Our secluded log cabin was built in 2022 originally to house a caretaker for the property we were raised on. Our family has been there over 50 years, we have always loved the creeks, woods, and abundant wildlife on our wooded glen. We are now happy to open our slice of heaven in Hendersonville with visitors like you to enjoy all the comforts and warmth of our sweet cabin. Beautiful log cabin very private with abundant hardwood tree and mountain laurel with views out every window of surrounding mountains, kitchen has granite counter tops and new stainless steel appliances, the whole cabin has new furniture with some custom pieces, floor to ceiling wood burning real rock fireplace, ash hardwood flooring on main level, has a large master bedroom with king size bed, the master bath has imported stone flooring, marble counter top on vanity with large stone tile shower and 6' free standing cast iron tub. Both bedrooms have flat screen TVs also large upstairs loft area with sectional sofa and a 52 inch flat screen TV all TVs are hooked up to Dish Network, upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed with upstairs bathroom which has a tub shower combo with stone tile flooring and granite counter top on vanity, the downstairs living room has a pull out sofa. This cabin lets you also bring the living outside with a large front porch and side deck just off of this deck is a large custom fire pit, picnic area with park like grill (charcoal) and covered hot tub area. If you want to stay at a one of a kind custom log home with craftsman detail throughout this is the cabin for you. The cabin is private but not secluded with easy access close to all western NC has to offer. Private outdoor living as well 5 person hot tub and fire pit. Both bedrooms have king size beds with custom bunk beds in loft area too. The large fireplace is real wood burning, we do provide firewood for our guest. Fully stocked kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops throughout. Master bath has a cast iron soaker tub as well as a walk in shower with travertine tile on floor and shower walls. Second bath has a tub/shower combo with travertine floors and granite counter top. Both bedroom's have a 40" TVs, loft has a 55"TV and downstairs living has a 40"TV. The cabin does have WIFi. This is a Nonsmoking and non-pet property.

Inside the home was small but perfect for 3 adults and two medium sized dogs. We rented the property for dog convenience, fenced deck and yard, and they did not disappoint. My one dog is 14, and her legs dont work as well as they used to, so the ramp into the yard worked perfectly. The property is also situated right between Hendersonville and Lake Lure offering endless options for actvities. If you want rest and relaxation with the option to hike, apple pick, visit wineries and meaderies, this is your place to stay."

Property Location: Our cabin property is East of historic Hendersonville and Southeast of Asheville amidst apple orchards and local wineries and vineyards. The 20-acre property is located at the foot of Bearwallow Mountain. The property is partially wooded with a private hiking trail through the woods, a pond, and a picnic shed next to the pond with a fire pit. Fishing is available in our pond.

Located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, our 20-acre property is beautiful in all seasons: spring flowering trees, summer foliage, fall colors, and in the winter the possibly of snow. Winter, when the leaves are off the trees, can be especially interesting due to the additional views that appear through the bare trees.

SPRING: Spring days are warmer (60-76) while nights remain chilly (36-53). Spring is great for hiking followed by a dip in the hot tub in the evening. Spring sometimes has a cold spell that drops temperatures near freezing for a night or two. We keep the fireplace pilot lit until the night time temperature consistently remains above 60 degrees, at which point the fireplace is turned off for the summer.

SUMMER: In summer months average temperatures are in the low to mid 80s with nights cooling down into the 60s. Perfect for an evening soak in the hot tub! Frequently summer days feature a brief cooling thunderstorm in the late afternoon.

FALL: In the Fall temperatures drop from highs averaging 78 in September to 59 in November. Lows average 57 in September and drop to 36 in November. It’s fireplace time!

WINTER: Weather is brisk to chilly in the winter, occasionally dipping below freezing, but snow is fairly rare. The cozy gas log fireplace and the hot tub on the covered porch will keep you warm! Highs hover around 50 with highly variable lows averaging a bit below freezing.

