- "We booked a last minute stay for Fourth of July weekend to getaway from the city, relax and celebrate our dogs birthday. Blowing Rock/Boone are great getaways to help relieve stress and reset your bodies. With that out of the way, this property was fantastic! Great modern amenities, (dish washer, disposal, WiFi) and a lot of space. Amazing back deck looking over a peaceful forest, yard for dogs and great views on the drive up. Extremely clean and well kept, with all the pots/pans and utensils needed. Only two very minor gripes. The driveway took a little finessing at first to get our car out the first time, but after we figured out the gravel, It was no problem at all. I wish it was a little closer to downtown blowing rock, but that’s on me not the property owner, they were very transparent as to the 20minute or so drive to blowing rock. Again two very very minor gripes, not even issues. But the drive into/out of town has breathtaking views so really it was a net positive. Larry and Melinda reached out immediately with great details as to the stay, checkin/checkout was seamless. We will definitely stay here again in the future in our next stay in blowing rock. Thank you both for being so accommodating and making our dog Lily’s birthday so special! She had a blast."

The home is approximately 1000 sq. ft. and has a 2-bedroom 2-bath split floor plan (will sleep 6 with the use of a pull-out sofa). This home is located on Flat Top Road and has plenty of paved parking for two or three cars. Although the driveway is paved, you may need a 4-wheel drive if there is a large amount of snow in the winter. The driveway gets good early morning sun and usually clears off nicely, but can be difficult with heavy snow.

Views, privacy, convenience to all the area activities, Longview Cottage is a wonderful place to visit!

- "We changed reservations from a hotel in Boone to this condo at the last minute as weather forecasts called for 8"+ of snow. As a side note, the forecasts were not accurate. Surprise, surprise! However, we were glad that we changed as the location to Appalachian Ski Mountain is excellent. Only about a 1-2 minute drive. The condo was clean. Directions for use of the fireplace, TV, internet, kitchen and check out were clear. The view from the deck was great. Additionally, we were thankful to have the extra room versus a hotel room before and after a day of skiing. I would absolutely recommend this condo for anyone that wanted an alternative to a hotel or anyone with a family of 2-4 that wanted a peaceful location for skiing, hiking, visiting Blowing Rock/Boone, etc."

1Eight3 Retreat is an immaculately maintained, elegantly furnished and decorated, modern mountain cottage on Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock, less than 2 miles from downtown. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only a mile away, and Tweetsie Railroad is only about 3.5 miles away. The Town of Boone and Appalachian State University are both about 5 miles away. Valle Crucis is approximately 12 miles away and the Town of Seven Devils and Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zip Lines are about 15 miles away. Grandfather Mountain is less than 14 miles away. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Beech Mountain Ski Resort are 18 and 27 miles away, respectively. Watauga Lake and the Tennesee line are less than 30 miles away. All there is to do in the High Country is conveniently nearby.

The cottage itself is a two-story, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home ideal for a romantic weekend getaway, or a small family High Country vacation to enjoy any of the four seasons. The owners have lovingly and thoughtfully outfitted this home with a comfortable yet elegant consistent mountain modern theme throughout, which should be desirable to the most discerning guests.

Enter through the front door into the main level foyer and you will find the kitchen and dining area immediately on your left. Dine six guests comfortably after preparing meals in a kitchen equipped with butcher block counters, custom Shaker-style cabinets, stainless appliances, and a gas cooktop. Down the main hall is the living room looking out at the rear covered porch and onto the private back yard surrounded by woods. The living room has a large wall-mounted HD Smart TV, comfortable upholstered and leather furniture, with a good mix of rustic and modern touches. Glass doors lead out from both the kitchen and living room onto the covered porch and deck, which wraps around from the front, side, and rear, and offers comfortable outdoor seating with heat for chilly days and nights, an outdoor dining table, and a stainless gas grill. Also on the main level is a half-bathroom/powder room which also serves as a laundry room.

Upstairs you will find all three bedrooms and both full bathrooms. The master suite features a king bed, HD Smart TV, and a private bathroom with a shower/bathtub combo. There is a queen bedroom which also has an HDTV, and a bunk bedroom with a twin top bunk, and a full-size sleeper sofa underneath. The bunk bedroom also has an HDTV. Central in the hallway is another full bathroom with a tub and shower combo.

Downstairs you will find a game room with HDTV and foosball table for casual family fun. Ample parking and a large landscaped yard with a gazebo swing make this a wonderful place for groups of up to 6. Dogs are allowed (no cats!) but only 1 per reservation, with a 50-pound weight limit.

