“Rocky Meadows" is our home my husband and I now use for short term vacation rental. "Rocky Meadows" is close to 221 but has a feeling of seclusion. Sits on 3 acres, no other houses visible. There are two bedrooms, a queen-size bed in one and a bunk that has a full-size bottom bed with a twin in the upper. The great room was designed with family time in mind. The covered back deck has a patio table chairs and gas grill for outdoor entertaining. We have a full basement that is pretty much empty except for the washer and dryer. Designed and built by the owners this simple cabin utilizes many re-purposed materials. The floors are oak drawer fronts that were free and obtained from a cabinet shop that closed. The walls and ceilings are finished yellow pine, the window and door casings have Sweet Gum boards. All of these boards were cut off the property then dried and milled.

The Little Log Cabin, aptly named, is a charming cabin in the woods ideal for relaxing, exploring, and enjoying all that the beautiful High Country has to offer.

Small but mighty, this 730 sq ft cabin sits at around ~3500 ft elevation, features picture windows throughout offering beautiful year-round long-range views. hope you find Little Log Cabin as magical as I do!

The cabin is centrally located in the Wilson Creek area between Blowing Rock and Linville - just ~20-25 minutes to each. Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway are both a quick 10 to 15-minute drive, with tons of world-class hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, and skiing close by. Venture into Boone (~30 mins) for a visit to Kidd Brewer Stadium or a stroll down King Street; ride the Alpine Coaster (~25 mins); hike Profile Trail (~25 mins); ski at Sugar Mountain (~30 mins); or check out one (…or three) of the nearby wineries.

The main space offers an open concept kitchen, dining, and living room with a large sectional couch and plenty of space to relax. Fire up the Roku TV to stream your favorite shows or sporting events (must provide your own login), or lounge on the chaise with a book and a beverage. An additional sleeping (or movie watching) space is available on the full-sized pull-out couch.

The dining table with seating for 4 (extra leaf available) is perfect for a game night, buffet style meal, or remote office with a view.

Start your day watching the sunrise with coffee from the 12-cup drip coffee maker (filters provided) or make a few cups in the French Press.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the pots, pans, and utensils needed to cook up a large family meal for 4 including a blender, mixer, crock pot and a large, deep sink with sprayer faucet. Utilize the drop-leaf kitchen island for additional prep/service space. The refrigerator/freezer has an automatic ice maker but no filtered water dispenser – the tap water (from a well) is perfectly fine to drink and is some of the best tasting filtered mountain water you can get.

*Note* there is no garbage disposal and the cabin is on a septic system, so please don’t dump food or grease down the drain!

BEDROOM
Sleep off the day of exploring in the King bed with a comfortable, thick duvet (lighter quilt available in the summer months) and blackout curtains. A second HDTV equipped with Roku is in the bedroom. The spacious walk-in closet offers storage for all your luggage, jackets, and outdoor gear.

BATHROOM
The bathroom, which is detached from the bedroom, offers a large walk-in shower and bench seat (no tub) with all the basic amenities you’ll need throughout your stay.

LAUNDRY
Connecting the bedroom and bathroom is a small hallway with full-sized washer and dryer and a few laundry pods to get you started.

WIFI/CELL SERVICE
Cell signal is generally strong inside the cabin thanks to the signal booster, but can be unreliable in the surrounding areas. The home is equipped with Starlink high-speed satellite internet offering speeds of up to 100+ mbps. Remote work or streaming should be no issue, however please note: we are in the mountains after all, and you may experience rare but short intermittent outages from time to time.

OUTDOOR SPACE
Sit on the covered porch and enjoy a mountain thunderstorm, hang out in the bistro area, or venture to the fire pit for some smores.

