A private RV and truck are stored on the property. No one will be using them during your stay. Please do not attempt to access these vehicles.

QUIET HOURS ARE 10:00 PM - 9:00 AM. If any noise complaints are reported, you can expect a warning communication or site visit. If a party is found or a second noise violation/complaint occurs, you will be immediately removed from the property.

NO PARTIES OR EVENTS. If this rule is not followed, you will be immediately removed from the property without refunds or compensation.

MINIMUM BOOKING AGE IS 25. If you are under 25, please do not place a reservation without first contacting us. Failure to do so may result in termination of your reservation.

LOCAL RESIDENTS MAY NOT BOOK. If you live within 30 miles of the property, you must contact us for pre-approval. We reserve the right to terminate reservations made by local residents.

PERSON ON RESERVATION MUST CHECK-IN. A valid picture ID and/or identity verification by the booking platform is required before check-in. And this person must be staying at the property during the booking.

GUEST TOTAL MUST MATCH BOOKING. The correct number of guests must be on the reservation - This includes all guests entering the property at any point during the stay. The definition of a guest is not limited to only those people sleeping at the property but to all guests inside the unit at any given time.

NO SMOKING OR DRUG USE. If smoking or drug use is detected inside the property after your check-out, we may request additional money for cleaning and/or file a claim against you for damages.

NO PETS ALLOWED. If any pets/animals are at the property, you will be asked to remove the animal. If pet/animal remains or damages are detected after your check-out (including but not limited to excrement, animal hair/fur, animal smell, chew/claw marks, etc.) we will request additional money for cleaning and repairs and/or file a claim against you for damages.

GUESTS ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests expressly assume the risk of harm arising from their use of the property. Guests understand that they may purchase travel insurance to protect themselves in such events. The property owners or managers are not liable for any accidents, injuries, or illnesses that occur.

CHECK OUT ON TIME. Our cleaners are on a tight schedule and need to work in preparation for our next guests. If you require an earlier check-in or a later check-out, please request it in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. Otherwise, we reserve the right to charge a $50 late check-out fee. Any guest who is still on the property after 1:00 pm on check-out day will be automatically charged for an extra night.

Our newly renovated (1 bedroom/1 loft/2 bath/sleeps 6) cozy cabin sits on 12 acres and feels remote, but is only 2.5 miles from downtown Travelers Rest. It is just minutes from the Swamp Rabbit Trail, numerous state parks, endless shopping opportunities, family (and dog) friendly eating establishments, well-known breweries, wineries, distilleries, and meaderies (yes, mead!). Our closest town, Travelers Rest (TR as the locals call it) is an up-and-coming gem in the heart of Greenville County's most beautiful travel and adventure destinations. Only 15 minutes away is Greenville, SC--one of the most beautiful and cleanest cities in Blue Ridge Country. A little farther north (45 minutes) is Asheville, NC, home of the Biltmore Estate and Winery. Drive a short distance to endless hiking and biking trails, river rafting, skiing, tubing, other quaint towns, and more!
You may not even want to leave the 12-acre property with trails, outdoor games, hammocks, a stream, a fire pit, indoor games, puzzles, crafts, books, DVDs, internet TV, WIFI, and more! Plus, an updated kitchen with brand new appliances, quartz countertops, and country-chic dishware and utensils. If you like to cook, we've got what you need, if you don't, food is just a phone call or short drive away!
Bringing some Littles along? We have a baby gate, children's books, games, and crafts.
Bringing your fur baby along (20 lbs. or less dog)? We have a kennel, bed, blankets, rugs, towels, long leash, toys, a brush, and bowls just for them.
Even though it feels far away, you don't need a 4-wheel drive to get here, any vehicle will do. Uber and Lyft are available from either the Asheville or Greenville/Spartanburg airport; it is a 30-45 min. drive, appx. $50-$80 ride share fee. But, we do recommend a car if you want to explore the many hiking trails, Greenville, Greer and other outlying towns.
When you're not here, we are, so we have designed it to be the quaint retreat that we all need it to be. Take a deep breath, rest, relax, and rejuvenate. Enjoy TR Retreat!

The Tugaloo Cabin was originally a farm house located in Tigerville South Carolina and was moved to its current location. Built by the Bartons, an early settler family of the 1700's, the house now resides beside the remnants of the Tugaloo Road. Behind the cabin is the impression of the road which began in Tugaloo Georgia at a Cherokee Settlement. Making its way north through Pickens, Greenville, and Spartanburg counties the trail was used as an animal trace and footpath for the Cherokees.
The front porch of this house has such a great feel. Sit out front drinking coffee or enjoy watching the sunset over the valley. The Tugaloo road is directly out front of the porch along the tree line. It runs along the tree line and the side of the house and to the back. A mini split Air conditioning unit keeps the house plenty cool in the summertime and toasty warm during the winter. An inflatable twin mattress is available if guests need additional sleeping accommodations. Washer and dryer are located in the bathroom and available for use. Kitchen is fully stocked with coffee maker, coffee, cast iron skillets, spatulas, etc... Hope fully everything you could need is available. Dry wood is kept under the shed by fire pit. Please enjoy having a fire and watching the sun set. Out door lights ready to plug in.

