Blinds were taped up, toilet paper holder downstairs bathroom was broken & lights didn't work, upstairs bathroom toilet seat was broken (with new seat ready for you to install), coffee pot was broken & dumped on my leg. Banister rail on upstairs main entrance is about to fall off & not secure (definitely a safety hazard). Clearly not the property we were promised. Home description shows 2 queen beds that are actually full size beds. We booked this home for 8 people for 2 nights. We were only given 1 washcloth, hand towel, and towel per person for the entire stay. They only had 1 trash bag in the entire house & then you have to haul off your trash when you leave. Upon check-in, property manager stated they only hand out keys & clean homes (obviously not being done but their going to charge you $85 for). Contacted Hotels.com for resolution. Definitely RENTER BEWARE when booking this property! I booked this home because it had an exceptional 10 review. Once we saw the condition of the home, my sister saw there was another bad review that was being hidden. I have photos."

We really enjoy the smell of the woods, the beautiful deer that wander around the property. We are close to restaurants and easy drive over to buckeye creek and many hiking trails. Our 4 bedroom/ 3 bathroom home sits on the banks of the Watauga River. It has been completely renovated inside and outside with high-end finishes, featuring vaulted ceilings in the living area, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, Brazilian Koa hardwood floors, and gas fireplace. Downstairs bedrooms include a Queen bed with adjacent bathroom, kids room with a bunk bed and trundle bed, with two bedrooms upstairs, one a king and one a queen.

Add that to the sunny view of distant mountains, fire pit below the house and fairly easy ingress into the house (8 stair steps) and you've got a home that promises to be warm, welcoming and worthy of your consideration.
The main level touts 2 guest bedrooms (1 king and 1 twin trundle) that share a bath. The kitchen/dining/living area is fresh, bright and open. The kitchen is fully equipped and a joy to use, with more accouterments than most. In the warm months visit the resort for some mountain biking or disc golf, or take a hike on the many hiking trails on Beech Mountain. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the main level and 3 additional beds in the loft area, accommodating 6 comfortably. The large, open basement has an additional full bathroom, laundry room, game/poker table and reclining sofa and love seat. Come watch the game or bring your game console to play on the 60 inch 4K TV. An HDMI cord and a Nintendo Switch charging cord is provided if you would like to bring your dock and system.

Take a look in the cabinets under the benches - you will find numerous board games and some toys/art supplies.

The deck outside the kitchen has an 4 person dining table and a sectional. It also has string lights! Sit and relax while listening to the trickling water.

There is a deluxe stone fire pit area complete with lighting and adirondack chairs, so bring your s'mores supplies for an cool, crisp evening around the fire.

In the event of snow, a snow shovel and salt is provided for your use at the property. The town scrapes the roads but it can take a while for them to get to all of the roads. As mentioned in the rules, a 4 wheel drive vehicle or snow chains are required in the event that it snows/ices. You will get stuck and be unable to leave if it snows and you aren't prepared.

Speaking of snow, please be prepared with groceries. Always bring extra food just in case you are snowed in. We have Fred's general store which has some basics, as well as Food Lion off the mountain. It is often easier to get what you need for the first night if possible.

Starter essential supplies are provided: paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, a dishwasher pod and a laundry pod. You will likely need to bring extra supplies.

In the bathrooms, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and lotion are provided.

Spices, flour, sugar, cooking spray, aluminum foil, parchment paper, etc. are provided as well as a few k-cups of coffee/hot chocolate. Cleaning supplies, if needed, are available in the laundry room as well as under the kitchen sink. Our coffee maker has both single serve and the full size coffee pot. All cooking utensils, etc are provided. You should have everything you need but feel free to message and ask!

Baby items are available in the laundry room: Pack n' play, high chair, booster seat and two sets of bed bumpers.

All small matters (no biggie). Things that actually mattered were great. Linen towels, linen on beds, etc. Also being close the Beech Mountain Resort was perfect. A full run down was printed so I could follow to the T. I would most definitely recommend this property. A must stay if you want privacy & space."