Other notes: This cabin is accessed by a paved state-maintained road that is plowed in Winter but is very steep. 4WD or AWD is REQUIRED Dec-Feb for Winter. Cell signal is generally strong inside the cabin, but can be unreliable in the surrounding areas.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: some people take themselves too seriously those people shouldn’t rent they should own or try to own - and are not who I want to stay as my guest. Look at the photos make sure it’s what you want because it’s moot to book it then complain as the recent Jill H did, apparently she has other deeper issues and expectations. The sheet she is referring to is a couch cover covering 2 Ralph Lauren sofas that I have no intention of replacing. The couch hovers are there to provide a sanitary environment we can launder them. The leather broyhill recliner is distressed leather and its look is the way it’s made to look. If that offends you then don’t book our loft. If you want new pls choose a new hotel and pay the going rate. The Loft is located on Sunset Drive very close to the park and main st. in the heart of Blowing Rock! If you pop in to see the space we cannot show it during rentals, but I am also happy to set up an appointment. The loft is located in our Hallmark Building, an extraordinary mixed use property located in The Heart of Blowing Rock, an idyllic historic town. The Town of Blowing Rock is a historic gem of the high country where you can escape the hustle bustle and explore natures beauty. Take long hikes and immerse yourself in flora and fauna. The Loft is located in very close proximity to Main Street. It is for adventurous travelers who want to be as close to Main St as possible, want a good comfortable king bed, great internet, some open separate work-space, a living room area that is separate from the bed room in downtown Blowing Rock. The building is a mixed use multi functioning property, if you are expecting a mansion or a boutique hotel or a cabin in the woods, then this is not for you, this is downtown living. There is an exterior front of building photo showing our other businesses separate from the loft, of which none of this impacts the rental. It’s for easy going low maintenance guests who want a clean private loft in walking distance to the park and Main St. and all the dining options in walking distance. Please ask me all questions prior to booking, there is no refunds for confirmations who did not read in detail: no parties no pets no events no sublease, only the approved guest/s are permitted. Once booked, you will have the Loft to yourself. This beats a room in someone's shared house or a cramped hotel room. Because of Ms Ashburns review everything was as described yet she found a few minor items to pick on, I have turned instant booking off. Apparently reading the description isn’t enough for some people and I only want happy customers so ask questions or book elsewhere. One shouldn’t order Champaign on a beer budget in the town of Blowing Rock and then be a critic as if you paid for Champaign’. I do not need the negative people, rather book something else and pay the appropriate price for location. I rearranged the living room and the recliner now faces the tv without the extension cord see updated photos. Winters are challenging in the high country and we always have backup certified radiant heaters in addition to the central heat to keep our building warm. I also posted a picture of the crack in the window she mentioned then you can decide if this will impact your stay, it’s a double paned window the crack is on the inside pane. Everything else is perfect in the loft modern clean, updated and well maintained; but this cracked window is not something I plan to replace until I undertake a huge construction project of replacing all the bay windows. If any of this offends you please don't stay here. We are offering a lovely suite in our building for a vacation getaway for a single person or a couple only. We work in the downstairs space separated from upstairs and sometimes our esthetician schedules facials but never during your stay. We do not interrupt your stay but you are also welcome to schedule a private facial. The Loft is private, quiet and amazing rare in-town location. What I love about staying here and I do on occasion is being able to walk to restaurants, you don't have to worry about driving if you have enjoyed some beverages. You will have full private access to kitchenette and lots of fine dining to walk to or order in. There is a coffee maker, toaster, microwave and refrigerator. We own a cafe downstairs that is open on weekends and holidays. And we will include daily fresh coffee/cappuccino or espresso during your stay when we are open. The Loft offers 1 Bedroom w King bed/Full Bathroom/Shower, lounge area, wifi desk to work at on bamboo wood floors, no carpet.. I am a clean freak, hands on and expect you will find our place to be impeccable. This is Blowing Rock and sometimes the winds are high, you could expect the attic shutters to rattle a bit if there is extreme high winds, par for the course of living in Blowing Rock! Being in town on weekdays comes with some early morning hustle bustle. If youre a light sleeper or late riser this is not for you. Our building is concrete and I have never found it to be an issue but there is that tendency.

The Loft includes a private room with a beautiful king bed, a full bathroom and a kitchenette area with a fridge, coffee maker, toaster and convection oven, approx 1000sqft with updated bamboo wood floors and tile in the bathroom. The living room has a roomy leather recliner!

The Blowing Rock public outdoor pool is available day passes may be purchased through the town.

