is a large great room with a modern kitchen with every amenity needed. The addition, built around the cabin, is brand new. The furnishings and artwork are stunning. There is a large deck off the living area which looks out on several acres of wooded property. It is a perfect place to sit in the morning with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. The lower level has a foosball table, seating area, bathroom, and washer and dryer. One of the features that makes this property so unique is the attention to detail in the architecture and furnishings. The walls on the lower level are reclaimed metal roofing, the steps are reclaimed wood, and the bathrooms all have stone features. The most unique element is the cabin. There is a large fireplace in the room with a cozy seating area and artwork/furnishings tied to the R.J. Reynolds era. In the front of the home is a large firepit where we made s'mores. Firewood was provided. In addition to the firepit and back deck, there is a large side porch . You will want for nothing at this home. The location is a 15 min drive to Wake Forest and was the perfect location to spend a weekend with our Demon Deacon. Can't express how much we enjoyed staying at this home. Be prepared to never want to leave."

Welcome to our Mountain home with one of the most stunning views of north carolina mountains. Enjoy morning coffee on deck and first floor balcony with incredible views of mountains and clouds. The new river water evaporates during the day and condenses in clouds giving us a felling that we are on the clouds. The back yard is surrounded by woods and a privacy fence with a hammock and fire pit that is available to use! Great place close to downtown. NO SMOKING of any kind allowed anywhere.

The space
This is a most unique cabin, built it in late 70s and custom interior work done by myself! With the feel of being in the mountains but positioned in the Middle of Winston, it is conveniently located to most everything in the city. The cabin is Tucked away right off of Peters Creek Parkway, which is straight shot into downtown. Mostly in a COMMERCIAL business area, and NOT a gated community. I can not stress enough that this cabin is in the CITY! There is literally a Bojangles across the street! Expect that when you arrive!!!No late check outs!

Guest access
Guest have access to the entire UPPER LEVEL of the cabin, which includes two bedrooms, living room, bathroom, kitchen and private fenced in back yard. It’s not the entire cabin, but that was the only option when setting up my account. The lower level is also a separate airbnb apartment.

Due to disrespectful people wanting to throw a party for 100-200 people in my home and trash it for a price of $90 a night, I’m also very strict. This house is for sleeping only. If you think you’re going to have a gathering or friends over, forget it. You want to have “family” over and cook out, NOPE. Only the number of people you have on your check in will be allowed.

This basement studio apt. is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit. Just steps away from the NC School of the Arts, historic Old Salem, Salem College, or the Salem Strollway that takes you through downtown Winston Salem. Located conveniently between I-40 or Hwy 52. Take a quick trip to High Point, Childress Vineyards, Mt. Airy, Hanging Rock State Park, etc. Greensboro airport is a 25 minute drive. Close to the coliseum, hospitals, Wake Forest & Winston Salem State University.

The space
The studio apartment is one large room with a full size comfy pillowtop bed. Kitchen is off to the side. Dorm size fridge, microwave, and stove.
There is a dedicated workspace. Full bathroom with a tub and shower. Closet with storage and front and back patio with a view of the Winston Salem skyline. 🏙️

You will have the whole downstairs of the cabin which is a studio apartment with separate entrance down the brick steps (nine steps). Guests will also enjoy a covered patio with string lighting, two chairs, and small table or a high top table with stools.

Welcome to the Carolina Frost Cabin, a beautifully restored cabin built prior to 1840. Relaxing inside-out living with a spacious screened-in porch. The interior features authentic antique furniture and exposed logs/beams while still providing all of the desired modern amenities. The cabin is conveniently located on Main Street in downtown Mocksville (one of the closest residential property to downtown restaurants, shopping, pubs, etc.).

The space
The cabin features a king size bed, stainless steel appliances, screened-in porch and a washer/dryer for your convenience. All towels and linens are provided.

The living room and bedroom are equipped with Smart TVs with Netflix or any other streaming apps available for use (you must use your own sign-in credentials). The living room includes a desk set up for your home-office needs.

The bedroom is complete with a king size bed, Roku TV, large closet, and private bathroom with tub/shower (there is a step to get into the tub/shower). There is a couch in the living room and air mattresses available for additional guests.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’d need for a weekend getaway or month-long stay - stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig, and more.

During the day, take advantage of charming and historic downtown Mocksville. There are excellent restaurants, shops, and bars/pubs. Other nearby towns/cities + attractions include:

Please use the driveway at the front of the property. Do not use the driveway at the back of the property. You'll have access to the entire property.