Cabin Location: The Cabin in the Woods at Clear Creek Cabins is one of four cabins, situated and landscaped for privacy, scattered about our 20 acre property. It is one of our more secluded cabins, being located on the wooded portion of our 20 acre property. There are woods on all sides.. You may glimpse a small part of another cabin, but there are no other buildings within sight. In the winter when the leaves are off the trees, you can see the local mountains through the bare trees. There are woods behind the Cabin in the Woods for miles (not all ours!).

Cabin Features: The covered porch features rocking chairs, a hot tub, and an outdoor dining table. The cabin has a gas log fireplace, air conditioning, smart TV with DVD player, wifi, microwave, toaster, blender and coffee-maker. Linens, dishes, and kitchen utensils are provided. The cabin has an outside propane BBQ grill. The cabin is well prepared for the rare power outage, with a gas log fireplace for heat and a gas stove for cooking. There is a fire pit near the pond. The hiking trail starts from (or ends at) the road to the Cabin in the Woods before you get to the Cabin. (Look for the sign.) It goes up in the woods and comes out next to the Cabin on the Hill where you can walk the roads back to your cabin.

I will say that I’m glad we decided to bring the 4x4 instead of the car. Clemontine’s – Welcome to our new construction home built in the foot print of our grandmothers old home and on family land in gorgeous Western NC. While we couldn’t preserve her house, you will see some aspects of the old homeplace still intact, like the springhouse, the smokehouse, corn crib and the old grapevines still on the property. We also tried to incorporate some materials from the old house as well, an old door for a headboard in the Master bedroom, an old single bed frame in bedroom 2, tin roofing as old barn doors in various places, multiple old chest of drawers, old vanity repurposed, china cabinet repurposed, the old oil drum made a great love seat on the back porch, several other old doors as a coffee table and hall tree, some old windows and various other odds and ends. The home is in a great location in the Fruitland Area of Hendersonville, NC, with close access to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Park, Biltmore Estates and Asheville, NC. The home is located near popular apple orchards (Justus Orchard) as well as Dupont State Park. So whether you want to get outdoors to hike, fish or Mtn bike, or visit the local breweries/Wineries (Burntshirt Vineyards) or shops downtown, we hope you will enjoy our little mountain getaway.

On the weekends they have food trucks and often live music, and are always a perfect spot for a picnic at their Lodge. The views here are unbeatable!

Our neighborhood is quiet and spread out, and many of our neighbors enjoy recreational target shooting. So you may hear them on occasion as well as another neighbor`s chickens and rooster! Its a true southern mountain neighborhood.

The driveway is half paved, so there is only a short portion of the drive that is gravel. No need for a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

You will need a car to get everywhere, and your GPS should help you get wherever you want to go, including hiking spots! Depending on your carrier, cell phone service can sometimes be a bit spotty in the mountains, but you have Wifi at the house to help you plan ahead and make calls.

The first half of the driveway is NOT paved, but the second half is. There is no need for 4-wheel drive, but sometimes the front of the drive gets washed out a bit, so you may need to go fast up the first part so you don`t have any issues. We are on a mountain, so the driveway gets steep, but that portion is paved. We have also included lighted solar lights along the drive to help you see at night.

The Forest Den is our oversized tiny house. It is important to note that this cabin is recommended for ONE, though countless couples have enjoyed it. FOR A COUPLE, SLEEPING IS A DAY BED WITH ROLL OUT POP UP TRUNDLE which may not be suitable for all guests. We take pride in their charm, cleanliness, and the beauty of the setting! Western North Carolina is breathtaking in every season! Our cabins are small, simple and invite contemplation of the surrounding natural beauty, yet it is a easy drive to the restaurants of Hendersonville's Main Street, Flat Rock Playhouse, Chimney Rock Park, Asheville, the Biltmore House.

Water- Water is provided from the spring below the cabin. We have a bucket for collecting the water and the water is run through a water filter, ensuring clean water for drinking, cooking, etc.

Parking- While there is parking for 3 vehicles at Bill's cabin, but part of the lot is shared with the parking for the campsites.

Firewood- is provided at the shed next to the cabin. It is available for purchase.

Access- There will be additional access instructions provided upon booking the cabin and also a book of instructions and things to do provided inside the cabin.

