Welcome to Scout's Den! A cozy retreat walkable to all of Black Mountain's amazing restaurants and shopping. This adorable garden studio is separate from the main house and has a carport with space for one vehicle. This is truly an escape! With no internet we encourage our guests to enjoy the natural beauty of the mountains and our small town charm. We do have a TV with a Super Nintendo and DVD player if you feel like staying in. We live on the property full time with our family.

Welcome to our bright studio apartment, only 3 blocks from the center of Black Mountain on the northern edge of the Dougherty Heights Historic District. This large detached above-garage studio is across the deck from our shaded 1924 home just off Montreat Rd.

The space
King-size bed, sitting area, dining area, & kitchenette. The studio is detached from the main house above the garage; outside you have your own deck space & access to the hot tub! Our pup will greet you in the yard on arrival but is never allowed in the guests' living space. We are powered by solar panels with backup battery in case of power outages. 3 blocks to the main intersection in downtown Black Mountain, 2 blocks to Black Mountain Yoga, 1 block to the seasonal Saturday Farmers Market (May - Oct), & a few sidewalk-lined blocks to the Lake Tomahawk Park with public pool, lake path, playground, & golf course. This studio is 2.5 miles from Montreat & great hiking, & only 15 minutes to downtown Asheville & the Biltmore Estate. Easy drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, UNCA & Warren Wilson College, & fabulous hiking & mountain biking. Walk easily to all the unique restaurants & shops of Black Mountain!

Beautiful home in Black Mountain with 3 Bedrooms that comfortably sleep 6 with a King in the primary, a Queen in the secondary, and two twin beds in the third bedroom. We have a large well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook the perfect meal. We also have two bathrooms one with and tub and shower and the other with just a shower. You will love sitting on our expansive deck and soaking up the views of the beautiful mountains!

Cragmont Rentals provides a "starter package" of consumable goods for your stay, which includes a limited amount of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, one dish sponge, dishwasher tabs (if applicable), and laundry pods or detergent. Our hope is for you to begin enjoying your stay as soon as you arrive, however, the items included in the "starter package" are not meant to last the duration of your stay. Please plan to pack or purchase items you may need beyond was is provided.

Our check in time is at 4:00 p.m. and our check out time is at 10:00 a.m. We ask that you please be respectful of these times to allow our cleaning team to properly prepare the house and for the next guests to enjoy their stay as much as we hope you do! Adjusting either time may be possible, upon request and depending on availability, for an additional $25 fee.

If you are staying at one of our pet friendly properties you will be charged $75 per pet. Failure to inform us of your pets staying at the property will result in a $250 fine.

Failure to follow the check out procedures outlined in the house manual may result in a $50 fee. All doors and windows should be locked and all lights should be turned off prior to your departure.
