Currently the turret houses the dining room downstairs and the Anna Suite upstairs.The music room is now Dr. Filiz's consultation and treatment room. She does see some patients Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Her services would also be available to book for you. She is a Doctor of Oriental and Functional Medicine, licensed in NC and FL.

Studio sized cottage in historic W Hendersonville with a firefly theme, one block to the Ecusta Trail. Separate but next to my house (no shared walls). Consists of a large bedroom & a bathroom with a tub/shower. Inside the bedroom is a "kitchenette" area with a mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven & keurig. There's also a love seat to relax and watch tv. The queen bed has a comfy medium firm mattress and nice cotton linens. Lovely private backyard w/ grill. See more info in photo captions.

The property is about a half acre with a privacy fence. My home is a mid century brick rancher. Under the same roof, and separated by a breezeway, is the guesthouse called Firefly. There are no shared walls between my house and Firefly. The yard has grass and lots of pretty flowering shrubs. There's gas grill for your use, and an outdoor bistro set. There are also chairs in the backyard for you.

Access to the new Ecusta Trail is just a block away. As of May 2025 there’s about 6 miles of pavement down on the west side of Hendersonville. Eventually, it will be paved all the way to Brevard. Bring your bikes, or just enjoy a walk!

During winter months when occupancy is less, if you are booking the same day as arrival, please allow at least an hour for me to get the space up to a comfortable temperature.

Guest access
The entire guesthouse called Firefly is yours. You also have access to the back yard, bbq grill (I occasionally use these areas), and you will have exclusive use of an outdoor bistro set. Parking is a shared concrete driveway, which is right in front of Firefly. There are no steps to enter the unit, or inside it. While there are no grab bars in the bathroom, the unit is otherwise pretty accessible.

Other things to note
Please follow the driving directions that I will send as part of your check-in instructions. Maps will sometimes send folks a confusing way, and the gravel road is in bad shape that other way.

It is a little over a mile from Firefly to downtown. There are sidewalks 99% of the way. There is little traffic right in the neighborhood, and it is very walkable. We also have access to the new Ecusta Trail a block away. It’s expected to be completed in 2025. This will connect Hendersonville with Brevard, and the six miles or so that are already paved are wonderful for walking and biking. Trailside Brewing and Ecusta Cafe are a relatively short walk away on the trail. There is a coffee shop about a block away and many shops, restaurants, breweries, wineries and hiking trails within a short drive.

Please note that the "kitchenette area" is small and not set up for preparing meals from scratch. There's just enough space/equipment to reheat meals prepared elsewhere or make a sandwich. And there is only the one sink in the bathroom. You're welcome to use the gas grill also.

Woods End Retreat offers a pet friendly, LGBTQ friendly getaway in a secluded, wooded area offering a shared deck with a bar, fire pit and fenced yard. Your private outside entrance leads to a large downstairs apartment with a cozy living room, kitchen area including a refrigerator, air fryer/microwave, coffee pot and dishes and lovely bedroom with queen size bed and attached bath with shower. Living area includes TV with optional streaming and internet.

The space
The apartment has a private living room, dry bar, hallway, kitchenette, bedroom with attached shower/bathroom. A refrigerator, dishes, air fry oven, microwave and coffee pot are provided. The coffee pot offers hot water for both coffee and tea.

There is wi-fi available. We have streaming with Hulu and You Tube. Guests may choose which TV service they want to use during their stay.

Guests may use our outside deck and hot tub, (two person).

Please note: The house was built in 1977. It’s a basement apartment. It can have a musty smell noticeable to some people; some people not. Rather than use a particular air freshener that may offend some folks, we offer a number of scents guests may select from. Most guests seem to not even notice an odor, but, we wanted full disclosure that it was a possibility.

Guest access
Guests have total privacy downstairs. They may access the deck/bar/ hot tub in the upper yard. (see note on hot tub)They have access to the garage from their apartment. From April 1-April 20, we will not have a hot tub. A new 5 person tub will be available after that date.

Other things to note
We do have 6 dogs. They are in our fenced yard and friendly. We ask that if guests come to the outside deck/bar/ hot tub area, that you give us a call before coming up so we can put the dogs in the house. They would be all over you wanting attention.

We have had no complaints from guests regarding any nuisance barking during their stay.

The space
The cottage is 50 feet from the main house which has long-term tenants. Set on over an acre of rolling lawn and lots of trees. Enjoy the stars at night. Plenty of parking. Cozy but roomy. This is our fourth Airbnb listing and we think it is our best effort yet!

The studio style cottage has a combined living room and bedroom area. King size bed. The work space offers a rolling desk and stools, a wall mounted Smart TV with Wi-Fi. Charging cables are located in the bedside tables for iPhone, iPad, Android. The ceiling fan and the candles in the windows, have remote control. The kitchen area is fully stocked with all essential cooking utensils. All appliances are provided. The bathroom offers a walk-in tiled shower with additional linens. Lots of extras: iron, ironing board, sewing kits, extra hygiene items, if needed. The patio has seating for 4. Please place the cushions into the storage box and close the lid tight to help keep them clean and dry. The yard is fully fenced for children and pets. Items for pets at the back door: booties for the small pups, paw wash, drying towels, extra leashes and portable watering bowls when taking hikes or long walks.