Bedding- We provide mattresses, but you will need to bring you own bedding. A sleeping bag and pillow is perfect to stay comfy and cozy. A rustic charming outhouse is provided about 20 yards away from the cabin.

The space
Located halfway between Hendersonville and Brevard, North Carolina, Serenade Cove fosters a feeling of mountain peace. Your vacation begins with a scenic drive along the French Broad River to reach your mountainside destination, a "picture-perfect" red cabin with a view of Fodderstack Mountain.

Our property sits in the Blue Ridge Mountains, accessed by a rugged gravel mountain road. Once you arrive, the lush foliage and wildlife feel like something out of Jurassic Park. Miles of hiking trails are nearby, although some may still be inaccessible due to hurricane damage as of October 2024.

We offer fast, reliable Wi-Fi powered by fiber or Starlink internet. A VOIP phone is provided for incoming and outgoing calls, with free long-distance within the US. Guests are responsible for international calls and overages. Mobile phone signal is limited, but you can forward your cell phone to the provided VOIP phone for convenience.

Other things to note
We do not provide condiments such as salt and pepper, spices, ketchup, mayonnaise, aluminum foil, saran wrap, or other food staples. Please bring your own and take them with you when you leave.

Everything you need for a relaxing mountain stay. The sunrise peeking over the trees start your day and watching the sunset from the deck or large picture window with your favorite drink is a perfect ending. There is a refreshment bar with coffee and supplies, as well as a selection of teas. Outside you'll find a shared firepit to enjoy in the evening. The cabin is next to the horse pasture, where you can sit on the deck with your morning coffee and watch Halogen and Victory canter and graze.

The space
The separate bedroom has a queen-size bed with a Tuft and Needle luxury mattress.
The main area includes a large leather sectional, TV, and Wi-fi. There is a table and chairs for dining inside, with patio furniture on the attached deck.
The kitchen has new appliances, including a toaster over, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, electric skillet and includes cooking utensils and supplies. There is also a gas grill on the deck.
This Cabin was completed in early 2022 and shares a lot on our farm with one other cabin.

Experience historic Appalachia at Stonewood cabin. Built in 1880, this authentic log cabin has been beautifully renovated in 2019 and is ready for your enjoyment.
This cabin is set on 2.5 serene acres, offering a true Appalachian experience while providing all the modern comforts of today.
There is another building on the 2.5 acre property that I (the owner) live in. Your privacy during your stay is very important to me and you will have access to the entire property during your stay.

The space
The living room features a vaulted ceiling, hardwood floors, and a custom fireplace made from locally sourced river rock. Enjoy the new 58 inch flat screen TV while you relax by the cozy wood burning stove, or step into the fully equipped kitchen, complete with granite counter tops, recessed LED lighting and everything you need to prepare a meal.

Upstairs you will find the large sleeping loft with a King size bed, while the lower level provides a totally private bedroom with a new Queen size mattress and a half bathroom, as well as its own outside private entrance.

Sit on the covered wrap around porch with its natural mountain laurel railings, listen to the soothing mountain stream that flows through the property, or slip into the two-person hot tub for a soak.

Check-in is easy with the numerical keypad.

Located 10 minutes from historic downtown Hendersonville with all its many restaurants, pubs and shops. Only 20 to 30 minutes from The Biltmore House, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Hiking Trails, Chimney Rock and all the wonderful amenities of Asheville, you'll find the location ideal.

Our rustic log cabin is close to Hendersonville, Brevard, DuPont State Forest, Hiking, Waterfalls, Mountain Biking, Holmes State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, trout fishing, REEB Ranch, and Tryon International Equestrian Center. Many NC craft breweries nearby. You’ll love our place because of our wooded location in the NC mountains. Inside is newly remodeled. Very private, perfect for mountain get-aways and couples weekends.

The space
Our cabin is just under 1000 sq ft with a upstairs bedroom. The bedroom contains two single beds while the downstairs sofa turns into a comfortable full sized bed.
We have a covered front porch with a table and seating for four in an addition there are two Adirondack chairs. The two level back deck off the kitchen has a table for four ideal for morning coffee. We also have a fire pit and provide firewood for one night's fire.
There is a gas grill for outdoor cooking.
There is a Bluetooth speaker for music.

