Will stay again." - " Easy walk to downtown Franklin. Beautiful area. Staff was very friendly. I recommend you bring your own pillow unless you like them thin. Bed was a little swayed as well. Complimentary beverage center was great! Breakfast was simple but very good! Scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, homemade biscuits w/homemade strawberry preserve, homemade lemon cake and fruit salad. With that said there were only 2 couples staying so kind of hard to make gourmet food. Definitely would recommend this B&B!"

Standard queen rooms feature a queen bed, a private bathroom with a tub/shower, a flat screen TV, a desk, a chair, a mini fridge, a k-cup coffee maker. Guests have access to our lobby anytime and can have breakfast there in the morning.

The Zen Den is up on a beautiful south facing hill at Highlands' cool elevation of 4118'. The cabin has its own private deck and yard for guests' exclusive use.
Please enjoy our horses from a distance and we ask that you not interact with them directly or allow your pets in their designated areas.

Other things to note
WINTERTIME NOTE:
Please know that during the winter months, the mountain weather can get tricky with extreme cold, ice and snow storms. The power could go out and so could the internet.
And, if the driveway ices over, you may need to walk up the hill from the road to the cabin. The likelihood of any of this happening is pretty low but I don't want you to have any adverse surprises during your trip.

Beautiful cabin listing! The "Bear's Den" is a one bedroom, rustic, unique, and cozy cabin, located in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. It is the perfect getaway for couples looking to escape city life, and unwind. The inside is rustic, with barn wood accents, and a tiled shower with glass shower doors. Appalachian Trail and waterfalls nearby.

Please read the House Manual before booking. We have a firm check in/check policy: 4:00pm is check in, 10:00am is check out. We cannot allow cats due to allergies. We do allow 1 dog, please message us with any questions. There is a $50 pet fee. Please close the hot tub after use and turn the lights and the jets off. The temp shouldn’t be raised above 104 degrees. We have bundles of firewood for sale for $8.00/bundle located on the other side of the barnwood wall. Please place cash in the little antique mailbox located above the firewood, on the wall. Don’t leave trash outside overnight due to wildlife. We provide towels, washcloths, hand towels, dish towels, blankets, dish soap, paper towels (1), toilet paper (2 rolls), disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, hot tub towels, small pet clean up bags, outdoor trash can for pet clean up, hair blow dryer, outdoor fire pit, bundled fire wood for sale, and a gas grill. This home only accepts dogs at this time. A non refundable pet fee of $85 plus taxes must be paid through the resolution center before your reservation begins. If unapproved pets are detected on site, this may result in immediate termination of your reservation.

This is the best view of Whiteside Mountain, you will find no better. The Love Shack is a unique one of a kind property located in one of Highlands most desirable areas less than 2 Mi from town. The screened porch and king size bed overlook Whiteside, oldest mt in the world. There's a private waterfall and garden. The grill and fire/meditation garden hold a powerful energy to calm and heal. Beautifully furnished, marble and barn wood kitchen and bath. Tub for two under sky light.

This charming guesthouse is nestled in a wooded setting with mountain views. Relax on the wraparound porch taking in the fresh air and scenery as you warm up by the outdoor stone fireplace. The vaulted ceilings in the main house with a stone fireplace provide the perfect mountain ambiance.

The guesthouse shares the property with the main house which was built in 1930. Just minutes to the shopping and dining of both Highlands and Cashiers.

The space
The great room has vaulted ceilings with a large seating area in front of the stone fireplace. Both the indoor and outdoor fireplace are gas assisted. The open half kitchen has a mini-refrigerator, freezer drawers with ice maker, a microwave oven, a small toaster/convection oven and an outdoor grill. There is a dining nook with a foldout leaf to the table.

There are two bedrooms. One has a king size bed and opens to the wraparound porch. It has an ensuite bathroom with a tub/shower. The other bedroom also has a king-size bed and an ensuite bath with a tub/shower which also serves as a powder room.

The cabin is air-conditioned and heated. It has excellent high speed wireless internet and cable. There are ceiling fans in each bedroom, the living room and on the porch.

The wraparound porch has a stone fireplace with plenty of seating. It is fully screened and has acrylic panels for warmth in the winter.

There is a gazebo on the property with a fire pit. Also lots of areas to walk and explore....gardens and a hidden spring with a stream. The outdoor areas (other than the wraparound porch) are shared with the owner. There is parking near the guesthouse and also a washer/dryer in the garage.

We have almost everything you could think of, so just bring yourself. You will be 3 minutes to downtown Highlands, and 15 minutes to downtown Cashiers. The area has so much to offer -hiking , fishing, whitewater rafting, ziplining in the summer and skiing and snow tubing in the winter. Plus plenty of good restaurants and lots of shopping.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property. There are gardens, a short walking trail and a gazebo with a fire pit. Also a spring with a small rustic stream. These areas are shared with the owners.