The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. The Food Lion was minutes away, but we felt like we were in the mountains. It was a bit cold, but we used the outdoor grill and would have enjoyed sitting on the porch during warmer weather. Plenty of seating, a great kitchen table for board games and gathering."

Chalet Blueberry is a charming, 2 Bedroom/2 Bath, mountain cottage in Blowing Rock, just a few minutes from downtown and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Appalachian Ski Mountain and Tweetsie Railroad are both only 7 miles away, and Grandfather Mountain, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Hawksnest, and Beech Mountain Ski Resort are all between 15 and 22 miles away. Also conveniently close by are Boone, Banner Elk, and Valle Crucis.

The main level of Chalet Blueberry offers an open concept kitchen, dining, and living rooms. The living room has comfy leather sofas and chairs, an HDTV with Chromecast service, and a wood-burning fireplace. Enjoy the mountain views from the glass doors and windows on the rear of the living room, the dining area, and the kitchen. - "We stayed at the Clementine cottage during fall move-in week for App State. At the cottage, we were away from the hustle and bustle of all the downtown crowds but within a quick 10 minute drive back to campus area to meet our son, help with the move, or grab a quick bite. We were also close to Blowing Rock which is one of our favorite places to visit in the mountains. The house is close to everything but you also get to enjoy the peace and quiet of the "farm" setting. Our dogs enjoyed daily walks through the woods and a couple swims in the pond. We saw lots of wildlife and a family of deer visited almost every day. The house was comfortable and had all the necessities. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit to Boone. "

Hiking and walking trails, rivers and lakes, and much more are convenient to Tanawha Vista. Located in a pleasant mountainside community, downtown Blowing Rock and Appalachian Ski Mountain are only a mile away. The Blue Ridge Parkway is within walking distance. Tweetsie Railroad is about two (2) miles distant, and Boone and the Appalachian State University campus are less than a ten-minute drive. Grandfather Mountain, Hawksnest Snow Tubing & ZipLines at Seven Devils, the village of Valle Crucis, and Sugar Mountain Resort are all less than fifteen (15) miles away. The owners provide a kayak and life jackets for your use as well as two mountain bikes!There is an outdoor firepit and covered grilling area for your use and is located at the Sweet Grass "Lake House".

You will love the relaxing sound of the natural flowing stream behind the home. The covered cottage deck faces the lake and has an outdoor wood burning fireplace, a dining table, and over-sized comfy wicker furniture, making outdoor dining or sitting by the fireplace a treat in several seasons! The cabin also has a grill for your use.

The living area with vaulted ceiling has a stacked stone gas log fireplace and ample seating for conversation. Stream your favorite shows on the smart TV or play a board game on the large leather coffee table. Adjacent to the living area is an open dining area that seats up to six. Next to the dining area is a large kitchen, with kitchen island, also open to the living area, so that you can visit with your guests while cooking up a veritable feast! The hallway bath has a combination tub/shower. On the main level there is a powder room.

The SweetGrass community has implemented thoughtful rental rules, including quiet hours, to protect community assets and maintain harmony in the community. You will be required to agree to, abide by and sign a copy of the rules as a part of the process of renting this home. The rules are there as much for your peace of mind as for the homeowners'.

Because we’re in a mountain area with active wildlife, we ask guests to take their trash with them upon departure whenever possible.

There’s a convenient drop-off site just down the road at the Aho Convenience Center—hours are listed in our guidebook. If you’re checking out on a day it’s closed, feel free to leave one small, tied trash bag inside the bin.

Our cozy neighborhood sits up a steep hill, which means winter driving can be tricky. Please plan ahead during snow season!

AWD or 4WD is highly recommended to safely reach the property in winter weather.
Tires: All-season tires often struggle on steep, snowy roads. For the best traction, we recommend tires with the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol.
Chains: Peerless Autotrac chains are our go-to—easy to install and super effective. Practice putting them on before you need them!
Vehicles: Smaller, lighter vehicles tend to handle better on hills. If you’re in a truck, adding weight over the back axle can help with traction.
Plowing: Our private road is plowed after storms, typically down to one lane. Sunshine and warmer temps do the rest!

Guests staying 30+ days will receive one complimentary cleaning per month. We ask that the space be kept reasonably tidy to allow our cleaner to do their job with ease. If the home is left excessively dirty, additional cleaning fees may apply.

The Springhouse is a delightfully unique, freshly remodeled 2 bedroom, 2 bath home tucked into an unlikely corner of downtown Blowing Rock.  Both retro and new, it combines sleek industrial and natural elements with rustic warmth in one meticulously designed package. You are guaranteed to fall in love with this one-of-a-kind hideaway which is certain to be a huge hit in Blowing Rock for years to come.