Our sweet cabin is the perfect mix of historic 1930's charm and edgy, modern touches. Located within biking distance to downtown's restaurants, breweries, and shops but tucked away on a beautiful wooded lot - truly the best of both worlds!! 20 minutes to Pisgah Forest,Dupont Forest, Asheville Airport, vineyards, etc.! 3 Ski Mountains within 70 minutes!

2 minutes from the new Ecusta Trail! Our historic cabin is cozy and updated. We love the beautiful lot that it sits on. We spend mornings drinking coffee on the couch out front or with a glass of wine by the fire pit at night. We often grill out back and enjoy the patio there as well. It feels secluded but is still in a great community close to downtown - a great combination!

Please note that main bedroom is upstairs (queen bed) and the one bathroom is off of this bedroom (no bathroom downstairs).

Enjoy the 60+ acres and a large grassy field and picnic tables for kids to play. We have beautiful fishing and hiking trails along Mud Creek & The French Broad Rivers. Roughly 1 mile down the trail is Pilot's Point, a shady oasis complete with swings and picnic tables where Mud Creek meets the French Broad River. This area is subject to flooding when there is severe rain so bring shoes that can get muddy.

At Skylaranna, we offer a clean, contactless check-in. Once your reservation is confirmed, you'll receive the code to your In the Tree's Studio as well as the code to all public areas.

The SPA @ Skylaranna is open for guests and is available by appointment, please call - eight two eight nine one nine seven zero zero one - to book a massage, facial, or sauna/steam room. Elevations Restaurant is open to the public as well. You can find more information on Skylaranna's website. Everything you need for a relaxing mountain vacation is here. Our property is located just east of Hendersonville surrounded by horse farms and orchards. Summer and fall are great times to pick apples, blackberries and other fruit. For wine lovers, there are six wineries in our area offering tastings, music and great food. Many of these locations are with 10-15 minutes of the cabin. Local breweries offer craft beer and live music.
The shared fire pit is available to enjoy your favorite beverage.

The space
The separate bedroom has a queen-size bed with a Tuft and Needle luxury mattress, and an adjacent bathroom with toilet, sink and large shower with essentials provided.
The living area includes a leather love seat, separate chair, TV and Wi-fi. There is space for dining inside, and additional furniture on the deck.

The kitchen has new appliances, including a toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, electric skillet and includes cooking utensils and supplies. We provide a fully stocked coffee bar. There is also a gas grill on the deck.

The shared fire pit is available after a day of adventure to enjoy your favorite beverage.

This Cabin was completed in early 2022 and shares a separate lot on our farm with one other cabin.

The perfect cozy spot to unplug in the mountains! I feel like lots of descriptions try to "oversell" you so I'll share a few things i genuinely love about my mini a-frame.

- It's in the most peaceful setting - it's like camping but wayyy cozier - with a super comfy bed :)
- You'll feel secluded but just steps in the forest from your parking spot + only 15 min. to Hendersonville and 17 to Brevard
- You can open the side to create a covered patio
- My own brand of local coffee is always included

The space
This mini A frame cabin has been a dream of mine to build and I am so excited to share it with you. It is tucked only steps up the hill by the trickling creek in what I think is the most magical spot on my property. It just feels peaceful when you are there :)

We worked hard to make it feel at home there so we didn't do much clearing - we just worked with the land that was there and tucked the cabin right in. As you walk up the stone step path you will hear the creek, see mountain laurel, rhododendrons, mountains in the distance, and if you are lucky you may spot a white squirrel or two. :)

Also i have a thing for gnomes so you'll see some hidden around the area too :)

The portable toilet and outdoor, hhot shower (no available in winter) are shared spaces with people camping in the camping area. There are never more than 2 groups camping at once, so sharing shower time is not an issue.

Other things to note
Please note the drive up to the cabin is a steeper gravel road. A vehicle with higher ground clearance and AWD or 4WD is recommended. That being said I have had guests in smaller cars make it up and down just fine :)

Also note that the setting of this cabin is private, but it is possible you can hear noises (like the occasional bark from my loudmouth corgi ha) from my nearby home or neighbors.