Enjoy a cozy living area with fireplace, fully stocked kitchen with coffee pot, and large dining table. Downstairs features a second living area with bumper pool, card table, and game closet. In case of snow, 4WD or AWD are necessary to drive up the mountain. Snow chains are needed for guests who do not have 4WD and AWD vehicles when snow is present. We do our best to hire snow removal to make the cabin as safe and accessible as possible and we have a snow plow machine that guests are welcomed to use during their stay. Please note that having safe transportation is the guests responsibility. We also have a snow blower in case you need it for the driveway.

Mountain Escape offers accommodations in Sugar Mountain, 3.3 miles from Sugar Mountain and 10 miles from Grandfather Mountain. The apartment has access to a restaurant. Although the Town of Beech Mountain does a great job clearing snow off of the main roads quickly in the winter months it is highly recommended to have 4WD or AWD to access Beech Mountain. During winter months we highly recommend bringing snow chains to assist.

Thoughtfully designed with a private entrance and separate mud room, walking in you are greeted with a brand new kitchenette providing all of the essentials. Opening to the main room, there is a flex space sitting area/table with comfy fold out chairs and dresser unit. A comfy queen sized bed faces a retractable flat screen smart TV with an upgraded sound system. From here, a stylish, sliding barn door leads into the newly renovated bathroom with a brand new, tiled walk-in shower.

*A stairwell from the mudroom leads to a locked door for the owner's unit above, but the stairwell will not be used.

Please note that while you cannot park outside the unit, you may use the access road at the end of Northridge road for dropping off and picking up (luggage and people). AWD vehicles are required in the winter months. If there is heavy snow and ice, the access road will be closed.

From the parking area, there are approximately 75 steps to access the unit. Obviously much easier going down than going up, but if take your time, you can have a nice leg warmup without feeling out of breath.

There is a $30 pet fee. For those folks who are allergic to pets, please note, this pet fee goes toward deep cleanings to ensure the unit is free of any pet dander for all travelers.

The space
Only 1/2 mile up a state-maintained, dead-end gravel road (= it is a little bumpy, but you should not need 4x4 except in winter), you will find it convenient to get to our 950 sq-ft downstairs unit which offers a little space for you to get away from it all. Our house is set up like a duplex - this unit is downstairs. Built in the mid-1970s (with a few updates to kitchen/bath, etc) it is simple, with just the basics, but think you’ll find it comfortable and a great home-base for exploring.

Less than 2 miles away at Sugar Mtn. you can Mountain bike, play a round of golf or hit some tennis balls (in summer), or ski/snowboard, tube, and ice skate (in winter). Beech Mtn. is only 7 miles away and offers much of the same and they have an awesome brewery & 5506 mountain top bar too! Banner Elk also has a brewery and winery within 10 min. of the house, and there are several others within 15-25 minutes. If you’re hungry ~15 restaurants of all varieties are within a 5-10 min. drive, and if entertainment is what you’re after, there are plays, live music, and even some ridiculous karaoke to enjoy, with events happening many nights of the week.

You will have full access to the downstairs of our house, which includes an open den/dining/kitchen area, 2 bedrooms and a bath. The house is set up like a duplex. The unit upstairs that has a completely separate driveway & entrance from downstairs, so although you will have the downstairs living spaces all to yourself, you may hear footsteps from us or our guests in the upstairs unit.
There’s space for you to park only 1 car, and a peaceful deck where you can chill.

Well behaved, house trained dogs allowed upon approval. No cats or other pets allowed.
If we have confirmed that your pup can stay with you during your trip, you will be charged a pet fee of $25/day/pup that we will collect from you through the AirBnB resolution center after we accept the reservation but before your trip. 

You are required to ensure your pup is well behaved, does not bark while inside, stays off furniture, is crated if you leave him/her alone, doesn’t chew anything that is not your property, is fully housebroken, and is up-to-date on all shots and flea and tick medicine. You will need to ensure your pup only uses the bathroom outside in our yard and you must pick-up/bag all waste. Additionally, your pup must be leashed at all times (Want to make sure they stay safe).

Arnett Road is located between Extreme Snowboard and Ski shop and Sugar Creek Mining Company. Super close to the Alpine Coaster, Puerto Nuevo, a bike shop and fabulous Sugar Mountain itself.
1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and a sofa bed in the living area provides space for a maximum of 4 guests. Gravel driveway right outside your door makes for easy parking, and driving to the ski area is a breeze since it's only a mile away.