You have to climb 15-20 stairs to get to it, but not a big deal for us. Located on Appalachian Ski Mountain, this beautiful 5 sleeping area, 3 bath home sleeps 10 and offers all of the comforts of high-end living.

The main level boasts a spacious living room with 20-foot high, exposed beam, vaulted ceilings, a gas log stone fireplace, 65 inch HD cable TV, a dining room that seats 8, a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and stacked stone island with additional seating for 8. The main floor is surrounded by a huge wrap-around deck with gas grill and views of the ski slope on one side and mountain ranges on the other.

Also on this level are a full bathroom with granite counters, a bedroom with queen-sized bed, window seat and TV, as well as a spacious master suite with Aspen King bed with flat screen TV and a private bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, separate double shower and flat screen TV. The master suite has a huge walk-in closet large enough for a portable crib.

Downstairs is a second living area with gas log stone fireplace, 62inch cable TV and a second deck surrounded by privacy landscaping with a 6 person Hot Tub. This room also has several video arcade games including Golden Tee, a touchcreen game, and a bowling game called SilverStrike2009; and a foosball table. Adjacent to this living area is the game room with an 8 foot pool table and flat screen TV. Finishing out the downstairs level are a bedroom with a queen bed, a bedroom with a full bed, a private room with 2 twin beds, and a large full bathroom.

This home is located at over 4200' elevation, and enjoys heavy snowfall in winter months.

- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided.

There's a plethora of fantastic, must-visit attractions in the area, including The Blowing Rock, Appalachian Ski Mountain, Grandfather Mountain State Park, Sugar Mountain Resort, Mile High Swinging Bridge, and Beech Mountain Ski Resort.

One of the best features of this home is its ample room to spread out comfortably, including two large great rooms - one on the main level and a second downstairs. The primary living area offers a gorgeous gas fireplace and a smart TV where you can stream your favorite shows and movies. The second living area enjoys another smart TV. Choose your favorite sofa, curl up, and get ready for a thrilling movie night!

The beautiful dining table allows for memorable family meals together. When mealtime comes, put on the chef's apron and surprise your loved ones with delicious culinary masterpieces. The well-appointed kitchen has all the essentials to show off your cooking skills, including two coffee makers (drip and Keurig).

There are numerous decks to enjoy the outdoors, indulge in a soothing soak in the hot tub, and take in a seasonal long-range view, helping to make this a special home away from home and year-round treasure. Additional perks include a jetted tub, a gas grill, and board games.

- "We enjoyed your property" - "Close to town and great decks." - "We enjoyed the stay but thought the photos made it look more light and airy. There was an overfilled garbage can adjacent to the garage with rotten garbage to the extent we could not park near it. The house was clean but very hot and humid when we arrived with only a floor space air conditioner that did not seem to get the house very cool. It gave the house a very stale or moldy smell that did bother our allergies. Sounds like a lot of criticism but those were not prohibitive for us enjoying our stay. I just described them so that the homeowner might want to alleviate some of those."

Hill House is the perfect place to stay in downtown Blowing Rock. It sits less than a block away from historic Main Street on the edge of a quiet local neighborhood. Stroll downtown to enjoy locally owned restaurants, shops, breweries and the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum. Then enjoy a private evening at home, relaxing in front of a fire or enjoying the outdoor hot tub and patio space. This completely updated and upscale home is the perfect spot for a family trip, ski week, romantic getaway or a friends trip.

There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with a Queen bed and one with bunk beds (twin over full). The open space upstairs includes a well appointed kitchen, a full bath, a large dining area, and a comfortable living room with a gas fireplace. From the balcony or the comfort of your living room, you can watch as the leaves change, the snow falls, or people walk along Main Street. In the summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the music from the Speckled Trout.
Downstairs is another living area with a foosball table, comfortable seating, and a sofa bed. The bedroom downstairs boasts a king bed and a luxurious ensuite. A door also leads outside to the hot tub which is mere feet away - convenient for those who like a warm soak on those cold winter nights.
Hill House is not only adjacent to downtown Main Street but is nearby to many popular attractions such as The Blowing Rock, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Appalachian Ski Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, and the Glen Burney Falls Trail. Blowing Rock is very dog friendly, and we are too. You may bring up to three of your dogs, and they stay free. There are two private driveways which hold 3-4 vehicles in total. This is a full-time rental which is professionally cleaned and cared for.

