This early 1800's miller's cabin has been lovingly restored and is ready for your relaxing getaway. Only 7 miles from Main Street Abingdon, this cozy retreat is perfectly located for family fun. Situated a few yards from the North Fork of the Holston River, you have easy access to fishing and Adventure Mendota, a local tubing outfitter. We are minutes from Bristol TN/VA and Bristol Motor Speedway. Hiking, biking, fishing and hunting are enjoyed by area residents. Local favorites include the Barter Theatre, the Martha Washington Inn, Heartwood, The Creeper Trail (including the Appalachian Trail), and a wonderful variety of local food fare. The Highlands Festival, Bristol Rhythm & Roots and many other cultural events make our area an excellent vacation destination.

The interior of our property is the original miller's cabin built in the 1820's. In the early 1900's, the cabin was expanded and a clapboard exterior added. Master bedroom and bathroom are on the main floor. ***Please note, that the two upstairs bedroom have extremely steep steps. This adds to the uniqueness of our cabin, but could be an issue for visitors with mobility issues.

A full kitchen will lend itself to meal preparation and entertainment. Microwave, coffee maker and all cookware are provided.

It offers a relaxing and refreshing atmosphere. Old Fairview is family owned and operated, insuring an immaculate and refreshing log cabin ready for your visit. The cabin was built by the owner and his family from logs dating back to the 1800's. It is located on the property of the owner, nestled in a patch of trees providing a very peaceful and relaxing setting. There is an outdoor fireplace on a covered back porch and a covered front porch where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. The cabin is fully furnished and has a full kitchen with stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. The cabin features a loft bedroom with a queen bed and small antique twin bed. Welcome to our Vacation Home. The house offers a huge yard with fire pit and creek located at 26486 Denton Valley Rd. Abingdon, VA. Enjoy watching the birds from the back deck. In the summer we have an abundance of hummingbirds that visit our feeders. We are in the process of converting our 2 acre field into a pollinator's paradise with the addition of a flower farm. The house is only 2 miles from the Creeper Trail and South Holston Lake. It is a 15 minute drive from Abingdon, home of the most famous stage in Virginia - Barter Theatre. Likewise it is only a 15 minute drive to Damascus, the heart of the Creeper Trail with nice restaurants and bike rentals.

This area is an outdoor lover's dream come true!

Damascus is also just 12 minutes away and you are not a far drive from Mount Rogers State Park and White Top Mountain. We are located at the midpoint of the open part of the Creeper Trail.

Mont Calm is a Historic Landmark on the National Register, built by Governor David Campbell in 1827. The Guesthouse sits on a quiet 12 acres in the center of Abingdon. The driveway meets the Virginia Creeper Trail head in town. The Barter Theatre, restaurants, shopping and the rest of Downtown are only a short walk away! Easily access all that the area has to offer like hiking, fly fishing, mtn biking, rock climbing, etc. The Guesthouse is quite modest but should have everything you need. One bedroom has a queen and a twin, one a full size, a queen, and a twin, and the third has bunk beds. The is one full bath and one half bath. The living room has a 47" flat screen tv, with digital antenna(no cable), DVD, and Amazon Fire TV/Wifi. There is a dining room off of the fully equipped kitchen. Coffee maker, toaster, microwave, oven/range, refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. We have fans in every room, ac units, and a furnace in the winter time. There is a front porch and back porch and a massive front yard! You will not find a better location!

The house was gorgeous, had everything we needed, and the layout was perfect. Also, kudos for the extremely comfortable beds! The front porch was perfect for viewing the mountain sunset and our son challenged us to several games of horse at the basketball goal. We decided to arrive later with that in mind. The electricity was out all over Abingdon and surrounding areas. Our race was canceled so we ended up coming home and didn't stay. However, the house is so beautiful. We were disappointed in not getting to stay. We will definitely book this the next time we are in Abingdon. The host was great to work with on a possible late checkout and was understanding of us leaving early with no power and our race canceled. "

Historic NEWLY RENOVATED Apartment Right ON The Virginia Creeper Trail Overlooking The Holston River. Apartment location is the entire second floor. No need to drive to the trail. You are on it!! Just step out the door and get on your bike. Just a few steps away across the spacious parking area is the Holston River with a Gazebo for picnics by the water. Fantastic Restaurants in both Abingdon and Damascus. Make sure to visit The Barter Theatre while you are in town.
Apartment is equipped with High speed Wi-fi. All televisions are SmartTV's, perfect for accessing your Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime accounts, etc. Linens and towels provided.
Bring your bike, fishing pole, kayak and don't forget your camera! Winery is walking or biking distance , only 0.6 miles away. Barter Theater is a short 10 minute drive. Perfect location for the Yeti 50 and Yeti 100. But hurry, those dates book quickly! Enjoy the outdoors in scenic Southwest Virginia.

Beautifully renovated space in Historic Alvarado. The space features a brand new King size bed with luxurious linens... super comfy and cozy! There is a flat screen TV in the bedroom perfectly positioned to watch if you want to lounge around and catch a good movie. On the other side of the bedroom is a cozy chair to relax in and read a good book. A large 2nd level private porch awaits you just outside your bedroom door. Great to watch the river, the bikes riding by, and the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening while listening to the sounds of tree frogs in the distance.
The second Flat Screen TV is in the living room along with the comfortable oversized leather sofa, loveseat and ottoman. All TV's have access to most streaming services and Netflix. Terrific WIFI and boosted cell phone signal is included at this property. If you feel the need to get some work done while you are here, by all means, bring your laptop!
The spa inspired bathroom has been newly renovated and includes big fluffy towels, Shampoo, conditioner and soaps. The Kitchen includes a cute shabby chic farm table for 2, A small stove, Mini fridge, Microwave, Keurig coffee, plenty of snacks,and bottled water.

The entire apartment is yours to enjoy, and also the shared picnic tables outdoors between the cottage and the main building.

There is a very spacious parking area in front of the building. Guests of Alvarado Apartment have access to carport parking on the left side of the building right near the entryway to the apartment.
