Welcome to the Sugar Nest, a cozy 6-bedroom, 3-bathroom cabin that is the perfect post-adventure retreat for a multi-generational family or group. It is immersed in a scenic mountain setting and conveniently located minutes from the slopes of Sugar Mountain Resort, with close access to everything the area offers. Come in the spring for the perfect temperatures while enjoying a cup of coffee or wine on our large wrap-around patio.

The entire property is newly renovated! Nestled in the lush trees, it features a large wrap-around deck with a hot tub, a giant Weber grill, and dining, lounging, and sitting areas. Plenty of Adirondack chairs circling the fire pit, and many outdoor games keep everyone entertained.

The home's inside features an open living area connected to the fully stocked kitchen and dining room for great entertainment. Expansive six bedrooms allow guests to retreat to their private spaces, and two queen pull-out couches for additional sleeping arrangements when needed!

Our guests are welcome to use all parts of the property. There are no shared spaces with other properties.

We have an electronic keypad for easy access to the home; you will receive the code up to 48 hours before your arrival.

One of the perks of being on Sugar Mountain is how close we are to the Sugar Mountain Resort. For a regular driver, you can be there in just about 7-8 minutes. Or if you drive like me, it's more like 5-6 minutes but comes with an additional few grey hairs!

Two king size beds, one queen size bed, and a set of bunk beds sleep eight guests. The newly renovated home includes central heat and air conditioning, rustic oak style flooring, new paint, a remodeled kitchen with stainless appliances and granite countertops, gas log fireplace, washer and dryer, wireless internet, cable HDTV in the family room and all bedrooms, and a gas grill on the deck. This is your home-away-from-home to fish, relax, and enjoy the many attractions of the Pisgah National Forest, Blue Ridge Parkway, and the North Carolina High Country, including Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Linville Caverns, Historic Banner Elk and Boone, and Tweetsie Railroad for the kids. The Cabin is not suitable for toddlers of crawling age to 3 years due to the pond behind the cabin, the steps on the side of the cabin, the upper deck with attached benches, and open stone fireplace with hearth that could present safety issues. We do not accept long term rentals (30+ days). We have two Ring cameras/flood lights on the premises, front walkway and Eagle side of backyard. Once guests notifies host that they have arrived, the front camera is turned off until the morning of departure. The back ring remains on due to the wildlife that frequents the property, but with no audio.

The space
Our fully furnished house has everything to suit your needs. It features a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, TV, Blu-ray player, WiFi & a deck with mountain views. Our TV has amazon prime for all free content, and Netflix. There are 2 queen beds in this house. One room has its private bathroom. The other bathroom is in the family/kitchen room area. The home can sleep up-to 6 people, but you will need an air mattress. This air mattress then can be inflated in the living room and we have installed window darkening blinds to create a sweepable area.

If traveling with families, your kids can enjoy the hill in the backyard for sledding, making snow angels, and also snow man. Kids also love going to Apple Hill a working farm. There are a bunch of gem mining locations to sift through dirt and find a rare blue sapphire.
Banner Elk downtown is 3 miles away. Great places to eat. Try the Banner Elk Cafe for breakfast before 11am. Excellent

You have access to: golfing, tennis, skiing, hiking, snowboarding, Ice-skating, snow tubing, white water rafting, fishing, wine tasting, which are all extremely close to the house. Less than 2 miles to all attractions. This house is in a wonderful location. Everything is truly very close.

We aren't just a premier winter sports destination; our area offers something spectacular in every season. In the winter, we are the place for incredible skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, tubing and ice skating. Spring, Summer and Fall offer great opportunities for hiking and biking on the Sugar Mountain Resort trails, scenic rides on the Resort chair lifts, golfing and tennis in the Village, and wonderful expeditions on the Blue Ridge Parkway and nearby Grandfather Mountain. In any season, enjoy local spas, shopping, performing arts, and a great selection of area restaurants. After a day of exploring the Sugar Mountain area, rest and rejuvenate in one of our many accommodations with a range of amenities and views, plus our signature Sugar Mountain hospitality.
You have access to 24 hour daycare which is 2 streets away so the parents can go out in Banner Elk and enjoy a night away from the kids. The daycare service can be provided on the mountain, or they will come to the house. All daycare workers are certified and work on the mountain all day babysitting in the daycare/nursery. Daycare service for nighttime hours need to be reserved before 12 noon of the day needed.
In the summer nights, every Friday, there is live music in Banner Elk. Lots of people from many different locations come to dance and listen to music. Great Time!

