Electric Heat with thermostat. The unit does not have A/C, as summers in Sugar Mountain are cool. However, you can open the windows and the sliding door in the living room to let in the cool mountain breeze. The unit has ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room if needed.

When you stay with us, you are in good hands! Prior to renting out this cabin, my son and I owned a property outside Asheville that we successfully rented out on this platform and self-managed for 7 years, with over 200 5-star reviews! Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway are both a quick 10 to 15-minute drive, with tons of world-class hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, and skiing close by. Venture into Boone (~30 mins) for a visit to Kidd Brewer Stadium or a stroll down King Street; ride the Alpine Coaster (~25 mins); hike Profile Trail (~25 mins); ski at Sugar Mountain (~30 mins); or check out one (…or three) of the nearby wineries.

The main space offers an open concept kitchen, dining, and living room with a large sectional couch and plenty of space to relax. Fire up the Roku TV to stream your favorite shows or sporting events (must provide your own login), or lounge on the chaise with a book and a beverage. An additional sleeping (or movie watching) space is available on the full-sized pull-out couch.

The dining table with seating for 4 (extra leaf available) is perfect for a game night, buffet style meal, or remote office with a view.

Start your day watching the sunrise with coffee from the 12-cup drip coffee maker (filters provided) or make a few cups in the French Press.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the pots, pans, and utensils needed to cook up a large family meal for 4 including a blender, mixer, crock pot and a large, deep sink with sprayer faucet. Utilize the drop-leaf kitchen island for additional prep/service space. The refrigerator/freezer has an automatic ice maker but no filtered water dispenser – the tap water (from a well) is perfectly fine to drink and is some of the best tasting filtered mountain water you can get.

*Note* there is no garbage disposal and the cabin is on a septic system, so please don’t dump food or grease down the drain!

BEDROOM
Sleep off the day of exploring in the King bed with a comfortable, thick duvet (lighter quilt available in the summer months) and blackout curtains. A second HDTV equipped with Roku is in the bedroom. The spacious walk-in closet offers storage for all your luggage, jackets, and outdoor gear.

BATHROOM
The bathroom, which is detached from the bedroom, offers a large walk-in shower and bench seat (no tub) with all the basic amenities you’ll need throughout your stay.

LAUNDRY
Connecting the bedroom and bathroom is a small hallway with full-sized washer and dryer and a few laundry pods to get you started.

WIFI/CELL SERVICE
Cell signal is generally strong inside the cabin thanks to the signal booster, but can be unreliable in the surrounding areas. The home is equipped with Starlink high-speed satellite internet offering speeds of up to 100+ mbps. Remote work or streaming should be no issue, however please note: we are in the mountains after all, and you may experience rare but short intermittent outages from time to time.

OUTDOOR SPACE
Sit on the covered porch and enjoy a mountain thunderstorm, hang out in the bistro area, or venture to the fire pit for some smores.

Other notes: This cabin is accessed by a paved state-maintained road that is plowed in Winter but is very steep. 4WD or AWD is REQUIRED Dec-Feb for Winter. Cell signal is generally strong inside the cabin, but can be unreliable in the surrounding areas.

Little Bear Escape is a custom built single-bedroom luxury cabin and is just down the road from its larger counterpart 'Big Bear Escape'. Privately located off the road, it's perfect for those looking for a romantic getaway surrounded by nature. This luxury cabin offers seasonal mountain views and is conveniently located between Boone and Banner Elk with just a short drive to either.

Enter the main level of this spacious home from the parking area up just 6 steps to a large floating deck. The front door opens into the spacious great room which features a large mounted smart TV, a queen pull-out couch and a cozy wood burning fireplace. The floor to ceiling windows paired with high ceilings and multiple skylights make you feel that you are truly a part of the surrounding forest landscape while offering stunning seasonal views of Grandfather Mountain.

On the south side of the great room is the dining area with comfortable seating for all and forest views through the large windows. Adjacent to the dining area is the fully-equipped kitchen featuring a custom built island, stainless steel appliances, soft-closing cabinets and high quality silverware, knives, and cookware.