The space
Mountain Laurel Cabin is a true log cabin with high open ceilings and lots of cozy spaces. Up above the bedroom is the Zen loft where you can relax with a good book or simply curl up for a snooze under the skylight. There’s a fully equipped kitchen and bath as well as a comfy queen aspen log bed. It’s everything you need for a relaxing stay in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Wander the wooded property and enjoy dark starry skies and the silence of the forest. We have a path over to our favorite secluded spot where it’s just you, the forest, and fresh mountain air. Even if the weather doesn't cooperate you can listen to the rain on the tin roof and enjoy a warm drink in the loft. Total square footage including the loft is about 700sf - a perfect cozy size. There is a fire pit up above the house that you are free to enjoy. (Plenty of wood can be scavenged around the property.)

***LIVING AREA***

Natural wood, unique furnishings, and one of a kind art and textiles make for a comfy place to settle in under the open, vaulted wood ceiling. A skylight floods the space with light. There's a super soft, fluffy papasan chair in the corner, a chaise to curl up on and and natural wood console dining table with a window looking out into the mountain forest.

***KITCHEN***

The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with full size stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave oven. There are Keurig coffee pods and three ways to prepare coffee the way you like it! Drawers and cabinets have pots and utensils for your impromptu cooking needs and we provide cooking basics such as olive oil, salt and pepper. Our water source is pumped straight from the mountain and can be enjoyed right out of the tap!

***BEDROOM***

You'll slumber on a thick, high quality mattress within a robust Aspen log bed frame. A giant closet will handle all your storage needs and houses extra pillows and linens if needed. The fresh bed linens are provided, and there are romantic flameless candles on the uniquely painted chest of drawers. The window has blackout curtains for those who like a darkened room to sleep in.

***BATH***

All fresh towels are provided! There's a double sink with large mirrors and a large step in shower with body soap and shampoo.

***LOFT***

The Zen loft is a relaxing space up above the bedroom. (Accessible by ladder only.) Relax under the skylight with a fur blanket and a good book on the chaise lounge or watch a bit of TV. There are reading lights and a small, owner curated selection of books for your enjoyment. The loft is also a great space to snooze or do yoga.

***OUTDOOR SPACE***

Of course nobody comes to the mountains to stay indoors! Your getaway sits at the end of a gravel road surrounded by nearly 500 acres of forest. With few exceptions, expect to often hear...nothing...nothing but the many singing birds, or the rain, or breezes through the forest. The silence can be magical. The cabin has an expansive front-to-back deck with outdoor dining setup and lounge chairs, suitable for relaxation after hiking or meals outside under the trees. The property is mostly wooded and home to a large variety of mountain wildlife that can be seen often in the morning or evening. The fire pit at the top of the property provides a great opportunity for crackling warmth on those cool mountain evenings under the stars! Thought not technically within our property boundaries, the adjacent land owners have provided permission for us to use the shelter near the fire pit, which had been abandoned. It's a great spot to hang a hammock and snooze or read a book.

Additionally, there's a washer and dryer, TV in the loft (Roku only - no cable TV), hammocks and walking sticks for your excursions. We have some games in the living room console for evening or rainy day entertainment.

You're close to LOTS of hiking, waterfalls, lakes, and natural mountain attractions or you can simply walk around the property which is mostly wooded.

The cabin is completely yours during your stay and you are welcome to "forest bathe" in the woods on the property. There are markers showing property boundaries.

*** Notes: As of April 2025 - There are only a few places in Western NC that still aren't accessible. Chimney Rock is still under reconstruction and a few areas of the Blue Ridge Parkway are closed due to ongoing reconstruction after landslides, otherwise pretty much everything is open and local businesses will be glad to see you! First 5 miles of the Ecusta Trail is scheduled to open in JUNE. We're excited about that!

The cabin sits at the end of a road on several wooded acres, adjacent to nearly 500 forested acres. Please note that the adjacent forest is private property. You are welcome to hang out in the camping structure near the house despite it being just over the property line. We have permission from our neighbors at the camp to use it, but please be respectful.