Guest access
All arrivals packets for units without smart locks are currently being left in the Late Arrivals box next to the door. This helps reduce contact during this time of Covid-19 and flu season. While the rental office is closed to the public, we're always available by phone or appointment. Arriving earlier than 4pm? Let us know! If it's possible for you to check in earlier, we'll be happy to do it. However, if someone is leaving the morning of your arrival, this can be difficult.

Other things to note
All our properties are set up with 3 towels and 3 washcloths per bathroom. We provide a starter roll of toilet paper, two small bars of soap, and a garbage can liner per bathroom. Kitchens have a dishcloth and towel, dish detergent, dishwasher detergent if applicable, and a garbage can liner. Beds are made up with fresh sheets and pillow cases, and sofa beds have fresh sets of sheets either stacked on the sofa or placed nearby. We do not provide a daily housekeeping service or replenish the starter supplies. What to bring: Paper towels, extra toilet paper, extra soap, coffee, coffee filters, cooking supplies such as cooking sprays, oils, spices and foil. Rental units do have appliances large and small, dishes, utensils, and pots and pans. If staying at Sugar Top, don’t forget to bring your pool towels! If you’re coming in the warm summer months, bring a jacket just in case. If you’re coming in the cold winter months, bring something lighter weight, just in case. Our weather is infamous for it’s quick changes!

Memory's Guest House is a 3 bedroom/ 2 bath home with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room with a craft/puzzle area, a large storage room (great for storing sports equipment), 2 covered porches and one sun porch, and an outdoor "smores" area. It is best suited for 2-3 adults and 2 children. It is easily accessible to mountain activities.(No getting lost on dark, curvy, back roads)

The space
Situated on Hwy 194 between Banner Elk and Elk Valley, NC this comfortable home has easy access to a multitude of Mountain activities. Banner Elk is just over a mile up the road and has several restaurants, 2 grocery stores, convenience stores, local shopping and is the home to Lees McRae College. There are also seasonal activities close by like whitewater rafting, lots of hiking trails, trout fishing and zip lining. For Winter sports enthusiasts, Memory's Guest House is equidistant to two of the best ski resorts in the Southeast - Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain. (As a matter of fact, this vacation home is nestled in the valley below Beech Mountain.) In the opposite direction lies the cute little town of Elk Park, NC - home to Elk River Falls and some neat little antique shoppes. Just a bit farther down the road is the breathtakingly beautiful Roan Mountain State Park in Tennessee. AND....we're just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from several other iconic Blue Ridge Mountain towns like Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis and the big "metropolis" of Boone, NC (Home to Appalachian State University). Oh ! And you have to take a drive on the acclaimed Blue Ridge Parkway. Yes! Memory's Guest House is a great place to base your High Country excursions from. (Especially since it's so easy to find....Just a mile and a half or so from Banner Elks' only traffic light on Hwy 194. No "trailhopping" on back mountain roads required).
This mountain family home has a master bedroom (queen bed) with it's own bathroom (shower only), a second bedroom (full bed) and a kids room (Full and twin bunkbeds) that share a full bathroom (shower/tub combo) which is located in the hallway. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area just waiting to accommodate those sit-down family dinners that you never have time for at home. And the living room has a craft/game/jigsaw puzzle space to help relax those travel weary muscles. There are two covered porches that tempt you to enjoy outdoor meals (no rain worries here). And there is a "smores" area off of the back porch.
There is convenient parking for two regular sized vehicles with easy ground-level access. (There are three small steps into the home.) You enter the home through a utility room that allows for (non-motorized) sporting item storage.
In the "Garden Season", we've prepared a small vegetable garden for you to glean from and there are apples and grapes to pick when they're ripe as well. We've done all that we can to prepare a sweet and "memory"-able place for you and your loved ones to enjoy and relax in. We hope to see you soon!

You will have access to the entire home with the exceptions of the locked storage room (in the 3rd bedroom) and the basement storage area. There is a small fenced yard on the side of the house for the little ones to play, a firepit area off of the back porch, and a small front yard. The parking area will accommodate 2 regular sized vehicles.

