Guest Reviews:

- "Such a wonderful stay. We saw a bear twice! Beautiful home close to amenities. Five star review!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️" - "Enjoyable" - "The property is wonderful with very nice, updated kitchen, baths, flooring, and furnishings throughout. It was really nice to sit on the screened porch during a rain storm too! Lot's to do nearby including a very nice hike up to Rattlesnake Lodge Trail." - "Amazing place" - "We had a wonderful 3-night getaway to lovely Weaverville and Asheville in March 2023. The property was gorgeous. We loved the two creeks coming together in the backyard. Seriously love the sound and scenery of rocky waterfall streams 24/7. The fire pit was the nicest I have EVER enjoyed…and I have enjoyed a lot of fire pits! (Dozens). The house was VERY well stocked with all sorts of supplies. Fortunately we were able to leave most of them for the next guests as we had brought our own TP, trash bags, dish soap, etc. The beds were comfy. The fireplace was very warm on the cold 13-degree nights. (Hint: to turn it on, don’t do anything other than flip the switch to “on” on the back left corner.) Highly recommend!!! PS there is no cell service, so enable your wi-fi. The wi-fi worked well for us."

Cozy Backyard Log Cabin/Great Sunsets/10 min North of Asheville/easy access
Cabin
Weaverville, North Carolina, USA

Enjoy this restored log cabin with King loft, 1.5 baths (shower/no tub), fully furnished kitchen, breakfast room & den. Jotul woodstove for rentals during Winter months, firewood provided. Great sunsets from back porch. Wifi, Roku with many popular streaming stations. Separate entrance & separate parking from owners in main house. Hosts have friendly golden retriever, a Griff, (both will show up on your porch to greet and possibly hang out with you, so if you don't really like dogs, you'd probably be happier at another property), and a 12-year old that play in shared backyard. Mini-split heating and air system for individual room control. 10 minutes to Navitat Canopy Tours (coolest zip lines around!), 20 minutes to hike on the Appalachian Trail at Sam's Gap area, 10 minutes to French Broad River, 15 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway, 12 miles to Wolf Laurel Ski Resort and snow tubing, 10 minutes to great restaurants, art, clubs, people-watching, etc... in awesome Asheville. 5 minutes to quaint downtown Weaverville or Mars Hill, location of Mars Hill College. Cabin located 1 minute off Interstate I-26.

We are 10 miles on Interstate 26, door to door, from our rental cabin to downtown Asheville.

The pull-out sofa will sleep two, but when in use, it limits access to the kitchen to about 1 foot (see photo). You can access the kitchen via the back porch, but that's a chilly awakening in Winter months (although it's only about 6 steps outside and back inside). we also provide two twin aero bed air mattresses including bedding (see photo).

We have nice (close proximity) neighbors to the right of our home, nobody on the left that you'll see, and there is a quiet neighborhood across the street that has good hills for walking exercise. Jupiter Rd. is a fairly busy county road. Pay attention when exiting the driveway.

- "The Laurel Mountaun retreat was so peaceful, a welcome respite from my travels. I debated staying in Asheville, and I'm glad I chose a quiet place around farms and the hills. The cabin is nicely curated and stocked with everything you would need, including a hot tub and laundry. The bed was very comfortable. I loved sitting on the porch in the rocker or swing, listening to the birds and watching for deer and bunnies. I travel a lot, and I loved staying here. I would definitely come back again. Also, Weaverville had some fun shops and great local coffee shops."

Lovely cabin on 136acre, 13 Miles from North Asheville. 6 miles from BR Parkway
Cabin
Weaverville, North Carolina, USA

Lovely 1970’s hand built log house only 18 min (13 Miles) from Asheville. The drive into home is very easy and open, not like many rentals in the area. Cabin is snuggled between three mountains on 136 acres of Farm Land and Forest. Note this a working farm. We rent the house vacation rental (some of the year) to continue to keep the original farm and keep in good shape for the future. We also have listing 485621. Check out life in a quite farm setting. Away from the crazy of the city. There are open fields around the house and a creek just bank in front of cabin.
*Christmas is here Nov 1 - Jan 3rd*

Guest Reviews:

- "My friend flew down from Boston and I drove up from Atlanta to spend catch-up time together. We were overjoyed with the cabin, the farm setting, the view from the porch and the hospitality of our host. We kept saying we had made a perfect choice. The very best part, though, was sitting, talking, eating breakfast and dinner and watching the hummingbirds every day from our perch (rocking chairs) on the lovely porch. We couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable and leisurely respite from our city living. We are both grateful."