Our neighbors in the one visible house across the way do have dogs and they may bark for a bit on occasion if they see activity or hear something, (they may cautiously approach, but we find them to be mostly skittish) otherwise it's quiet and mostly all you'll hear are birds, crickets, and breezes in the trees. There are other neighbors further down (not visible) who also have dogs that may bark or approach if you choose to walk down the gravel road. Please keep this in mind.

The road accessing the property is gravel and generally navigable, but depending on weather and rainfall, it can develop ruts that may require maneuvering around until it receives maintenance. This is a common occurrence in the mountains. Go slow if you have low clearance.

If you have T-Mobile, you may not have cell service. AT&T has variable service. Verizon does have service.

Access to the loft requires climbing a ladder, so please be careful - ceiling height in the loft is 6 feet at the ridge board but it's a great space to lounge, watch TV, read, nap, or do yoga. Note if the weather is hot in the mountains, the loft can get warm despite the cabin having an efficient AC unit. There's a fan in the loft should you need it.

Our bath does not have an exhaust fan, so we recommend leaving the bath door & (weather permitting) window open after a steamy shower to dissipate moisture and prevent mildew.

It tends to be VERY quiet at night, but if you like some white noise, we have a noise machine in the bedroom chest.

The wood stove has NOT been inspected for current use, so please do not build a fire in it. We do have a fire pit outside that you're welcome to use. There's plenty of natural dead wood on the property and wood scraps up near the shelter to use for the outdoor pit. We just ask that when you're done using it, please use the hose at the top of the property to fully extinguish it and turn off the hose valve when done.

This house is a true log cabin in the woods, so despite diligent cleaning and our best attempts to keep them out, sometimes critters will find their way in via crevices in the logs or enter via the front door if it's open. Log cabins also tend to creak, snap, and pop as logs expand and contract. This is normal. You may also hear the dehumidifier which keeps the crawl space dry.

Additionally, there are bears, snakes, rodents, and other animals or insects you'd normally expect to see living in the woods, and though it's rare, you may randomly see one or several near the cabin. This is true of all forested properties in the mountains. If this has the potential to bother or upset you, please reconsider visiting the area.

Enjoy everything Western NC has to offer from this spacious, private, and comfortable log cabin home. Hiking, mountain biking, swimming and waterfalls are all available in the adjacent Dupont State Forest. The cabin is 15 minutes from Pisgah National Forest and 20 minutes from Hendersonville and Brevard. AS OF 2025 there is high speed Wifi (Starlink), and as a result great cell service. AND THERE IS NO LONGER A CARETAKER ON THE PROPERTY so guests have the whole property to themselves.

This is a private and cozy log cabin home. And you can literally walk, run or ride right onto the trails of Dupont State Forest!

The cabin has a large covered front porch, spacious open deck, and a screened in back porch. All for enjoying the fresh air and quiet of the mountains. Inside, the house is large and comfortable, with recent renovations to the kitchen and bathrooms. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs with one king bed, one queen bed, and double bed. The living room has a double futon and a single futon to use if needed. The cabin can sleep up to 9 people, if two sleep in every bed upstairs, and 2 on the double futon in the living room.

There are two full baths. The downstairs bath has a shower and the upstairs bath has a clawfoot bath tub. The house has a washer and dryer in the kitchen so guests can conveniently wash their clothes after their trail adventures.
The kitchen is also fully stocked for cooking meals during your stay.
You will find coffee, olive oil, spices, and many other basics to make your stay more convenient. There is a 12 cup coffee brewer, and a coffee grinder.

Forest users will have easy access to Dupont's trails....just a 1/2 mile away!

Guests will also enjoy the convenience of visiting the mountain towns of Hendersonville or Brevard, two mountain towns each just 20 minutes away. And each offering excellent breweries, vineyards, dining, galleries and shopping.

The backyard has a firepit (with plenty of firewood) and cornhole for the guests to enjoy.