Welcome to Sugar Bear!

Sugar Bear is a charming 3BR log cabin near the top of Sugar Mountain, close to the ski slopes. Enjoy long-range mountain views, including the peaks of Grandfather Mountain. During the ski season, guests are within walking distance to the slopes of Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, less than half a mile or a short 3-mile drive to their main parking area and ski lodge. Enjoy "virtual slopeside" shuttle service! The Sugar Mountain Shuttle can pick you up at the cabin or the resort and drop you off at Sugar Bear or the slopes. Either way, you have virtual slopeside access to the ski slopes!

During the warmer months, enjoy the 18-hole golf course and the tennis courts, less than three (3) miles from the cabin on Sugar Mountain. Downtown Banner Elk is only five (5) miles away, with Lees McRae College, shopping, restaurants, and more. Grandfather Mountain and the popular Profile hiking trails are less than four (4) miles away, and Beech Mountain Ski Resort is an eleven (11) mile drive from Sugar Bear. The town of Seven Devils, with Otter Falls trail and the Hawksnest Snowtubing & Ziplines resort, is eight (8) miles from the cabin.

The towns of Boone and Blowing Rock are both about fifteen (15) miles away. Tweetsie Railroad Theme Park and Appalachian Ski Mountain are about nineteen (19) miles away. The village of Valle Crucis, with its riverfront community park and the original Mast General Store, is only fourteen (14) miles away. The Elk River is three (3) miles away, and the Watauga River is twelve (12) miles away. Watauga Lake is about twenty-five (25) miles. Linville Falls and Linville Caverns are both within twenty (20) miles of Sugar Bear cabin. Sugar Bear cabin is close and convenient to the High Country attractions and many more.

The main level of Sugar Bear boasts wood floors, antler chandeliers, and vaulted, tongue-and-groove ceilings, and exposed beams. The great room features a large HD Smart TV, leather furniture, and a floor-to-ceiling river rock fireplace with gas logs. The adjacent dining table seats six, plus two more on bar stool seats at the kitchen bar top, for a total of eight guests. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare and serve meals to a packed house. Guests can even enjoy the long-range views from the kitchen sink!

Two bedrooms and one full bathroom are on the main level. Both have an HD Smart TV, and one has a queen bed and a glass door leading to the rear deck. The second bedroom has two twin beds, exposed beams, and also has mountain views. The main level full bathroom is central to both bedrooms and the rest of the living area.

Upstairs is a cozy loft with an HD Smart TV, an Xbox game console with a handful of fun games, and a comfy sofa that opens to a queen bed. The master suite is a spacious bedroom featuring a king bed, vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, an HD Smart TV, an ensuite bathroom, and a glass door framing stunning mountain views and opening to a Juliette deck.

Sugar Bear features covered porches and open-air decks on the front, rear, and on both sides. The hot tub was added during the summer of 2020. The owners plan to continue upgrading this lovely cabin, so you may well arrive to find a few unexpected amenities. The open-air rear deck on the main level wraps around the side and has outdoor steps going down to the lower level rear deck and into the backyard. The rear deck has cushioned outdoor deck furniture and a stainless gas grill. The lower back porch also enjoys mountain views, has another table and chairs, and wraps around the far side of the house to another open-air deck. The covered front porch features a fun two-seat bench glider, a bistro table for two, and more outdoor seating. The front porch stretches the length of the cabin, leads out onto the open-air side deck and parking area, and curls around to the back deck.

A summary of the amenities includes a washer and dryer, a total of five (5) HD Smart TVs with digital streaming programming and internet TV, an Xbox game console with numerous games to enjoy, WiFi Internet, gas log fireplace, hot tub, and a year-round unobstructed long-range mountain top view.