The property is within 10 minutes driving distance to a lake at Pleasant Ridge County Park.

We are close to lots of hiking, biking and even small town shopping. Set in a very rural area yet not too far away to grab a bite to eat at some nearby restaurants.

Private gated entry leads to the parking and the cabin entrance. The side of the cabin is the main entrance to the house.
You can park directly in front of the cabin or anywhere below. The driveway does wrap around so you will be able to easily pull out.

There is plenty of wildlife on the property. Enjoy the variety of birds, deer, turkeys, bobcats, and sometimes black bears.

This handcrafted cabin is conveniently located and has been filled with everything for your needs. The primary bedroom is on the main floor with an ensuite full bathroom. The open loft is the second bedroom with plenty of space to enjoy. There is a sitting room off the living room area with an additional couch, tv, and work desk. The back patio is just off the kitchen with dining table, chairs, a grill and views of the ponds and sunsets. Your neighbors are farm animals. Although we are just off State Park Road, once you are in the cabin it is quiet and peaceful. Sitting outside, you will hear traffic noise as the road is a sort distance from the cabin.
We allow pets, but they must be added to the reservation and limit one pet per stay.

The space
Log Haven has an open floor plan, fully equipped kitchen and adjacent dining area to make staying 'home' for meals fun and easy. An electric fireplace can be used for additional heat in the living room, or just for ambiance. WiFi speed is (/31.70) for “smart TV” streaming (YoutubeTV, Netflix, Prime Video, and a small selection of DVD movies). The washer and dryer are behind folding doors next to the kitchen door.

Two Bedrooms: Master has a King memory foam mattress with ensuite bathroom (double vanity, shower and large jetted tub, bath salts included).
The 2nd bedroom has Queen memory foam mattress and adjacent shower bathroom. Good bedding is important to us. We are proud to include Red Land Cotton in our rotation of linen (Alabama grown cotton, spun and woven in SC, finished responsibly in Georgia).

A large wrap around porch makes for some sweet outdoor living with the front porch facing the pond and Eastern sun rise. A propane grill is on the front porch, with round tables for two and four. Enjoy the hammock on the west side where there is usually a nice breeze (blanket and pillow provided). Life is good on the porch, rain or shine.

Pets: Please check with us (no puppies). Maximum dog weight is 50 lbs. Your dog must be adult, house-broken, crate trained, groomed with filed nails, flee protected, and up to date vaccination (rabies and Parvo). Pee pads are not permitted. Dogs are not allowed on the beds or furniture, and crated if left alone in the cabin while you are away.

The nearby pond poses potential risks, particularly for children. We must advise that there are steep drop offs making it difficult to climb out. In addition, there are layers of silt that a child or adult could find difficult to manage. There are four adult and two child life jackets (not infant or toddler size) available for guest’s use.
Parents or guardians must be responsible for all risks and we will not be responsible for any injury or possible drowning. The liability is entirely upon the booking guest.

The private parking area is ample; Access to front and back doors have steps. Please do not drive or park beyond the parking area or on the grass. Thank you.

Other things to note
Fresh fruit, seasonal flowers, arrival snacks, and 1/2 cream are the “norm”. (Let me know if would like otherwise). Of course coffee, tea and condiments (sugar, stevia, s/p, oils, vinegars, some herbs and spices) are also provided.
The pantry stores an air popper, BlendTec blender, waffle iron, and latte/frother/hot chocolate maker.
Firewood is plentiful for the fire pit. We'll be happy to set it up for you if you like, and “fat wood” (provided) will get it going.
Additional overnight guests (beyond 4) or large groups are not allowed, but feel free to invite a friend or family member for a visit. The red storage shed near the parking area is a convenient place to store your bikes.
Since 2020, self-entry is usually now preferred by our guests; That said, please don't be shy about waving if you see us outside across the pond. We live across the dam, but visually hidden from the cabin by trees. We have two Border Collie doodles (Moose and Heidi). They are very friendly but may visit if they have get half a chance. If you have dogs that may react in a negative way, please let us know in advance. There is 1 resident duck🦆 that wanders around. We know it’s tempting but please do not feed them as they are regularly fed away from the cabin.