Please feel free to explore Yonderways' lush 7.5 acres. There is a private fire pit with supplied wood, horse shoes, fishing pond, and rushing creek. Also during your visit the hot tub is exclusively yours and please note it is located on the only flat surface in the holler. ChatGPT described our hot tub picture as: "Driveway Delight: Soak Under the Stars in Our Outdoor Hot Tub!" lol The hot tub was installed in the former fire pit area and really never our driveway. It is what it is folks - welcome to living with locals in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Other things to note
Our two LGD (Livestock Guardian Dogs) are contained to certain areas of our property through wireless fencing. The cabin is beyond their access range, but be aware if you venture to the pond, horse shoes, hot tub or visit the chickens and pigs they are likely to obnoxiously seek your attention (they are absolutely harmless). FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the cabin in relation to your house? Is the cabin private?
-- The cabin is visible from our main residence as it is situated in front of our home up a slight grade. However, due to foliage and to how the interior is oriented, you will enjoy complete privacy. The deck is very private, and the continuous rushing waters make for a soothing "white noise" barrier.

The HOT TUB is in a shared space - but it is only for guest use. Please see property pictures of the hot tub location - it is a short walk down from the cabin - pack sandals, we supply beach towels.

How far are you from Asheville (or Biltmore)?
-- Anywhere from 35 - 50 minutes. The cabin is located almost dead center of Hendersonville and Brevard, but giving the close vicinity to natural resources we're a bit of a ride to the more urban tourist attractions. Specifically Biltmore is a 50 minute drive. *NOTE - we mountain folk don't bother with travel distances giving that a mountain mile can't be measured in the same way as a flatland mile. We deal in average travel times which can vary especially if you get behind another tourist trying to negotiate the curvy roads.

The cabin is a short ride to Jeter Mountain Farms, Holmes Educational Forest, DuPont, and approximately 15-20 minutes from Pisgah Forest, Downtown Brevard, Downtown Hendersonville and Flat Rock.

The Settlers cabin is located 21 miles from Asheville and 12 miles from Chimney Rock State Park. It is located on 9 acres of private property with Mountain View’s all around. A very private setting with a .5 mile concrete paved driveway, one lane. A great way to get your morning or evening walk in. Apple orchards and nature all around.

The bedroom is located in the loft a common area with a queen size and a full size bed both accessible from the stairs.

The space
The cabin is very unique as it is authentic and dates back to the 1850’s the bedroom is above the Kitchen and Bathroom and has a forest view out of the loft window. Their are spiral steps to climb to enjoy the bedroom, the steps are narrow to accommodate the space. There is a front porch with two rocking chairs and a back porch with a grill and laundry room attached. The views and the peaceful setting are a great chance to get away from it all and relax. We also provide all kitchen utensils, pots, pans and a Keurig with K cups of different flavors. Firewood, kindling and fire starter to make building your morning or evening fire much easier, will be there for you when you arrive. There is also a fire pit area behind the cabin.

Not only will you find everything you need for a first night like complementary travel sized shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash that smell like a tropical waterfall - but an inviting heated toilet seat ensuring you comfort and relaxation after traveling.

We understand the importance of a good night's sleep, which is why we have thoughtfully designed two comfortable bedrooms to ensure a restful stay. Each bedroom is equipped with two comfortable queen sized beds, both supplied with quality bedding and the choice of both firm and soft pillows for whatever suits your sleeping habits best.
These bedrooms not only provide comfort, they were also thoughtfully decorated to provide you with a relaxing atmosphere. The downstairs bedroom is adorned with tranquil bird decor, bringing a serene ambiance to the room. Stunning authentic logs and windows that flood the room with natural light surrounds this space with warmth.
As you finish walking up the winding stairs to the loft, you will be met with a bedroom that has a truly one-of-kind architectural design. The slanted ceilings create an intimate atmosphere that adds character and charm. Adorned with country-inspired red accents and fox decor, this loft becomes a cozy getaway where you can let your imagination roam free.