Sugar Bear is a charming cabin with plenty of creature comforts and lots of fun stuff to do. In addition to the ski slopes, Sugar Mountain Resort has ice skating and snow tubing in wintertime. The Sugar Mountain Public Golf Course and tennis courts open during warmer months. Sugar Bear cabin is a fun, convenient, family-friendly place to enjoy your High Country vacation!

No guarantees on exact dates, but that is the game plan, and this note will come down once the upgrade is complete.

The only issue people may have is getting up and down the mountain in adverse weather as well as getting in and out of the driveway. It honestly wasn't an issue for us but could imagine it being difficult to get used to if someone hasn't ever navigated mountain terrain. Property management was extremely responsive. Would definitely return to this property."

When you envision a mountain vacation, this is it! This cozy cabin in the woods is cute as a button. Not too big, not to small, secluded feel, but not secluded at all! There's woodwork throughout, a stone front gas log fireplace, a cozy living/kitchen/dining space plus a sunroom with a wall of windows looking out into the woods. Come and stay One Day More in this beautiful Sugar Mountain cabin with stunning Grandfather Mountain views!

Enter the main level with just one step from the parking area. As you enter the great room, your eyes will be drawn up to the soaring cathedral-style ceiling with its exposed beams. To your left is a dining table with room for 8, and to your right is the kitchen with three bar stools around the granite island. Meals will be a joy to prepare in this well laid out kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. A few steps further into the cabin will lead you to relaxation in the new furniture arranged around the gas log fireplace and TV. There is also a half bath off the great room.

Two spacious master suites await on the main level. Off the kitchen is the King master suite. This room offers access to the deck and an ensuite bathroom with a jetted tub, separate shower, and granite vanities. On the other side of the home is the Queen master suite, with an ensuite bath featuring double granite vanities and a soaking tub with separate shower.

Down on the lower level is a cozy den with a TV and a ping pong table, the perfect place to enjoy some friendly competition. The couch here folds out to a queen size bed with memory foam mattress. Off this room are two more bedrooms and bathrooms. One bedroom suite has a Queen bed and attached bathroom with double vanities and a tub/shower. The fourth bedroom has two sets of Twin over Full bunks, and this bedroom has access to the hall bath with a tub/shower.

Step outside and breathe in the cool mountain air. Enjoy beautiful year-round views of craggy Grandfather Mountain while you soak in the (all new in November 2021!) Bullfrog Spas hot tub on the lower level! There is a firepit in the back yard as well, perfect for making smores during cool mountain nights.

This beautiful cabin is perfectly located only minutes from the slopes of Sugar Mountain for skiing and snowboarding, plus ice skating and snow shoe tours. In summer, enjoy the easy access to the Sugar Mountain golf course, tennis courts, mountain bike and hiking trails, and scenic lift rides. The town of Banner Elk with its wonderful shopping and dining is less than 10 minutes away, and the towns of Boone and Blowing Rock are a short and scenic drive away as well.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

This spacious 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2 car garage cabin, can accommodate up to 9 guests. Tree Top Lodge is a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom upscale log cabin atop Sugar Mountain, close to the ski slopes, snow tubing, and ice skating! The Sugar Mountain Ski Resort shuttle is available to drop you off at the slopes during the ski season. The pick-up spot is just down the road from the home.

Sugar Mountain is a year-round resort with all activities open to the public and available to anyone staying on Sugar Mountain. Golf and tennis are open May 1 – October 31, weather permitting. Spring through Fall includes an 18 hole golf course, clay tennis courts, mountain biking, and a restaurant.

Tree Top Lodge sits on a quiet, spacious, landscaped property, mostly-level and very usable. There is a nice wood-burning fire pit in the backyard and long-range, layered mountain views from the house itself. The attached garage is accessible to guests and adds to the generous parking, which is paved and level. Central heating and air conditioning, a washer and dryer, WiFi internet and digital cable TV programming, and numerous family-friendly touches such as a Pack & Play, puzzles and games, basketball goal, and more are just a handful of the conveniences and comforts at Tree Top Lodge.

