- "Just a little over a week, my family checked into the Suite Sixteen for a family vacation. The house is beautiful! I saw the pictures and loved it but the reality was so much more than our expectations. I was in awe walking in and seeing it. The main floor has a gorgeous and very spacious living room with fireplace and a huge dining table and open kitchen, plus office and TV room. All the wood pieces, all the unique decors, all the details and equipment in the kitchen, just impressed. They truly thought of everything, you can cook a Thanksgiving dinner there! All the bedrooms were set up so comfortably, with plenty of blankets, pillows, even charging stations in every room. There is a little heaven for kids with the game room, my teenager was in his world, so was my 7 year old. The outdoor area on the deck with a sauna and the screened porch were just a perfect spots for peace and relax. We all loved the fire pit surrounded by the trees. This place is just a perfect family spot, all agreed from grandparents to the youngest daughter. It truly is a piece of heaven in the mountains. You feel alone and in one with the nature, yet close to so many different places n things to do. It really is a perfect place for a family vacations, couples gatherings or girls/guys trip. - "We have been visiting Sapphire for years and always rented nice cabins. This one was something else! There wasn’t a single thing we didn’t love about it! The location, layout and host responsiveness are all exceptional. But I was also very impressed with the little things which are all so well thought through! The kind of things other high end cabin rentals often lack. Here are a few that come to mind: tea cattle, sharp utensils, glass dishes (as opposed to that plastic we often see) in sufficient number, nice glasses, champagne glasses, a surprise bottle of champagne, good quality soaps and washing liquids, ample supply of dishwasher detergent and laundry pods, modern washer and drier, nice smelling candles, well setup sound system throughout the house, very soft and abundant blankets, great pillows, good quality bedsheets with linen comforter, hot water in the shower (the lukewarm water that some cabins set is one of my pet peeves), great working nice TVs which allow you to log into your apps but also have pre-logged in account from the owner. The list is literally endless. We absolutely loved the cabin and will most definitely be back!"

This large, open floor plan cabin is perfect for family gatherings but is also great for a romantic get-away for two. The cabin sleeps 8 adults very comfortably. Maximum occupancy (total number of persons staying in or using the premises at any time) of 8 persons, any combination of adults and children. There is plenty of room to set up our full-size commercial crib and/or any portable sleepers you bring.

The master bedroom upstairs has a KING size bed & GAS FIREPLACE. The two guest bedrooms upstairs each have a queen size bed. There is a private sleep area downstairs with a queen size bed. Four beds total, one king and three queen size. If additional sleeping space is needed, there is a queen size leather fold out sofa downstairs (making 5 beds total) and a commercial size wooden crib for a baby (mattress, protector and sheets provided). There is plenty of room in any of the three bedrooms upstairs or in the downstairs area to set up the commercial size crib we provide or to set up your own child sleep area.

Guests frequently comment on the surprise they get when they first arrive at the cabin and encounter the spectacular views. There is always something new and different to see as the days pass and the weather changes. No need to take a long, difficult uphill hike to get a fantastic view -- just sit on the back decks. The lights across the valley at night are magical. There is a waterfall view and long-range view across the Divide Valley into South Carolina from the back decks. The cabin is on 4.2 acres and there are only 4 residences on our street with huge lots for privacy. There is no traffic except for our neighbors and occasional maintenance and public safety routine checks. The cabin is close to numerous restaurants, the Sapphire Valley Resort, and numerous outdoor activities.

The upstairs is the main living/sleeping area with 3 bedrooms and two full baths. The downstairs is a spacious recreation area with home theater, card table, large wet bar, full size refrigerator, and lots of open space for children. The downstairs also has an additional private sleep area with a queen size bed. There is a full bath downstairs. The leather sofa downstairs folds out to a queen size bed, making 5 beds total if needed.

The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook in and enjoy family.

Escape to an amazing area of the country. Take in so many adventures and excursions in the "Land of Waterfalls", but only if you wish. You can also stay close to the cabin and enjoy the 4.2 acres of privacy, enjoy the waterfall from the back decks, wonder at the fantastic long-range views, or walk through the wonderfully developed equestrian community, The Divide at Bald Rock. Our subdivision has its own access to the Panthertown National Forest.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF OUR CABIN AND AMENITIES OFFERED:

Nestled in the gated community of The Divide at Bald Rock and includes access to all amenities of the Sapphire Valley Master Association (a nominal fee of $5 per person per day or $25 per person per week for access to all amenities) restricted to pass holders only. The property is private and secluded. Sitting at 3850 feet above sea level on 4.2 acres. The cabin was custom built.