Let your stress melt away, relax and unwind in the new Jazzy hot tub with 94 jets, waterfall, 2 fountains, 6 person with lounger. Soak under the stars after a day’s hike. Walk to the top of the mountain for a panoramic view; on your way, walk pass by Hungry River located just across the road from the HootOwl, or hike the loop trail just off your Master bedroom door! Enjoy the outside deck or sit by the large picture window and watch all that nature has to offer. Walk to the community chapel and attend Sunday morning services during summer season. Open your windows and enjoy a peaceful sleep with the sound of the rumbling river, or sit by the fireplace with a good book. The HootOwl offers endless family fun and enjoyment along with quiet hours of just pure relaxation!

The entrance to the cabin is through the painted HootOwl door and Up the stairs to the front door; watch your step! We have provided a house phone with unlimited long distance for our guests. Cell reception may be spotty depending on your carrier (you may want to turn wifi calling on with your cellular carrier. There is also access to hi-speed Spectrum Wi-Fi throughout the cabin. The TVs are smart TVs with Spectrum TV channels, Netflix and Hulu.

Winter in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina not only has its own special beauty, but also offers a whole lot of fun! Make plans this winter to visit the ski mountains of Western North Carolina. No other state in the region can boast so many slopes and opportunities to have fun in the snow all winter long! Black Bear Snow Tubing is 3.4 miles from the cabin. Six ski resorts all within an hour to 2 hours away: Cataloochee Ski Area, Ski Sapphire, Wolf Ridge Ski Resort, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain and Appalachian Ski Mountain.

On your drive to the HootOwl, you will experience 'Apple Country' as Henderson County is the largest apple-producing county in North Carolina and grows 65 percent of the apples in the state. Today Henderson County and Edneyville is home to approximately 200 apple growers. There are about 5000 acres of apple trees planted in Henderson County. The apple harvest season runs from late August to late October.

For wine enthusiasts, the Hoot Owl is located just minutes from three local 'family owned' wineries. Point Lookout Vineyards, Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards and Burntshirt Vineyards, all family-owned with tasting rooms and wine available for purchase. These wineries enjoy panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Sample the many varieties from wine grapevines, grown on the vineyards at elevations of 2,300 and 3,000 feet along with cool nights produce some of the best wine producing grapes in the country!

During your stay at the Hoot Owl, you will want to take 15 - 20 minute drive to Lake Lure. The lake is approximately 720 acres, with about twenty-one miles of shoreline. National Geographic has called Lake Lure one of the most beautiful man-made lakes in the world!

Lake Lure sits in the heart of Hickory Nut Gorge and its picturesque setting offers numerous photo opportunities. East of Asheville, the crystal clear Rocky Broad River tears its way in a series of rapids down through Hickory Nut Gap.

Historic downtown Hendersonville is just a twenty minute drive from the Hoot Owl. Hendersonville is located 22 miles south of Asheville, NC on a plateau with an altitude of 2200 feet above sea level. Explore the town and surrounding country with varied attractions, festivals, recreational activities, historical sites, golf courses, family activities, historic districts, a variety of accommodations and restaurants.

This wonderful modern farmhouse sits on a lot with plenty of trees, laurel, and has all the amenities you could hope for.

Whether enjoying the hot tub or sipping your morning coffee in the sun porch you are sure to find peace and relaxation here. We also have all the modern conveniences from WiFi, smart TVs, and an office set up in the 3rd bedroom for a working vacation. This area is a bicyclers paradise; in the garage you'll find an air compressor and tools if you need to work on your bike.

Pisgah Shadows Cottage is located only six miles from DuPont State Forest with it's incredible waterfalls and over 80 miles of hiking and mountain bike trails and also only six miles from the Pisgah National Forest where you will find the Davidson River which boast more trophy trout per mile than any other stream in the country as well as tubing and Sliding Rock!

Over 1200 square feet of heated living space provides you with a 2 queen bedrooms and another full bedroom (all with closets with shelves and hangers provided), two full baths, living room with gas fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen, sun porch, garage with bicycle repair area, and full laundry. There is also a fenced area that is great for pets.

When the day is through and you have hiked the National Forests and its waterfalls, you can retreat to your private cottage and still be in the middle of nature's beauty. It is everything you are looking for... Enjoy!