The covered front porch stretches the width of the house and offers a quiet, comfortable spot to enjoy the mountain breezes from the porch swing. The cabin has wood floors, tongue-and-groove vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a stone fireplace with gas logs, a large HD Smart TV, and ample comfortable seating highlighted by a designer leather sectional and matching chair with an ottoman. Enjoy the natural sunlight which pours in from the windows and the mountain views visible from the great room.

The dining area is adjacent and open to the great room and boasts a beautiful antler chandelier. Accommodating ten (10) guests comfortably, the dining table itself can seat up to eight (8) guests, plus two (2) more at the counter-height bar stool seating beside the dining table. The kitchen is spacious and well-outfitted. The new owner has recently added custom lighting and shelving and high-end stainless appliances with a gas cooktop to complement the granite countertops and wood floors.

The master suite is on the main level, with a king bed, an HD Smart TV, and sliding glass doors to the open-air rear deck and the hot tub. Custom touches such as new furniture, light fixtures, and a solid wood track-style barn door make this a delightful primary suite. The full ensuite bathroom boasts a double vanity with a granite countertop, two under-mount sinks, and a large shower.

The expanded rear deck provides more outdoor living space, primarily for the deck furniture, including two loungers, two cushioned armchairs, and a sectional sofa. These are accented by side tables and sit under the shade of umbrellas. There is a gas grill, an outdoor dining table and chairs, and a large hot tub outside the master bedroom. This is a great place to enjoy the view and sunny days or relax at night under the stars after a long day on the ski slopes. There is a warm heater that can make those crisp, cool evenings much more comfortable.

Upstairs are two more large bedrooms, flanking each side of the house. One of the two upstairs bedrooms has a queen bed and a twin day bed with a twin trundle bed beneath. This bedroom can sleep up to four guests. The other bedroom has a queen bed and a comfortable armchair. Both upstairs bedrooms have individual year-round climate control, ceiling fans, large HD Smart TVs, and large windows to enjoy the mountain views Both upstairs bedrooms are generous in size, with wood accent walls and wood floors softened by area rugs. The central balcony, featuring a custom natural branch balustrade, is open to the great room and the impressive views. There is a full bathroom with a deep soaking tub and shower combo.

Downstairs provides direct access to the garage for convenience. A big bunk bedroom is on this level, with a custom, built-in, timber-framed bunk bed featuring a queen lower bed and a twin top bed. The twin bed is positioned perpendicularly above the queen bed below and set much higher than typical beds, allowing guests using the queen bed not to feel like they are in a bunk bed. This is a fun, flexible bedroom that can comfortably accommodate three (3) adults and children. A full bathroom with a tub and shower combo is accessible directly from the bunk bedroom. There is a charming den and game room with a slate pool table, a large wall-mounted HD Smart TV, and a cozy sitting area, including a full-sized jack-knife sleeper sofa, which can comfortably accommodate one more guest.

The front yard is level, nicely landscaped, with mature hardwood trees offering shade to the bird feeders and the meditation bench. The lower level has an exterior door leading to a rear courtyard beneath the deck above, to the paved parking area, where you can play basketball with the full-sized, adjustable basketball goal. Down the path in the backyard is the wood-burning fire pit with Adirondack-style chairs.

This modern cabin located in Sugar Mountain is ready to be your homebase as you explore the High Country. Sugar Ski Resort is only 2.5 miles away, or you can grab one of three shuttle stops near the home aboard the Sugar Mountain Shuttle Bus in ski season. In the summer, the course converts for mountain biking. The cabin is centrally located close to restaurants, grocery/ABC stores, downtown Banner Elk, Boone, and Blowing Rock.

Entry to the home is right off the parking, taking you directly into the lower-level den with game table (Foosball/Pool/Hockey/Table Tennis), TV, a table perfect for grazing during a night of entertainment, completed with two sets of twin over twin bunks. A full bathroom with a combination tub/shower and granite counters is off the den offering convenience to guests. Outfitted with games and books, the lower-level den is the perfect space for kids/teens to escape and have their own dedicated space. Attached to the lower-level space is the garage which offers a washer dryer and a second refrigerator/freezer for storing extra drinks and food.