- "We had a great time!! Enjoyed watching all the fireworks from the top of the hill! Amazing! Love Asheville!" - "The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. The property has excellent views and a very private feel considering how close it is to downtown Weaverville and Asheville. The cottage is cozy and well equipped with anything you could need. The hot tub is very private and perfect for 2-3 people. There is a nice back sunroom and porch that we were very pleasantly surprised to find. The cottage is an easy 12 minute drive to downtown Asheville."

Classic Log Cabin 15 minutes to downtown Asheville-fire pit, pond, fireplace
Cabin
Weaverville, North Carolina, USA

It's a great time to visit Asheville! While the area recovers from Tropical Storm Helene there are fewer visitors than normal so it is easy to park and explore downtown. Many locals love this chance to be tourists in our own town as we support local businesses.

Fox & Crow Cabin is a great place to unwind in the comfortable clean cabin, enjoy the songbirds from the rocking chairs on the front porch, grill and dine outside on the private deck, and share stories around the firepit. Step inside to cozy up in the living room by the gas fireplace, play board games, read, take in the local art pieces throughout the cabin, or get cooking in the full kitchen before you head out and explore!

The king-sized beds in each bedroom, with organic cotton sheets and blackout curtains, will help you get a great night’s sleep.
Your host, Kellie, makes your packing list easy by providing many basics and then some. Kellie loves to leave locally made treats so you can experience the tastes of Asheville. Sip on locally roasted coffee, discover the delight of local hand-crafted popcorn, and sample various area craft beverages.

Fox & Crow Cabin sits just a couple miles outside the quaint town of Weaverville, NC. This 2-bedroom, 2-bath vacation rental is ideal for retreats with loved ones. Asheville is just 10 miles away, where you’ll find fun for everyone.

Weaverville has a quaint Main street with restaurants, galleries, and shops. Weaverville has free parking and is very walkable. Some favorite stops are Well-Bred Bakery, Maggie B's Wine & Specialty Shop, Blue Mountain Pizza, Eluvium Brewing Co Leveller Brewing Co Allgood Coffee, Twisted Laurel, Magnum Pottery, Miya Gallery, Yellow Mug Coffee Lounge, Lion Dog Lounge, Glass Onion, and more!
On Weaver Blvd. you will find grocery stores (Ingles, Publix & Aldi), fast food restaurants, and the Walmart shopping area. The Weaverville Ingles Grocery store has an impressive beer selection including many local brews.

Quintessential Private Log Cabin with New Hot Tub
Cabin
Alexander, North Carolina, USA

The French Broad River Log Cabin is waiting for you to spend your next vacation! This private retreat is nestled on 4 private mountain acres. It is great for a couple who wants a cozy romantic get away with their sweetheart or for a family vacation with the kids. The stone wood burning fireplace will immediately invite you sit and relax with a good book. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook up a fabulous meal. If the outdoors is what you seek, look no further than the rocking chair front porch or deck with hot tub, where you can relax and listen to the roar of the river below. No matter what the occasion, you will enjoy the rustic luxury of this special place.

Other things to note: The cabin is located a half mile up a mountain gravel road. It is not very steep but there are some old raised concrete areas. You can access the cabin with a front wheel drive car, however rear wheel drive vehicles have had a more difficult time. In winter months, we recommend a AWD or all wheel drive car, this is best to have if there is snow or ice in the area. Maintaining a constant pace up the road is best, if you stop and are not in 4WD or AWD you can spin. You will see 2 large boulders on either side of the driveway, if you like you can drive past the driveway and back your car into the driveway.

Dogs are allowed under certain conditions. We have a 2 dog maximum, and we ask that all dogs that come to the cabin are up to date on their flea and tick medication and stay off the furniture. A $50 per dog per stay fee applies.

Due the cabin being on well water, we recommend bringing bottled water to drink.