Other things to note
There is a camera on the back door of the screened-in porch for the safety and security of our cabin. The camera records both video and audio and is occasionally monitored to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. The camera is pointing outwards, and will only record motion and audio directly outside the back door. Please don't tamper with the camera.

No smoking and no pets inside the cabin.

The entire cabin, including all high-touch surfaces, are cleaned and sanitized and all linens and towels are laundered between each guest. If you need to wash linens or towels, feel free to use the washer/dryer and detergent pods provided.

Our lodge was originally a small cabin, built in the 1930's. It had been a fully equipped home minus most modern conveniences of course such as a/c, heating and gas Up until we were lucky enough to become the keepers of this property. It was kept in possession by the same family and in-laws and wasn't truly updated until the last few years when we bought it. All the stone fireplaces and foundation you will see is from the original beautiful rock from our local and Historic Hanging Rock area.

The Property itself is nestled back away from the road down a long private drive in the woods. We do have neighbors but no one is that close. So if you want the feeling of getting away to the middle of practically nowhere, but be able to get to all the local hangs of Downtown, Arts District, Reynolda Village and Gardens, Wake Forest University which is a mile away and major grocery stores like Lowe’s Foods and Harris teeter around the corner also including Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, in 10 min or less then you will enjoy staying here!

Beautiful views of oak trees and pines, and a great place to watch deer and sometimes see a few ground hogs foraging around. The cardinals and yellow finches are breathtaking and you are bound to have memorable mornings here sipping coffee or tea on one of our 3 beautiful stone porches!

The cabin has a special personality and loves to be admired and appreciated! We hope you leave your stay here feeling refreshed and treated well.

Guests will have access to main house and immediate surrounding grounds. Parking available in front of cabin. Please do not block the circle drive or park to the right of the kitchen. It can get very muddy in the rain and we are trying very hard to grow back the grass.

Also please be mindful of the property lines and don’t wander on to neighboring cabins property. You will notice a mowed line that boarders the property in front of the cabin and will signify the property line when you look closely.

Other things to note
If you are unable to manage multi level housing, this may not be the place for you. It has 4 levels on one side of the house where the bedrooms sit and small cluster of steps through out the house

This has been our home since the early 90's. It was a bit "tired" when we bought it. We expanded it as our boys grew and now we are happy to share the feeling of "ahhhh..." as you drive down the curvy driveway.

This is our house and we have known most of our neighbors fo decades so we are really sensitive to noise. WE STRICTLY ENFORCE A 10:00 OUTDOOR NOISE CURFEW.

The space
Our home is the product of who we are; an interior designer and a Realtor® who wants to be an architect. Featured in Winston Salem Magazine, this 3400 s.f. rambler is part log cabin and part cutting edge hi tech. Relaxing, peaceful, serene. We are in the middle of the woods yet ten minutes from downtown and a mile and a half from Wake Forest University. All mod cons including WIFI, cable, lots of parking. We built this house to relax in.

We live here when not accommodating guests. We have enjoyed our experience staying in other's homes around the world and thought we would share our place with fellow travelers We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Three bedrooms, two on the main level and two up plus four full baths make for an easy share situation for family or couples.

A WORD OF CAUTION
Our house has several small (one or two step) level changes and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues and children. Please make your fellow guests aware of these so their stay can be safe and care free. Also, please inquire if you have concerns or would like more information.

Our house can accommodate 10 people. The master is downstairs with a king size bed and full bath. There is another downstairs bedroom with a queen size bed and full bath as well. The upstairs has one bedroom and a bath with a shower. We call this upstairs room the bunk room. There is a queen bed and two twin beds on the main floor level. There is a loft with a ladder in this room. In the loft are two extra long twin beds. Young folks will be fine up here but need to be able to climb a ladder. The second bedroom upstairs has three twin beds and a bath with a claw foot tub.

We are dog friendly and happy to discuss our pet deposit policy.

Our outdoor porch as a lovely place to gather. We do ask that you keep the volume low out here as the topography really makes voices travel. We are in a quiet neighborhood so we like to be respectful of our neighbors. We have a small fire pit on the porch as well. Do be careful. We have a fireplace in the living room (currently it is not operable due to chimney issues 11/2021) and wood stove in the kitchen which we have just discovered to have an issue with the chimney. Old houses!!! We have a gas grill. The yard is large and rambling. Do keep and eye on your children.