On the main level, you will find a spacious and welcoming living room with ceilings that open to the loft overhead. A gas stove heater gives a cozy warmth to cool, mountain nights. Everyone can gather around the dining table that extends to hold 10 guests. Additional seating is at the raised bar. The kitchen is fitted with stainless steel appliances, granite counters, and an electric cooktop. Decks on both sides lead to the wrap around porch, enclosed with gates for added protection for your little loved ones. The brand-new hot tub, and table and chairs are outside. This adds the perfect touch for enjoying a morning coffee while you watch the deer graze or soaking and viewing the stars.

Two bedrooms are on the main level, each with an attached bathroom. The queen suite has a fan in the bedroom, remote workspace, TV, and a tiled shower and pedestal sink. Across the hall is a full bed, also with a ceiling fan. The attached bath has a tiled tub shower, marble vanity, and opens to both the bedroom and the hallway.

- "We had a great stay at The Farmer's Retreat in early July. We traveled to NC for the Highland Games and this cabin was such a nice and private escape from the hustle and bustle of the week. The location is very close to grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations, but feels like it off the beaten path. The place felt so comfortable like you were at home! We spent a majority of our time on the huge front porch enjoying the weather and comfortable patio furniture. The driveway is steep but there is a covered area that fit a large SUV and a gravel parking area that fit two additional cars off the driveway. Our customer service was exceptional. Michael responded quickly, checked in often, and addressed all of our needs to make our stay over the top. Please stay here if you are visiting the Banner Elk, Linville, Boone, Grandfather Mountain area!"

Welcome to Buckhorn Lodge, a gorgeous cabin atop Sugar Mountain!

Only minutes from the slopes, Buckhorn Lodge is a great destination any time of year. Take in the beautiful views from the decks, soak in the hot tub, or gather around the stone fireplace in the lower yard for a s'more fest!

There is garage access and only two steps to enter the home. Walk in to the living room with gas log fireplace and open kitchen. There is seating for two at the granite island, and the dining table holds eight comfortably. Three bedrooms are on the main level and three on the lower level. You'll find a king suite with TV, deck access, and fabulous tiled shower plus soaking tub. Across the hallway are two Queen bedrooms, each with a TV and ceiling fan. In the hallway is a second full bath with a tiled combination tub/shower. Near the garage entrance is the first laundry room and a large mud room, perfect for dropping off your gear!
Downstairs are the pool table, Pac-Man arcade, and working jukebox. A kitchen area with microwave and full size fridge are perfect for storing and making snacks. A second full kaundry room is downstairs, as well. There are two more king bedrooms, each with a TV. They each have access to a private sink and then a shared full bathroom with combination tub/shower. The final bedroom has two twin beds.

On the main level deck you'll have beautiful Mountain View's. Sit in the large rockers while someone cooks dinner on the grill with granite counters. Dine al Fresca or just enjoy a glass of wine with a table for four outside. The lower level deck has a large hot tub, ski-lift swing, and steps to the lower yard.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
- This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets into this home.
- Guests of the home need to observe quiet hours after 10pm. Please be respectful of the full-time residents.
- Firewood may be purchased for the fire pit by contacting us with at least a week's notice. You'll get two wrapped packs of kiln dried wood and a fire starter for $25 plus tax.
- The owners of this home use exterior cameras to monitor their property and ensure it remains safe. The cameras face the front/driveway area only and are not pointed at the interior of the home.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit.
Bookings canceled within 59 days of the arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest.
All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Sugar Mountain is a prime tourist destination with local dining, shopping, and parks. Enjoy fresh mountain air riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hikers of varying skill levels will enjoy the outdoors by hiking on one of the trails off the Parkway. Grandfather Mountain and the famous Mile-High Bridge are only seven miles away, where guests of all ages can enjoy the hiking trails and wildlife exhibits. Downtown Banner Elk, home to Lees-McRae College, is a seven-minute drive with local shopping and dining. Banner Elk Winery and Grandfather Vineyard and Winery are both about six miles from the Village of Sugar Mountain.