Upon arrival, you will open a riveted metal gate to reveal a private, covered outdoor oasis, with a hot tub, an outdoor living/dining area, a smart tv, and a built-in planter filled with greenery. The deck overlooks and provides gated entry to a grassy backyard with a fire pit and comfortable seating. The spring that gives The Springhouse its name runs along the back side of the property. Up to two dogs are welcome to join you. The Springhouse is Dog Friendly! Like most properties, approval of pets is required and there is a pet fee.

From the patio, you will enter a spacious, open living, dining, and kitchen area, filled with natural light. The living area has a comfortable leather sofa, wingback chairs, an area rug, a smart tv, and a coffee table with magazines for your enjoyment. The electric fireplace provides additional warmth and ambiance on chilly days and aesthetic appeal at any time of the year. 

Next to the living area is a multipurpose island with bar stools that double as extra counter space for cooking, a serving or bar area for entertaining, or a dining space. The kitchen has all-new stainless appliances, countertops, cabinetry, light fixtures, and flooring, as well as windows overlooking the backyard.  It is fully stocked with glassware, cookware, flatware, chef's knives, and utensils. You won't need to pack your kitchen to enjoy a stay at The Springhouse!

Walking through the hallway you will pass a hallway bath on your left and two bedrooms at the end of the hall. The master bedroom with an ensuite bath has a king bed, good quality bedding, dressers, end tables, a closet, a smart tv, and calming decor. Slumber the night away in this natural environment and awaken refreshed and ready for your day in the mountains, shopping, or dining in nearby downtown Blowing Rock. The en-suite bath has a sink, a black and white tiled step-in shower with a full-length glass door, and shelves with fluffy white towels.

To the other side of the hall is another king bedroom with dressers, end tables, a closet, good quality bedding, smart tv, and similarly relaxing decor. Rest assured that your guests will enjoy the same comfortable and peaceful experience that you do.  The hallway bath has twin sinks, two large mirrors, good lighting, and a combination tub/shower.

Are you flying into town and prefer to travel light? The Springhouse has a full-sized washer and dryer for guest use. All TVs are smart TVs with Spectrum Streaming App included.

The covered cottage deck faces the lake and has an outdoor wood burning fireplace, a dining table, and over-sized comfy wicker furniture, making outdoor dining or sitting by the fireplace a treat in several seasons! The cabin also has a grill for your use.  

The living area with vaulted ceiling has a stacked stone gas log fireplace and ample seating for conversation. Stream your favorite shows on the smart TV or play a board game on the large leather coffee table.  Adjacent to the living area is an open dining area that seats up to six. Next to the dining area is a large kitchen, with kitchen island, also open to the living area, so that you can visit with your guests while cooking up a veritable feast! The kitchen has all stainless appliances, ample granite countertops, a large farmhouse style sink, and all the usual cookware, dishes, glassware and utensils you will need. The kitchen includes a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, range, oven, refrigerator with icemaker, and more!

Sweet Meadow Cottage is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath cottage that sleeps 4 adults and up to 2 children. The cottage has two king bedrooms and a queen fold out sofa and twin bunk bed in the loft, all with cozy bedding, fluffy pillows and extra blankets for your comfort. The master king bedroom on the main level has a private en-suite bath with soaking tub and shower and Jack and Jill sinks. The upstairs king bedroom shares a hallway bath with the loft. The hallway bath has a combination tub/shower. On the main level there is a powder room.

The SweetGrass community has implemented thoughtful rental rules, including quiet hours, to protect community assets and maintain harmony in the community. You will be required to agree to, abide by and sign a copy of the rules as a part of the process of renting this home. The rules are there as much for your peace of mind as for the homeowners'.

This is the perfect home for a restful getaway, a writer's hideaway, an anniversary destination or a thoroughly romantic honeymoon. Your stay at Sweet Meadow Cottage is sure to be both memorable and enjoyable.

Pet Rules: 
Pets allowed with approval - a maximum of 1 dog under 45 lbs.
Your dog(s) must be fully housetrained and current on vaccinations and Flea & Tick preventative; cannot be left loose or unattended at any time; must be crated if you leave them home alone, crate(s) not supplied; pets are not allowed on the furniture and you must clean up any hair in the home upon your departure; Please make sure to clean up the yard after your dogs; if there is a hot tub, dogs are not allowed in it; and follow any rules regarding dogs in the Sweetgrass rules. The non refundable pet fee and tax is a total of $112.75 per dog.
