The space
Our fully furnished house has everything to suit your needs. It features a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, TV, Blu-ray player, WiFi & a deck with mountain views. Our TV has amazon prime for all free content, and Netflix. There are 2 queen beds in this house. One room has its private bathroom. The other bathroom is in the family/kitchen room area. The home can sleep up-to 6 people, but you will need an air mattress. This air mattress then can be inflated in the living room and we have installed window darkening blinds to create a sweepable area.

If traveling with families, your kids can enjoy the hill in the backyard for sledding, making snow angels, and also snow man. Kids also love going to Apple Hill a working farm. There are a bunch of gem mining locations to sift through dirt and find a rare blue sapphire.
Banner Elk downtown is 3 miles away. Great places to eat. Try the Banner Elk Cafe for breakfast before 11am. Excellent

You have access to 24 hour daycare which is 2 streets away so the parents can go out in Banner Elk and enjoy a night away from the kids. The daycare service can be provided on the mountain, or they will come to the house. All daycare workers are certified and work on the mountain all day babysitting in the daycare/nursery. Daycare service for nighttime hours need to be reserved before 12 noon of the day needed.
In the summer nights, every Friday, there is live music in Banner Elk. Lots of people from many different locations come to dance and listen to music. Great Time!

• Ski Access Nearby: The building does not have a ski lift, but it is conveniently located right next to the slopes.

• Free Shuttle Service: A complimentary shuttle operates on demand, approximately every 30 minutes to nearby Sugar Ski. For schedule details, please check with the front desk.

• Ski Equipment Rentals: The ski equipment rental store has moved from inside the condo building to Sugar Mountain Resort. Guests can access this store via the free shuttle service. For more ski rentals and resort info, visit skisugar . com (no website links allowed).

• Parking Information: Parking is not assigned at check-in, and the upper-level parking near the building is reserved for homeowners. During the busy season, all guests will need to park in the lower-level lots and take the shuttle to the front entrance. The resort has five parking levels below the main building, offering plenty of space for all visitors.

• On-site parking is only available when the shuttle is not operating. If the shuttle service is running, all rental guests must park in the lower lot and use the shuttle to reach the building.

• Weather Advisory: During the winter months, snowfall can accumulate quickly, even after paths are cleared. If you're visiting in snowy conditions, we recommend utilizing the complimentary shuttle service for easier and safer commutes.

• Access Reminder: Please note that from December through January, 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) or AWD (All-Wheel Drive) vehicles are mandatory for accessing Grousemoor Road leading up to Sugartop. This requirement is enforced by the Sugar Mountain Police Department (SMPD). SMPD will be stationed at the bottom of Grousemoor Road and will issue tickets to vehicles that do not meet these requirements. Please ensure everyone in your group has a suitable vehicle for these months.

• Note: Sugar Top Resort does not feature ski-in/ski-out access. However, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort offers this amenity if you're looking for direct slope access from accommodations.

Common Questions/Concerns:
PARKING: SugarTop check-in/parking process has a reputation. Some positive changes have been instituted, but it is admittedly still far from perfect. Guests are initially permitted to unload at the Main Entrance, but are then often required to park in one of the lower lots, down by the gate house. Our brand-new free shuttle will pick you up at the entrance of your lot to take you right back up to the Main Entrance within a minute or two!

This newly-renovated home has everything you need for a relaxing getaway in the mountains. You'll have the best spot around for instant ski access right along the slopes of Sugar Mountain. After a day full of fresh powder, ski right up to your back door. The full kitchen is all yours to refuel after your adventures, and the dishwasher makes cleaning up a breeze. No matter what season you are here for, this slopeside house has you covered. Enjoy the wraparound deck as the leaves change in the fall, or look out the expansive windows to watch the skiers pass by from the warmth of your living room.

Sugar Mountain Resort is just up the street where you can visit the ski lodge for rentals, check out the ice skating rink, or even play a few holes on the golf course when the weather permits. Within a handful of miles, you can find yourself panning for gems at the Foggy Mountain Gem Mine, ziplining through the treetops at Hawksnest Ziplining, or walking across the Mile High Swinging Bridge to catch the amazing views of the mountains. If you're feeling really bold, you can head over to High Mountain Expeditions for some white water rafting.

The stone gas fireplace is the ideal place to relax in the winter. Staying in summer? Have dinner and a "sunset show" on the large deck. When it comes to entertainment, this condo doesn't miss. You can find a plethora of entertaining, family-friendly board games, books, and two smart TVs (one in the living room and another one in the bedroom). The space
Sweet as Sugar is a newly renovated, 1 bedroom condo at the heart of Sugar Mountain. We've worked hard to design a space that is cozy, but doesn't skimp on amenities!

Our bedroom features a King Sized Bed with 100% cotton sheets, a cozy brushed cotton spread, and an extra blanket for those chilly winter nights. Baseboard heat and a ceiling fan ensure you'll be comfortable no matter what time of year you visit!

Enjoy watching your favorite shows and movies from bed on our Smart TV... feel free to log in to any of the apps you enjoy at home! (guests must provide their login info) Touch bedside lamps, a sunrise alarm clock, and a weather information station are also available for your convenience.

Enjoy cooking your meals on vacation? Our fully stocked kitchen has all that you'll need! We supply all dishware, glassware, utensils, and plenty of cookware as well. The coffee maker makes both drip and k-cup coffee. Wine glasses, a microwave, a full-sized electric oven and range, a crock pot, and a blender are all available for you to use. We also have a full-size washer and dryer if you need to get some laundry done or dry out that wet ski gear!

Cozy up in our open-concept living space without feeling cut off from what's happening in the kitchen or outside on the deck! We have a sumptuous, full-sized leather couch, oversized leather chair and ottoman, and another Smart TV in this room for you to enjoy. A variety of board games and a dedicated workstation with a monitor ensure you can both work and play as needed. (Please note, due to Hurricane Helene the fireplace is not functional at this time.)

The bathroom has a tub shower combo with a large showerhead that can also be used as a handheld. Fluffy towels are provided!

One flight of stairs down to the main entrance, one short flight down to the condo door, and one short flight from the door down to the rooms are required for entry. All rooms of the condo are on one level.

We provide ski racks outside the door of the condo for all of your equipment! Please, no ski boots or golf shoes in the condo to prevent marking the floors.

What does this mean for you?

In colder / snowy seasons: you WILL need snow tires or chains, and an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle. The weather on Sugar can change in an instant, and we may not be able to accommodate adding extra days to your stay in inclement weather. Please ensure your vehicle is equipped properly for mountain driving in the snow.

In warmer seasons: please watch carefully for wildlife. We have foxes, deer, and even bears on Sugar! Do not leave any food or trash outside the condo. Do not leave food in your vehicles. Please drive carefully as we frequently see newborn deer crossing the roads in late spring / early summer.

*** Please remember that we do get snow, rain, fog, and other occasional inconveniences that are out of our control here in the mountains. Winter weather can occur here from November through April. This property is accessed and maintained via a paved road and a paved parking area which may be icy or snowy during winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means four-wheel drive, good tires, and possibly snow chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for potentially hazardous road conditions. There will be no refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from weather conditions out of our control. ***

While the deck does have stairs leading down to the ground, we ask that guests not use them as the terrain is very steep. For your own safety, please use the front of the condo for entry and exit.