We require a 5 night stay over the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years holidays.

We are the actual owners of this property. We live in the area and will be available to assist you in any way possible during your visit.

- "The cabin was an authentic log cabin experience- quaint and cozy. It was situated above a beautiful river that you could hear. The wood burning fireplace was a treat! It was a short 15-20 minute drive to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore. June was very pleasant and easy to work with. Loved our stay!" - "We wanted to slow down and enjoy some time away from everything but be close enough to get to sites. This was perfect. Very close to Asheville but also close to small towns with great shops. We enjoyed the hot tub, views, quiet evenings and of course, the 497 piece puzzle. Took us a while but it was fun. Enjoying our meals on the porch was so peaceful. We felt like we were worlds away at this place. No people, no noise, no nothing. It was perfect. It was exactly as advertised. Great place to make family memories."

- "The property was very nice. Felt like you were in a tree house with all the views. Well furnished and comfortable. Hot tub was great and the small fire features near the hot tub and down a small path were also nice touches. Grill worked well. Would stay here again!" - "Our stay was lovely, home is very comfortable and secluded. We loved the flip on fireplace and the hot tub, kitchen was well equipped. King bed was comfortable but the trundle bed needs to be replaced, mattress too thin. The extra large deck was splendid for outdoor time. A heads up that the road up to property is very steep and one lane only so take care coming and going. Plan to arrive before dark as it’s a bit hard to find. This property is about 20-25 mins from downtown Asheville and it’s a pretty drive. The whole area is bucolic and gorgeous with spring coming on."

Uniquely crafted Tiny-cabin retreat with Hot Tub and Sauna
Cabin
Weaverville, North Carolina, USA

This home was built in 2019 by an expert craftsman with the vision of making it cozy and spacious with sweet artistic details and lots of care and love. The home is 300 sq feet but feels much more grand inside. You will be nestled on 14 pristine acres of forest, with two decks, your own personal private hot tub, and a spring fed creek not too far down the driveway. There is a gas fireplace outdoors on the porch, and an outdoor fire pit for your use as well. The house has a queen size bed in the upper loft, a large twin day bed on the first level, and an extra loft with camping mats if needed above the day bed. The house can comfortably sleep 3 and up to 4 or 5 especially if a couple of them are children or petite people. The house has a full kitchen and bathroom, living room area and two lofts. For now there is a composting toilet that is easy to maintain and we are happy to help you with it if you’re on the land for more than a few days. The main house is about 30 yards up the hill, and although somewhat close, you will have plenty of privacy. We are close if you need us, but we try to give all of our guests ultimate privacy. The house is under a huge magnolia tree, so it stays shaded in the summer and quite cool. There is an AC unit and heaters in the house as well.

There is a personal hot tub, which is screened in, and located on the front deck of the house now (updated photos coming soon!). You will love it! There is a back deck that is only for meditation, yoga, and bird watching, and we ask that folks stay silent on the back deck if they use it.

If anything is needed down at the house we are available. Much of the time there is a massage therapist on site, so if you are interested in getting Bodywork please just inquire about prices and availability. There is also a wood-fired sauna, so if you would like to sauna please let us know.

And an added bonus is that you are only 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and LOTS of great hiking, great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, art galleries and more. Asheville is 15 minutes from the tiny cabin and Weaverville is 10 minutes away.

This is not a place for parties. Our neighbors are about 200 yards down the hill so we try to respect their privacy and keep it quiet. That is why we have made the back deck a retreat/silent deck. Maximum of 4 guests.

- "If you are looking for a place to rest or explore while being close to nature with convenience, this is the perfect place to stay. Kellie and her family were great communicators, mindful to give me privacy and yet the thoughtfulness in developing her tiny home and property could be seen and felt. The location can’t be beat, the surrounding forest is peaceful and drive to the property is beautiful and easy. Close to all the Blue Ridge has to offer as well as shops, dining, hiking ect. I look forward to visiting Kellie and her tiny home for as long as she lists!!"