This cabin has an inviting, open living space with leather furniture, a wood-burning fireplace, and a wall-mounted Pac-Man 13-in-1 arcade machine. There are mini-splits in each bedroom and one in the main-level living area, providing year-round comfort with heat and air conditioning. Other things to note
Shop and relax in nearby downtown Banner Elk,(short 6 mile drive) or enjoy one of the many restaurants located in town. You are just a short drive to Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Beech Mountain, Valle Crucis, Boone or Blowing Rock.

It is highly recommended to bring a 4WD or AWD to access Sugar Mountain. During winter months we highly suggest bringing snow chains to assist.

Please note local authorities may ticket/fine for improper equipment (chains on tires during winter months)

When you envision a mountain vacation, this is it! This cozy cabin in the woods is cute as a button. Not too big, not to small, secluded feel, but not secluded at all! There's woodwork throughout, a stone front gas log fireplace, a cozy living/kitchen/dining space plus a sunroom with a wall of windows looking out into the woods. Enjoy the sun-soaked deck during the day and lounging around the fireplace at night! And while it feels secluded, the cabin is on Sugar Mountain, so it is very convenient to all activities, attractions and events.

Sugar Mountain Resort is just steps away from this condo, where you'll find an outdoor skating rink, snow tubing, mountain bike tours and a full golf course. There are plenty of restaurants close by, including The Pedalin’ Pig and Elevations Restaurant. Sightseeing is plentiful in this area as well, such as the Foggy Mountain Gem Mine, Mile High Swinging Bridge and Grandfather State Park.

The Birdhouse is a sweet and cozy round house that adjoins the Sugar Mountain Golf Course and only minutes to the ski slopes. This 2 bedroom 2 half baths and one full bath, level entry with zero stairs from the parking spot to the front door. Recently renovated with new appliances, floors, ceilings, light fixtures...ready to enjoy! Nestled in the trees for privacy yet conveniently located at the base of Sugar. 5 minutes to Banner Elk & 15 to Boone and 30 min to Blowing Rock.

The space
This is a cozy spot nestled at the base of Sugar Mountain, you'll have great views of the slopes right from your private hot tub. While Sugar Mountain is known for its skiing, we're a year round property welcoming guests from all over the world.

You'll love the touches we've put in for you and your guests to keep everyone comfy cozy and having a blast.

Kids and adults love the hand-hewn spiral staircase. It really feels like you're in a Disney storybook.

Other things to note
Ring cameras are located at the front door. They record video and audio but are not actively monitored. This is mostly for great bear footage.

The mountains are calling. Get away to our peaceful cabin on Sugar Mountain. Four bedrooms plus a game room. Two covered decks call for coffee outdoors daily. The cabin has 3 flights of steep stairs so not ideal for little kids.

20 minutes to Boone, 10-minute walk to the Sugar Mountain ski slopes, 15 minutes to Beech Mountain, 15 minutes to Grandfather Mountain, this location is in the center of it all. Feel a million miles away while still being a short jaunt to all local fun and adventure.

The space
Newly renovated kitchen and baths make this cozy cabin the ultimate place to get away from it all. Board games, two huge covered porches with hammock, it really doesn't get any better than this. Vintage modern decor sets this cabin apart.

Air conditioning unit in main living space. Rarely needed as even the summer nights are chilly on the mountain. Baseboard heaters for the winter.

Sugar Mountain is your new home away from home.

Please note. The stairs from the first floor to the second are a little steep. There are banisters but might be tough for someone with mobility issues or little kids and babies. There are no stairs to enter the first floor. In the winter, we have a snow plow service that plows our driveway when more than 3" falls. Town roads are well maintained by the Town. If you are not familiar with driving in the snow, you may be more comfortable in a 4WD or AWD vehicle.

This cozy, authentic log cabin is nestled on a large, peaceful wooded lot. Unwind in the hot tub on the back deck, gather around the fire pit on the front porch, or curl up by the wood-burning fireplace inside. Ideally located just minutes from Sugar Mountain Ski Lodge and nearby Banner Elk restaurants. A short drive takes you to Hawksnest Snowtubing, Grandfather Mountain with its mile-high swinging bridge, and an array of hiking trails and waterfalls.