ABOUT "THE BEAR DEN":

"The Bear Den" is a 1600sf 3BR 2BA cabin the in Blowing Rock, NC. A stellar location between Blowing Rock and Boone with 6.7 acres of wooded privacy.

There's a spacious kitchen with granite countertops and stainless appliances and hardwood flooring. The master suite is up 6 steps from the main level offering privacy from 2 other guest rooms (Daisy and Fern Rooms). There's a front porch to enjoy a coffee or wine outdoors.

Please note that your room is quiet and private, but it is located inside the home so there is not a private outside entrance to your room. I rent 2 of the 3 bedrooms on AirBnB. There may be other people staying while you're here.

Due to living on a mountain, my driveway may be inaccessible in snow/ice. Sometimes I’m motivated and shovel it, other times I park and walk up/down. I will offer a full refund if weather prevents us from access. Welcome to the mountains!

You will get an access code at check-in that will expire after your stay. In addition to your room, you'll also have access to the common living room and dining area. I do not share my kitchen. Enjoy the common areas at your leisure. Please respect locked doors/closets.

Located 10-20 minutes from all the High Country has to offer. One mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 2.5 miles from Tweetsie Railroad, 4 miles to downtown Blowing Rock, and 7 miles to Boone all on easy access roads.

We live in the house full time and there may be some noise from our movement.

The suite includes 2 private and adjoined rooms plus a bathroom. The second bedroom can be set up as either a 2nd bed (futon) or a sitting room.

The space
This space offers a 2-room Master suite with a private bathroom, deck space, and private entrance. The 2 rooms have a door separating them allowing for some privacy within the suite as well. Great for families with children or couples who want a little extra space to relax. The larger room has a queen size bed and the smaller room has a full size futon that can either be set up as a couch for a sitting room OR a double bed if a second bed is needed. Guests will be able to fully control the heat and air to their comfort level. In the spring and summer months, relax on the deck directly outside the suite in comfortable outdoor furniture.

Guest access
Pull right up from easy access paved roads (kind of a big deal in the high country) to plenty of parking and direct access to the 2-room suite on the main level. Guests have a private full bath inside the suite. To all guests who are interested, there is always fresh coffee and breakfast snack items provided in the morning (breakfast bars, oatmeal, etc.). We provide a Keurig for coffee and a hot water kettle for tea. There is no microwave, so please plan accordingly.

Other things to note
We live in the house as well, so it is important to be aware that you may hear noise from us every now and then, though we do work very hard to be as quiet as possible when we know there are guests in the house. My middle school aged son absolutely loves having guests and making new friends with guests. We welcome other families with young children but for those who don't prefer to be around other children, the Master suite is in a private area of the house. We live above a road that does have some traffic noise, so please be prepared for that.

This no-frills, budget-friendly, small cabin tucked in the rhododendrons is the perfect personal hideaway!  This home is on a gravel residential street with many neighbors close to hiking, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Linn Cove Viaduct, Price Lake, Cone Manor and more!

The property features a living room/kitchen area with wood floors throughout and a 43" Smart TV with Spectrum Streaming and updated Spectrum WiFi/Router, full kitchen, deluxe bath with larger corner jetted tub plus separate shower and full-size washer and dryer. Stay for a couple of nights or a couple of months and have everything you need right here.  Cell service is limited, but a landline is provided for local calls/emergencies.

Well-behaved pets are allowed with prior approval and there is a backyard.

Enjoy restful moments on the sweet covered porch overlooking the trees and backyard with a small winter view of Grandfather Mountain. Cabin has WiFi and satellite TV plus land-line phone if your cell phone doesn't work in the mountains.

Nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains only ten minutes from both downtown Boone, Blowing Rock, App Ski, and Blue Ridge Parkway hiking, this fully-equipped tiny house on wheels is a great spot for vacation or an extended stay in the Appalachians.