The creek was a blast for the kids and the location made it easy to get to so much. Book it ASAP. It’s a winner." - "Beautiful place, very clean" - "Larry and Teresa are great hosts. Communication was always clear and courteous. The Ox Creek coach house is really charming and set in a great location. There are beautiful farms, deer, turkey in the immediate area, the blue ridge parkway is right around the corner, wonderful hiking is all over the area, and a great family owned restaurant, The Stoney Knob, is very close by. The accommodations in the coach house are very comfortable and easily housed our group of five. This was my first trip to the area and staying here made it enjoyable for everyone. - "It was a great cabin out in the woods for a group of friends. We had plenty of space inside and outside to hang out. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked (though it would be nice to have some bigger mixing bowls!). The hot tub is covered which makes for a nice area. Would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a getaway with friends/family." - "Spent a few days here with family. Very quiet home that sits on top of the hill overlooking the mountains. It was spacious enough for 7 people with beds to spare although 5 people sharing 1 bathroom upstairs was a bit tight. The host was extremely helpful and transparent and responded right away. Would highly recommend staying here and will be back again in the future"

Guest Reviews:

- "We truly enjoyed ourselves at the Coach House, especially the little creek that ran through the property. I loved all the windows in that space and nobody felt congested- bathroom was quite big enough. The layout was just as it needed for small families but would also be great for family groups or friends to rent out the whole house. One downside, it was a little dusty- I think since it wasn’t rented a while prior and were quite a bit of spiders (daddy long legs). Other downside was exposed water heater in bathroom along with underside of flooring- which could’ve been where the spiders coming from. Easy fixes, other than that everything was great and relaxing and would really look forward to staying again!"

We recommend only bringing one vehicle to Rivertime, and to be prepared to turn the vehicle around in a tight space at the bottom. Note that GPS is incorrect for this address, and will take you to the wrong location. Please read over (and print!) our written driving directions before departing on your trip and let us know if you have any questions.

Tiny "Black Bear" cabin minutes from Asheville
Cabin
Woodfin

Nestled in the woods, "Black Bear" cabin offers the best of both worlds. A relaxing country retreat yet close to everything. It is the perfect starting point to a downtown Asheville excursion, just 15 minutes away, and to an endless array of outdoor activities in the Blue Ridge Mountains. 3 miles away is the charming town of Weaverville with its quaint atmosphere, artisan shops and distinctive restaurants.
(For sights and hikes and their distance from the cabin, please check "The Neighborhood")

The space
"Black Bear" is a 300 square feet cabin. Too small for comfort? Absolutely not! The open layout, large windows and sloped ceiling make the space feel bigger than it is. Yet it feels cozy and intimate. The covered porch adds a comfortable outdoor living space that you can enjoy in all seasons.
The cabin sits on a 5.6 acres property, about 120 feet down from our house and 50 feet up from our other cabin "Arrowhead" (See below Other things to note). However, the homes are oriented in such a way that your privacy is guaranteed.
Among the necessaries provided for your comfort: a simple but well equipped kitchen with a counter high refrigerator with chiller compartment, a two-burner cooktop, a microwave, a Breville toaster oven and a Keurig coffee maker with a full tray of complimentary k-cups. A separate bathroom with a shower. Most of the furniture is handmade with reclaimed wood.

Guest access
Uber and Lyft are not always available. From recent guests' experience, it looks like they are more available during the day than in the evening.

Other things to note
Check out our other listing, "Arrowhead" cabin, twin sister of "Black Bear", about 50 feet down from it.

Please be advised that in case of snow, a AWD is necessary to come up the driveway. Snow events mainly happen in January and February, but they are not frequent at our elevation (around 2,200 ft)

A large part of our driveway is gravel. Despite our best efforts to maintain it, it is uneven and bumpy in spots, due to the washing away caused by heavy rains.

Please do not book for someone else if you don't intend to stay at the cabin. It is against Airbnb policy.

Magical Treetop Cabin Near BR Parkway & Asheville
Cabin
Western North Carolina

Cozy up by the fire and relax in the trees at this peaceful and uniquely decorated cabin! This beautiful space has a lovely wood burning stove, two outdoor decks, hammocks, and an outdoor fire pit. The cabin features original Southern artworks, handmade quilts, RokuTV (bring your passwords), and stylish and inviting decor. It's conveniently located in a secluded mountain cove just 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 10 minutes to downtown Weaverville, and 20-25 minutes to downtown Asheville.