The space
Features 2 bedrooms, one w/ a king bed on the 2nd level, and the other w/ a queen bed on the 1st level, AND an additional loft bedroom/sleeping area (“bedroom 3”) w/ twin-on-top/double-on-bottom bunk bed, & 2 full baths. We have 4 Roku TVs in the home, as well as great high speed internet. We have just added central heating and air. One well behaved dog accepted on a case by case basis with agreement to certain pet rules.

Outdoor fun includes a foot bridge over a babbling brook, old fashioned swing, hammock, and fire pit with 3 log seats. Stocked kitchen with Keurig and regular coffee makers (some Keurig pods included). Fire wood provided under the front porch. River tubes and kid fishing poles available for use.

In the snowy season, four-wheel drive and/or tire chains are needed to get up and down our driveway. Parking near the bottom of the driveway in the graveled parking space may be necessary during heavy snowfalls. We provide salt and a snow shovel for guests to use to clear the steps and driveway as needed.

One dog allowed on a case by case basis, depending on time of year and with a nonrefundable pet deposit. Must be crate trained for sleeping and when left alone at cabin.

Welcome to Byrd's Eye View on Sugar Mountain! This unique house is perfect for your mountain vacation. Conveniently located minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, and you can even take a walking trek to the top of Sugar! An easy drive to Boone and Blowing Rock.

Byrd's Eye View welcomes your furry family members as well. ($65 pet fee. Maximum of two pets allowed.)

The space
You have never seen anything like this place! Byrd's Eye View presents a modern mountain cabin merged with a Renaissance period feel due to the intricate stonework throughout the interior and exterior of the house. The back roof is dome-shaped and the front of the house is full of beautiful windows to connect you directly with the trees and mountain air. Bamboo flooring throughout. The fireplace heats the whole house and creates a perfect atmosphere for unwinding. The front porch is ideal for relaxing mornings with coffee and evenings with wine.

The kitchen is large and wide-open and fully stocked for your use. There is a washer and dryer on-site.

The downstairs bedroom has a Dream Cloud, Queen bed and is located behind the fireplace. Next door, is the downstairs full bathroom with a heated floor. Upstairs is the loft with a luxurious King-sized bed and a half bath that is part of the room. (This is a very European style!) The name Byrd's Eye View comes from looking out the cathedral window from the top of the stairs.

The two bedrooms provide sufficient space for four adults and the couches make comfortable sleeping spaces if needed. (Maximum of 4 adults allowed to stay overnight and maximum of 6 persons allowed at one time on the property.) Because of the stonework throughout the house, we feel Byrd's Eye View is most appropriate for children aged 9 years and older. (Exceptions can be made with parental consent.)

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is just up the road, where you will find a full ski mountain, an outdoor skating rink, snow tubing, mountain bike tours, summer ski lift rides, a public tennis court, and a full golf course. There are plenty of restaurants close by including The Pedalin’ Pig and Bella's Italian. Lowe's Foods and Food Lion are close by for grocery options. Downtown Banner Elk and Beech Mountain are fun mountain hangouts. Take an afternoon to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and visit downtown Blowing Rock for shopping and dining. Grandfather State Park is a must-see! (Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance.) And of course Boone and Appalachian State are just up the main drag!

Hiking is everywhere; from easy to strenuous. Again, just a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, especially over the Linn Cove Viaduct, is absolutely breathtaking.

This gorgeous three-story cabin features 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a finished basement. The main level offers 2 luscious bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and TV, alongside a bunk room with 4 twin-size beds just across the hall. A fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and living room with a gas fireplace, a plush couch, and seriously, the coziest blankets you've ever snuggled in (no, seriously that good!) that make this home perfect for relaxation. Upstairs, you'll find two more bedrooms, each with king-sized beds, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The cabin's basement is a haven for kids and teens with its TV and Nintendo.

In the mountains of Sugar Mountain, you'll discover the perfect hideaway. Ideal for an all-season adventure, Sugardaddy's is mere minutes from Sugar Mountain Resort's slopes! Beech Mt. Ski Resort and Grandfather Mountain are also nearby. During the warmer season, Grandfather Mountain State Park, the Mile High Swinging Bridge, and Blowing Rock are all less than 20 miles away.