Note: this is a tiny house. It is 8' x 26'. It is very comfortable for up to two people (maybe three if the third is a very small child). No pets please

We back up to the Blue Ridge Conservancy with 46 acres of woods (and 2 miles of trails) in the backyard. And... we're right off of hwy 321, 5 minutes from grocery stores. It's the perfect balance of secluded and accessible.

My husband, daughter, and I live right up the road and purchased the property with an eye to having a tiny house on the adjoining lot. It's a lovely home with a fully functional small kitchen (apartment size fridge, two-eye stove, countertop convection oven /air fryer), Tempur-pedic queen bed, and huge windows looking out into rhododendron forests.

Activities nearby include: Appstate football games, skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, bird-watching, shopping, great restaurants (ask for recommendations), breweries, and just being quiet (my personal favorite). Watauga Hospital is 7 minutes away, and we are very happy to arrange travel nurse accommodations.

Regarding accessibility: there are four steps leading up to the entrance and the toilet is low (gah! miscommunication with the contractor). Walk-in shower (42"x32"). Our road is gravel and fairly steep. There are a handful of days out of the year when you will need AWD or 4x4 to navigate snow/ice. Or you can park down at the bottom of the hill and walk up the steep road.

Blowing Rock and Boone were impacted by Hurricane Helene. The surrounding areas were even more damaged. Please respect the boundaries established by responders to reduce traffic on compromised roads. Families here are hurting. We all need grace from one another. Please support our locally-owned businesses and consider donating (money is much less of a burden than things) to local organizations.

You will have the full property to yourself. We live next door, but the rhododendrons and pines give full privacy.

Just writing this again here: it's a tiny house. Please do not try to fit more than two adults in here. It just wouldn't be remotely comfortable or safe.

Enjoy the best of both worlds with a peaceful mountain escape that is just a short 5 minute walk to Blowing Rock Main Street, shops, dining, hikes.

The space
Enjoy the private lower level apartment that has separate walkway and private entrance to a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment with wash/dryer, space for kitchen prep and cooking (note there is a hot plate and toaster oven, not a built in range/oven as part of this set up and no dishwasher).

The apartment is below our private (not for rent) cabin and you have access to the yard/wooded area around the cabin and a dedicated fire pit area with Adirondack chairs that is just for the lower level apartment.

There is oarking for 1 car at the top of the walkway (stairs for access) and if needed a further parking area.

The one bedroom has a queen and a small work table for remote work if needed. The apartment is 600 sq feet and most comfortable for 2 people but with couches that pull out to twin beds it also can fit 4 people or a small family.

We allow one dog as pet assuming it is well trained and leashed. This is a nice quiet area with mostly all locals and so no loud parties or events or major disruptions to the neighbors are permitted.

The cabin is just a 5 minutes walk from Speckled Trout, Camp Coffee and all the wonderful shops and activities Blowing Rock has to offer. You can also walk to via the sidewalks now in place to Bass Lake from here.

This home, due to town restrictions is only available for monthly or longer rentals. Access to the cabin living spaces above the apartment is not included in the rental and not permitted.

Note:  At the current time there is a minor leak in the shower that causes the floor of the shower to stay wet.  It is not much of an issue for most guests, but fixing the leak is going to require the participation of the Town of Blowing Rock and other building occupants in shutting down the water to the building, which includes retail space.  This repair is in the process of being scheduled.

This cute, ground-floor Royal Oaks condo within walking distance of downtown Blowing Rock will be your favorite go-to lodging for affordable trips to Blowing Rock, to enjoy all the shopping, dining, and events Blowing Rock offers. There is an adjacent eating area and a full kitchen so you can cook and eat in if you wish. The kitchen has a range/oven, microwave, dishwasher, and full-size refrigerator. And the dining area has a mini-fridge to keep your beverages cool.  Not in the mood for cooking? Order a meal from DoorDash, Uber Eats, or other local delivery services. There is a cabinet with extra dishes and china in the dining area. 

You can also have your morning tea or coffee in the small patio area and enjoy the fresh mountain air. There is a round patio table with two chairs.

The condo has two queen bedrooms, two en-suite baths, closets, and cute, comfortable bedding and decor.