There Is no smoking allowed (of any kind)
inside the home or near any open windows or doors. We do not allow pets of any kind. Everyone must be 25 years of age or older unless Accompanied by their Parent or adult guardian. Cuddle up in our Queen sized bed and enjoy super crisp cotton sheets and a silky soft coverlet. We've chosen linens that we think will make your stay that much more enjoyable.

Our large Smart TV means you can watch all your favorite TV shows and movies! (Guests must use their own app login info.) Relax on our comfy couch, light a fire in our wood-burning fireplace, and enjoy a night staying in.

The open living, kitchen, and dining area means no one will be cut off from the action. We are fully stocked with a petite oven and stovetop, microwave, plenty of utensils, cookware, glassware, and a k cup coffee maker.

Our condo might be small, but our bathroom is roomy! We have a tub / shower combo so everyone's preference is covered.

What does this mean for you?

In colder / snowy seasons: you WILL need snow tires or chains, and an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle. The weather on Beech can change in an instant, and we may not be able to accommodate adding extra days to your stay in inclement weather. Please ensure your vehicle is equipped properly for mountain driving in the snow.

In warmer seasons: please watch carefully for wildlife. We have foxes, deer, and even bears on Beech! Do not leave any food or trash outside the condo. Do not leave food in your vehicles. Please drive carefully as we frequently see newborn deer crossing the roads in late spring / early summer.

*** Please remember that we do get snow, rain, fog, and other occasional inconveniences that are out of our control here in the mountains. Winter weather can occur here from November through April. This property is accessed and maintained via a paved road and paved parking area which may be icy or snowy during winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means four-wheel drive, good tires, and possibly snow chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for potentially hazardous road conditions. There will be no refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from weather conditions out of our control. ***

One of a kind 300 square foot micro condo with Modern Farmhouse decor and atmosphere, located at The Pinnacle Inn in the heart of Beech Mountain. LESS THAN A MILE FROM THE OVERLOOK BARN! The condo is fully equipped to make a short stay comfortable and affordable, and it is the perfect place for a couple or those traveling solo.

After adventuring around the area, you can finish your day in the indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, or hot tub! **The All Season Center is closed 4/8/24-4/30/24.

The space
This condo is located at The Pinnacle Inn in the heart of Beech Mountain. It was totally renovated in a modern farmhouse style. It offers everything you need to feel at home, including a queen size bed, wood fireplace (wood not provided), microwave, coffee maker, blender, pots/pans, dishes, small electric range, small refrigerator, and a washer and dryer. The condo also has 2 wall heaters, one next to the bed and one next to the sofa, plus a portable heater located in the sitting area. Please note that there is no A/C in the condo as the daytime Summer temperatures are typically in the 70s and the evening/night temperatures are typically in the 50s and 60s. Included in your stay is unlimited Wi-Fi, cable TV + HBO channels. There is a small open porch to sit and relax or to keep your bicycles.

The minimum age to rent the Cozy Bird Nest is 23 for all guests. As a safety precaution, I do not rent my condo to guests without them being fully registered and verified by Airbnb, which includes a self-photo, email, phone, and government ID. I also require previous Airbnb stays and positive reviews.

The condo is for 2 guests maximum, no exceptions. There is a $250 fine for additional unauthorized guests. I do not rent to 3rd parties. The condo is not suitable for children.

Due to severe allergies, I cannot have pets or smoking in my condo, hallway or balcony. There is a $250 fine for bringing an unauthorized pet or for smoking in the condo.

Parties are not allowed. If guests have a party in the condo, an extra $65 cleaning fee will be charged.

Please know that I am doing my part to keep the condo safe by cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces (light switches, door knobs, cabinet handles, remotes, etc.) before each check-in.

There is a Ring security/video camera located on the front door and directed towards the exterior (common) hallway only.

**Please note that the All Season Center will be closed from April 1 through April 15, 2025.**

When the All Season Center is open, guests will have full access to the indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. Pinnacle Inn also offers a pool table, ping pong, corn hole, work-out equipment, tennis courts, and miniature golf.