WORK REMOTELY. Free Wi-Fi is included on AN ULTRA HIGH SPEED BROADBAND along with office set up: desk, computer, monitor, printer, copier, scanner. Use the PC for team meetings. Wi-Fi calling on your cell phone works great!

The cabin sleeps 8 adults comfortably in one KING size and three queen size beds (each with privacy). In addition to the FOUR BEDS, there is a queen size sleeper sofa on the lower level (to make 5 beds total). A full-size folding crib (not a portable crib or play pen) is provided for set up in any of the bedrooms or downstairs sleep area. A 5" thick safety crib mattress, mattress protector, and crib sheets are provided. There is plenty of room to set up your own portable sleepers.

MAIN LEVEL:

The upper level of the cabin has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The cabin has wood flooring throughout with the exception of the tile bathrooms.

The master bedroom has a stone gas FIREPLACE, walk in tile shower, walk in closet, and private door to the large wrap around deck. The KING size bed has a top-rated Nectar Premier Copper Gel Memory Foam mattress with heat-conducting cooling fibers.

The great room has cathedral ceilings, large windows for the amazing views, an oversized stone WOOD BURNING FIREPLACE. Wood is provided under the front porch. YOU MUST PURCHASE KINDLING TO START THE FIRE.

The kitchen has granite countertops and stainless appliances and is fully stocked. Gas cook stove, convection toaster oven with 6 slice capacity, dishwasher, microwave, and all necessary small kitchen appliances are available (all the expected cooking appliances plus a full-size Kitchen Aide mixer, waffle maker, griddle and large roasting pan). Coffee Station with full pot and Keurig brew options is provided. A bean grinder is provided. Stocked with 12 place settings and extra silverware and all the cookware / bakeware you might need for your family and friends' feasts.

An oversized Maytag washer and dryer are available in a separate laundry room closed off from the rest of the cabin for quietness.

The two guest bedrooms are on the upper level and share a full bath. Each guest bedroom has a queen size bed with memory foam mattress.

DOWNSTAIRS:

The lower level has a SONY 75" theater room, surround sound stereo system, cedar bar fully stocked with glassware, bar sink, card table and chairs, full bath/shower/sink and full-size refrigerator.

The theater room has a leather wrap around sofa with three recliners built in that seats six comfortably. An additional leather recliner and an additional three-seat leather sofa is also provided. You can gather the entire family in this area! The three-seat leather sofa folds out to a queen size sleeper. Linens for the fold out are provided.

WORK REMOTELY. 3 desks, free Wi-Fi on BROADBAND NETWORK, PC, monitor, printer, copier, scanner downstairs. Use the PC for team meetings. Turn your cell phone to Wi-Fi calling for best reception.

A sleeping area is provided downstairs with a queen size bed and partition for privacy. There is a full-size bath downstairs.

A cedar top card table will accommodate 4 - 6 players. A full set of golf clubs is provided as a courtesy. Please replace lost balls in the bag.

The pools, hot tubs, saunas, game room, mini golf, skiing, and many other activities are located at the Sapphire Valley Resort just a 10-minute drive from the cabin. There is not a fire pit on the property because it is adjacent to a 6,000-acre national forest and the property is heavily wooded.

NOTE: Sapphire National Golf Club is temporarily closed. Red Bird 9-hole is open. Public courses nearby.

Pets must be constantly monitored, walked frequently, and never left alone in the cabin unless crated or in the closed HVAC room (climate controlled). Pets are not allowed on any bed at any time, so please plan to bring a bed for them.

- "All went very smoothly" - "We have stayed in the Cashiers area during the July 4th holiday for the last 5 years . By far, we enjoyed our time in this home as much or more than any with its amazing views. The home was very well appointed with all we needed during our 7-night stay. The views from the back porch were amazing and among the best of the homes we have rented in the past. Daily afternoon rain showers were showcased by a beautiful rainbow reaching down into the valley. One small challenge was promptly addressed by the property manager. Overall, the property met our expectations. The only small exception might be the bed in the bottom floor. It has limited privacy and the bathroom for that bedroom is adjacent to the theater room. This did not prove to be a problem for us as my son and daughter in law used this floor as their personal suite! It also made it easier for them as their dog stayed in the utility room as requested which is right by the bedroom area downstairs with direct access outside. We would recommend this property to anyone that is interested in gorgeous views, nice amenities at Sapphire Resort and a quick commute to most areas of interest."