- "All good. Recommend highly." - "A great little cabin that had a great view from the porch. Everything you would need was provided, and it was immaculately clean and comfortable. Easy access to both Sugar, Grandfather, and Beech Mountains. Awesome points- Fireplace was easy to work and with our FL family, my kids wanted it on nearly every moment we were in the house. The porch was great with gorgeous views. The kitchen had nearly everything we needed and it was very clean and easy to use. The linens were really comfy and so were the beds. The door lock was easy to operate. The loft was adorable. Ceiling height was a bit of a challenge for my 6'2" teenager but short folks would not have an issue. Haha. Points to note if you book- the entrance to the street is basically a secret passage through the woods. Nearly hidden in the dark when we arrived. When the lights are out, the cabin is difficult to locate so if you can arrive while the sun is up, do so. We found it after a few minutes and my minivan didnt have an issue getting up the driveway. Had it been snowy that might have different. There wasnt a cookie sheet in the cabin so making quick frozen things like chicken nuggets for the kids took creativity but that could be easily remedied. There is not a lot of insulation between the loft and the downstairs bedroom so privacy between the two bedrooms should not be expected. Its not a problem, just something to note. All these things are minor and we would definitely rent this cabin again and recommend it for others!"

All the amenities you could need. Crockpot, blender, knives, cutting boards, bar accessories, pyrex, pots and pans, spices, olive oil.

PLEASE NOTE: There is NO garbage disposal or filtered water dispenser on the refrigerator. We do however provide a water filtration pitcher for your use during your stay.

MASTER BEDROOM -
King bed featuring a Tuft and Needle mattress and West Elm bedding with dual zone heated mattress topper. USB outlets and power outlets are located in nightstands. There is no closet. The fireplace in the bedroom is decorative. The sound machine and salt lamp add the perfect soft touches.

SECOND BEDROOM-
Custom-built bunk beds and a queen bed. The queen bed is also a Tuft and Needle mattress. Two leather beanbags and some twinkle lights make this room extra fun. Not a room just for kids but anyone can enjoy it. No closet.

SHARED BATHROOM-
A beautiful space with a shower/bath combo. The sink was carved from a rock pulled from the river on the property and hung with care.

DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM-
Custom stonework shower with a rain shower head and a carved stone sink. Feels like a rustic spa.

OUTDOOR SPACE-
A wrap-around deck with a 6-person table under string lights plus a porch swing and a couple of rocking chairs. Fire pit for s'mores and a large backyard to run around.

Other things to note:
A 4-wheel or all-wheel drive is needed on snowy days for our road/driveway. You will have to cross a small wooden bridge.

- Firewood may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets into this home.

- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.

- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement. CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled with a 15+ day notice will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 8-14 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of their reservation payments. Bookings canceled within 7 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

You'll have access to amenities golf, tennis, pickleball, a community pool, shuffleboard, a 45-acre lake with canoes, excellent fishing spots, and even a dog park!

The king sized bedroom is located on the entry level living area along with a full bath. This level also includes a full kitchen and a Keurig with pour over coffee maker. A seating area off the kitchen along with a large dining table and gas fireplace. There is also spacious den that has a huge comfy couch, a 65 inch smart TV with cable and large windows with fabulous views.

The queen bedroom is located on the lower level with a full bath. Plenty of seating along with a gas fireplace, TV with cable and believe it or not another fully stocked kitchen! Walk right out to the hot tub.

Two air mattress can be found in the closet upstairs if you need additional sleeping space.

On Tangle Time main level we have panoramic views from every window facing the moutains . This retreat has 3 bedrooms and 3 connected bathrooms, sleeping up to 12. Two main-level King Master Suites, a queen/twin bunk room downstairs (with 2 bunk beds), plus a queen sleeper sofa. Enjoy a cozy living area with fireplace, fully stocked kitchen with coffee pot, and large dining table. Downstairs features a second living area with bumper pool, card table, and game closet. TVs, noise machines, and heaters in all bathrooms.

Enjoy time outside on our back deck, in the hot tub, or around the fire pit, all of which have beautiful year round views of Grandfather Mountain.

In case of snow, 4WD or AWD are necessary to drive up the mountain. Snow chains are needed for guests who do not have 4WD and AWD vehicles when snow is present. Please note that having safe transportation is the guests responsibility. We also have a snow blower in case you need it for the driveway.

Come stay in our cottage in the quiet little town of Linville NC. This cottage is less than half a mile from the Eseeola Lodge and less than 10 minutes from Grandfather mountain. Banner Elk and Boone are 15 and 25 minutes away by car. The area is known for wonderful hiking, fly fishing, cycling, whitewater rafting, skiing, and golfing.