Fueled by adventure and ready to relax, head back to Sugardaddy's and continue to enjoy marvelous views from the spacious balcony. When you get hungry, you can fire up the gas grill, or utilize the kitchen's updated appliances and ample meal prep space.

Comfortable for everyone, the four bedrooms and open living area are adorned with wilderness-themed mementos, soft linens, and central air. A private washer/dryer, DVD player, and board game collection wrap up the stellar list of interior amenities. Parking should also not be a problem, as the driveway although steep allows for two cars to comfortably park close to the home. Additionally, extra parking has been provided in front of the house with a gravel pull-off area by the street, complete with steps for direct access to the home.

As the sun begins to set over the gorgeous Sugar Mountain landscape, gather around the chiminea's dancing flames for s'mores and campfire stories.

Cozy Rustic Cabin is a classic 3-bedroom home on Sugar Mountain that can accommodate up tot 7 guests. Less than 3 miles from outdoor adventures including skiing, snowboarding, tubing, golf, and tennis, guests are sure to find a favorite activity. Vaulted ceilings with exposed beams adorn the the living room, and are carried through into the dining area and kitchen. The back deck offers a lovely place to relax and take in the mountain views. A hot tub creates a serene location to relax.

Cozy Rustic Cabin is a beautiful log cabin featuring an open concept main floor with clear sight lines from the living room to the kitchen, making for easy entertaining. The great room has exposed log walls and vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, giving the space a warm and cozy feel. Cozy Rustic Cabin is a newly built three bedroom, two bathroom home. The spacious master bedroom, located on the top floor, has a king bed, smart TV, and attached private ensuite. The ensuite has double vanities and a step-in shower. The main level has two additional bedrooms, both with king beds, that share a full hallway bathroom. The loft game room houses a sleeper chair that converts into a twin-size bed.

The cabin offers WiFi, central heating and air conditioning, and a washer and dryer. Up to two dogs are welcome on your vacation with an additional pet fee. Please be advised that there are exterior security cameras in place. A paved driveway leads to the parking area with room for three vehicles. AWD or 4WD is recommended for winter travelers.

Our mid-century modern style cabin was built in 1974 and renovated in 2021.
With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, our retreat can comfortably accommodate your family or group of friends. Unwind in the spacious living area, complete with a wood-burning stove, where you can gather around and enjoy the warmth and crackle of a cozy fire.

This 4 bedrooms / 2 bathroom roundhouse is a lovely base for your mountain getaway. Located right in the heart of Sugar Mountain, across from the ski slope. The kitchen is all yours to prepare a feast for the family. The fireplace will warm you up after a day of skiing . Step onto the wraparound deck to view the beautiful forest where you will watch the leaves change in the fall and the snow-covered slope in winter. Summer is a great time to play a round of golf at Sugar Mountain Golf Club.

Welcome to the Sugar Nest, a cozy 6-bedroom, 3-bathroom cabin that is the perfect post-adventure retreat for a multi-generational family or group. It is immersed in a scenic mountain setting and conveniently located minutes from the slopes of Sugar Mountain Resort, with close access to everything the area offers.

The space
The entire property is newly renovated! Nestled in the lush trees, it features a large wrap-around deck with a hot tub, a giant Weber grill, and dining, lounging, and sitting areas. Plenty of Adirondack chairs circling the fire pit, and many outdoor games keep everyone entertained.

The home's inside features an open living area connected to the fully stocked kitchen and dining room for great entertainment. Expansive six bedrooms allow guests to retreat to their private spaces, and two queen pull-out couches for additional sleeping arrangements when needed!

Our guests are welcome to use all parts of the property. There are no shared spaces with other properties.

We have an electronic keypad for easy access to the home; you will receive the code up to 48 hours before your arrival.

While the house sits on a relatively flat surface, roads leading to the house can be windy and narrow.

We are located on the mountain, and between November and March, a Four-Wheel Drive or all-wheel Drive car or tire chains are highly recommended.

Refunds will not be issued due to inclement weather. Please make sure to purchase travel insurance to avoid disappointment.