- "We visited near the end of June and it was chilly and raining every day! (Who new NC was a temperate rain forest?!) Even though one of the reasons I rented the cabin was for the awesome view, it was very peaceful to be tucked into the clouds as well! And coming home to this beautiful cabin after a day of adventures (wet and cold) made it that much more enjoyable! The cabin makes you feel at home and has everything (and more!) that you’ll ever need! Sitting under the covered deck with a fire going and making s’mores at the end of a long day was my favorite part. Or was it sitting at the makeup table getting ready watching some of the mountains peak out from behind the clouds? Or maybe it was the open concept kitchen/living area where family memories were made? Everything was so beautiful I wouldn’t be able to pick just one favorite! We appreciate getting to spend time in this wonderful home and would definitely love to come back! You won’t be disappointed staying here!"

PROPERTY UNHARMED BY HELENE (11/5): At the end of our private gated gravel road after a short drive through United States Forest you will find nine of the most beautiful acres in western North Carolina. The Property was formally operated as "Sweet Water Fly-Fishing Lodge" and has level access to the Thompson River, known for it's Brown Trout fishing and occasional wild Rainbow Trout. Waterfalls are directly reachable from the cabin's front door.

This cabin is for families, hikers, trout fly-fisherman, hunters, and people looking to trade the stress of civilization for nature, beauty, and fresh air.

Our nine acres includes a cabin located on a large mountain meadow surrounded in all four directions by US Forest Land and the thousands of acres of Nanthala National Forest. The Thompson River flows directly beside the cabin. In other locations the Thompson River is mostly unaccessible by vehicle and typically only accessed by fisherman after a lengthy hike. Our property is one of the few spots on the Thompson River accessible by vehicle. Both sides of this level trout river are private property for our renters exclusive use.

Our property includes four "trout holes" and rough trails into Federal Forest Land for fishing, hiking, and exploration. Adjoining the property, a ten-minute walk from the cabin's front door is “White Owl Falls”, a thirty-foot waterfall and swimmable lagoon accessible from our property's private hiking trail. Down river accessible from our property is “Tall Falls”. There are also two swimmable pools, river level and flow permitting, in the Thompson River on our private property. One pool is located just off the large back porch of the cabin and another pool is located a short walk through the forest. There is a large covered pavilion feet from the river, with a rock fire pit, picnic table and Adirondack chairs.

The property is located on Whitewater Rd. In one direction a few miles north is the main entrance of North Carolina's Gorges State Park, named in 2012 by National Geographic Magazine as one of the "50 of the World's Last Great Places - Destinations of a Lifetime", and a few miles south is Whitewater Falls, the largest waterfall in the U.S. east of the Mississippi, and access to "The Foothills Trail", a seventy-six mile long distance hiking trail.

The cabin's outdoor spaces include a large covered front porch facing the meadow, a large deck in the back, and a screened in porch just off the kitchen over looking the Thompson River and the Nantahala National Forest.

Inside our rustic cabin the main floor has two bedrooms: the master bedroom, which has a king (queen in photo) bed and a large walk in closet, and a bedroom with bunk beds. These two bedrooms share access to the cabin's main bathroom. On the main floor there is also the kitchen, dining area, and living room, all open concept. The living room includes a gas fireplace. All bedrooms have baseboard heaters. The cabin's upstairs and main living area is cooled with one large high horsepower mini split a/c unit.

There is a downstairs with an additional three bedrooms, one with a full bed and two with a queen bed and the house's washer and dryer. One of these bedrooms has direct access to the meadow. The second bathroom is downstairs and includes a full bath tub. There is a small third bathroom downstairs. Additionally there is a large living area, with a 65” Roku TV for streaming anything you access at your home, with direct access outside and a second bunk bed sleeping area and kitchenette. The third (not pictured) bedroom has a comfortable queen bed (note this bedroom is simple without a window).

The cabin intentionally does not have cable. As of April 2020 it has high speed-internet and two roku streaming TVs, limited DVD movie selections, and Blue Ray player that is on a movable stand for movie watching. There is a land line telephone.

Additionally, for families with young children there is pack and play crib, booster seat, high chair, children's books, toys, and movies stored on site.

This is a cabin for a family, group of friends, couple, hikers, or fishermen who value the beauty of nature, the forest, water falls, and being on a river. It is a simple cabin in the Nantahala National Forest where you are free to relax and will be at peace in the seclusion of the forest. If you are looking for a uniquely beautiful property to get back to nature you have found it.

- "The Arcade house is a great house for kids, old and young. Our kids ranged from 6 to 77 and all of us loved the various games in the arcade room! The kitchen area is a nice size and filled with light. We made the top porch our morning and evening gathering space. Although the main bedrooms are upstairs, the couch bed down stairs was fun for the kids to use. We particularly enjoyed the amenities provided with this rental at the near by Sapphire Club where there are pools, boats and all manner of golfing. We recommend this rental to any young family. Sapphire Valley is an outstanding area to visit."