The space
We are so happy to share this special place with our guests. We know that you will love this gorgeous mountain cabin located in a woodland paradise! Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck among the trees and then spend the day exploring nearby panoramic mountain views, amazing hiking trails, and other outdoor activities (rafting, kayaking, ziplining, tubing, skiing, etc.), and return to relax in a hammock under the stars at night! Or use one of the many available spaces for remote work during the day and spend afternoons and evenings exploring all the awesome outdoor and dining options wonderful area has to offer.

This cabin is located at approximately 3000 ft. in a very peaceful and scenic mountain community, yet it is fully equipped with wifi and is easily accessible to the incredible Blue Ridge Parkway, cute Weaverville, and exciting Asheville! This is the perfect home base for exploring the unique high-altitude areas of the Blue Ridge Parkway, such as Craggy Gardens and Mount Mitchell (the highest peak east of the Mississippi). Open the windows and doors and enjoy the cool summer nights (there is AC but you won't need it!) and cozy up next to the wood stove in winter!

With an open floor plan, two queen bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a comfy pull-out sofa bed, this is a great setup for a family, a group of friends, or a couple that wants a little extra space. Beds boast green tea-infused into pressure-relieving anti-allergy memory foam and all cotton 800-count bedsheets. Bathrooms feature shower/bathtub combo and luxury towels.

Remote working really works well in this cabin with +100mb/sec wifi and several fabulous options for workspace: at the desk in the primary bedroom, on the rear deck at our picnic table or covered cushioned sitting area, the very private side deck, the window-covered dining room, or at the coffee table that lifts and converts to a laptop desk in the central living room.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire home and property. The cabin is perfect for couples, families, friends, and even business travelers.

Other things to note
Please note that we are environmentalists who strive to live in harmony with our woods, and therefore do not spray for bugs. We abut a massive pristine area with all creatures great and small. Luckily we don't have any roaches but you may see an occasional harmless ladybug or moth, or harmless spider, inside or outside the cabin, as well as evidence of a harmless creature. If this is a problem for you then you might want to look somewhere else.

Part of the road leading to the house and driveway is gravel. If you are not used to driving in the mountains then it might be a bit of an adventure the first time, but you can make it in a regular car. An AWD/4WD is NOT necessary unless there is snow on the ground in winter. Most of the winter we do not have snow BUT we can get a few inches a few times per winter. The roads are not treated and since it’s the mountains the roads are also steep and curvy so ice and snow can be tricky. If it snows and you do not have a AWD/4WD you might have to park a little down the road and walk up the driveway (a 3 minute walk total) so if you are coming in winter please be prepared for this possibility and plan to bring proper footwear and arrive before dark. If we are home we are happy to help you with your bags! If snow is predicted during your stay please stock up prior since you might get stuck for a couple of days until the roads clear.

The use of the fire pit is at your own risk.

This is a family home located in a quiet mountain neighborhood. Out of respect for our neighbors and surroundings, there is absolutely NO PARTYING ALLOWED. Quiet hour is requested after 9pm. It is fine to talk outside in a quiet tone after this time but we request that you refrain from loud music or yelling. Thanks for your understanding!

Amenities:

Garden view • Body soap • Cleaning products • Free washer – In unit • Conditioner • Shampoo • Hair dryer • Hot water • Shower gel • Bathtub

Approximately .7 mile of the road is gravel, and if you are coming from a place where every road is flat and paved, the gravel road may seem intimidating and it would be recommended that you drive a vehicle with AWD or 4WD. However this is not absolutely necessary as we have a 2WD Ford Escape Hybrid and the cleaning lady has a Toyota Prius, both of which make the drive to the cabin several times per week! Trust me, the drive is well worth the views!!

Other things to note
Please note not all cell phone providers have great reception at the cabin. Verizon users will have no issues at all, ATT customers will have a difficult time getting reception both at the cabin, and throughout the rest of the Asheville area in general. We do provide free wifi which will provide you the ability to do Facetime and send text messages if you are unable to get a cell phone signal. In the event of an emergency, please know that due to federal law 911 will always connect regardless of what kind of cell reception you have!
